Fiancé ordered dinner as a surprise for my birthday. Ordered a couples meal and a complimentary dessert at 7pm. It's now over 10pm. Nothing from the restaurant. No updates, notifications, calls or emails. Tried calling the restaurant and it's constantly straight to voice mail. Cannot stress this enough. A V O I D ! absolutely dog sh!t service.

Worst food ever eaten, burgers tiny for price, better at Mcdonalds. Fries stone cold and couldn't get a fork through. Supposedly parmesan and truffle fries..had a tiny bit of cheddar on. Dirty fries come out as nachos with raw bacon and blob of cheese. No dips came out. Horrendous for the price.

I really wanted to enjoy this more. We’d booked to see an 815 evening film at the cinema next door and arrived at 7 (plenty of time we thought). The drinks service was quick, and we ordered food around 715. Despite there only being 4 other tables occupied (2 people at each table), the food took 45 minutes to arrive from ordering. There was no apology until I queried this given we had a film to see. When the food arrived, there was no gherkins as requested and the burgers were tasty but very over cooked and dry. Not the best experience topped off by paying an additional £1 to upgrade to a very light sprinkling of cajun on the chips, a serving that in reality could only have cost a few pence. When I complained, other diners turned around to me and made the same observations. It seems to me like they use great ingredients, but prioritise take away and delivery food at the expense of diners. I also suspect the kitchen person isn’t a properly trained chef given the fact that’s it was cooked to within an inch of its life. Such a shame as the portion size and flavour was good. We ended up rushing the food and got into the cinema (ridden with indigestion) seconds before the film started. With service this slow, they should have asked if we had a cinema booking. I can see why they don’t, any potential diner would likely leave if they thought they had to wait close to an hour for food. Not good enough unfortunately.

Staff were welcoming when we arrived and got served promptly. The menu is predominantly burger focussed, but if you enjoy a burger this is a class above most places. We all had different types of burger - different beef burgers and one chicken burger and all were lovely and a good sized portion. You can get sweet potato fries, chunky chips, thin cut, or also chips with a range of seasoning. It was all very tasty. They checked on allergies and clarified on sauces. There was no drinks menu, but the server was able to outline what they had. It wasn't too busy, with just 4 or 5 tables in use at the time, but they also do deliveries. For dessert was donut with different sauces and again this was a well sized portion.

We visited after the cinema and we’re very impressed with the service and the food. The waitress was lovely and the burgers delicious ( we had an original and an American). £11 for a burger and fries is very good value and the portions were big. A bit surprised that there is no wine on offer, however, on a hot evening a cold cider was just fine!

Service was poor from the start, my husband and I nearly walked out but we thought we would give them a try. I was given a Coke without a glass and had to ask for one, my husband gave me his and he waited 10 mins for his, we ordered the food but when it was served it was cold. We where the only ones in the place so there was no excuse for very slow service. They prioritised delivery’s over dine in’s. We won’t be going back and it’s not worth the money we paid for.

Having had a relatively positive experience before we decided to pay a visit one Saturday afternoon only to find, whilst it was well within the opening times on the door...it was locked. Before we left someone came out and explained the times were for takeaway (bit odd why you wouldn't explain that on the front door to your restaurant) and directed us to Dough&Co pizza restaurant next door to be served burgers there. The waitress was pleasant enough and our order was taken and drinks were brought swiftly before it all seemed to unravel.  We waited at nearly an hour to receive our food (It wasn't even busy). Even though other customers who arrived later had pizza/pasta, they were served food alot quicker and had eaten and gone by the time we even received ours. No one came to see if we wanted further drinks whilst we were waiting an eternity for 2 burgers. Surely these were going to be epic!! No apology for the wait was forthcoming once the burgers arrived, and rather unfortunately, the burger was ok but lukewarm at best. We did think about mentioning it, but we figured we'd waited long enough to eat after seeing another customer send theirs back because it was also cold! At no point did anyone come over to see if everything was ok or if we needed more drinks. Big improvements need to be made to the service speed and food quality before we consider going back.

Saturday at 16:45 and restaurant is empty, and I mean empty, no staff anywhere to be seen. Then a delivery driver comes in from outside and asks if we want to eat. He goes and tells staff who are congregated in a staff only area and are told that a waitress will be with us shortly. The chef appears a few minutes later and then suddenly spots us sat at a table and assures us a waitress will be out shortly and asks if he can get us drinks. Drinks arrive another 8 minutes later, don’t forget the restaurant is empty so they aren’t rushed. We place a food order with the chef after another few minutes and food is delivered fairly quickly but missing a side of onion rings. Chef even asked when he took the order if we wanted them same time as mains. All in all a very poor dining experience however the food we had was very good indeed. Can’t see it lasting if I’m honest.

My god I stood in that queue for 20 mins while the person behind the counter made TWO coffees. There was a queue of people in front of me so I decided to leave as I only wanted to buy a couple of bottles of water after a run and it’d have taken me longer to get the drinks that it did to run the 10k around the reservoir. 😂

Plenty of choice, hot and cold options. Plenty of tables which waiting staff kept up with, cleaning well between guests. Only disappointment were the cold mushrooms.

It has been many months since i visited this pub with my wife and relatives and it has taken sometime to get over what could be the worst dining experience in my life. We chose the al la carte menu, minimum of four people, to get to the point the food was horrible, absolutely disgusting and a pathetic amateur attempt at providing a prestige service. I did take this up with the manager, after a very heated discussion when he failed to accept the blame, he went on the defensive and eventually tried to manipulate the situation to his advantage by accusing me of making threats against him. The Olde Coach House has never been a great pub and even after a refurb it still looks and feels dank, I felt sorry for my mother in law and her sister who paid the £180 bill, they were robbed, we all were.
