Bun X at MIcawbers in Norwich

Had a lovely sharing board here today which was delicious! Our server Ludo was super nice and helpful in explaining the menu and gave us great help in deciding! Will definitely be back soon.

Was served by an amazing gentleman called Ludo. He was very attentive and made sure we had the best experience. He recommended food to try and I can say it certainly didn’t disappoint. The burger is one off, if not the best burger I had. Everything was fresh and honestly you need to try to understand how good it is! Thank you too the chefs for making feel in food heaven! Certainly be coming back! Bravo to this amazing place! :)

Working in your industry I recognise good from bad, and what goes into delivering food to the public. We were a party of 6 today, and we were all bowled over by the quality of the food, the service and the relaxed professionalism of the team at Bun X. We’ve already recommend it to others and will definitely be back to enjoy what you do (and do very well!). Good luck and enjoy what you do!

Had the Korean burger, the Korean loaded fries and cheese doughnuts. The food was flavoursome now the nit picking bun it fell apart. Other than that, it was very tasty fries were ok but imo they needed to be crispier, just my preference. Also, I didn't ask, but perhaps they do small pots of sauce to dunk the doughnuts in. If not, they should again don't take this as a bad review. I enjoyed the flavours

Best burger I've ever had! We had a sharing platter - 2 burgers, fries, chicken strips and 2 sauces. Had to book 2 weeks in advance for a Saturday.

So good! We will be making this somewhere that we will be regularly visiting from now on.

Visited on 24/05/25 and it’s definitely worth the hype! Our server (Tom) was very patient and kind, which we couldn’t be more than thankful for. The fries were delicious and so were the burgers! (We had the ‘Almost Hunters’ and ‘Micky B’s’) We will definitely be returning 😊 Also, they play some banging tunes.

The Best Burger I've Ever Had -- so good I cycled 80 miles just to eat it again. I've eaten a lot of burgers, but this one takes the crown. Hands down the best burger I've ever had. The staff were Incredibly friendly. They made the whole experience even better with genuine hospitality and great service. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Highly, highly recommended.

The ambiance was charming, and the food exceeded expectations. The beef short ribs fell off the bone, and the mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth.

It's ok but nowhere near as good as their marketing suggests. Reasonable food with reasonable price and service etc. Not something to rave about but not shoddy either.

Quite simply, the best burger joint in Norwich. Down a quiet road in Norwich, from the outside you might mistake micawbers for being ‘just a pub’ - And how wrong you would be ! Inside you are treated to what hospitality should be - Flawless food, friendly and attentive staff and a great atmosphere, these guys know what they are doing and they deserve the hype and stir they are causing. The food here is plentiful and great value - Quality ingredients, cooked by chefs that actually care about the menu; I have been several times and more than once, I have seen the team talking and creating the next thing for the menu - For someone that loves food, this is the burger holy grail a passionate group of chefs and staff pushing the boundaries and offering something new - I’m always excited to see what’s next on the menu……They never disappoint. The positive reviews about the food are warranted - But it is worth mentioning here, that it is not just the food that is amazing, all the staff here care about customer experience - This is not a chain restaurant, this is an independent that care about the dining experience for all customers. If you haven’t been, go. If you were in any doubt, don’t be…..Amazing food, amazing staff and we will be back time and time again !

This is probably the nicest burger I have ever eaten. If you like burgers go here, don't think about it just do it you will not regret it.

My absolute favourite burger place. Service is always super friendly and even without a reservation they do their best to get you in. The feast trays are really good value and they keep the menu fresh with regular specials. My faves have been the Nacho chicken and the recent teriyaki chicken! We go back again and again and will continue to too!

I have been following these guys and girls for years and there’s a good reason why. They are truly the best burgers in Norwich, best crew and best atmosphere. Amazing value for money, food to die for and cannot recommend it enough. Norwich would not be the same without this lot. Long live BunX

Great burger and great food, but I feel the magic from the days of Bun X at Butcher Bhoys is slowing fading away (I do hope I am wrong though). I have been a huge fan of Bun X and their food since they first came onto the Norwich Burger scene. Myself and a couple of colleagues go out for a monthly burger and once we had tried most places in Norwich, Bun X was always the answer when we were looking for somewhere to go back to eat. #Ifyouknowyouknow My most recent visit to Bun X at Micawbers lacked that original spark that I felt from days of old (I have now eaten at various Bun X establishments around 15 times). - On the most recent visit the food was nice, but flavours weren't punchy and my taste buds were less than tingled. - Don't get me wrong... I'll be back, but there just doesn't seem to be the same punchy flavours as the old days of Butcher Bhoy times, especially the chicken wings, the chicken burgers and the loaded fries (less loaded and more topped now days)... I will end my review by saying that if you want the best burger in Norwich, this is still your place to go and I will still be back to enjoy the burgers and atmosphere.

Came here for my partner’s birthday meal with some friends and everything was amazing as always! Staff were welcoming, prompt on checking for refills and ensured everything was ok. Food….omg the food…I don’t know how they do it but the food is top tier! This time my partner and I shared the 2 burger tray, which was a perfect amount to share. The waffle fries were cooked perfectly and I’m still thinking about them 🤤 thank you for a lovely evening. We will absolutely be returning and continuing to tell all our mates to visit!

First time visiting on Good Friday, nothing to fault food, service and atmosphere all brilliant- catered for my hubby and just having a plain burger! And the coke was lovely too (reminded me of theme park coke, so I felt like I was on holiday!) It was genuinely delicious and fab throughout- it’s a must try. We’ll be back! Pure burger-fection! Lovely table for 4 by the window booked in advance. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 small dogs with a nice view of the kitchen. There’s ‘dog friendly’ and DOG FRIENDLY places - these guys are the latter and absolutely loved our pups. Three juicy puppy patties were gratefully devoured and boxes licked clean. The humans shared 2 mega feasts and these were stunningly served up on trays that were also wiped clean. Chicken burgers (samwich & Korean) were to die for. The chicken (burger & tenders) was coated and cooked to perfection. Beef burgers were meaty, juicy and delicious. The Japanese milk buns were the perfectly light yet robust vessel to deliver the flavour and texture sensation and the cheeky side of chilli cheese doughnuts were crispy, soft & moreish. Fries were crispy and salty. Service was top class - very well looked after by super friendly blonde lady and sound geordie guy. Could not have been more kind, welcoming, caring or attentive. Everything came out quick, fresh and correct - absolutely NO NOTES - 10/10. Perfect Saturday night spent well. 💚🍔🍟

Have to admit. Food was amazing but we didn't have a proper full experience. Basically when finishing our great burgers we have been asked to pay to leave the table for other people. We have not been offered if we wanted any dessert while the table close to us which has finished their food on our arrival and just ordering drinks they were not pushed to move to the bar area. Sadly to see a family business treating people like this. We didn't leave any tips exactly for this reason because felt just getting our money for the food

Food is always spot on. More than you could hope for. Big portions & quality produce. Flavours are always SPOT ON. Staff are always welcoming. Particular shout out for the munchie feast 🔥

Excellent burgers and good value for money. The only tiny draw back was the buffalo sauce which was sweet but not spicey which is more of a nit pick than a complaint. We will return!

Really great burger and wings restaraunt thats slightly off the usual paths of Norwich. One of the best places for Burgers and Wings in town - i put it personally in my top 4. Nice atmosphere and character and the food was really goos for a reasonable price. Book ahead as it does get quite busy.

Oh my...stopped in here last week for lunch, and the burgers are epic. Shared one of trays, and completely blown away...some of the best I've had. Only wish you could set up a shop in Bury St Edmunds, you'd do incredibly here! Thanks very much, will be back next time I'm passing thru.

We went to Bun X at Micawbers last night and wasn’t disappointed. We didn’t have a booking as it was a last minute plan to go out. We thought we’d pop in on the off-chance that they’d be able to accommodate us. I felt I needed to make review not only about the amazing food but the service. They were so efficient at making sure those people who’d gone there to eat could get a table. We didn’t wait long to be seated and we sat opposite the bar which was really nice . The food was absolutely amazing, we had the Mega Beast Feast with a side of chicken tenders and Korean slaw. Probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, I would highly recommend this place, so cosy , great atmosphere and above all the service was 5 star.

Have loved this place from day 1 and couldn't be more chuffed for their success. Only downside is needing to book waaaay in advance now. Their food is the best. There is nothing that compares to it in terms of quality, portion size and creativeness. The service is always incredible; staff are so friendly and on it. It's a 'bunderful' place to go and we adore it.

We don't get to go to this place enough anymore as it's booked up a lot, but boy do I understand why! They do everything so well. Not just the burgs, but the service, the engagement with their community and the vibes. We love an independent done well here in Nodge and Bun X/Little Mickeys know how to nail it.

Simply spectacular. The burger was without a shadow of a doubt the best I've ever had (and I've had my fair share). Had heard a lot of really good things about this place and it lived up to expectations, couldn't fault a thing about it. Can't wait to return.

From the moment we walked in to the time we left servers and what I think is the owner was in constant conversation with us and everyone amazing atmosphere and well the food speaks for itself it’s out of this world by far the best burger I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had a lot food made fresh to order and not only looks amazing but tastes it to have definitely just found our new spot to dine they are open Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm definitely need to book as it’s gone viral on TikTok and is very busy

You're a credit to Bun X, as are the chefs, as the food was so tasty. I booked a table in advance for a Sunday - it's a good job I did as it was busy. My friend and I had the sharing platter. There was low music in the background, and it had a lovely atmosphere. I'd definitely come back! Well done to everyone.

Amazing! Really tasty and big burgers (had a vegan one - most options can be made veggie, partner had a meaty one), chips and dips. Authentic, quirky decor and great soundtrack. Service was quick too. Will definitely come back!!!

I went to Bun X for the first time and i would highly recommend this place to anyone. We were served by Luke, he was lovely and made us feel very welcome. Their food is AMAZING especially their "micky B's" Burger.

Loved this place, its a cosy and welcoming bar/restaurant which is dog friendly, serves very tasty food and a wide selection of drinks. 100% recommended

This is different and delightfully so. The downside is the absence of real ale but the upside is the burger menu for which we shall return in the near future.

Huge burgers but still amazing quality, went for valentines and their specials for the occasion looked great. We ended up getting the Triple S (the one pictured alone), the almost hunters and barbeque nuggets, our food came super quickly, they were so good and the service was super friendly! Really recommend this place!!

Top quality burger, by far one of the best I've ever had, The selection was good and priced well with the feast option. Chips were good too which was a bonus, Chicken tenders and wings werent dry or soggy but perfectly breaded with sauce on top

This is heaven for burger lovers like myself, smash burgers tend to end up a bit dry but these were still juicy and the flavours were amazing. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

What a gem, happened to park outside so nipped in for early dinner on the way back to the car. Burgers were amazing, seared on the outside, soft, juicy and cooked perfectly on the inside. We went for the £30 sharing plate of 2 burgers, fries, side and dips. Very well priced and just lovely food. Staff were friendly and it seems very well run. Definitely visiting again.

My husband and I walk past the Micawbers often but we had never been in until today. We went there for the burger and it didn't disappoint. It is an old, beautiful building, with incredible historic features. The decoration is fun! Lots of little details around, such as figurines and stickers. The burger and the chips were delicious! I ordered a BDC and my husband a XX and they were both really nice. My husband had two of their alcohol free beers and he enjoyed both of them. The staff was super friendly and the background music was eclectic and fun. It is a great place and we will definitely be back!

My guilty pleasure is burgers. I normally get my fix in London. Everywhere seems to be having a go at burgers these days. Few hit the mark. Bun Exchange serve without a doubt, in my humble opinion, the best burgers in Norwich. The team are amazing and I am never disappointed by the quality and service. Wow what a find! We tried Bun X for the first time today after a recommendation from a friend, and we will definitely be back! The most incredible burgers, a great selection to choose from on the menu and the staff were great too. Portion sizes were decent. I had the hot and popping chicken burger and my partner had the Carvery Burger, both were unreal! We had jalapeño poppers and chicken tenders as sides - we think the chicken tenders were the best we’ve ever had 🌟 10/10 thank you!
