Café 14 in Cardiff

Very nice breakfast, but there drinking chocolate is second to none, friendly staff very helpful would have given a 5* only because of I slice of bacon prefer 2 and have one egg and not two but it's just my preference.

I was there for an engagement party, Bar Staff very friendly and efficient and a good atmosphere.

Expect to wait 20 mins for a portion of chips, just imagine grabbing that only having a 30 min break

Based next to the car park in the university hospital car park. If your waiting for someone or just want a brew before heading home then here's a great cafe. It has plenty of room both in the main cafe part and in the bar at the rear. Theres tv and pool and toys to keep your little ones entertained. Great place for chilling whilst you wait.

Two negative experiences. 1. Ordered a vegan salad a while ago. I expected a sizeable salad, but all I got was a very small portion with two slices of vegan sandwich cheese. Poor presentation, no dressing of any kind, just disappointing. 2. Ordered beans on toast with two extra eggs. I was asked how I want my eggs and was given option of poached or fried. I chose poached. A while later, at the time all my friends got their dish , the managed told me the chef cannot do poached eggs. (I mean seriously ????). And then my number was skipped and I had to go and ask twice. They were only preparing my food the second time I checked, and the chef wasn’t even sure what my dish was. Refuse to go there again and do not recommend.

If you're visiting UHW it's well worth visiting Cafe14. Nice atmosphere and good food. Excellent value.

Cafe in hospital grounds..... don't expect anything spectacular!

Being on duty to bring in and take home a visitor to day surgery involves a lot a waiting, and Cafe 14 is a welcome home for several hours. They serve coffee, light snacks, light meals and beer! Service with a smile too 🙂

Friendly, standard food and decent drinks

Food isn't amazing, and the staff look like they don't want to be there.

The building and decor are a bit tatty but the food and drink are good.

Queues are often long at lunch as they only ever have one person serving. Food is not bad.

Always welcoming food is very good.
