Visited this little gem of a cafe on Monday the 25th September,for my friends Birthday . Had a gorgeous afternoon tea for two ,the sandwiches and cakes were delicious !! The cafe itself had a great look and atmosphere .The owner was lovely 😊

a very good place to get a coffee and cake... also serves food. Customer service is ace, and the atmosphere is extremely chilled, It is a very good place to go relax and refuel and energies. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love this place. Lovely food. That I'm aware they hire the place for private parties (eg hen dos and baby showers). Normal prices and no issues around this. The toilet is outside the cafe so can be of difficult access for some people. I always go there as it's quiet and you can use their WiFi and work or study from there

I've had 2 mothers day afternoon teas now 2 years running and both times my mother has loved them, this is a little gold mine, lovely service and lovely food.

We had the afternoon tea today and it was lovely, would highly recommend.

Ordered the afternoon tea to take out. Amazing. The cakes were gorgeous and the scones were so light. I can highly recommend.

Lovely food. Great prices. Could do with a few more dining tables. Difficult to eat soup off a coffee table. Definitely go back though!

Not enough seating. No one acknowledged us on entrance, ended up leaving. Wouldn't revisit.

Just bought my chicken sandwich and chocolate brownie. Treat day. The Victoria sandwich looked delish. Call in look at the variety of food and I'll say it again. You can't beat homemade.

The sandwiches are always made with fresh very thick bread, the soup and cakes are homemade. Excellent value for money. Eat here quite a lot and always worth the trip.

Went for lunch with a friend as seen so many good reports. We really enjoyed it, only problem was I had soup, tasted great, but not very hot, didn't say anything as staff were very busy. My friend had a sandwich, chicken, which was very full and tasty, the salad with it was good too. We decided to have the Bakewell tart, which I must say was excellent. A lovely homely atmosphere and will go again

Lovely little place with home baked cakes, superb buttermilk scones, tasty coffee & a range of sandwiches all to be had at a very very fair price. You can also choose from a wide variety of gifts all at good prices.

I visit Buttermilk most mornings for my daily hot chocolate. Sometimes I treat myself to a cake. The cakes are all home made in the tea room and they are very well reasonably priced. Lovely friendly service from Helen and Cath. The Christmas Viennese mince pies went down a treat over Christmas. Highly recommended.

Recently refurbished, this is a lovely little place to stop for a freshly brewed cuppa and a home made cake indulgence! The pleasant interior offers comfy sitting, home style table and chairs just made to sit around and chat. A great selection of home baked treats and delicious cakes at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff who cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Love this little cake shop cafe , I always go out of my way to go there when the mood takes me ! Great prices run by a lady with her mother, just a great place to take the weight off your feet. Child friendly too !

Arrived to an unfriendly welcome even though there was only a couple of people inNot asked if there was any perticular sandwich we’d like , just came out ( already made) We had to go and find the woman toask for more drinks and got a frosty yes , it really spoilt it

This has got to be the most relaxed place to go for homemade snacks and cakes which are fresh and absolutely devine !! Its friendly and cosy and you aren't rushed at all.

A wonderful place to come and chill out, toddler and child friendly with toys to play with so they don't get bored. Fantastic food especially the sandwiches, the bread was so fresh and uncut which is something you just don't find anymore. Definitely somewhere I will be visiting frequently and even taking the grandkids for a treat......the Victoria sponge was out of this world, home made didnt last until the evening had it with a cup of tea when I got home lol. It's like having coffee and cake at home with your friends. Small seating area, but you aren't made to feel rushed. The sandwiches and cakes are just devine.

Ive only ever been in this 1 time but the staff were extremely polite and respectful even though there was loads going on

A belated afternoon tea treat for my birthday from my good friend. She had booked. We had a lovely time. Tasty dainty sandwiches, chicken, corned beef and cheese with a little salad. Beautiful scones with cream and jam and gorgeous little cakes, all homemade. Choice of tea or coffee. Lovely ladies serving and good atmosphere.

We originally stumbled on this place after looking for somewhere to go for breakfast on Highfield Road. There are plenty of establishments in this area now and so we have slowly tried them all out. Unfortunatly we had already ordered drinks before realising the food menu is very compact and that the only breakfast option was toast, crumpets and teacakes (although very reasonably priced). We reluctantly resorted to some of the sandwich options which were very good.

Fabulous home made cakes, coffee and wonderful service.. very comfortable place to chill out. go very often and always made to feel at ease. Very welcoming... a local retreat.....

A most wonderful tea and toast and Kath makes the best Bakewell Tart in the country and always has a smile on her face, best service ever I even got a mini bakewell made to order, Helen is fantastic and she makes milkshakes to die for.

Food at its best, it is all home made, cakes scones and fresh sandwiches. Not a place for greasy bacon and egg but a really great place for a brew, scone or an afternoon tea

Stumbled across this delightful cafe and was not disappointed. A lovely welcoming environment with a lovely shabby chic decorative style to it. Gorgeous home made orange and current scones with hot good quality coffee. Comfy seating and great attention to detail from the furniture to the cups and of course the food.

Buttermilk is a lovely welcoming cafe, very homely inside. The coffee and cakes are delicious and the staff are really friendly. Its also very reasonably priced.

Helen & her mum create a family friendly atmosphere with delicious homemade cakes. Nothing is too much trouble. I often call in with my young grandchild after the school run. As there's plenty of toys for her to play with I can sit back, relax & enjoy a lovely cup of coffee with a toasted teacakes. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area

Buttermilk is not a very big establishment so when we visited with family for afternoon tea it was a bit cramped around the tables to say the least. The sandwiches were just tiny triangles of ham, cheese, egg and salmon all heaped together on the plate and although they were tasty, presentation could have been better. The selection of cakes and scones we were given were very good. The staff were not very attentive to our needs and the service somewhat offhand. Doubtful if we will visit here again.

Great little cafe not far from my Aunty's. Very quiet and the lady was very friendly. We when in to use the WiFi and spend nearly 1 hour where just chatting among ourselves. The coffee was really good, and she had lots of sweets to chose from. I would go back.

Lovely Café, spotted it the night before and came back for breakfast, also bought a nice sign from the shop as they sell lovely things for the home.

We bought sandwiches here for lunch and complained and the lady did not want to correct the error. She did eventually but through gritted teeth. Very poor service.

My friend and I have been calling in Buttermilk every Tuesday for the last 5 months. We love it! Lovely surroundings to have Home made cake and a brew. The best place in Blackpool to have a chin wag.

I booked afternoon tea for five of us. We are all ladies in our seventies and eighties. One of our party was celebrating her 80th birthday and also the fact that she was going on a trip of a lifetime.Whilst the sandwiches lacked a little in elegance (Could have done with the crusts cut off and perhaps made into fingers) they were plentiful with tuna mayo , chicken, ham and egg mayo fillings cut into triangles on brown and white bread. The cakes were lovely with mini victoria sponge coffee and walnut and iced fancies. There was also mini scones with fresh jam and cream. Fresh brewed tea and coffee was inc. in the price of £6.50 per person. Nothing wrong with the value or the food. This is just a personal opinion but I felt that they let themselves down by not being a bit more customer friendly. No-one came to the table to see if everything was o.k. No-one asked if we needed more teas or coffees. it was quite cold inside the cafe but the atmosphere was slightly colder. No-one asked what we were celebrating. it all seemed a bit impersonal.

Lovely atmosphere, warm and welcoming. The coffee & walnut cake was so perfect and the scone was just like gran used to make. Definitely worth a visit - or two or three!

Buttermilk has only been open for about 5 weeks. It's a lovely cafe with a difference. It sells high quality gifts as well. They have a good selection of coffees, mocha, latte etc. They also have a huge choice of the most deliciously naughty cakes, scones, and ice creams. I was positively drooling!.They also do sandwiches if you don't want to be too naughty. The cafe is small and cosy and has comfortable chairs and a leather sofa if you really want to chill out. It is a great place if you are looking for somewhere for a quiet chat or just to relax without having to compete with blaring music or TV's. Highly recommended.
