Called in for coffee with my daughter, warm friendly welcome and lovely atmosphere. Too early for lunch but had amazing homemade cheese cake, will defiantly return for lunch.

There is for me a time of year when the traditional roast dinner comes into its own and usually they are what you get from good old home cooked fare " But if you want a sunday off the stove ' there is no amount of sunday lunches on offer at the local hostelries but usually not of the home cooked taste" Step Forward Cafe Bistro Lounge ! the roast dinner was absolutely wonderful " quality local ingredients freshly prepared and good size portions all of this topped with Traditional homemade puddings ( my choice the bread and butter pudding yummy " ) Worth a return visit ? you bet it is !!

Best Sunday lunch in years outside of home and great value too at only £6.95. Home made Yorkshire puddings and a choice of Roast Beef or Roast Pork with different gravy for each meat - a rarity indeed in these modern times. We didn't have room for a pudding but the choices were great and again all home made. Less than 5 minutes walk from the new retail park, you can have a fabulous meal for less than the price of a coffee and biscuit in the chain cafes over the road.

We went for a meal after visiting Goodrich Castle. It was only a few minutes down the road so worked perfectly. The food was pub grub. The kids food was really good - huge portions. The fish fingers were proper fish fingers, more like breaded goujons and really big. The chips were nice, so was the pork belly starter. It was all quite good. We had 2 toddlers and they shared a meal. There were 2 high chairs and a relaxed atmosphere. There was an outdoor play area and lots of room outside and outside tables. The staff were very helpful.
