First time at Bun X on 06/09/24, 20:00 booking. I’d heard good things from a couple of friends and decided to book this for my birthday dinner destination. The direction we came from was quite tight for our vehicle, but this is due to the history of the location, the parking was on street outside, pay and display, but free at the time we came. It was a nice warm evening and it was lovely to see people sat outside enjoying a drink and having a laugh with a server. Getting seated was nice and easy, Holly was attentive as soon as we walked in, led us to our table right in front of the open kitchen, on the way to the table I was congratulated by multiple staff on being “the birthday boy”. The place had a really nice atmosphere and I would imagine it to be very cosy in the winter, being a tall and larger person I normally struggle in older buildings, but had no problems getting to or sitting at my table. We were left to explore the menu after having a drinks order taken and specials explained, the wait was the right amount of time and our order was taken. While waiting there are plenty of things to look at around the room, including the chef and his team in the open kitchen. There was a small bit of mess on the floor at the service window where chef had gone a bit off the plates with some salad and fries and a couple of cobwebs in the corner of the room near the booth, but the use and changing of gloves and cleaning equipment by staff was a reassuring sign that the important hygiene was well under control. A surprise to my meal was a candle in my burger and the staff and other guests singing happy birthday as our meal was served, this wasn’t requested, but a nice personal touch. The food was very tasty and made with obvious fresh ingredients, the portion sizes were to my standard and I finished with a full and satisfied appetite. We had the lasagna burger, donut & chicken burger, roast pork poutine fries and bubble and squeak cheese melt balls. We were checked on only once during the meal, which I was happy with, but encouraged to only ask if we wanted more dips or gravy. We reviewed the desert board at the end, but decided we were done, maybe next time. The bill came and a brilliant sight of only £49 for all that food and drink! With the option to pay cash or card, payment was easy. The bill doesn’t have a mandatory tip, so a tip was left for our great evening. We hope to come back

I cannot argue the burger I had was delicious. Service a little slow, but staff were very pleasant. Food not cheap but definitely worth the money.

Consistently incredible burgers, fried chicken and sides. Easily the best burger I've had in the UK, in my top 5 worldwide. Second favourite slaw I've ever eaten (use of fresh herbs inspired!). Some of the tastiest fried chicken I've ever had including countless in the US. Chefs know exactly what they're doing. Throw in great fries, a literal bucket of different hot sauces, always lovely staff and impeccable music and you have yourself an absolute find X

Brilliant meal great service burgers are best ever food so tasty and more than enough to eat had to take a doggy bag home dogs were happy as well think it was a five star from them as well . would highly recommend this burger place staff really hard working we watched them cook and work they were really organised and got the food out really fast will definitely go back there

I LOVE this place. This place is everything you could want from a (mainly) burger restaurant. Not only are the burgers already unreal, the specials are to die for, see photo for Father’s Day roast special, A ROAST IN A BURGER? Following that, the sides are delish and the portions are huge so make sure you don’t have too far to walk. And to top it off, the staff are lovely. Such a friendly, helpful bunch of people. Always look forward to coming here! Good work guys x

Really tasty burger joint tucked away In a little Norwich pub. The burgers are large, tasty and fairly priced. The staff are very helpful and the place has that nice pub feel with wooden beams and floors and some unique decorations in the form of old toys.

Popped in for a work lunch, wow! Food was so yummy, I had the chicken burger and shared some pulled pork loaded fries - all amazing and have been thinking about the food since. Will definitely be back!

A must visit if you're in Norwich!! Dog friendly too! Excellent food, massive portions, delicious flavours and ALWAYS excellent service 😄 We had the best evening meal here - our server was passionate and went above and beyond with requests. We had the OG Mega Feast plus an extra burger between 3 and it was the perfect amount (plus a dessert 😜). Hands down recommend the cheese balls side, loaded fries and ALL of the beef burgers 😄 The 'build your own' cheesecake was the one of the best cheesecakes I've ever eaten out. Thank you ☺️

Really friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere! There are little Sylvanian families and dinosaur trinkets everywhere, which make the place feel cosy. The food is really tasty, and they have a vegan option for almost everything!

I recommend it to anyone who likes "street food" - an amazing offer! I was very surprised, the food was very tasty, had various flavors, etc. The chef obviously prepares the food with passion and the effect is surprising. Nice service, pub with good atmosphere. I will definitely come back here again.

Simply put, it's one of the best burgers places I've ever eaten! The food is absolutely filthy 😋 Staff were so welcoming and friendly, full of recommendations on food and beer, which was also excellent. Tbh, it was really tricky to pick off the menu, as it all looked so delicious, but I ended up going for the karage chicken special with prawns and kimchi mayo, which was ridiculously good. Husband went for a vegetarian version of the camembert burger, which was messy but delicious. Love how everything can be made vegetarian or vegan, rather than being a disappointing afterthought at the bottom of the menu. We'll be back, as need to try everything else on the menu.

I was passing and decided to pop in for a beer and stayed for a burger. I was very impressed with the service and the burger was the best I have had, the staff were really friendly. The atmosphere in the place was homely and welcoming. I highly recommend a visit, you will not be dissappointed.

But the real reason you're here is the food. Let me tell you, what excellent food it is. Quite possibly the best burger you can get in the city. Take a look for yourself! I enjoyed a OG Mega Feast (2 burgers, fries and a side of choice)... Big Macawbers Burger Double smashed patties, glazed in American mustard with beet fat onions shredded iceberg and ketchup. Camemjam Burger Double smashed patties, oozing camembert and crispy onions (with bacon added, because it's the right thing to do). Gangster Fries. (you pay extra for gangster) Chunks of Nashville hot honey butter fried chicken. drizzled in ranch and finished with chillies, spring onions and plenty of crispy fried onions! Cheesy bites. Secret blend of four cheese and little pickle pieces. Rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Served with chilli jam. It was my first time and not my last. The food was brilliant. The burgers were so tasty and cooked perfectly (smash patties with excellent caramelisation). Get yourself in there, MAKE SURE YOU BOOK!

One of our favourite restaurants, they go above and beyond with their service and food. Almost the entire menu can be changed to vegan or vegetarian, they are dog friendly and have some amazing drinks options! If you are vegan or vegetarian and a dog parent you don’t want to miss out on Bun X!!

When I first got to Norwich, some guy saw I was a bit lost and gave me a bit of help getting to my hotel, I ask if he had any recommendations and suggested this place. I must say it was the best place I'd eaten at the whole time in Norwich, can't wait to go back. Staff super friendly and the food was incredible, easily the best burger I've had in years. It's not far from the centre of town, worth the walk.

Please check the price for their special burgers before you order. The one I ordered costed £21.85 which is very expensive. The staff were friendly and attentive. Service was quick, and the food arrived hot and delicious.

Food was INCREDIBLE, not many people in so we didn’t wait long at all for our meals. The atmosphere was amazing and such a beautiful place. All the staff were so lovely and kind and made sure everything was perfect for us. But I can’t say enough how amazing the food was. It’s now my favourite place to go

Thought we would try Bun X at Micawber's, wow... Great selection of top quality burgers, fried chicken and Korean Pulled Pork buns. Superb selection of side to accompany. All of our party of 5 came away thinking this is the best burger joint in Norwich. A bit hidden away in the city, but for those craving the tastier, and quality side of this type of food - make the effort to visit you will not be disappointed.

From the moment you walk in, feels like an alternative Camden eatery. Service is friendly. Food is absolutely amazing and great value for money, specially if you're getting the sharing meal with someone else. Very generous portions. Definitely would come here again :)

Best burger I've ever had in my life... and I've had a lot of burgers. So reasonably priced which is so hard to find nowadays. I've already recommended Bun X to at least 10 people in a week.

Really enjoyed our burgers, our server gave us a recommendation and it was top notch. Will definitely come again. Also noticed on the menu they can accommodate vegetarians and vegans.

Had the special pulled pork beef burger here recently. It was beautiful, very tender meat and AMAZING sauces. Chicken tenders were also cooked perfectly! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great chefs. Would highly recommend!

okaaaay okaaaay..... i see you guys ;))) haven't written any reviews before but this one definitely deserved it. as an avid burger eater i have tried burgers in a bunch of different cities in the uk and abroad and this one has really impressed me. the second i opened the box I said damnnn bro. chicken fillet was hanging out of the bun, same for the beef burger. flavours were on point the portions are very impressive for the price. average of £11 for a burger of this size and quality is definitely fair considering the the price an state of many other joints around norwich and elsewhere, normally only see these kinds of burgers going for £18 or more the buns were also perfect, proper thick good quality real burger buns. considering inflation and the way it feels that all restaurants are trying to cut corners and skimp on food and quality, these guys hit the nail on the head. respect...these some real burger gangsters 🫡

Dropped by at 12 on a Saturday and already super busy, that was a good sign and indeed this place was a find. Really excellent burgers and sides. I would highly recommend.

Amazing burgers, my wife said it was the best veggie burger she's ever had. Good value, excellent service. They even made our dog a free puppy patty. Will definitely return soon.

Came on Friday food was unreal , great flavours and taste , the feast tray was a dream ,cooked fresh in front of you , lovely new location too , would prefer a main stream lager on tap though , as not keen on the hoppy lager served , also a small kids menu would be cool as currently don’t do one , but offer the adults as kids , Follow them on social media as they love posting out their great deals and really lovely people , we’ve supported them from the raindeer lock down days and lovely to see how much they’ve smashed it since.

Quite simply one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Came here last weekend for my birthday. Ordered a feast tray (great value). The burgers were simple but outrageously delicious. The chicken is perfect and the Nashville hot honey sauce is INSANE. Service was perfect and the pub is lovely and cosy. Doesn't get any better for an evening out.

My husband brought me here tonight for my birthday. Food was excellent, service prompt and friendly, and chefs were calm and collected. Best burger around! We will definitely return. Perfect meal!

Good food in a quiet location away from the main highstreets in norwich - we came across this area on a whim whilst out for a walk and they found us a table after waiting a few minutes - normally booking is advised. We had a sharing tray of 2 burgers and sides. It did not disappoint, portion sizes were generous. The price you pay is slightly higher compared to that of a typical pub/resturant or chain. One of the burgers we did share was however quite sloppy due to the amount of sauce but was still really tasty.

A converted pub with an open kitchen. It's up there with the best burger I've had. The fried chicken is equally fantastic and the Nashville hot honey butter is so good it needs to be bottled and sold separately. The OG mega feast tray is going to be a Norwich ritual for me from now on.

Unbelievable. I’m certain that I could convince a death row inmate to order a feast tray from BunX as their last meal, they’re that good.. I’ve been 4 times and every time it has been 10/10, there’s hardly ever anything I want to eat more. I WOULD recommended it to anyone I come across in the street, but at risk of the place becoming overbooked (meaning I can’t go anymore!) I have yet to do so 🤣 Anyone reading this, stay away it’s awful!!

We ordered The OG Mega Feast which came with the Camemjam smash beef burger, Nashville Hot chicken burger, Cheesy bites and Korean pulled pork loaded fries! We also ordered the Chicken tenders, Ranch Slaw and Cheeseburger loaded fries! I honestly love this place! The smash burger was my absolute favourite thing! Every ingredient complemented each other so well, a combination of both sweet and salty. Good quality and tender beef! I also loved the cheesy bites with the chilli jam. The Ranch was also amazing! Such a lovely environment with incredible staff, an open kitchen where the food is cooked so quickly! 100% would recommend!

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Fries were cooked perfectly as well. Good serving and the perfect crunch. For someone who is rarely full after a meal, I was happily satisfied and ready to be rolled home.

This was outstanding! Went for a special occasion for the anniversary of my business and wow the waiting staff/chefs so friendly and the food was literally incredible. I’ve had 100s of burgers but this place rocked. (Even booked in again to come back next week to try the other menu items) thanks guys SMASHING IT!!! 10 stars from me.

The food here is ‘off the scale’ good! Honestly the best burger I have ever had (and I’ve had a few!). The mega sharing platter is easily enough for 2 people and good value at £35 Can’t recommend more highly!

First time visit. You'd have to say it was excellent. We had the two burger deal with a side and two sauces. Just wow. Tried to get in before one evening, no chance so we booked this time although at 4pm on a Saturday was half full really. Great service. Seemed passionate about what they were doing. A couple.of downs. The toilets aren't great. A bit cold. Probably can't do much about as it's not their pub and £6 for a bottle of Grain is a bit steep. Lager maybe but ales should be at least £1 cheaper. Not going to quibble however. Still five stars and can't wait to return!

Great food in enormous portions with a great simple menu that's easy to parse. The camamburger was excellent and the Korean fried chicken burger was great, with juicy chicken in a perfectly crunchy batter and the perfect ratio of condiments. It's also lovely to see the pub being used. A good selection of drinks but not neccesarily extensive.

This has been maybe the 10th visit to the bunx exchange for us, split between their last residency and their new site Macawbers. Not once has the food not been fantastic. I have tried most of the top burgers in the uk, and I must say they are my favourite, with a close second of black bear in London. The attention to detail in flavour, quality of the ingredients and the care in dish creation really do speak for themselves and the fact two of you with a beer each is under £25 ph in this day in age is fantastic value. Overall as a chef of 18 years in the fine dining world, still recommend bun x to everyone looking for somewhere to eat in Norwich over 80% of what’s on offer. Keep it up!!!

Really great lunch & loved having the veggie/vegan alternatives for everything on the menu. The best burger I’ve had in an age & all the staff were very friendly, helpful and on it. If I lived in Norwich I’d be the size of a house as it go every day!

Hadn’t visited before as I didn’t realise that they catered so well for vegans. Popped in to take advantage of the January offers and my only regret is not having gone earlier. I had the Korean chicken burger and hubby had the Korean porky burger, being a meat place I expected the vegan options to be generic patties but was super impressed with the quality. The chicken was I believe battered pea protein and was so good I checked it multiple times as I couldn’t believe it wasn’t real. Burgers were some of the best I have had, so impressed that we have booked to return for next week’s date day!

Third visit ,each occasion the food was great, staff mega helpful, reasonable selection of drinks. On this visit there were 12 of us including 4 children but staff coped superbly. What's not to like ? Well done !

MY NEW GO TO! Me and my wife do the feast tray so we get a bit of everything. Burgers are honestly the best in Norwich. The burgers have so much flavour to them and are what I’d call a “proper burger”. Always walk away feeling full. Good value for money if you get the tray imo. Service is always amazing and the staff are so friendly. Looking forward to trying the new pizza place when it opens 🤩

THE place to have a burger. Their food is flawless, with regular specials, friendly and helpful staff. The location is ideal, just off the main lanes it assures it won't be filled full of loud people, the atmosphere is always balanced and welcoming. My no1 place to eat and I can't see it being beaten any time soon.

Heard about here through the grapevine so decided to try them out. I went on a Thursday lunch so it was quiet but the staff were incredibly friendly and I didn't feel like I was an inconvenience. Now the food. You will not be disappointed! Probably the best burger I've had, and if it wasn't the best it's been so long since I've had a burger this enjoyable I can't remember it. I went with the big Micawber ( I think that's the name) the burgers are seared high with a fantastic crust being created and it was packed full of garnish. I also got the seasoned fries. They're dusted in a spice mix then topped with a burger sauce esque sauce and pickled cabbage. Delicious. It wasn't cheap (nor excessive) but I left satisfied and full for many hours after so well worth the money. I don't think you'll find a better burger joint. Next time I'm getting burnt ends! Oh the cider was delicious also!

Had to give a little appreciation post for this place after my second visit last night. A few weeks back I visited for the first time with a friend & knew that I needed to bring my partner (he knows his burgers & can be fussy with them). Finally got to revisit last night for a little date night & it had somehow gotten even better. So, let’s talk about the food. The beef burgers are proper smashed patties, the chicken is crispy & flavourful, the fries are seasoned with some sort of magic that I’m still thinking about today. The sauces are amazing (heads up, if they sold these in bottles I’d be buying them to take home). I’ve sampled a decent little portion of the menu now but will undoubtedly be back for more soon. Cocktails? Also amazing. Not much to say here but they definitely compliment the burger-y goodness. The range of beer is top tier too! You’re always guaranteed a warm welcome from the team, no matter how busy they are. Super accommodating wherever they can be, whether it’s making little tweaks to your order or dietary requirements being met without compromising on quality. Considering I’ve got a pretty long list of places I’d like to try in Norwich but decided to head back here, says a fair bit right?! Last night was packed so I’d definitely recommend booking when you plan a visit.

Brilliant new pub with a lovely atmosphere and decor. We only had some chips with our drinks, but they were very tasty. I would highly recommend a visit.
