Burger and Shake in Camden

I have been dining here since 2017. They offer excellent Burgers with high quality meat. I also enjoy their cheesy fties and the macaroni and cheese very much. Their grilled cheese sandwiches and fish fingers are very delicious as well. I wash these food down with variety of milkshakes both regular and infused with alcohol. I wish this business to survive the COVID-19 Disaster.

The New York burger I had was very good and home made with great fillings. I am not usually a burger fan but this was excellent. My wife also enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich and the shakes in their steel containers were really good (and large) So...it is what it says..However, the service, considering it was a quiet period could have been more attentive and if mine host could leave his laptop at the back table to watch if people were ready to order...or had finished it would be appreciated. Plenty of competion around here so what is needed is more atmosphere and small establishments need that extra personal touch. The quality was really great and with that little extra touch it could have been a great experience. We will return so hopefully it will be with a cheerful greeting this time.

Made a reservation weeks in advance and asked for a booth or table in the corner, we were given a table in the middle of the room. Why weren’t we given our preference? A booth was available and another couple were seated in a four-seater booth. The diner wasn’t even very busy. It ruined the whole experience.

Had burger salad and alcohol shake. Quick service (wasn’t very busy), tasty food and good drink. What do you need more?

Unfortunately not very nice. The burger I ordered, medium rare, had a rancid smell about it, couldn't eat it. The salad was no better, in fact more like a bowl of coleslaw, soggy and dripping with nasty dressing. The premises where tired and very untidy and the staff not very welcoming.

I have often walked past but never been in. Four of us went for lunch and all had something different. We all loved it. The burgers are cooked to perfection, not cremated as you experience in so many places these days.Onion rings were lovely and a large glass of Pinot Grigio at GBP 6.50 is not bad. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy a quick lunch in the Russell Square/Bloomsbury area.

We were so excited this place. The sign was so cool. We went at 9:30, 30 minutes before the expected closure. They greeted us by saying they were closed, which was their first mistake. They were supposed to close 30 minutes later, at 11, but they lied. We patiently accepted their ridicule and said we would take our food to go. As we politely waited, they tried harder to push us out. When we finally received our food, we left and paid accordingly. As we returned to our hostel, we could not wait to eat food. However, you can imagine our disappointment when we opened our burgers and found that they were raw. Cold, red, and umcomfortably bloody. This is not the kind of place you should ever eat. please do whatever you can to eat ANYWHERE else.

Today was the 2nd time I visited here. The burgers are really good. Fries a little cold and the mac n cheese lacked sufficient cheese and the pasta was a little too "al dente" for my liking. Service was good- friendly, patient and gave banter.

Nous sommes venus un soir, nous avons pris a emporter. La serveuse française est très sympa. Nous avons pris deux cheeseburger et pulled pork juste excellent ! Nous avons tellement aimé que nous somme revenu. Je vous conseille de prendre a emporté aussi bon et surtout bcp moins cher car il applique un pourboire de 12% quand on mange sur place ça fait quand même cher!

Hemos estado caminando por este lugar porque no parecía lo suficientemente británico. Bueno, estábamos listos para comer algo de estilo americano. El macarrones con queso, un montón de queso, y los batidos eran geniales. El menú tenía hot dogs y hamburguesas y otras cosas atractivas que no probamos esta vez.

Even though this place is small they have a lot of pride in the food, nothing is too much trouble. My wife wanted the chicken burger but rather than a burger she wanted a chicken breast with all the trimmings, no problem. The chicken club was amazing, the jalapeños slaw gave it that little bit of zing which complimented the whole thing. Fabulous find.

My husband LOVED this. You need to ask for burger to be cooked WELL DONE, as mot of UK cooks medium. He also ordered a chocolate shake, make with peanut butter, that he loved. The onion rings were your typical good onion rings. I ordered a small salad, but didn't have much of an appetite for anything. If you need a good US burger, be sure and order well done. The meat was quality.

Went here in the middle of the afternoon. They were open but no one was around - a few people seemed to be in the kitchen but no one emerged. Waited around 10 minutes for service before giving up and leaving.

I got a standard cheeseburger with a chili fries for a side. The burger was good and the burger patty is cooked as a medium rare which is perfect for me. Chili fries is okay and I appreciate the amount of ground beef and bean in the chili itself. The price is a bit on the high side, but perfectly acceptable for the location and the food quality.

We had two great burgers, unfortunately they do not come with chips and that makes the prices not so clear.. sweet fries were good as well, as the onion rings. On the contrary, the lady that took care of us was very rude from the very first to the very last moment. They presented the bill with the service charge included in the total so that it was too difficult to remove it before paying, even if it was definitely not deserved. 5 stars for food and 1 for service , that makes the 3 stars we are assigning.

We booked a table here for three people and were told that they would hold our table for 15 minutes. We came in 10 minutes after our original booking time, so still within the 15 minutes holding time and were greeted by someone who seemed to be the manager/owner with ‘you’re 10 minutes late’.

Came here for evening food when staying down the road and wasn’t disappointed. I had a hot dog which appeared freshly cooked and was just fine. For desert I had a chocolate fondant which was perfectly cooked. Admittedly 60 year old business man probably isn’t in their target market but I liked the ambience of the place and the cosy nature. Service was excellent and friendly and cost was very reasonable.

I spend a lot of nights in London with work. This is my go to burger place. It’s small has a real American diner feel with a great menu. The staff are always friendly and they serve alcoholic milkshakes!

The food was absolutely delicious especially the burgers. All freshly cooked and was very tasty. I had a vanilla milkshake cheeseburger with fries and onion rings. The service was quick and efficient. Prices were reasonable for the food and drinks. Would definitely recommend.

We were staying nearby, (Tavistock Square), and this looked like a family friendly option. Grandparents, my 7 y/o, and I were all happy that we chose this restaurant! The lady who served us was really friendly and chatty, and made a big effort to talk to my daughter, and the food was delicious! The Windsor Burger was incredibly juicy and satisfying, and it the oreo cheesecake was enormous (shared between 2 adults and a child). Service was promt and efficient, and everything's reasonably priced.

When my family visited here, the place was quite quite which was a bit surprising given the busy part of London it's in. The menu had a great selection of Burgers, Hot dogs and milkshakes to choose from, they also have a decent selection of beers and largers to choose from and making a choice was genuinely difficult. Our waitress was very friendly and when we finally made our choices the food arrived really quickly and it was delicious, the burgers were cooked to perfection, sweet potato fries were full of flavour and the jalapeño poppers were the best I've had in years. We would definitely visit again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place

Wilden eigenlijk naar het Indiaas restaurant even verderop. Was dicht dus toen hier gegeten. Niet teleurgesteld! Leuke en vlotte bediening, prima burgers, goede patat en lekkere shakes. En dat voor een nette prijs. En top: collega vergat zijn sjaal, dag later even langs gelopen en sjaal was keurig bewaard en opgeborgen.

Been here a few times over the years (I work nearby) and always had a good experience. For me, the burgers are better than GBK, Byron and way ahead of fast food joints like Five Guys and Leon. Not far off Honest Burger and MeatLiquor. The service is swift and the take away offers great value. On my last visit - had a perfect medium rare cheeseburger (filling on it's own), accompanied by an above average portion size of fries. Service very friendly too!

Went last Wednesday. Specifically chose a club sandwich as it came with lots of sauces, but had so little sauce that I had to add extra may twice. Won't be going back.

Had a meal here over the weekend and will definitely be back next time I am in London! The food and service were both excellent! The chilli fries were outstanding and I would personally recommend the Jalapeño burger!

This is a tiny little restaurant serving excellent burgers. They are cooked to order with some excellent topping options. Service was super friendly and the prices were super reasonable for London. The alcoholic shakes are wonderful !

Mi esposa y yo decidimos almorzar en Burger and Shake inicialmente debido a la proximidad a nuestro hotel, sin embargo, el menú se veía genial y no nos decepcionó. El menú era extenso y estaba dirigido a comedores de carne, vegetarianos y amantes de los pescados. Está bastante concurrido, por lo que algunos comensales potenciales fueron rechazados ya que el restaurante es bastante "acogedor". El servicio fue excelente y la comida llegó más rápido de lo esperado y era encantador. Sin duda recomiendo Burger and Shake para un almuerzo sin pretensiones.

A little off the beaten track, this small restaurant is perfect for a quick, tasty meal. We tried the fishfinger sandwich and the buffalo wings, both of which were super. The wings in particular impressed - proper sauce and served, as they should be, with blue cheese dressing and celery. Shouldn’t forget the shakes, which were fabulous.

Il posto è semplicissimo, assolutamente informale, pulito e ordinato, con un sottofondo di musica non assordante. Ottimi gli hamburger, il personale è sorridente, preciso e veloce. Buona anche la scelta delle birre. Le porzioni sono generose. I prezzi buoni. Niente a che vedere con i locali per turisti di cui è pieno il quartiere. Tornerò senz’altro.

We, a family of 5 stopped here on the way to Euston Station. We ate burgers and fries that were very good quality and large. The service was good and staff friendly, however in rip-off London the bill for 5 burgers, fries, 4 soft drinks and 2 beers came to an almighty £80.

Visited here last year and loved it. Went last night and had an opposite experience. Sold out of at least 5 items on menu. Chilli nachos served with cold chilli. Chicken burger ok- Husband asked for no sauce and I asked for no tomatoes. Got them the wrong way round. Expensive compared to other burger places + 12.5% charge for eating in. Based on cost would have expected something special, this was certainly not.

For my friend and i’s last night in London before we head back to Australia (home) we were walking to our hostel and on our way we saw this place and walked in. The lady that works there I wish I got her name such a beautiful soul, smiled the whole time and when she brand the food omg the food is yummmmmm very filling. An impromptu liaison on a cut-through from Russell Square to Euston in early April saw me initially walk past and then walk back to check the contents of Burger & Shake. I'm glad I did as it's burgers and other offerings seem to be very accomplished of the ilk.

We ate at this small Burger joint in Bloomsbury on a quiet Sunday afternoon. They were offering a special on burgers and fries to take out but we decided to eat in. Eating In cost more in the UK, something for an American to have to get use to..... anyway. We had a fancy burger called a Windsor and a Vegie burger. They were accompanied with Fries and onion rings. the Windsor Burger was actually very good. They claimed the beef is from Scotland. It was prepared medium rare (you cant get that in the states anymore for fear of salmonella) it blue cheese some lettuce and a tomato. The roll was better than the traiditional American hamburger bun. The Vegie burger had a portabella mushroom as the primary ingredient and a very good cheese. Overall, it was a very good hamburger and fries. They also had a Philly Cheese steak sandwich on the menu...but, coming from Philadelphia, I didn’t want to do that. The waiter however said that his favorite movie was Rocky and that he dreamed of running up the Art Museum steps!!

På vei dit passerer vi Burger & Shake, og måtte kikke innom. Kult sted, hyggelig betjening og det skulle vise seg å være vanvittig gode burgere til en billing oenge der også! For ikke å glemme shake’n til slutt! Beste både guttungen og jeg har smakt!

This is a small restaurant, but are big on service and satisfaction. The shakes were generous and excellent, and the burgers were big and expertly grilled. To be frank, I did not expect American style food to be this good in a small London eatery, but I was pleasantly surprised. These guys have got it figured out.

We asked for a well done burger which is hard to get, and it was almost medium. Yet, tasty and fast.

The burgers were very good and and there were a nice variety. The shakes including the adult shakes were also very good. We also tried the sweet potato fries which were done well, and the onion rings.

I have visited here ona few occasions when in the Bloomsbury area. The service is fast and the food is good. A gret independent restaurant. A fortnight earlier I arrived later at night and Burger and Shake was closed -the local competition (a chain) was nowhere near the quality that they serve.

Fairly quiet at lunchtime when we visited. Order of cheeseburger and pulled pork dog came quickly: no complaints about quality of food or service. Would certainly eat there again.

The first thing we noticed on sitting down was the dirty ketchup and other condiments. These should be cleaned at least once a day but had coagulated sauces around the rim and were quite off putting. The staff was not busy so they could have seen to these details. We had the veggie option. This was a 1980s style soggy iceberg lettuce leaf in a brioche bap with a mushroom and a piece of halloumi. It was bland and cost £7 or £8, expensive for what it was.

Really clean, atmospheric restaurant serving delicious burgers on a nice quiet street... I also had the sweet potato fries which were excellent! Only (minor) quibble is that they do not serve coffee! Great background music also!
