Great selection of tapas, rather unusual for a taps place, it was all served together! Went on a Saturday evening, and was pretty busy, but service was still very quick. Food was great quality too! My wife particularly recommends the churros!

First meal out in months! Staff were wearing masks and we were asked to submit contact details on arrival, so we knew they were taking health and safety seriously. They were also participating in the Eat out to help out scheme which meant we got £20 off our meal (reducing it from a somewhat pricey meal of £56 down to £36). That was for five tapas bowls, three drinks and a desert. All were very enjoyable. If I'm ever back in Edinburgh, I'd consider visiting again.

9/10Visited last night, normally I go to the cafe andaluz in George street so this was my first visit to this place. It’s a beautiful restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and it was quite busy for a Wednesday evening. There were 3 of us and we ordered a selection of different dishes (maybe 9/10 between us all). It arrived quickly and it was all lovely, fresh and tasty. My favourites included the asparagus with hollandaise, chicken in batter and the calamari. 2 people ordered desserts, the churros and chocolate tart. These were both a bit disappointing. The churros were very greasy and the tart pastry wasn’t nice. Would 100% go back but may avoid dessert!

My partner and I enjoyed our visit here. It was peak time on Saturday night so the place was busy with a nice atmosphere. First time in this one as usually go to the george street one. Staff were nice and polite and the service was competent and efficient without being outstanding.drinks were slow to arrive on both occasions.we shared 7 tapas between us and some bread and olive oil. The food came promptly within 10/15 minutes which we were impressed with.Overall food and drinks were good but some of the dishes were on the tiny side even for tapas. Only 5 very thin and small pieces of asparagus. Again only 5 pieces of beef fillet in the beef with paprika cream sauce, really tasty sauce but the beef was tough, which was disappointing. The ham croquettes were delightful as was the dauphinoise potatoes. The chicken with honey and mustard was also really nice and tasty. The chorizo and black pudding dish again was good, the sauce was really flavour some, with the chorizo cooked beautifully but only one piece of black pudding so my partner never got to try it unfortunately. The battered prawns with aioli were cooked well but the batter was a little too thick so wasnt very crispy but still nice and juicy prawns inside. When clearing the plates the waiter didnt ask if we enjoyed the food which is always a bug bear of mine. Overall a nice meal and good food but not perfect and some really small portions. Would return again with interest hoping to see an improvement on the inconsistencies.

Dishes came quickly so enabled us to order as we went and allows you to regulate how much you want to eat. We usually like Cafe Andaluz so we’re excited after making a booking tonight. However, when we tried to order what we usually have our waitress did not look impressed at all. We were told by the waitress this was too much (4 tapas dishes each), and we should take some away. We felt embarrassed and confused why the restraunt would want less money and uncomfortable customers. Funnily enough when our order came it turns out the waitress hadn’t cancelled the said dishes and actually ordered the wrong thing. Luckily a waiter allowed us to cancel these. That meant though, as expected, we still felt hungry at the end of the meal whilst finishing off our drinks. We tried looking at the desert menu for some more food that we wouldn’t be judged for, but as there were no dairy free options for desert we couldn’t have any. We actually ended up gong to buy food on the way home which is never a sign of a good meal! We have been loyal customers to cafe Andaluz for a while but we’re really disappointed tonight and feel that we don’t want to come back to somewhere that we cannot order what we want.

Café Andaluz often has offers for lunch which you can book online. I booked the VIP New Year meal online and received a confirmation email and a number for my reservation. It was supposed to be a nice meal with my family who came to visit until the waiter told me that I hadn't paid online PRIOR to the meal. This WAS NOT shown on the booking page online. I have previously booked online with Café Andaluz without paying prior to the meal with NO ISSUES. Unfortunately, the situation was made worse by the waiter's attitude. I showed him my confirmation email and booking reference and he made NO EFFORT to resolve the situation even when the restaurant was EMPTY. Instead, he gave us menus that charged significantly more than the original offer! Edinburgh has many other great restaurants that I would recommend. Unfortunately, Café Andaluz is NOT one.

Food was really nice, thoroughly enjoyed the quality. We were served by Marta initially who was an excellent host and took our order. After that we were catered by several other waiters who were really not interested and we had to wait for a good 15 minutes for the bill to arrive. Cafe should ensure that one waiter deals with customers from start to finish to keep the continuity and level of service. Most of the male waiters lack customer service skills.

We ate at Cafe Andaluz last Friday 6th December. The food and service were very good, until the waiter came to clear the table. He accidentally dropped the dish with the sauce/oil from the chilli prawns on the floor, which fell on our friends trainers and splashed all over his wife's suede boots. The waiter apologised and brought some wet wipes to clean up. Unfortunately the wet wipes did not fully clean the trainers and definitely did not clean the suede boots due to the oil. We were then left to sit with the sauce at our feet whilst all other servers avoided us. We asked for the bill which came full price... When the waiter came bavk for the payment I asked to speak to the manager, who seemed to grudgingly reduce our bill by 35% saying he was unaware of the accident. When I said the boots and trainers were possibly ruined he said he could give some money for laundry!

We hadn’t had Tapas since Majorca and this place did not disappoint. The staff are attentive & friendly while the food is fresh and delicious. We chose a sharing platter and three other dishes. Gambas pil pil, croquettes and pimientos de padron. The waiter checked we were happy to receive the sharing platter first then all three tapas dishes came out piping hot and the same time. We treated ourselves to Churros for dessert and coffees. Plus Gin and Beer! I thought it was reasonably priced too at just over £50. Definitely get a meal here but I’d say they’re booked solid at weekends! Brilliant restaurant. Denise

What a wonderful end to our fantastic fringe experience! Brilliant food, fab service and yummy cocktails. Our super smiley waitress, Flo helped us out with our food order as never eaten here before. Will definitely be back!

We had a very good meal here, but it was clearly hit hard by the crush of humanity that is the Fringe. Most Scots prefer pub food to seafood (over 90% of their catch is exported) so this is a tourist restaurant. The food was very good, service was also reasonable, and the wine selection was surprisingly good for Edinburgh.

Went for the Sunday special. It was worth the money as we were all stuffed and enjoyed 15 different dishes. We would have preferred a larger table as we had no room to move 5 people round a table for 4 with drinks and all those dishes did make it very comfortable. We had reserved a table in advance so expected better. A great choice to choose from.

This restaurant is beautifully decorated and is brimming over with atmosphere and ambience. The menu is heavily biased to Spanish Tapas and the choices are extensive enough to please even the pickiest eater. Food quality is excellent and the individual dishes add great colour and appeal on the table. Service is efficient and restaurant management is ever-present to ensure Cafe Andaluz offers everyone a great eating experience.

The quality of a restaurant can easily be judged by what the 'back' is like. Here it gets dumped on the pavement. Ie. the service is superficial, a tourist gimmick.

Getting somewhere to eat when the festival is on in Edinburgh is not always easy but we were lucky enough to get a table here

We are at the fringe and ate here early evening, tapas and draft Spanish beer. The muscles were luscious, tortilla to die for, artichokes and asparagus, a light tasty evening meal. Wonderful.

Grabbing lunch during the Edinburgh Fringe some fellow performers & I came here for lunch. The service was fine (it was of course very busy) and the food was exactly what you would expect from a restaurant specialising in this cuisine - fresh, well-presented and tasty.

Three of us had a reservation and were shown to our table with menus - then that was it for several minutes. No-one came to take our drinks or food order - I had to attract the attention of a waiter before any order was taken. We had bread & oil as a starter then like other people, the main courses arrived before that was finished. The tapas was all OK but they started to clear all the dishes away before my husband had finished his meal; this was pointed out to the waitress but she said it was 'company policy' to clear dishes - but surely not ones my husband was still eating from??!! One of us then ordered a desert and again this took ages to arrive. It was meant to be an ice-cream in a tuille basket with strawberry. After speaking to two assistants it finally arrived with no strawberry and the ice-cream virtually melted. I mentioned the lack of strawberry to the waitress who took the plate away and she indicated that I should have mentioned it straight away, as if it was my fault! Then cap it all we were given totally the wrong bill, which was for 4 people and not 3. This was the final straw - we told the owner/waitress who took a 5% off the bill - big deal!! We don't visit Edinburgh very often but this is certainly one restaurant we won't be going back to.

Restaurant was lovely. Loads of tables and good decor but the service was still personal. Despite being really busy as it was during the Fringe food arrived really quickly and everything was well presented and really tasty. They forgot our bread (good thing as portions were generous) and immediately and without question took it off the reasonably priced bill. Definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a lovely tapas meal here. We dined before 6.30 so could take advantage of the three dishes for £15. All of the dishes were good, with some excellent. The goats cheese with chilli orange marmalade was amazing. I've had better service but it improved as the meal went on. If you like tapas I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

By far the best tapas I’ve had in UK ever! Great choice, fast service and exceptional quality of food. We had a cold cheese and meat platter with chorizo, patatas braves, and goats cheese. More than enough for 2, finished off with a coffee and chouros! Highly recommend!

Lovely food and atmosphere. We had the paella which was well worth the 25 minutes to prepare and it gave us the added advantage of time for a couple of tapas dishes to have as starters. Naturally we spent some of that time persusing dishes coming to other tables (as you do) which means that a second visit is on the cards to try a tapas selection.

Had a tapas lunch from the lunch menu (rather than a la carte). Good deal for three tapas so three of us shared six dishes, perfect amount. Lovey food, service excellent. Recommended.

We found this little hidden gem after a quick Google search and they mamaged to sqeeze us in last min. Food, atmosphere and staff were all outstanding. We tried most things from the menu and were not disappointed. The cod croquettes were unreal and the pork cheek was cooked to perfection 👌. Every single dish was just amazing. We will be back.
