Dirty cups were provided by the coffee machine, I took six of them to the servery to be told that they are just coffee stains. Another lady came out from the back to give me every excuse under the sun to justify why they were putting dirty cups out, "we're limited what we can use because of COSHH" "We don't have a proper dish washer", what they didn't do is agree that they are dirty cups and apologise. Back at the coffee machine other customs were looking at the cups saying how disgusting they are and that at home we wouldn't dream of using cups in that state; we all ended up using paper take out cups instead. I asked for vegetarian sausages but told they've all gone, this was only at 9.30am, no offer to make any fresh and no other veggie option. We had fried eggs, hash brown and mushrooms, the food we had was OK, the hash brown was lovely but we would like to have full veggie breakfasts. Our overall experience of this cafe was not good, what food was there was OK, the coffee very weak, the staff were not very helpful. Will I come back again? Based on this experience the answer is NO; I've used the cafe several times in the past but over the last year the service has taken a nosedive. Value for money? I've always thought of it as good value here but today I felt robbed; just under £10 for 2 fried eggs each, 1 hash brown each, some sliced mushrooms each and a mediocre coffee each. If I had gone to a pub I could have spent 3 or 4 pounds more and had two full veggie breakfasts with unlimited coffee and clean cups and friendly helpful staff.

Absolutely horrendous!!!!!! The staff are very very RUDE! Throw sachets of sauce at you, tell you they are 10 pence hoping you say ‘keep it’!!!! Told me toast takes ages-trying to put me off buying it!! Then collected it rammed in a brown bag!!!!!!! Special mention to the young lady on the till - spent more time telling a visitor about life with 2 very young kids than being attentive to my needs? When asked why no coffee machine? Answered very nastily’ITS BROKE’!!!!!!!! Needs a job away from public! The other restaurant within hospital much much nicer with friendly attentive staff!!!!!!

Basic food, but very reasonably priced, so overall good value.

By the time I got to till with my coffee it was warm an not hot I like my hot drinks hot not cool enough to drink down in a few seconds 😩

I wasnt impressed at all as you have to queue for a cup for the hot drinks machine then you have to queue again to pay! Also the vegan Croissant wasnt advertised as having a blob of jam in the centre it was also very dry and old tasting.plus the young girl with dark rimmed glasses wasnt very polite or helpful when i asked for a vegan roll and when i asked if the croissants were vegan she said i think so!! I had to ask her to chck! So all in all my experience wasnt a good one!!

The cafe itself and there staff where lovely and helpful. But once we had seated were had to endure a very nhs domestic staff who was very rude all because of were we had chosen to sit . We sat were we sat as no one else in the seating area and my mum is diabetic. My mum has put in a formal complaint regarding this person .. we expect more from nhs staff..

Nice food throughout the day with social distance on all tables. Including a heated teepee (wigwam.) in the garden 🎪

Coffee is self serve. Its good enough coffee for the price. I wouldn't complain. Took a but to work out the machine though.

Yes, I'll let you know when we eventually get to use this place. Food line was massive, there was nowhere to sit and it's not wheelchair friendly whatsoever!

It's cheap its food but dont expect top quality dining. Staff do a cracking job looking after the patients and everyone involved at the Royal.

Could do better. Staff need improvement in training for customer service. The ham salad should never have tuna fish in it !!

Great the lady who served me was lovely she asked if i needed help to a table with my coffee due to me having a stick. The small things like that make a persons day xx

Awful went in to get a coffee they had only a machine that didn't look clean at all then I turned to look at the food and the server dragged a dirty tea towel holding hot 'fresh'food through the beans and bacon being served. To say it's in a hospital youd think hygiene would be paramount- obviously not

Nice clean friendly resteraunt good food And you can also pay your car park ticket at the till then get the security office to swipe it on the way out sometimes there can be long queues at the ticket machine outside

Very slow service for breakfast resulting in lukewarm food of poor quality. Very few customers (I'm not surprised) so workload is no excuse.

I have been a couple of times for breakfast and there is plenty of choice for me. I'm always a bit disappointed as it's not as hot as I expected but I suppose it goes with the territory. The staff are very friendly and helpful so that you can always get help if needed.

Good for a lunch while at the hospital. Drinks ok from a dispenser. Plenty of seating and wheel chair access.

Menu said "healthy meal of the day". Asked what it was. Told (very abruptly) "don't do it at weekends - just left menu out". Saw there was boiled rice (healthyish), asked what there was to go with it. Told (abruptly again) "there's nowt. It wa' fo' t' chilli but we've got none". Asked for a jacket potato. Told "got none a them done neither". Saw plain boiled new potatoes. Asked what there was under all the foil to go with them. Told "not much. There's a bit a stroganoff left" (no kidding! Dried up sauce and not much else). Ended up with boiled potatoes and the scraping of what was described as stroganoff. Bloody awful! Expensive left overs and mannerless staff. No apologies. Nothing healthy considering it us a hospital. Needs sorting out on many levels. Appalling all round. Should not be trading in a hospital!

Garbage for gluten free options. Allergies youd expect to be catered for at a hospital. Disgraceful. In fact aint it law that there should be a gluten free option in a resturant at all times. The lad said the chips wasnt even glutenfree as they share a fryer with other products.

Overall decent food and good ooening hours

The staff are nice good range of hot and cold food. The salad bar is good, but often sells out quickly.

Had some nice chips and my partner a jacket potato. Quite cheap price and nice too.
