Cafe Cranberry in Denbighshire

We wandered in with friends on a Thursday evening and the food exceeded our expectations. Two of us ordered the sea bass and it was delicious — not overcooked and the accompanying vegetables complimented it. The risotto and lasagna were also excellent. Good value for the price. Wine selection was good and the homemade desserts were superb.

Nice sounding menu and nice decor but the service was fairly poor and the food wasn’t great. The pasta dish was drowning in oil and the risotto was fairly bland. Final item (which lost any chance of a tip) was the 50p charge for a take away box for 2 slices of pizza after we spent £86 on a meal! Overall didn’t leave feeling like they wanted any repeat business or really cared about the customer

We were last in Prestatyn a few years back and enjoyed this restaurant greatly, so we were looking forward to returning. They seem to have greatly expanded their menu since then but I don't think that's necessarily a good thing. We really loved the Welsh Rarebit the last time we were there but it's no longer on the menu, which was disappointing. I had the haddock risotto. It was pretty tasty, with a perfectly poached egg on top. However the portion was HUGE. Seriously they could have halved the portion and it would still be too much for the average person. I have a gastric bypass so can't eat much, so I ended up leaving a huge amount of food, which the waitress seemed to want an explanation for! My partner had fish and chips but sadly the fish was overcooked. My eldest son had pizza but he said it wasn't great and he didn't eat it all, which is unusual for him when it comes to pizza. Our youngest just had a plain jacket potato, which obviously can't really go wrong. I think they need to focus on a smaller number of dishes and excel in them, as they did when we last visited and review their portions!

Very family oriented good choice of food we had vegetarians who also had a good choice. Prices were reasonable too. Overall a good experience

Fabulous find. Diverted on our way along A55. Welcoming and professional Italian bistro. Lovley decorated. Menu has something for everyone. The lasagne was the best ever according to my son. I had a hadock and prawn risotto- it was delicious and well presented .others in our group were also pleased . We will def go again. The photos of the bistro are old I think, as looks much nicer now

Had an absolutely beautiful meal (mixed grill). As you can see below huge serving and amazing quality. Service was just as good aswell and all staff were extremely happy to help. By far the best mixed grill I have had in North Wales.

We ate here twice on our 7day stay in Prestatyn. Both evenings we were warmly welcomed. The menu was quite varied with something to suit everyone. The food was all home made and very tasty. Also quite reasonably priced.
