Came for Mother day with my wife and our two mums. Food was generally very good except for the Yorkshire pudding and taking over an hour to get our food. Strangest thing though was the Mother Days 2 course menu special. We tried to order it to be told it was only for Mothers so I (as the only male in the party) couldn’t and yet my wife could (who funnily enough is not a mother either). It didn’t say on the specials menu this was only for Mothers, just that it was special for Mother’s Day. That they would have allowed my wife to order this when she isn’t a mother means this was straight out a sexist rule which doesn’t make any sense. Reminds me of the scene from Afterlife when Ricky Gervais tried to order a kids portion to be told he couldn’t. This was almost as funny as the waitress tried to defend this position. Luckily enough the Apple pie had run out anyway so I didn’t really care in the end. However this is just bad business. To top it off in the toilet there was a sign that mothers got a free glass of bubbly but our mothers weren’t offered that either. Very strange business behaviour from what is a really nice location and has lots of potential. Tip for business: don’t discriminate who can partake in offers as this just leaves a bad taste no matter how good your food might be.

I would put 0 starts for service but that’s not possible. Food is not good, after trying a broad range of items, I go back there only for one specific item I like, but after what happened I won’t be going back anymore. I won’t go into details, but the lady at the counter made a lot of mistakes and instead of apologising and offering solutions, she was not accommodating to me and was rude. I would say this is the result of not being competent in her job, and she probably never heard the words “customer service” put together. It is not possible to run a business when you have 0 people skills. I mean, it can be possible, but you will earn less because you drive customers away with your rudeness.
