Absolutely terrible, thought I would try this place as I haven’t before and noticed from a book shop. From the moment I walked in there was an odd atmosphere, first the place is very dark even with it being sunny outside there is none inside what so ever, second the service is terrible my drinks were taken fast but to order food was very slow. I decided to order the tuna panini which was just so dry same with the chips that came with it. Staff sitting at the window on their phones like they don’t even care. Whilst waiting for the food I was looking about and noticed the soft play area, absolutely freezing in there considering it’s for children, the music coming from the kitchen being able to hear it from the entrance to enter in there, and then… the smell of smoke, whether they smoke from outside or in I’m not too sure is most definitely not good if this is a so called soft play area.

All four of us had pasta that was really tasty and impressed us all. The white Sauvignon and beer were also really good value. Service was very friendly and efficient. We’d definitely go back again

Staff are unbelievably rude!! Would not recommend this place to anyone with a family member/friend with disabilities. My 14 year old autistic sister was allowed to go into the play area by one member of staff to then get abuse hurled at her by a woman staff member who began shouting aggressively “no big people” as she is tall for her age, which obviously really distressed her. She then tried to lie about there being signs up saying “no over 9’s” and proceeded to say that my sister was “not normal” - absolutely vile behaviour. There were no signs up anywhere saying this at all and if this was the case then the first member of staff who allowed my sister onto the play area should have made us aware before she was embarrassed by the next who began to bark at us. I am so unimpressed by this, as someone who likes to support small businesses this is somewhere that should be avoided at all costs. Absolutely disgusting!!!

The manager here was absolutely brilliant with a large group of 15 of us for my birthday. I completely forgot to send the pre order until the day before but they made sure all of our choices were fulfilled and dealt with us really well with swift service and great food. Even fitted us in on one big table which is no mean feat!

We were seated instantly and were greeted by a friendly waitress (blonde hair and glasses) who took our order and was very kind and attentive to us during our visit. The food was lovely and service from staff was amazing.

The best place to eat in Llangollen (probably wales). The food was outstanding, only matched by the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. Loved it that much that I’m going to make my friends drive 1.30 hours to experience it. I don’t leave reviews often but want to share how remarkable this meal was.

Booked for Saturday early evening and was busy. Friendly staff and spacious surroundings with varied menu from Snacks to full meals. I ordered a tasty chicken chorizo risotto and my wife a sirloin steak which was perfectly cooked medium rare and was one of the best she had ever tasted. I highly recommend this if you’re in Llangollen.

This place is a dump. Stooped here as the corn House was fully booked honestly don't bother it's 1 star food for 4 star prices couldn't eat the pizza must be the cheapest pizza base ever

i was to this place back in april with my family for some late night food,there i enjoyed it very much and it was even better because we were on a long trip from London to Wales also the service was very good and the staff was friendly i would reccomend it to anyone looking to get a quick and good gourme experience for any circumstance.

Went there with friends, the service had a warming welcome with a smile on their faces.Everything was fresh! One of the best fish & chips and spanish sea bass i had in a long time!! Cheers and thank you for your service !!

Were were in Llangollen mid October enjoyed a first class dining experience at the bistro with a huge menu throughout the day . The cook played a big part in the bistro with many years experience in several European countries and it showed in the range and quality of the dining.I would highly recommend dining there

Excellent restaurant. It was my husbands birthday. The staff went out of their way to try to get candles for a cake. This could not be done, but what they did do, was an excellent desert on the house. All done without his knowledge. Very happy with the food, best mixed grill he had ever had.

The place is nice good play area for the children the food is fresh and perfectly prepared friendly and fast service the staff is lovely but the food ... is just AMAZING we want to come back everything is really good I recommend the mix grill and the burger so goodIf I can give 6 stars .... many thanks

A nice rest after wandering Llangollen. Great tasting coffee, just like Nero's, and a cheese and onion sandwich. Nice and friendly service, and good prices.

Myself and my husband had the large breakfast which includes tea n toast, this is the best breakfast I have ever had, it’s piping hot lovely tasty fresh food, the staff are really lovely as is the owner, it’s a lovely modern and clean place to eat, I can highly recommend S&G Bistro for good quality food.

I am local to Llangollen and had occasionally visited the cafe which previously occupied this location, the experience being so unmemorable that I completely ignored the changeover three whole years ago. This is a completely new experience and a far better one. Staff were very friendly, the table clean, the music and decor bland and the room temperature a tad low. But what aout the food? Excellent. I had a Black Sea Risotto from the specials board. Mussels, prawns, olives, haddock in rice topped with parmesan, served piping hot made for a tasty, filling meal. My wife had pan fried salmon with asparagus which she, much harder to please than me, pronounced " delicious".The menu is very wide ranging so it's a good option for a bite to eat when visiting the town, providing a wider range than most other establishments there.

This was my second visit to S&G's, and I have to say it was well worth the effort!! A very clean establishment with plenty of social distancing evident. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Welsh Burger, as I did on my previous visit over 2 years ago, and really enjoyed it. A massive burger consisting of beef patty, fried egg, smoked bacon and a whole host of other ingredients makes this a mouth watering feast, all washed down with big thick fries!! Excellent!! I will definitely be back whenever next in the area, and I'll definitely be recommending this place to any of my friends that might find themselves in this part of the world. The only downside is the customer toilets - I'll leave it at that.

A lucky find as we stopped off in Llangollen overnight on our barge trip. Excellent food & welcoming service. Shame we don’t live nearer as we would definitely be back!

This place is a lifesaver if you are staying near Llangollen and it’s a rainy day.The soft-play, while not the biggest or most modern keeps the kids happy and they do a really great pizza.Perfect if you need to keep the kids entertained without too much fuss on a rainy day.

Having visited this cafe / bistro on two occasions for a drink and than afternoon snack we observed some lovely food being served so decided to eat here for evening meal. We experienced friendly service on all three occasions. Our evening meals were well presented and all tasted superb. We have decided to eat breakfast here in the morning and feel confident we shall be treated to good food again.

We called for a coffee then had the muscles very good then came back for a evening meal we had the sea food platter and the Black Sea risotto all very nice the service is excellent try the cheesecake just superb also very nice coffee the owner is very polite and friendly a all round nice place

Stopped by chance not expecting much - but exceeded our expectations. The linguine (seafood and vegetarian) both really tasty. Service attentive and prices reasonable. Would recommend. Don’t judge by the look of the interior. Food is lovely.

Booked a table for 9 of us 6 adults 3 children, as soon as you walk in you are made to feel welcome and the waiter was so good with the kids. The food was lovely and so tasty Definitely recommend

Decided to call in on the way back from Corwen and let the kids run off some energy in the play area. I think everybody else decided to do the same as it was very busy in the restaurant and play area. Food was lovely as usual and staff were friendly even though very busy. See you soon

We visited on an extremely busy Sunday. Staff quite abrupt and run ragged. Ordered a welsh burger and it tasted as though it had been cooked in really old oil? Cutting corners and costs maybe? Ordered a side that also never arrived! Nice enough but not an excellent visit. Will think twice about coming again.....

Having had a great breakfast at S&G we ventured back for dinner. Hubby chose the Seafood Platter and his eyes popped out of his head when he saw how much was included. All of it cooked superbly and great quality ingredients. I had Seafood Risotto very tasty with plenty of fish. Great service from Scott and his team. Definitely will be back.

We stopped off here on a Sunday evening after a windy day after reading the reviews online. I ordered the grilled chicken breast and fell in love with the creamy mushroom sauce! The chips were really good too (unlike the ones I had the eve before at The Corn Mill...) Lots of salad and large portions. My husband had the other chicken breast option with a curry type sauce which he enjoyed too. The sticky toffee pudding wasn't the best that we have had but it definitely wasn't the worse. I didn't catch the waiter's name but would like to say what a polite and friendly guy he was!

My wife and I decided to try here after looking at the reviews. Did not disappoint. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were brilliant and the food was delicious. I had the beer battered fish and my wife had the seafood linguine. Thank you so much for a lovely time, we will definitely be back.

We have decided to visit Llangollen this weekend and we wanted fish and chips, locals recommended S&G;, they were right, the best we ever had in years, thank you and see you again.

S&G; Bistro has the outward appearance of an ordinary cafe but the food and service are second to none. My wife and I take lunch there regularly and the quality and variety of meals is always first-class. Prices are very reasonable, and the proprietor and his staff ensure that service is always good. Do try the specials: the Black Sea Risotto is amazing! On top of this, the restaurant is worth a visit if you have small kids because of the soft play area in adjacent accommodation, and there is a large and very quirky second-hand bookshop on the upper floor.

Kids love the play area. Food is lovely. Pizzas are freshly homemade and taste amazing. Ceasar salad is also amazing! Halloumi, chorizo and tomato wrap is also very tasty! Staff are very helpful and friendly and the service is great. We come here every week :-)

Absolutely lovely food and service.

We have visited S&G; Bistro since it was opened by Silvino he has transformed the old cafe that was there before in to a lovely place to eat. He makes the best Americano coffee in Llangollen. The food is cooked to order and is always delicious, we enjoyed a cooked breakfast today with all the trimmings, good quality Ingredients and fantastic value. The pizzas are delicious too. There was is wide choice of food whether you want a snack or a full meal. Give S&G; Bistro a try and like us you will return again and again!

Have been in twice in as many weeks with my dad, food has been cooked to perfection, and the service second to none, Scott is a true asset friendly and very on the ball. Will definitely be returning

Brought my partner and the kids this time and they loved it. Whilst the kids were having fun in the play area my partner and I could relax and enjoy some time together. Food was excellent. Food was good but the restaurant tired, play area doubles as storage, very dusty and dirty. The toilet area was awful, one functional toilet with a flush not working. For a cafe with a childrens play area also not particularly welcoming of children or noise.

My partner and I (and the dog) visited on Christmas Day. They had a Christmas dinner but we both ate of the normal menu. I had a pizza which was delicious and home made.

5 of us went to S&G; Bistro, all with very different dietary quirks and we were so well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great. We then had a look round the bookshop upstairs which reminded us of Barter's in Alnwick. I can highly recommend S&G; Bistro and will definitely return there next time I'm in Llangollen

Stopped in for breakfast, what a treat! Eggs royal was amazing, loads of salmon, lovely muffin and rich hollandaise sauce over perfectly poached eggs. The full breakfast was lovely, loads of food, well cooked and well presented. The bistro is spotlessly clean and the staff helpful and pleasant. If you’ve got little ones there’s a play area at the back which is pretty well soundproofed for those of us that don’t. We’ve definitely found our new place for breakfast

What a fantastic friendly restaurant and play area, we regularly kayak in Llangollen and this is our favourite place to eat with our daughter, there always friendly and helpful and very welcoming, opening up the play area for our littlen even when it quiet, can't praise them enough to put a smile on our little angel face

We have visited this restaurant a number of times and always come back. I highly recommend it especially to families as there is a soft play area to keep children entertained. Our daughter loves coming here to play. The staff are always so kind and welcoming and the food is great. We definitely recommend it.

Llangollen is always a welcome stopover and this time our breakfast at S&G; bistro made our visit even better. My wife and children had Eggs Royale and I had the traditional welsh breakfast. All beautifully cooked and presented by the restaurants friendly staff. Highly recommended.

This the third time of visiting this excellent restaurant.On Sunday 1st December called in for the Sunday lunch,which exceeded our expectations,this being the first such lunch I have been able to eat for over 5 years after throat cancer treatment. Cooked to perfection,first class presentation and served with a smile.

Found this place quite by mistake and decided to try Sunday Lunch. Absolutely amazing! I had beef & my friend lamb. The roasties were out of this world. Extraordinary staff. Made stopping at Llangollen memorable!!

My wife and I came across this restaurant for a brunch. What a gem? The inexpensive full breakfast was generous and so well cooked. The staff were attentive and very welcoming. Nothing is too much for them. If you have small children, there is a spacious parent's dining and play area too. A big thank you to the catering team. By far one of the best dining experiences in recent weeks. We will certainly be returning soon.

I come here often and have never disliked anything I've eaten. The pizzas are brilliant and you can pick and choose your toppings. This time I had a simple cheese burger but still it was delicious and filling. Everything is spot on. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Here we are again, in our favourite bistro. As we said, we came back and we were happy to see some very big changes when it comes to the menu. The diversity of the dishes doubled in size which gave us the chance to try out 4 course menu. The starters we had came not long after we ordered them and they were amazing! The Caesar and Salmon and avocado salad were huge and the freshest we’ve had! The sea bass and my spaghetti Carbonara were out of this world! After all of that you can imagine how full we were, however we ordered desserts so we can have a sweet finish to our one of a kind experience. Me and my husband couldn’t eat much of it as we were full enough and the size of them was pretty big, however we didn’t regret it.

We liked the look of the menu here, so decided to return for dinner. On approach the staff were all sitting around a table inside, and there were no customers inside. We couldn't see the hygiene rating on the door, so we decided against going inside.

We’ve been coming the the S&G; Bistro since the cafe we would go to closed down. I don’t know why we didn’t come to S&G; earlier because the entire atmosphere and choice and quality of the food is spot on. The menu and specials are straight out of the canteena of a relaxed Mediterranean island.

Having read some bad reviews, I felt they didn't reflect my experience at all. A family of 3 stopped for dinner about 5.15 on a Saturday evening. We were the only ones in so had a pick of tables. The service was great, nothing was to much bother and all the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Popped in for breakfast but after seeing someone else eating a salad I decided on the smoked salmon and avocado salad. Great choice! Absolutely delicious, generous in size and everything crispy and fresh. Staff were really friendly and everything perfectly clean. Highly recommend

Everything about this place was horrendous. The atmosphere. The service, The food. The muzak. And the ill-mannered manager who slapped an extra charge of £3.95 on the bill for our 13 year-old grandson checking on his younger brother in the play area for five minutes as there was no noticeable supervision. I wouldn't recommend this rip-off anachronistic eyesore to anyone.

We had the best steak in years at S&G; Bistro the other evening with homemade peppercorn sauce, very pleasant and attentive staff, we recommend this place to everyone who is looking to have a very good meal....

We popped over to Trevor to plan a narrowboat holiday for our family. On the way back I decided to call in Llangollen for lunch. It was very busy due to a motorcycle show, we found this restaurant by chance and were pleasantly surprised.

Visiting Llangollen with our friends visiting from Australia, we popped in for a cuppa, what a wonderful place, it was, smart, clean and tidy. We ordered our drinks and could not resist the homemade scones, jam and cream, enjoyed by all. Good choice of food and drinks on the menu, staff were so welcoming and we were served promptly. Great atmosphere, we enjoyed ourselves and we will definitely be returning soon.

Me and my wife visited again S&G; Bistro and we were not disappointed again, perfectly cooked steak and a lovely seafood risotto made our night perfect.

The Chicken Alfredo I had was fabulous! The mashed potatoes were soo smooth and creamy. The best have had. My husband was also very pleased with the size of the Mixed Grill he ordered. We will be definitely coming back, so we can try something new.

I revisited and realised they have recently got a new menu, and wow there was so much variety. I had the chicken and chorizo risotto, and it was amazing. My mother had the Spanish style sea bass, and she loved it! Food didnt take long, and the service was quick and friendly!

Went here with my friends before heading out somewhere else for dessert, i really enjoyed my time in there. The staff were lovely and made sure everything was good, the food there is very flavourful. Loved the atmosphere, 100% recommend it. Also there is a play area, which i was surprised by not many places have those, i think its great for birthday parties and anyone with kids

Fantastic stop off once again. We visited at the start of the week and realised that they had new menus with a variety of new meals on there. Perfect opportunity to try something new, couldn't resist trying the Spanish style sea bass which was so so tasty, definitely recommend!! Also great selection of desserts but was too full to try them so I will be back! Thank you again for amazing service and food!

We were a group of 8 people and we were looking for a good place to have our dinner at. The board with the menu written on it caught our attention and we decided to go in. Every one of us had a different dish including a pasta, pizza, risotto, salmon and steak which was cooked exactly as I asked for (medium rare). We were surprised to find such a cozy place with reasonable prices and amount of food you can only dream to find in other restaurants.

We visited for a quick lunchtime snack, I should have guessed when the rest of the town was very busy and this establishment was empty. The food order was only for two things a sandwich and a toastie, when it arrived we had two toasties, it was at best mediocre with a little shriveled salad. But the worst was when my wife went to the ladies toilet I will attempt to describe how bad they were. My advise is to avoid this venue.
