Este es un buen café para un café de la mañana. Hemos visitado en muchas ocasiones. Las tazas de café son pequeñas y es bastante caro, pero el ambiente es bueno y los baños deben ser los más agradables de Edimburgo.

Great little cafe with very tasty coffee and cake. Nice stop after a long walk.

I went to this cafe last year a couple of times and I was so happy. I came back today with my sister and we felt uncomfortable. The lady at the counter was so unprofessional, she is glasses, I don't know her name. The greek guy was really kind.

It became our indispensable stop in Newtown with its wonderful atmosphere and wide and diverse menu.

Very chic and stylish coffee house. Very good cappuccino topped with powdered chocolate. Had the small size and enjoyed every sip. They offer some pastries, cakes sandwiches and snacks on display.

Lovely friendly staff. This has become my go to for grabbing a hot drink before work.

Burr and Co in Edinburgh was not a good experience. The coffee wasn't good, and the juice wasn't fresh. I was disappointed.

I was disappointed with my visit to this café. Unfortunately, cleanliness seems to be an issue here. The surfaces and floors are not cleaned after each customer, which leaves the place feeling less than tidy. Additionally, I ordered a Freddo Cappuccino, but it was far from what I expected. It was clear that they either don’t have the right equipment or lack the know-how to make it properly. If they can’t deliver a genuine Freddo Cappuccino, it might be better to remove it from the menu altogether.

Se cayó ya que ambos estábamos hambrientos pero no tuvimos mucho tiempo debido a los compromisos. Baguettes en exhibición se veían bien llenas y frescas. Divide un baguette entre nosotros y 2 cafés. Llegó al instante - comida y bebidas deliciosas y cuesta moderado para New Town Edinburgh . Servicio brillante y sin alborotos. Gran lugar para saber acerca de!

We had high expectation trying a full scottish breakfast but there wasn't any. Few food choices but good enough. Our daughter's hot chocolate was very good.

I like coffee there, the sandwiches are delicious too.. it is a good option for a breakfast

We did our breackfast here… sandwichs were really good, bread soft, tasty eggs and sausages. Our cappuccino and American was good too. Place is nice and the attendant was very kind. Is a little far from old downtown, but if you visit the new town I do recommend come here

Terrible carrot cake Abysmal service The people at the till need some customer service training !!

El estándar de servicio, la calidad del café, la gama y la disponibilidad de alimentos han tomado una inmersión. Hoy, antes del mediodía, los alimentos expuestos no estaban disponibles como «ya vendidos». Las tazas de café ahora son minúsculas. Mientras esperábamos por nuestro café y comida, fuimos por un poco de agua pero no había vasos. Al preguntarle a un miembro del personal si estos se podían reponer, a mi esposa le dijeron que tenía que hacer cola con todos los que hacían nuevos pedidos, por lo que 10 minutos después pudo preguntar de nuevo y obtener una copa. Es bueno que la comida y el café tarden tanto en llegar para darle tiempo para esto; servicio que cae muy por debajo de lo esperado.

Was very busy at 11am this morning had nice breakfast roll and coffees etc was little bit disappointed as not alot of staff on which I may add very very efficient and polite hopefully this can be rectified as usually meet friends there most Saturday morning

don’t go here for coffee. Don’t £3.80 on a skinny cappuccino to take away and it was like lukewarm milk. It honestly tasted like they forgot to put coffee in it

Very good food for breakfast, even if coffee is not the best I have tested in Edinburgh. The service is very good, with high attention to details, the environment is very clean and warm. Appreciated!

We walked in off the street and it was a wonderful surprise. It had a really good vibe and the coffee was outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and eager, the quickly organised us seating - by shuffling some chairs around - as it was really full. Two of us had the chicken tikka wrap - highly highly recommended and one of us had the mozzarella, pesto and tomato baguette - also excellent. First time ever I have been offered a range of things to add to my mocha and the dark chocolate was amazing. Overall a fantastic spot for our light meal and coffee. We will definitely becoming regulars. Bravo Burr & Co!!!!

A small café in downtown Edinburgh where you can sit comfortably. The coffee tasted excellent and the cake was also great. An absolute tip (if you like peppermint) is the After Eight cocoa (of which I had two cups). Very nice service, prices OK. The toilets are very clean and in the basement.

Meeting friends so decided to nip in here for a coffee and decided to give it my ultimate test of a fried egg roll. On this, hugely dissapointed, the small roll had been heated drying it out to much and for £4.50, you get 1 egg. £4.50 for a small dry roll and one egg is a ridiculous price, even in a tourist trap in the middle of Edinburgh. The coffee, whilst OK, was nothing special, somewhere betwean fruity, trendy coffee and just Nescafe. There are better places in the imediate vacinity, so not for us I'm afraid.

This place used to be great, but last few times have been disappointing. Poor standard coffees of recent, don't know if it's untrained staff or what. On recent visit, coffee was spilled by barista and then topped up with milk. It should have neen remade as it was weak and was not a flat white. Probably should have addressed at time but had already waited a while during a time that was not busy.

Worst service i have ever had .took 30 mins for a cold croissant to travel ten feet. Coffee finished 20 minutes before, understaffed overwhelmed staff.

We discovered this gem of a coffee shop quite by accident as we were nearby and found it on google, and we were so glad we did! It was busy but cosy and nicely appointed. I like a strong black Americano and my wife a hot chocolate, both were delicious. The coffee was lovely and strong and full flavoured and my wife's hot chocolate was frothy and marshmallow topped. We enjoyed the most delicious piece of moist lemon early grey tea cake with it. We enjoyed this place so much we were back the next day! Highly recommended.

Lovely festive atmosphere from the outside but chaotic on the inside. Ordered a salmon croissant and pre made roll which took over 40 mins to come (the staff were nice but clearly overwhelmed but unsure what the hold up was as everything was pre made?). Definitely not one to consider for a quick bite.

Lovely building, just wanted to stop in for a coffee and a cake. We were rushed out by the staff as they were trying to clear away our table before our food was finished, understand that they had a large group come in, but didn’t expect to be rushed out.

Lovely place to sit and enjoy a barista made coffee. We enjoyed the window seat to watch the world go by. Service was a little slow and the table could of benefited from a wide down. This coffee shop is joined to the intercontinental hotel. Bathroom facilities were excellent - exceptionally clean.

Always pay a visit here to this small but amazing wee cafe beside the Intercontinental Hotel. Staff are super and the coffee / treats are always top quality.

A nice, cosy spot for a hot drink and light snack while walking along George Street. Definitely recommend the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows.

very very bad coffee, even though I asked for a lower temperature, the coffee that arrived was burnt and was about 100 degrees. I would have to sit in the cafe for another 20 minutes to drink it. wasted money and waste of time.

I really don’t know what it is about this place. I occasionally stop in for a breakfast of sorts and a coffee when I got the chance but that’s me done here. Last trip I had I remember the food being cold and tasteless and that the Millionaire shortbread was I’m guessing the most expensive on the planet… £4.50 for a small slice! Last time I took the scrambled eggs and toast back but had to go as time dictated… today I went for a breakfast roll and an oatmeal cappuccino which hit £8.00+. I had a go at it but had to stop as despite seeing the offerings in what looked like a hot case the sausages were cold. The oatmilk cap was great.. but once again I took the food back where the staff did apologise and offered to make it again but alas time was beating me. I didn’t even have time to wait for a refund. Just trying to eat hot food for breakfast instead of out of a packet… Hey I noticed that the cakes had also gone up in price! I feel sorry for the staff having to push this food as it’s not their fault and the server did seem genuinely concerned. I won’t be back and I think somebody here has to take ownership a bit more. There’s also no need to reply as I fear a “ because of Covid” might land.

A lovely place food is great.... And not as expensive as you would think. I always seems to get a seat. The coffee is excellent I like it strong....

整體用餐的環境很舒適 早餐的選擇種類也挺多的 我選擇flat white 咖啡居然是用這種玻璃杯裝有點訝異，手拿起來會燙，有握把的應該會比較好 草莓燕麥優格不錯吃 下次有來愛丁堡會再來

Fantastic coffee shop with a wonderful team that will always welcome you with a smile and some good conversation. Great coffee, lovely food and the best staff. Only criticism would be, please stop putting pickles in the salmon croissants/sandwiches. Because, why? Its just not good. Everything else, perfect. :)

Stopped for a little lunch on Sat 10 June. The table (outside) needed clearing which a waitress did but there was spilt coffee which she didn’t come back to wipe down -I had to ask for it to be wiped. We ordered a sandwich, toastie, tea and coffee. The sandwich came and we waited for another 5 minutes for the drinks - no milk for the tea, I had to ask, they then brought a pot of hot milk! Had to ask for the toastie which they clearly had forgotten. By the time it arrived my husband had almost finished his sandwich and my tea was cold. The chicken BLT was very tasty but the toastie was tasteless - might just as well have been eating cardboard! Considering this cafe is part of the George Hotel, would have expected a much better level of service. Tried to speak to a waitress as we were leaving to mention our dissatisfaction but she could barely speak English. Will certainly not be returning.

Came in for lunch with my wife & two doggies. All were welcome and the staff were lovely. Has a nice chilled out vibe. Both of us enjoyed our freshly made sandwiches and the coffee & Edinburgh tea was also tasty. Worth a trip for a quick bite.

Decent coffee. A bit fancy for a long sit to work, though when I asked, they were ok with me staying with my laptop. Pain au chocolate was delicious.

Coffee and tea were ok, and the staff were friendly. The seating area is a little cramped but we managed. The worst thing though were the pastries that pretend to be croissants. They mostly look the part, but they certainly don't feel or tast like croissants. No flaking, too dense, chewy, sweet. Avoid.

Amazing ambient and they have some sweet spots if you are planning to do some work with your laptop. Get usually crowded around 12-13.

Sitio con encanto y bien ambientado. Fuimos a desayunar y por lo que nos dijeron, ya no tienen menús para el desayuno. Lo que tienen, está en un vitrina en el mostrador (sándwiches, algo de bollería y los British roll). En general, está todo bastante bueno aunque es complicado sentarte ya que hay mucha afluencia.

Great spot for coffee lovers! The coffee is excellent, with a variety of options to choose from, and the baristas clearly know their craft. However, while the coffee is exceptional, the rest of the menu could use a bit of updating. The food options are somewhat old-fashioned and feel more like they belong in a traditional tea room than a modern coffee shop. One pro tip to keep in mind when visiting Burr & Co. is that you can order your coffee to be served in the hotel lobby, where there is usually plenty of seating available.

Almost missed this little gem of a cafe. I believe it's a part of the intercontinental. Must admit I hadn't heard of this place prior to "discovering" it on George Street. I recall they offer Caravan Coffee roasters based drinks (market blend). A nice balanced coffee and great all day drink. Lovely atmosphere to be drinking your morning coffee. Unfortunately the donut was a tad bit disappointing - dry, with a tasteless custard....maybe a bad batch, or day old... slightly unexpected. Overall however, a lovely cafe

We were expecting to have some sort of breakfast here as the premises looked lovely on the outside and the inside is nice to . However the bacon on display was old and grey looking ,we asked if they had more, " No we have to sell what's there"...I opted for a Scottish potato cake and sausage bap . The sausage was a very cheap plastic textured sausage and a heavily deep fried dried potato cake . Don't advertise breakfast if you can not cook it ! Don't display old reheated bacon , if you think you can cook it ,its an insult to the intelligence of your customers .

Was asked if I wanted side salad with my toastie. Said yes. Toastie was two small slices of bread, minimal cheese and thinest slice of onion, but no salad. When I asked about the salad I was told there was none. "Will I be charged for it?" "No it's free." Two women ( unknown to me the sales manager)at table behind then got a toastie & salad. I queried this and was told it's new staff and next time ask for sales manager. No reduction on bill. £5.25 for two thin slices of pan bread, min cheese & onion. Disappointing.

This coffee shop manager should be ashamed of themselves l have never seen organised chaos like it. Dirty tables everywhere staff falling over each other behind the counter l was waiting for a table and people were just walking in and using the toilets then grabbing the tables. Organised chaos. I eventually got a table then l could order the coffees and cakes l then had to clean the table as the staff were to busy falling over each other behind the counter. Waitress brought the coffees and cakes and the cake wasn’t the one we ordered. There charging £4.70 for a slice of cheesecake which isn’t even homemade. if your visiting Edinburgh and happen to be on George Street stay clear of this supposed coffee shop 0 out of 10 Big improvements required

Lovely cafe but ignore the old menu photos. The breakfast menu is just what is at the counter. No bigger, more substantive breakfast items. Seating is open, just claim a table when you arrive

Excellent quality produce and coffee but the service was excruciatingly slow!

I regularly use the Intercontinental which glides on smooth professionalism. This venue could learn a lot from Starbucks when it comes to organisation. Repeated visits over the past few years have failed to see anything other than chaos. Service COULD be on a par with The Delauney and Bellanger, however staff stand around ignoring uncleared tables and seem unfamiliar with their roles. Sitting for ten minutes shows a high number of potential customers walking out when they are confronted with the mayhem.

Met up with my brother to celebrate his 60th and my mums 80th, with my sister from Australia. The chicken and bacon roll was so delicious we returned the next day to have same again. Staff are amazing. So happy, helpful and friendly.

Coffee was good but really poor customer service. The 5 deep team were busy rescuing an already incorrect table order that it took an age for my coffee to go. The staff talk to each other whilst taking your order and then completely miss what you've requested. Senior management berate staff in earshot. It's not one I'd return to.

First visit this morning. Walked in. Stood in front of 2 staff at counter who completely ignored us (as if we were invisible). Eventually with an ‘excuse me can we order’ from us we were able to order. Went to table. Waited what appeared to be an age for coffee to be brought to the table (how hard is it) during what was an quiet period in the morning. Coffee was superb. Service woeful. Lack of customer engagement, lack of customer focus, way too slow service. George Hotel, sort this out.

I visited this store recently where i overheard who i'm assuming was the manager making fun and talking down to a member of staff, she was acting very immaturely and slamming things about as she worked i believe her name was katie and my overall experience here was apalling -this is suppose to be a 5 star hotel and cafe and after the experience i had here which left me extremely uncomfortable i won't be returning

The sandwiches were great with good chewy bread and well seasoned ingridents. The beetroot vegan option worth a trial. The cake was really moist and not too sweet. Coffee was with good aroma and temperature. Tea was a bit off as just one teabag was not strong enough for the whole pot. A very self service place including seating and chairs. The counter had ran out of options and refill time took way longer than customer's queque. Very busy place indeed.

Nice cafèe with really great Tea and cake. Just a little small and only few places to sit at with more then 2 people but thats alright.

Wouldn’t recommend,sat outside today at the only table available which had still to de cleared,my wife and daughter went inside to order gave the table number said to the girl about clearing the table she said she would get someone to clear it.The waiter came out with our food placed it on the table and walked away my wife asked him could he clear the table he turned round and said I don’t have my tray and walked away, there were only two cups,saucers,and two plates,plus no cleaning the table,won’t be back.

Called in here for a drink and it is quite expensive. I don’t mind paying if the surroundings are ok but we sat outside and all round the table was littered with cigarette ends and no one came and wiped down the table. How long does it take to give the place a sweep up. Service was ok and it’s in a nice location.

We had high expectations that this apparently upmarket cafe which is linked to the highly regarded George Intercontinental Hotel, would deliver well for us. On a warm Monday afternoon, we were looking forward to a good choice of refreshing cold drinks. We placed our order for lemon and ginger drinks from the very limited menu, only to be told a few minutes later that this drink is out of stock. The immediate thought we had at that point was, how on earth is this possible on a not particularly busy Monday afternoon? Indeed, the next thought was, how long has this drink been unavailable for? With rapidly diminishing enthusiasm for being in the place, which was in need of a good tidy and cleaning of tables, we consulted the menu again. A Diet Coke for me and for my wife, a tea without milk. Surely that wasn’t asking too much. The Coke was absolutely fine but the tea, sadly was not made with boiling water and only lukewarm. This is way below the standard that we expect. The mass outlets achieve serving piping hot drinks by the millions every week, so an upmarket cafe with prices to match on Edinburgh’s George Street, should be getting this right every time. In it’s favour, the staff were friendly and apologetic for our disappointment. A final point is the depleted urn containing water and lemon pieces was in dire need of emptying and re-filling and chilling. The water was tasting peculiar when my wife sampled some of it. In conclusion, a great disappointment and we are not feeling any incentive to return anytime soon.

A very good iced oatmilk latte & a scone with butter & jam. They also have tables outside, which we enjoyed. The sandwiches are being served warm! We‘d recommend!

Nice place for a business coffee, if a little cramped
