Best scampi and chips! The fish was excellent too!

The best chippy in Carlisle. Friendly staff and always welcoming when you walk in through their door. Food is always amazing too. I took home x2 pieces of homemade Steak Pie for my parents to try (I don't live in Carlisle) and they couldn't get over how much meat there was in each piece. Excellent value for money.

Good service I use the cheap shop sometimes when I’m coming home I have a good crack with the owner and the staff are large fish and chips I have and a steak pie and the ground chips shop is opposite the Cumberland Infirmary You can park on the street when she going to the fish and chip shop to buy something. I think it’s a grand Shop. Food is good no pictures

Had to have large fish as I only eat cod and they don't do smaller cod, but it was delicious and the chips were perfectly cooked

Follow the queue... I pass this takeaway most days on my journey to and from work.. There is always is a queue. So we decided to try this takeaway and we were not disappointed.. We have tried many different foods from the menu, everything is cooked to perfection and is well presented and wrapped. The food and service here is nothing short of exceptional.. Even during the busiest of times the staff are always customer friendly, well organised and in control. Customers are always greeted with a warm welcome and feel valued.This is a credit to the clear leadership of the manager.. Caddys is our preferred takeaway, the best in Carlisle by far 😋

I went here tonight for the first time and I think it has to be one the best fish & chips I've ever had! The staff were efficient although not a smile to be seen but maybe they'd had a long day. I would definitely go back again! The batter was absolutely perfect, the fish was beautiful and the chips were delicious too!! Highly recommend 🙂

When ordering, you may miss what you ordered, although it does not count on the bill (that's a good thing) the Large portion comes with the number of fries, the amount of cheese or gravy is the same (I guess) as for the small or regular portion, it's a pity that the bill shows salt and vinegar shown (I understand that it helps when placing an order) but it doesn't help in finding out what you ordered, the service was quick and efficient, it's a pity that it's your fault and then they apologize to you anyway (weird) for me it's not crazy but I have no choice best regards in the area.

Always excellent food whether you click and collect or pop in on the way past. Definitely recommend.

Wow, must be the best looking and cleanest chippy that I have ever been in. Two large fish and a portion of chips = excellent . The fish had a good firm texture and the batter was nice and crispy. The chips were well formed non greasy with a lovely mouth feel . I would recommend this chippy to everyone 👍👍👍

I have had to edit my previous review of this chippy. The food is great. But my god the price i have just paid was scandalous. I asked for large scampi n chips. No large scampi only large chips. Bit of side salad and tartar sauce. £14.45!!!!!! I mean come on! Such a shame because the food is tasty. But thats nothing to do with a cost of living crisis thats just a rip off. Sadly won't be back.

Cracking chippy, the homemade steak pie is top notch.

Great and friendly staff, very clean. Quick service. Food was fantastic too. Great chunky fish and the chicken was crunchy skin which is my fave, yet succulent chicken inside and plenty of it. Really good portion sizes and fairly priced considering the climate. Will definitely be our new fish and chips take away. Once a month (hopefully)!

I do love their Fish and chips then make a wonderful steak pie it’s absolutely beautiful I buy extra pieces to take home with me so I can eat another day at the gravy is beautiful what more can I say just eat Enjoy yourself thank you my friend who make and prepare the food they are wonderful

We ordered 2 large fish and all I can say it is truly the best fish and chips in town! Not very oily. The breading is not thick and the fish is nice and fresh! You get what you pay for! Will definitely come back!

Walked in to a friendly welcome . I enquired about the food on offer and with a smile I got the full list of ingredients from a very proud fryer. Sold and it was delicious all boxed for me to return to my truck for a feast. I will certainly remember them when next overnight in Carlisle.

Great food, easy ordered via Web so collect bang on time, you only get what you pay for, if your looking for cheap greasy food don't go here, cos this is the best!

I waited in the rain for 20 minutes to get served staff were ok but to have to wait in the rain is no fun.

The food is very good however ive never had batter ive asked for everytime and only 1 fork between 3.. fortunately wont be waating my time a 3rd time driving up from newcastle to be dissapointed again!!

Although I live in Fife am originally from Brampton. Down for the day visiting the area and family. On the way home we fancied a chippy, came across the Friery, first time in it and would definitely use it again. Friendly staff and good and quick service. Had the Cod and chips, both were plentiful and freshly cooked. Great chippy. Thoroughly enjoyed our fish and chips.

Fantastic people and fantastic food

I always thought this chippy was ok, expensive but ok. Today i have been insulted and belittled by none other than the owner!! He has put up the prices yet again, and i thought he had given me a small portion instead of regular. Instead of explaining the prices had changed, he said "oh u wont want them then" and "if u cant afford them dont order them" embarrasing me infront of other people. Very arrogant and rude man. Ive stupidly still paid him as i didnt want to stand and argue. Wish i threw them back at him now!! I will NEVER be back....!!!

Got cod & chips here on Wednesday. I'm pleased I went in cos they were the best fish& chips I've had in a long time. If ever your near I recommend a visit you won't regret it.

This chippy is one of the cleanest chippy I've been in. Staff are very friendly. Most of all the food is excellent. Fish suppers are awesome.
