Bulls Head Meriden Coventry in Solihull

Had a lovely experience here with my family last week and the evening was made much more enjoyable by the waitress Emily - she was amazing!

Nice pub in a wonderful area and setting. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Furnishings and decor is wonderful and what you want in a place like this and the garden and outside area is nice and relaxing. My one issue and reason for bringing it down to four stars is the cost! Regardless of the area and setting £6.20 a pint is scandalous and daylight robbery! Not sure I'll be visiting here on my next visit to Meriden, which is a shame as it's welcoming and more than ideal places to eat and drink, but at those prices I'll stick to the cafe and/or off licence! Otherwise a good place.

Had a lovely Mother’s Day Meal. Thank you Millie for being so attentive. We felt very well looked after.

The food was lovely and our server Ram was great! He was extremely thoughtful with our unusual dietary requirements.

We were with family, very nice atmosphere as well as service, additionally the food was delicious, we will definitely come back again soon.

Meet a few friends from work. Nice interior dogs are welcome. Be ready to pay £6.20 for a Madri. At least dick turpin wore a mask! Food looks amazing, although I didn't eat there myself. I would definitely go back here. Staff are not as attentive as I would expect so room for improvement 8/10

I would like to say what a beautiful pub . Service was above and beyond , by a lovely polite gent called Bradley and nothing was too much effort even thou our reservation was for 8.30 pm but we artived late because of traffic we was still accommodated and excellent service . We where served excellent food from the wine and dine menu . Thd pub was spotless and clean service was efficent and no waiting around plus checks if food was ok and if we needed anything. The hotel room was excellent big comfy bed clean spotless and warm . Up to date modern with little complimentary extras tea coffee etc . Highly reccommended. Looking forward to out next vist . A disappointing visit with 5 friends for lunch. Restaurant quite quiet, several items unavailable on the menu but no information provided until orders being taken. However, service though patchy, the staff always friendly. Certain ordered items, salads, poorly prepared and presented, staff happily took them off the bill as preferred alternatives unavailable. The general condition of the premises has deteriorated significantly over the last few years, redecorating overdue. The cost of meals are not good value for money particularly with a 10% surcharge for 6 customers. These comments however in my experience could apply to all Vintage Inns visited in the last couple of years.

Beautiful place to grab a quiet drink with friends or loved ones. My mom used to come as a child and we revisited it recently - will be coming again more often now for sure! 👌🏼

2 types of Beer my brother-in-law, John ordered not available. Wrong drink for my wife, Carrie, tonic not lemonade, and the waiter disputed it. My Lamb, overdone. No feedback! Charged us for the tonic. Atmosphere not that great.

Had such a delicious meal here on Friday evening and couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend the rotisserie chicken!!

Excellent overall, let down by minor points The room, 2, was spacious and comfortable. Tea and coffee provided was plentiful and the person checking us in gave us a small jug of fresh milk that we had asked for. Room was very warm and cosy. Pillows were a bit of a let down, as we would have liked better quality, not bitty, lumpy foam. Shower could of had a sliding door to help prevent the water soaking the bath mat and floor. The shower access gap seemed a little too big and water escaped. The shower itself was really nice. Would have liked a small unit to put suitcase on, instead of putting it on the bed then having to move it again. The bedside lights had very low wattage bulbs in them, which made it difficult to read in bed. Booked for dinner and it was excellent, the food, the waiter, the atmosphere. Breakfast was good and plentiful, but we had to wait for a while to be served. There was only 1 person doing the running around. Would of liked to have seen a cereal bar, so that we could have cereal prior to our eggs and this would have broken up the waiting for the breakfast menu and being served.

Booked a meal on the spur of the moment and so pleased we did. Lovely friendly but not intrusive service, beautiful interior and excellent food. Can thoroughly recommend the chicken liver parfait, butternut squash soup, steak pie, lamb rump and apple tart. If ever we are back in the area we would definitely pay a return visit.

Always had a good experience here, except tonight. We were slightly early less than 10 minutes and were asked to wait at the bar. Ten minutes after our reservation we asked again about our reservation. It was clear they had forgotten us as and not even checked us in as we had a text message saying for us to call and they would hold the table for 10 mins. Once seated the food was good and when we finally got a server assigned to us it was very pleasant.

We've been a few times now since we moved near to Meriden. We've always found the Bulls Head welcoming, and the food very pleasant indeed. The pork belly has been particularly nice, as have the steaks (apart from one not so good one). We enjoyed the Boxing Day package, with nice starter, main and dessert, as well as a delicious glass of English sparkling wine to start, and an excellent Old Fashioned to finish (we did have a second round as they were so nice). It's a lovely pub, staff are (mostly) friendly and helpful, and we have never been disappointed. Looking forward to our next meal.

£7.45 for a pint of neck oil and they are serving it flat in a Guinness glass. Food ain’t much better either. Really sad to see a great pub going downhill.

Lovely cosy hotel/restaurant/pub located in Meriden, which is technically located at the centre of England (if you drew a line from all coastlines). It's quite expensive but the food, drink and service are worth it. The wine glasses are the cleanest ever seen and attention to presentation is excellent. A visit is recommended, especially if you are celebrating something 😉👍✔️‼️

We had a family event there for 15 people. The buffet food was superb and plentiful and the side room we had gave us the privacy we needed. We were really impressed with everything. The staff were excellent and deserve a special mention.. Friendly and accommodating and respectful of the event., nothing was too much trouble. We had many compliments from our guests and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Bulls Head to others. I look forward to coming back in the future.

Having been here before and loving it, we were excited to come again. How wrong we were. My starter (pate) was lovely. My husbands (prawns) not so. Very plain and not tasty at all. My husband had Peroni shandy which cost £6.80 a pint….. for shandy. When we questioned this we were told that all pints were the same if it’s a pint regardless. The mains were wry tasteless and bland and we left feeling very disappointed. £100 for 2 courses for 2 people. We won’t come back

Basically it was all good, but the wine was pricey. 11.00 + for a glass is a bit much.

Great Sunday lunch. Great service. Friendly, welcoming staff. Was a little cold inside the pub, which is why 4 stars for atmosphere.

Bar staff. Bar drinks great. Food improved greatly.

The food was exceptional, with a warm, and private table. The service was exceptional, as not overwhelming, but attentive, polite and informative. Our party of three, were very satisfied with the menu options as the quality was excellent. I always judge a good place on an expresso martini, which seemed to finished the meal off very well.

Joel gaves us amazing quick service, tasty food and made sure our wine glasses were topped up!

Staff great but very busy but food arrived luke warm we had Sunday lunch trio of meats which the chicken was dry the pork dry the beef was ok but under seasoned there was no salt and pepper, the gravy was watery yorkies like cardboard For the price it was very disappointing

Amazing food. I had the lamb rump with harissa, dauphonoise potatoes and veggies. I couldn't fault it..

Asked for a non alcohol beer on arrival and they only had Lucky Saint !! Not a very nice beer I thought they should have had a bit more selection than just that one, went through to have a meal with family and it was very cold in there, asked why the door was open on one of the coldest nights of the year and was told if they close it people would think it was closed so we all sat with our coats on while having a meal, didn't even ask if we wanted to be moved to a possible warmer place to eat

Dined on boxing day 4pm booking with my family .. was told on arrival table would be late ended up 30mins late . Not everything was available on the menu, and had to on a number of occasions remind the staff of my drinks order .The member of staff who served us was direct in approach but came across as rude which I had the pleasure of paying £44 pounds in a service charge . The total bill was almost £500 which isn't a concern as the food that was served was lovely and of a high standard but the experience didn't replicate that unfortunately.If you can't manage a full day's booking reduce your service times .. 2nd boxing day I have been but will not be returning.

Used to be regular here when I lived locally, back for Xmas to see friends and family, met up here for dinner and what a disappointment. Commercialisation has turned this charming gem into a crammed dull venue with average food and very poor service where staff are busy talking to each other than serving the guests. Decor is crumbling and suggest you don't sit near the outside walls as damp seems to be evide t with crumbling walls flaking over your clothes and possibly food.

We booked a table for five people. table was ready when we arrived. We ordered drinks they arrived twenty minutes later. We all had the festive three course meal. Which was cooked to perfection could not fault anything. we all enjoyed our meals. Will definitely book a table in the near future. our waiter Owen was very pleasent. the only thing I would recommend is that the waiters could wear a apron. to give that that extra class. Keep up the good work excellent all rounder. would recommend to family and friends.

Fantastic! Ram was lovely, as were all the staff! Christmas meal was delicious and a very lovely atmosphere!

The food was amazing, the service was very good but the tables are quite close together so if you needed to get up and use the restroom you bumped into the another tables chair. Decor was lovely but some of the decorations were off as the batteries were dead, which was a shame as Christmas lights make the place look more magical.

Wicked Sunday roast in here! I would highly recommend. Great service also.

Lovely time at the bulls head for breakfast with Santa. Food was delicious, we all had traditional breakfasts, to quote my dad ‘the best breakfast he’s ever had’ and service from Ram was perfect, really helpful and attentive, going above and beyond to interact with my little one. Would definitely recommend to visit, great atmosphere and Santa was excellent.

Lovely cosy setting with a great atmosphere. The menu is on point with a great choice of traditional and gastro pub food.

Food great as usual, there were a few hiccups in service but manager Aayush looked after us very well. Looking forward to our next visit.

Stunning as always! Superb food, we had pan fried prawns, pate, lamb rump and pork belly as well as sticky toffee and rum pudding and lemon tart. Our daughter had kids pasta and artisan bread. Great service, nothing was too much trouble and the added bonus of the restaurant being decorated for Christmas ❤️🎄❤️

Discovered this little gem offers breakfast, so I decided to try as I have always had gorgeous meals here. It did not disappoint! Bradley was a fabulous host; friendly, chatty and attentive. Great staff, that look after you well, professional yet friendly and welcoming. The food was very tasty. No one on our event team had any complaints and saw lots of empty plates at the end of the meal. Would recommend it to anyone.

Nice food but booked a table weeks in advance to be put on my own on the other side of the pub and not the restaurant!

Visit tonight and it was a lovely setting, went for the wine and dine experience which is excellent value for money considering there was scallops and steak on the menu. Starters were amazing, excellent bottle of wine however we both ordered steak for our mains that were exceptionally over seasoned to the point it was inedible - tasted like a bottle of salt had been poured over the steak, steak sauce and veg, even the chips that had steak juices on were inedible. Tried to persevere but it was just too salty. Told the waiter Dan who was the absolute saving grace he is a credit to the business - so understanding and funny. We didn’t want replacement steaks as we’d eaten most of the chips so Dan said he would reduce the bill for us so just ordered dessert which was also lovely. When we got the bill only 20% had been taken off which we didn’t feel was fair as the main part of the meal was inedible so we asked for a further reduction which was done, however when Dan was speaking to the manager we could see him pulling faces and rolling his eyes which made us feel like we were making a fuss over nothing. The issues with the food I would have put aside as a one off and returned but the attitude of the manager has put me off returning.

Came in for Sunday lunch on the 20th and sat round the back behind the bar which I have never been round before. I was amazed by the quality of service and the very tasty roasts. Will definitely be coming back in the near future to try out the week menu 👌. Would recommend

Lovely looking pub atmosphere was good. We arrived and were seated at 6pm and told we could only have the take for 2 hours, not a problem, we had average starters went to order mains at 7pm and no Rump steaks left, our entire table had wanted the steak which seemed very poor given the night was early. We had very long wait time for drinks with every drink order and had to enquire a few times as to where they were. We asked for salt for our food and vinegar but non turned up so went to find it ourselves. The service was very slow and very poor

Food was spot on and the waiters were very attentive and made sure we left happy. Would recommend!
