¡Apoya a tus brillantes independientes!

You place your order at the counter on the ground floor and climb up a narrow winding staircase to tables upstairs. Your food is brought up to you. We had to wait a while for ours to be served. Not the most comfortable or accessible cafe.

I was over visiting family and stopped in for a coffee, as I would prefer not to go to big named coffee shops. Instantly regretted it! The girl with green hair was very rude, cut my sister off as she ordered her coffee and then cut me off as I was ordering mine (because they don't do decafe). My sister who had ordered her coffee before me went ahead with her order, even though the girl reeked of attitude. I personally would've left there and then. I ended up going to Starbucks and although unhappy about going atleast the staff were friendly. My sister that got the coffee said it was awful and wished she had got a Starbucks. I also checked the shops website which says "Hosting the widest selection of single origin coffee, we offer only the highest quality products and our award-winning experience is demonstrated through the staff that we train." This made me laugh as I have never experienced such bad service from ANY coffee shop! I'm a breastfeeding mother also, so to go to a coffee shop that doesn't serve decafe is a massive let down. Horrible experience and will definitely not be back.

Great decaf tea. Great general staff team. Awful owner. This is a really mixed review. I spent a lovely couple of hours on the top floor of Aroma drinking several pots of decaf tea and a cinnamon swirl served by polite and cheery staff and enjoying the warmth of the sunshine through the window. I was on my own for most of the time, and then I was joined by 2 small groups. When I arrived, I'd turned of the music coming from the speaker, as I'd found the music selection irritating and preferred to listen to the busker outside. After an hour and a half, suddenly a person swoops in who I'd not seen before, walks straight in, reaches over a customers head, turns on the speaker and goes into the store cupboard, so clearly a member of staff. A minute or so later, dashes out again and goes downstairs, not saying a word! So I turned to the other customers and explained that I had turned the speaker off and would it be ok to turn it off again and all agreed. With one saying, yes, it is quite annoying. Peace resumes. 15 minutes later, the 2 groups leave, and the same member of staff swoops in and again turns the speaker on and starts tidying up. I explain that I'd like the music off. He replied that they were now very busy and this floor would be filing up. I said ok. But I was the only one here now, and when I'd asked the other customers previously, they were happy to have it off. He muttered something and left. So I turned the speaker off again! By now I was thinking about my lunch. I had planned to stay and buy lunch there, but the person made me feel so unwelcome I decided to leave. On my way out, I wanted to speak to the person, but they weren't there, so I spoke to the staff team behind the counter about the person I described, and they said he's the owner. I explained what had happened and why I was leaving they looked uncomfortable but didn't say anything. At that moment, the owner bustled through the front door, and I asked to speak to him. He walked away, starting to go up the stairs. So I called after him saying that he'd made me uncomfortable upstairs, that I would have stayed and bought more, but I was leaving because of him. He kept walking up the stairs and said, "Bye then." I appreciate music is personal choice and can add to the atmosphere of a place, but if a customer asks to turn it off, I don't really see what the issue was, especially when I was on my own! A sad end to my visit to a great little place in the spring sunshine that served great decaf tea. ......

Was led to believe on the online menu that there would be a good dark hot chocolate here. I don't like it sweet so I always look for somewhere doing a dark option. What a disappointment! So unbelievably sweet could only manage one sip. Really quite disgusting. My husband said it was made with a syrup - I think they just add extra syrup for a 'dark' but it just ends up undrinkably sweet. Wouldn't go back there.

We visited today, family of four. Ordered four paninis, two lattes and two cans of fizzy orange. Came to £36. The lattes were served in small glasses on a wooden tray with water and were very strong, nothing like a latte. I had to put two sugars in and it was still too strong. When the paninis arrived they were warm on the outside but every one of them was cold in the middle. The brie and cranberry paninis had cranberry spilling out. No one came to ask how the food was. I felt completely ripped off.

I have heard many things about Coffee Aroma but never actually paid a visit to them! The traffic light system on the door was great! Green= Enter, Red= WaitThe coffee overall wasn’t phenomenal and certainly not exciting. However under the current climate and circumstances it is out of their control. I suppose they wish they weren’t restricted but sadly coronavirus has affected this. I am only rating the drink I had not the atmosphere. The white hot chocolate, my partner said was delicious and certainly worth tryingThe decor was nice and dark which is uncommon nowadays. Yes the stairs were a little steep but I guess this is the pros and cons of a building that they are using. The coffee house is certainly disabled friendly Overall it wasn’t too bad but not all people make it out to be. I’m really sorry guys I know you’re trying and most of the experience was pleasurable! Definitely disagree with previous comments about brands, we need to support our local independents so please please give this place a try.

Initially this looked like a great place for a brew. The menu had a pot of loose leaf tea for one - just what I wanted.I ordered a slice of cake to go with it and waited eagerly in anticipation. They plonked a cup of hot water in front of me with a tea bag dangling in it. A paper cup. Then charged me £3.70 for it.Come on guys this isn't good enough. I get that there's a national crisis and changes have to be made to operations but don't use this as an excuse - plenty of other places don't. I try my best to support local independent businesses but it's experiences like this that make the likes of Costa so much more attractive.

First impression were it looked like a snug little cafe but boy was I wrong. the Staff possessed little to no customer service skills. They serve Luke warm coffees on little trays to make them look more fancy. Very small choice of food and poor quality at that. The panini I ordered looked like the kitchen staff had kicked it up and down the street before serving. The seating areas are also poor, you have the choice of an inflatable old sofa covered in dog hairs or cramped into a small room with even smaller tables. Overall it was way below par and there is a much nicer places to eat in Lincoln. Including the local soup kitchen.

Lots of people think they are experts in coffee but are actually only experts on the coffee they like. So talk to the staff explain what you’d like. I don’t think coffee should be boiling hot but if you do ask for it. Ask for the strength you want. These guys know what they’re doing. I love the place, they give me lactose free milk, only place I know. The coffee to me is great, the atmosphere quirky and I love it. The staff are young, I’m age challenged but they treat me so well. The deals are great. The books and games how wonderful to have them around. I live in NZ and so only here on my yearly visits but it never disappoints. Now Kiwis are passionate and knowledgeable about their coffee, so if a Kiwi gives it a 5 star rating you know it’s good.

I have been visiting Coffee Aroma regularly since moving to Lincoln and I highly recommend it. It is a lovely cozy cafe with three floors of seating, each room of which is decorated differently and to a tasteful theme. The drinks here are lovely, I’ll start with that so no one gets the wrong impression here, they really are very nice, however, while the choice to give you your drink on a tray in separate components is aesthetically pleasing, it was highly confusing to the both of us. I have no doubt that this is a high class method of having your coffee, likely in order to enrich the flavours and what not, yet for someone who is unaware of why were given water or why I chose the the incorrect sugar apparently, an instruction manual would be nice.

Wanted a coffee while visiting Lincoln when on holiday in the area. Tried this place rather than the busy big chain coffee shops. Was surprised to see how small the downstairs seating area was but there were several more areas up the rather steep and unwelcoming stairs. Mad assortment of junk shop finds furniture and walls decorated with old sheet music. Staff polite and brought our cappuccinos up to us. Perhaps we are peasants from a small city further west but we were totally baffled by the wooden tray each with a glass of water, spoon, mug of weak virtually tasteless cappuccino and extra shot of espresso. Eventually worked out to tip the shot into the mug but it didn't taste great at all and was not very warm. It seems this place has a great reputation from what I have since read online but we were not impressed.

If they want to attract more customers I suggest they provide seating that is fit for purpose, improve their selection of drinks (particularly the coffee, which doesn't need to be served on a pretentious wooden board) and clean the whole establishment occasionally! The toilet was so unhygienic.

I arrived with my friend who had pored positive reviews onto me for hours, insisting we should come, choosing this over Starbucks and Costa. As i stepped inside i realised we made the perfect decision! The cafe has the perfect vintage twist with beautiful 3 storeys each one with unique decoration. On the first floor there is a small room with books and games on one wall. Me and my friend sat there for hours playing chess while we enjoyed our red velvet cake and coffee. It seems the perfect place for a date and the quality is superb!!! The drinks are delivered on little wooden trays and even the little details make this place special. Normally i would never think to leave reviews on trip advisor but i couldn't resist and i would recommend choosing this over Starbucks any day!!!

A wonderful coffee shop. The staff are all quite young but they are very good at customer service. Coffee range is good and small selection of cakes, patries and panninis. There are also games to play, taught my son chess there, books and wifi. Been coming here for years now and will be visiting for many more to come

This is a great place to go for a pit stop if you like a cafe that has moulded itself into the building.

Dropped in en route to the rail station, having visited the market, and not liking the look of the pubs. Sat at the counter, great friendly staff, and a fantastic selection of beers. Spent a great hour here which really made our day

I visited on the weekend at about 10pm, it was a nice surprise that such a nice coffee shop was open! It looked quite lively and seemed to have a good atmosphere, so we decided to go in.

Very cool and comfortable premises with free WiFi, board games, books and music at an appropriate level (good track choices too). Brilliant, high quality drinks; deffo competing with Stokes for the best coffee in town. Good selection too. Fantastic, friendly service and, if such things please you, you'll be glad to know presentation is good. Facilities always clean and well looked after. Easily one of my favourite places to refuel or relax.

For three pounds, you won't get a nicer cup of coffee and pastry. Comfortable and trendy decor inside and spacious upstairs seating.

I lived in Lincoln as a student for 3 years. I visited aroma regularly and I can guarantee that the make exquisite coffee. Even if a small establishment it the chairs are comfy and and the environment is warm. In addition if you are a smoker there are outside sittings with heating lights for the cold winter.

My husband and I have been coming here for over a year now and it always impresses. The coffee (most importantly!) is delicious and the atmosphere is really relaxed. We love to sit outside and watch the world go by, even when it gets chillier as there are outdoor heaters. A real gem of a place, a must visit if you are in Lincoln and in need of a caffeine boost.

Ordered 4 different pizzas tonight. They were beyond delicious with tasty ample toppings ready in to time at all. The staff are efficient and effective. Nothing is too much trouble. The finest pizza jewel in lincoln pizza places. Such a friendly atmosphere with great service. Thank you all.

Edit march 2025 last kebab not so good ,tonight's was mainly small scrappy pieces - lots of it lol oked like what I can describe non meat ( artificial looking) no taste and tontop it off when I moved the salad to the side there's was a blob of melted cheese stuck to the Carlton size , I hate cheese where it make me won't to vomit so I'm not recommending now dropping stars right down, don't know if they've got new owners - plus driver sat scrolling in his phone on his phone when he pulled up for roughly three minutes, whilst food getting cold in his car. No more orde s from me for a been a few months since I last ordered, and this past couple of times was even better than before, I don't know if they've changed ownership or food suppliers .but loving it either way, the chips are nice not soggy ( even though they're in those new containers, kebab , not over greasy as some can be all grease rather than just moist ( if you now what I mean) I'm now sat blown up ,as ate more than I should have .lol
