Disappointing meal. Small portions and not great cooking. Also odd dishes that don’t go. Nice venue and good service

What a place!!! Celebrated my daughter’s birthday from Dubai and boy the food and service matched Dubai The personal touches like balloon and card were given, no prompting Food delicious, atmosphere fabulous and would highly recommend this restaurant

We had lunch here recently. I had the carbonara and my friend had the gambero rosso pizza. We were both really pleased with our choices - fantastic meal and friendly staff. A lovely outdoor setting also. Will definitely be back

Top food in top location! We went in a less busy time and had a really enjoyable time. Very satisfied with my decision to book here for the birthday of my other half. Our 4 year old got completely lost in his delicious margarita pizza, had every crumble of it and we took an extra pizza home for the evening😃! It was a shame we couldn't try the deserts bit we didn't manage after starer and main😁! Highly recommend the place. Very nice and friendly staff accommodating all wishes.

Delicious food, good service and a great location at the side off the river. You can wear formal wear and dress up or go casual. Good vegetarian options. My wife and I had a great evening meal and a lovely night out whilst visiting. Highly recommend but do book.

Nice place and location, feel everything is over priced and didn't like the fact they add service charge to the bill even though we did pay this .

Excellent food and service, really enjoyed our meal here. Nice wine and atmosphere was excellent. Small issue is the service charge already included on the bill. I've always felt this should be left to the customer to decide. I was though happy to pay it after the waiter said it gets shared out with staff.

New Year’s Eve 24 - One of the best Italian meals I have ever had the pleasure of eating. This restaurant is utterly faultless- knowledgable professional intelligent staff- exceptional ingredients that tasted so fresh and as though I was being nourished. As for the decor, WOW, utterly beautiful and perfectly honouring Yorkshire as well as Italy. Just lovely! Across our courses we had a mixture of fish, meat and pasta dishes and I couldn’t believe how perfectly cooked they all were. We drank the white wine from Puglia which was the cherry on top! Thank you Buon App!

It's always great to eat out here at Buon Apps. Delicious food, great service, and a nice ambiance. In the summertime, dine al fresco on the terrace by the riverside.

As always, excellent food and wine, attentive staff. Very busy evening (Xmas eve) with family groups large and small. The staff were working hard.

It is a great restaurant with a stunning location by the river in Otley. The food is outside the norm for Italian restaurants with some unique dishes from various regions of Italy. Great service and great food.

First time here. Mussels starter tasted good but came in deep bowl, so hard to find somewhere else for empty shells & therefore more messy than necessary. Finger bowl/plate helped a bit. Prawn/crab pasta tasted OK but couldn't find any crab. It had been under the lights a while so the surface had dried a bit & no one could be bothered to stir it before service. Grilled fish dish included jumbo prawns which had been overcooked. Pity. Restaurant itself is nicely laid out and in a pleasant, if a tad difficult to find by sat nav, location. Food waiters seemed a bit supercilious.

Lobster ravioli, served luke warm. Cheese and biscuits, laughable the portion was so small. I know restarants are struggling at the moment but........ Please don't serve tepid food and small portions. The onion chutney was runny and tastless. I wouldn't return or advise friends, family or colleagues to eat there.

This might be a new favourite restaurant, absolutely gorgeous food and the build is fantastic it’s a 5 star restaurant tucked away with a lovely view of the river. The staff were great too thank you all for the fantastic night!

Set in a stunning location next to the river Wear and the food is to die for. I had the pizza which was right up there with the best pizza I’ve ever had. Highly recommend Buon Apps for a special occasion.

Lovely food, very accommodating to a group of five adults and two babies under, or about, a year.

From the minute you walk through the door you step into a 'taste' of Italy. A warm welcome for sure. We were placed at a window table, looking out over the Wharfe. We were greeted by charming Sicilian lady ( obviously proud of her heritage). The menu is vast and so tempting. The food was 'amazing', the wine was a beautiful smooth Chianti (available by the glass too!). As we left after a lovely culinary experience we spotted a shelf of 'goodies'....cantuccini to go. Overall a great experience.

Everything was spot on! Gorgeous food, fantastic service and a lovely venue. We are visiting from Australia and have already booked another slot for before we leave, highly recommend!

Stopped off for a couple of drinks, staff seemed a bit fed up, outside area needs lots of TLC. Understand the inside area is probably the main focus but it was pretty mucky outside too which let it down for us.

An absolute gem of a place oozing Italian authenticity. We've been back to Buon Apps numerous times since it opened several years ago. The service has always been excellent and the food delicious. The covered outdoor dining area is a great addition and I'd highly recommend the daily specials. Booking is essential as this place is deservedly popular.

The food, the staff, the venue, the location. Everything is fantastic here.

Good food, service is less good. Just returned this evening. Food is great and can’t fault it. But service standard aren’t as good as they used to be. Been here probably close to double-digits over the past few years. However, having more and more things that are putting us off. Was stood waiting to be seated or even acknowledged when we arrived for longer than was reasonable. When finally greeted by the gentleman I assume to be owner/operator, he seemed annoyed and distracted. Not a warm welcome. Partner ordered a Pinot Grigio and was brought a red wine (maybe a Pinot Noir?), when we corrected this there was no apology. Later, when she asked for another glass, again, a glass of red wine was brought out. Frustrating for the same error twice. Our mains were also brought to another table, before then being returned and eventually brought to us. I don’t mind pay the prices, but the service needs to be on point, which sadly it was not. Previous visit, we were waiting 20 minutes past our booking time in the bar area until our table was free. Wasn’t very impressed then either.

Delicious food - the frito misto was a good helping and very tasty. And my seafood dish, cacciucco lungomare, was absolutely gorgeous. Attentive service too without being in your face. I hope to revisit soon!

What an experience. We dined at 4pm on Saturday with our friends to celebrate our anniversary. We received top class service from Chris and the other waiting on staff. The meal didn't disappoint. The quality of the food was amazing from starters to desserts. We were not rushed and the meal was delivered with perfect gaps for us all to chat. Wonderful thankyou, what a way to celebrate an Anniversary. Perfect in everyway.

My friend and I had lunch from the fixed price lunch menu and our meals were delicious. The service was excellent and the ambience great. Highly recommended.

You can't actually see anything of the river when you sit inside. Service is good and my pinsa was perfect. Disadvantage: If a group doesn't order everything from the party menu, there shouldn't be a "greetings from the kitchen" at all, that's petty.

Food was exceptional. Service was excellent, friendly, helpful, prompt. Was a little loud with one table a bit over the top , but that can't be helped. Wonderful place, pity it was raining. Would love to return in sunny weather.

Perfect location and perfect food. We found service tonight was slow even when it wasn't full - ordered drinks, asked three times and our course was almost finished before drinks arrived.

One of our group was very ill from the salmon. The starters were overpriced but nice, the chicken salad a bit dull. Lovely surroundings, calm atmosphere. Shame the waitress couldn't answer questions about the menu. A lot of people give positive reviews but I didn't find it anything special apart from the surroundings and view. Due to food poisoning could not recommend

Lovely location but food was a little cold and nothing special (also one meal was 20 minutes later than all the others and no one seemed to think this was a problem). The price point doesn't quite measure up unfortunately (pretty basic pub food- though the desserts were better).

Pleasant environment food ok but some prices a bit higher than the average.

Went here for a drink by the river, it seems if you want to sit outside you have to use an app to order drinks. Tried this and the app crashed whilst making payment, so we had to leave as table service or going to the bar is not an option. I wouldn’t mind but the drinks here are very expensive £9.10 for a 175ml of wine, I expect better service.

Great setting and atmosphere. Drinks expensive. Bacon on salad burnt. Not addressed when we mentioned it.

Fabulous place. Tasty food, lovely setting with view over the water. Had a pleasant walk with dog before our meal . The outside seating - under cover was lovely...fresh, but warm..lots of beautiful plants.. bougainvillea, olive trees . Some very delicious vegan desserts... always a good sign ! .

Excellent - great setting (try and get a table upstairs by the window overlooking the river) - lots of choice that offers something more than the usual. Food was really great with a good choice of wines by the glass!

Buon Apps is situated in a beautiful location next to the River Wharfe. The food we had was of a very high standard, and we were really impressed by the service. The restaurant has a great vibe about it and feels very authentic. Prices are slightly above average. There is a small section inside the main restaurant where you can buy genuine Italian chocolate and biscuits. Buon Apps comes highly recommended. There is ample car parking right next to the restaurant.

Lovely meal. There were 13 of us, so we had to pre book our order. I was worried that the meal would be over too quickly, but the service wasn't rushed and, even though it was really busy, we didn't feel pressured to leave the second we'd finished. Really enjoyed the meal and the service.

I have eaten at burn apps numerous times and the food and service is always brilliant. Most recently we went to celebrate our nanny’s birthday and I had requested a table with good access and few stairs. We were sat on the ground floor near the kitchen, We had a lovely view of the river from the table and the room was not noisy so no need to shout to have a conversation like you have to in some restaurants. We were all pleased with our meals and would recommend the lasagne & bucatini all'amatriciana.

Wonderful meal for our anniversary.

I’ve eaten here a few times and chose it to celebrate my mum’s 80th birthday, we were a group of 17 What a fabulous afternoon we all had. The service was exceptional. All the food came out together and piping hot. Everyone loved their food, my roast porchetta was delicious. We ordered a gluten free cake, which was moist and tasty. It came beautifully decorated and then they sliced up for everyone. Five star for the food, service and ambience

With daughter and sister celebrated Mother's Day yesterday evening. First visit and totally enjoyed everything. Will certainly visit again. Any chance bigger cushions on the terrace seats as a little low for me.? However, the lit up terrace dining area overlooking the River is delightful and such an atmospheric area to enjoy cocktails and excellent food.

Very poor gluten free options and no pizza base available. When asked they didn't seem interested. Could only have chips or salad.

Went here with as a party of four. The service was good the food was nice. My only real complaint was the size of the toilets.

Beautiful food served promptly in the outdoor seating which had a incredible ambiance and although it was very cold outside it was beautifully warm inside.

Nice meal but nothing special. The calamari starter was disappointing, certainly not the best I have had. Creme brulee pudding was lovely and made up for it.

Lovely place with great views over the river, I had the leek and potato soup that lacked any real flavour or the sweetness normally associated with leeks. My main was the Pappardelle Bolognese, which was ok but not fantastic, I would go back though, if nothing else, for the lovely atmosphere.
