Food was very good, however, table was booked for 2pm and food arrived at 3:30pm, following food, dessert took a further 30mins to arrive. By the time we got out of there it was 5:15pm!!

Great little back street pub. Thry javevthrir own brewery and do fabulous real ales. Been visiting here for a few years and it's always a great atmosphere and the food is quirky and always good.

Our absolute favourite place for a Sunday dinner. We bring Nan and the dog here every week. We always enjoy trying the different craft beers and ales on offer. It’s exciting when seasonal changes are made on the menu. The food is always so tasty, created to a high standard and served beautifully. The staff are friendly and attentive. I can’t recommend this place enough

Lovely pub, brilliant for a drink and the dining area is lovely. The vegan options I went for were very poor, so I wouldn't eat there again but would definitely pop in for a pint. The broccoli steak was a big let down unfortunately. Would love to see more vegan options on the menu

Tucked away gem. Best pub on the UK? Wish I lived closer so didn't have to drive so I could sample their huge selection of beers. Food is amazing. Visited lots of times over the last 10 years or so and never had a bad meal.

Despite food ordered in advance service was slow. Waitress though was excellent

This has been renovated sat in bar had two starters and a side dish a pint of lager and a glass of orange juice and lemonade . My husband had the cockles and lava bread on sourdough toast he said it was lovely I had the pork burnt ends and a side dish of croquettes which was lovely we have always gone there in the past and it has tended to be a bit up and down but this meal was lovely . They do cheese nights also which are very good a good pub for locals but they are also very encompassing to strangers. They also do a varied variety of beers as they have their. own micro brewerry

The food was INCREDIBLE! Finally managed to get out for a meal after months of meaning to. Considering, when I first visited, the chefs were making food out of a burger van out the back yard- and it was by far the tastiest looking paper plates I'd ever seen. Now they've got a big, beautiful, new kitchen... and you can taste it! Excellent food with unexpected flavour combinations that work incredibly well together. Little more expensive for the fancier plates - meats etc. but well worth it. Personally I'm not into craft ales, but I am a veteran bartender so I can vouch that these guys know their stuff. All sorts of flavours and infusions, with new ones every week or so! Plus, the fact that it's brewed out the back and you might even get chance to have a chat with the brewer, just makes it even cooler! Love the new restaurant & bar area, looks absolutely lush. The silence in the restaurant is a little... intimidating... But other than that it literally could not have been better. Service was impeccable, very friendly and accommodating. Maybe if we'd have stayed for a few Bev's afterwards we could've made the most, caught up with the friendly patrons and possibly said hi to some doggos in the bar, sadly it was a school night and we'd blown the 'date night' budget. Would recommend to anyone looking for a flavourful meal or beer in Pontypridd, very much looking forward to returning.

No 0% alcohol beers (had run out of the only one!). Just a few token, uninspiring, vegetarian/vegan dishes. Pricy for the location and time of day. Very disappointing, we left and went elsewhere.

A remarkable find. A busy bubbling sound of locals talking to each other. I am the only person on my phone. A great menu featuring goat curry, cockles, venison ragu. A genuine modern pub doing interesting things in a beautifully loved setting of hospitality.

The Bunch has refurbished the kitchen and dining area and a new menu. They are also a brew pub that serves their own range of Otley craft beers which are very nice. A new loyalty scheme has been added and well worth signing up to if you're a regular customer. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.

Good food at a fair price. Staff were really friendly and the choice of beers was pretty good.

We visited Bunch of Grapes for a quick business lunch. I was impressed with the interior decor and the food was lovely. The service was friendly and not rushed. When I asked for the bill, I was asked if we would like to split the bill. Not required on this occasion, but nice to be offered the option. All-round a positive dining experience and recommended! I will definitely be going back.

Lovely pub, but not sure why they have stopped serving Guinness. Given the wide range of beers that are mostly craft, it’s a shame one of the only decent drinks has been taken away. Sadly we don’t visit anymore.

Explained we were in a rush. Was told nobody else was waiting. 30 minutes later ……food not arrived it was only a sausage!!!!!!…food not good. £17 quid for a sausage! This place used to be good. Gone down hill. Miserable staff

Place is getting a new kitchen at the moment so just settled with a pint. Will visit again in the near future when the work been completed.

Don't bother! Went here for lunch and there were tradesmen in doing work which was very loud and painful on my ears (grinding, drilling noises at high pitch). This was unbearable at points and in fairness the staff member did keep saying it should reduce but it didn't throughout our meal. I'd heard excellent things about this place and was looking forward to it. What a disappointment! Food came on cardboard with cardboard cutlery which was disappointing. If you're going to charge £14 for a burger in Ponty, at least put it on a plate! Lamb was very tough and fatty and was served alongside 10 chips. Really poor size portions and bun was too firm also. Trying to cut into a lamb steak with a wooden knife was no fun. There was a dead fly on my table also. As we were not checked upon during the meal, I spoke with a staff member who was apologetic but I felt like he didn't really care. Glad to be out of the place, a really disappointing experience.

Sunday lunch. 2 courses well presented and tasted great. Had 2 of their own (Otley) beers in view of the brewery. A solid DIPA and one of the best traditional red ales I've had in a while. Comparable with Polly's Linnu. Can shop in the back also. Beer paradise.

Always love the Bunch of Grapes, whether for a quick pint, lunchtime snack or something more filling. The food is certainly a bit different from traditional pub grub. You won't find a Hunter's chicken or scampi and chips in sight. This is so much more than pub grub. The pork belly burnt ends are a must, as is the Welsh rarebit. For something more substantial try the Bunch burger or the coffee rubbed steak! Plenty of choice of craft beers and cask ales to compliment your meal. They also have a great selection of gins. They cater well for vegans and vegetarians too. Service is good and staff are very helpful. Love this little piece of difference right on the doorstep.

Reliving our childhood visits to Pontypridd, we called in at this pub and found delicious locally brewed beer and friendly staff.

Amazing atmosphere. Great staff, fantastic selection of drinks and a wonderfully crafted menu. You cannot ask for more out of a pub or restaurant, definitely be coming back many more times. Its a wonderful place to be and the staff make you feel right at home. Very accommodating with any requests and a fantastic venue overall

As a vegan I can highly recommend this place! I have never been treated so well. So many choices and all outstanding. Mothers Day can sometimes be hit and miss at restaurants but food was exquisite

What a find! Lovely warm atmosphere, friendly, enthusiastic staff and very tidy real ale from the local Otley brewery. Will return to try the menu as it is highly recommended. Update: it's not the "local" Otley Brewery, it's actually on site. Small capacity, fast turn around, always a fresh brew. The Porter is just the best example of its type.

All very nicely lit , service was good but I was not that keen on the food options being unable to eat cheese or anything with lemon in it.

Came here for a wake after a funeral and the decor of the pub is really pleasant. Friendly and welcoming staff who brought out a buffet for the our small party of guests. Nice range of casks and whisky too.

The beef on the main course was amazing and the vegetables seasoned really well, the dessert unfortunately hadn't set though I was offered an alternative but chose not to. Overall would return for some proper pub grub and a pint 👍

I have not been here in decades and although it is under new ownership etc, the place still hasn't lost any of it's charm, atmosphere or friendly service. I will definitely be visiting there again very soon.

So looking forward to a family Christmas meal but sadly disappointed by overcooked, dry beef that lacked seasoning or flavour. No veg either. So a negative from me I'm afraid.

this is an excellent pub. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks extensive list including some v unusual (and delicious)fermented non-alcoholic bottles. Menu also extensive, food very well cooked, unusual twists on familiar dishes. Lots of thought gone into combinations; excellent burgers, vegan, vegetarian dishes, freshly booked....conservatory area slightly cold yesterday. Bakery/shop good for last minute Christmas presents for foodies! lots of little rooms. Eclectic mix of customers, drinkers, people playing board/card games, lunchers.....all a really nice experience. Thank you the Grapes.

My family have had much better experiences here. I'm coeliac, the menu is much reduced but there is a gluten free menu. Winter menu had a large number of cold items on which I was surprised. Dog friendly outside the restaurant but not easy to find.

I only mark it down as there was a very funny smell.

We had a lovely meal for my mother-in-law's birthday, she really enjoyed the evening. The rest of the party had tasty meals, although the pasta I ordered was bland and disappointing. I will order differently on the next occasion.

Care has clearly been taken to create an atmosphere at bunch of grapes. A traditional setting has been updated, whilst staying in touch with old fashioned roots. A "farmers market" display is testament to the care which has been taken in sourcing quality, local ingredients and this is reflected in the quality of food. Simple food, with high quality ingredients is given a makeover by talented and attentive chefs, making it easy to recommend. The high quality of our Sunday lunch was only tainted slightly by the somewhat bland and frugal selection of vegetables offered to us, with the single bowl of boiled vegetables in contrast to the rest of the meal. Staffing issues continue to blight the hospitality industry, and although the staff were very polite, professional and apologetic, some of the delays we experienced highlighted that even fine establishments such as this are not immune. Our only major feedback would be to add some felt pads to the bottom of the chairs in the orangery- the scraping sound was quite grating, although our sleeping baby means that we perhaps judged more harshly than usual.

My daughter & I stumbled across this pub 6 years ago when staying over in Ponty from England and it was a little gem, fabulous atmosphere and exquisite food. Fast forward to September this year and I booked a table for my partner and me for his birthday. Well, what a disappointment- the pub just wasn't the same. Despite booking a table 2 weeks in advance, there wasnt a table for us in the restaurant and we were shown to a table in the bar area. The ambience, the lay-out, the menu and food had all changed and its magical essence had gone. The menu lacked choice, the dishes lacked quality but funnily enough the prices hadn't changed, except 6 years ago we were happy to pay them because the food was so good. This is no longer a pub to 'write home about', at best, it's average. Shame.

It's OK. Conservatory was cold. Service was slow and food was not good enough for the prices they charge. Chairs REALLY uncomfortable 🙄 won't be rushing back! Unfortunate. 🥺

Having been here previously and having a good experience, I was extremely disappointed this time round. First thing I noticed when walking in was a strong smell of urine...if it hadn't been for the fact that I had arranged to meet family as they were passing this way, I would have left then and there, but it was too late to make other arrangements. Menu was extremely limited and very overpriced for what was served, which was mediocre at best. What a shame standards clearly haven't been maintained here

We came here after my mother's funeral. The buffet provided was very good. It was fresh and plentiful. It was placed next to the open windows, so flies were a problem. Probably would have made more sense to have had it at the back of the room. Tea and coffee was not offered freely and we had to chase staff for it. The seating arrangements were disappointing as we were all sitting separately and it affected the atmosphere somewhat. The staff were obviously very busy but were friendly and obliging.

This is a lovely pub with great food and drinks. A good family beer garden would have earned it 5 stars.
