We used to all go here all the time. 4 of us at least once a week. The food has gone downhill but yesterday was the last straw. It's pretty much the only place I get to go and chill out, have a drink, play a game or 2 of pool (I'm a full time carer for my Autistic boys). I was shouted at. Twice, for swearing 🤬 There were no kids or families in the entire place. Only a bunch of guys who were also swearing, but he was laughing along with them.. I. Am. Livid. Safe to say, we will not be returning. Sorry to all our friends we've made there over the years.

We visited twice and on each occasion the food was great. We had meat and fish dishes and both were moist, well presented and good quality. The service was polite and attentive. We attended just after opening at lunchtime and managed to get seated but it gets very busy quickly so either go just after midday or book.

Booked a last minute stay on saturday. The whole place is in need of a refurb and is dated and tatty. Room we had smelled very stale and unpleasant although had plenty of room. After check in we were told we cannot use the hotel bar as all the tables were booked for people coming in to watch the football (that was starting an hour later and the bar was empty at this point), that's despite us being residents. Whilst we accept that during the covid epidemic things need to be different I feel if this is hotel policy it needs pointing out at the time of booking or check in). We tried a couple of other local bars that were all too busy to have us and subsequently we returned to the hotel and asked for a refund because we couldn't get a drink anywhere nearby so moved on elsewhere. A manager was called and after a wait he came in and was unapologetic stating he needs to keep his regulars happy (above his hotel guests - really?) we had a difference of opinion there however in fairness he refunded us and we left.

Popped in after watching rugby to get food , they were only serving roast which was a bit strange from chain pub but we decided to stay . No body else in huge dining room at 5 pm maybe a warning . We ordered one roast turkey and one roast pork , came out rather too quickly , I moved my Yorkshire to one side and discovered a lump of vile green stuff that literally dripped off my fork , then the meat a huge lump of pork which was just fat at least 70% of it . Meal was warm as well not even hot , we called waitress over and asked what green stuff was she apparently didn t know when I showed her the meat and asked if she would serve it she said no ! Then she decided the green stuff was stuffing , both meals went back as other was lukewarm to put us both off so finished our drinks and left very curt apology. No wonder it was quiet !

Most comments covered in separate review of hotel. Rump steak was nice, at first thought it was overcooked for medium but once cut it was a nice pink shade, tender and tasty. No alternative veg supplied or offered for mushrooms and tomatoes. Chips were OK. Seam Bass had run out on a Wednesday evening and none till Friday. Likewise San Miguel lager, fresh cream and vanilla ice cream had also run out along with tomatoes at breakfast the following morning. Alternative of Salmon offered which was not on the menu but was quite acceptable for my wife. Both carrots and new potatoes were slightly under-cooked. Warm fudge cake was very nice and decent size portion. 10% discount offered for residents.

We booked 2 single rooms - were given rooms in courtyard. The linen on the beds was fine but they need to learn how to clean - electric towel rail was filthy as was the window frames and the carpet was shabby. The other room was even worse. Main light was awful - filthy carpet and the whole room needed a good clean. There was no other room to move to!1 ordered a cooked breakfast which was fineThe other ordered a stack of warm pancakes topped with yoghurt and mixed berries. They were cold and rubbery and tasted like they had been opened from a pack of cheap pancakes put in dish and abit of mixed berries and yoghurt on top! So awful so I sent them back and asked for a bacon sandwich instead. This came and was 2 thick slices of buttered? Bread with 2 tiny pieces of bacon in between. It was so awful I would mot go in for breakfast in the 2nd dayStaff were all very friendly

The food is basic. My meal of BBQ ribs was okay typical pub chain fayre. The Sea bream meal my wife had was very poor. It must have been boil in the bag fish, the hollandaise sauce was curdled and the boiled potatoes were grey and like rubber. She just ate the fish. After the meal, when the plates were collected we told them about the poor meal. Their only comment was " Sorry about that". We will not be returning to this place.

On the plus side, The Bull Hotel is one of the few places (possibly the only?) you will find in this town to get a sit down dinner in the middle of the week. The Set 2 course meal was pretty good value for money, but I have to say the service was pretty slow. Good job I wasn’t in a hurry!

A friend and I went here for a Sunday Roast about 4pm. There was a table of 5 having a drink but otherwise the place was empty. We each ordered a pint, a sunday roast main and starter. I also ordered cauliflower cheese as extra. This came to about £32.Our starters came after a 20 minute wait, and looked very nice. They were generous portions. My friend has the garlic mushrooms which came with lots of thick, creamy sauce and some sliced baguette. I had 3 cod goujons and a cone of sweet potato chips. These were fine and very filling. The Sunday lunch, when it was finally brought about 40 mins after we had finished the starters, really disappointed us. It reached us at room temperature and, although the portions were very generous, they looked like school dinner standard. The mash was the instant powder kind, the gravy was instant gravy and there was so little of it that it was barely enough to cover the veg. My friend's piece of pork looked like a slice of spam and she took one bite and left it. My beef was so overcooked and dry it was like chewing leather I could barely swallow it. They also forgot my side so I went and asked them to cancel it, and to give me a refund, which they did.I hate wasting food but unfortunately all of the food on our plates was cold, dry and tasteless so we couldn't eat more than a few bites. Definitely not worth the price and, considering how empty the place was, the service was very slow. Definitely not going there for food ever again.

Arrived and ordered 2 x soup and children’s meal. Two minutes later told the soup was not ready so had to pick something else. Hubby ordered club sandwich on white. I ordered fish finger sandwich on white. Asked for beans on childs meal to be in a separate bowl. Took ages for food to arrive. When it arrived beams were on plate. My meal was on ciabatta which is fine but had a distinct lack of fish fingers (sea picture). Hubby’s sandwich arrived on brown which he hates and when questioned she said it was only available on brown and offer no solution and walked away. Has driven past numerous times and thought it looked lovely but would not visit again.

Terrible Sunday lunch at the bull in llangefni, we are local to Anglesey and this is the worst meal I have ever had. Beef was obviously reheated and was too hard to chew, very strong taste the lamb very disappointed. The restaurant was empty- it’s an embarrassment! I will not be visiting the bull in llangefni any time soon! Stayed at The Bull for 2 x nights while visiting the Anglesey Show and really enjoyed the time there. I’ve seen other derogatory reviews and can’t think why people want 5 ⭐️ accommodation at the price charged at The Bull, it’s great value for money. Friendly and helpful staff and a top guy running the place !! Bar and meal prices a bargain with special offers making it great value. Tales of haunted rooms and the cellar added to the friendly and light hearted ambiance of the hotel. Even though some of the rooms in the main building were a little “tired” and in some if you are light sleeper (try having a couple of drinks) you can hear church bells this hotel is a great place to stay without breaking the bank !!! Top marks to The Bull !!

I went there recently to have lunch with a friend , I was a little surprised that it was completely empty at lunch time? We ordered the chicken platter to share, when it came on first inspection it seemed ok but when we ate the chicken some of pieces were pink other pieces were completely black and dried it definitely had not cook for our lunch maybe a few days before!!! We just couldn't enjoy it at all. We did mention the pink meat to the waitress and she that it always stays pink and we also mentioned the black drum sticks to the lady ( who could of been the manager)who cleared away our dishes, we told her how disappointed we were and asked her if she would of eaten the chicken and she said no she wouldn't of. The meal was a disgrace and insulating to us and I shall never eat there again.

I rarely eat out..it is a treat... NOT TODAY .. When I went into the building , there was no one to be seen ..I sat at a table and looked at the menu..still no one around.. so I went and stood by the bar and waited some more...eventually ...an extremely surly and disinterested young girl appeared ..said nothing ..I asked were they serving meals ,to which she replied that they were.. I fancied a prawn cocktail but apparently this was too complicated.. I chose the "hand carved ham" with 2 eggs and chips .. To be fair I did not wait too long.. But when it did arrive it was the most unapetising and horrid meal I have had in a long time.. As someone else said on here ,,he ham was NOT hand carved..it was the thin shiny stuff that comes in a packet ..the eggs could have knocked someone out , had I chosen o use them as ammunition ..and the chips were awfull dry and overcooked frozen chips ..not even as good as Iceland ones actually.. I expressed my concern ..the Manager???? said about the ham..that is how it comes its out of our hands .. I told him it seemed like blatent disregard for trade description of an item and it should never be on the menu as " hand carved " and customers should be told what it actually was.. He repeated that it came to them in a packet sliced .How do they get away with this ....he did give me a part refund, but I could not eat the ham ..the chips were a no go area and the eggs were a challenge..and my exiting treat was ruined ..in fact it ruined the day and I came away unhappy and still hungry and out of pocket ,

We visited this Hotel/Inn for a better value meal than our hotel. We were not disappointed. Late afternoon, there weren't many visitors, so we could enjoy our food in a quieter environment. The menus provided colourful examples of the offered fayre, and prices were more than reasonable (much better than our London prices anyway). The Manager was on hand to look after us, and was ready to offer advice as required on what to visit etc. The main course was served hot.

This review is for the restaurant (I have another for the hotel). The menu is standard to Brains' pub-restaurants, and offers a good selection of pub style meals - to call it a bistro is perhaps a bit pretentious.Main courses are built round curries, burgers and grills (steaks, chicken or gammon), as well as some pub classics. There's a modest list of starters and a number of desserts.

Warm welcome from staff and manager who was also v kind to our 3 year old which does not reflect another customer's negative feedback posted on here. We sat beside a cosy log fire on a cold night which was a treat, the food was good quality and tasty. It was also incredibly good value, with the 30 percent off January offer making it so ridiculously cheap we felt guilty. We will definitely go again. Like all kids they do run around the place and my nephew ran towards the staff room. The Manager clearly saw me trying to get my nephew and he continued to shout at my nephew! I felt absolute annoyed that one man could make me angry. Secondly the manager/owner said at the end to me move the baby to the other side of the room, that was fine (because it was late)but he never even looked at me while speaking to me and said it like I was a price of dirt. Like I said the other staff was excellent and the food was okay. (A few foods got sent back). I think the manger needs to get his act together and maybe go on a customer service course!!

Still the food was ordered, a simple process, and arrived very quickly. We were VERY hungry so the slight mishap with the order wasn't noticed until we'd eaten some of the food :) Very nice it was too! I've marked the place down one mark because the toilets need a bit of a refurb. The sitdown jobbie's door's lock is broke and a leg/weight/large hamster is required to wedge it closed. Still, all in all a splendid establishment - go take a look if you're around there.... you'll be chuffed you did!

Me and my boyfriend went here as we were starving after doing our shopping only to be very disappointed! We ordered 2 sandwiches and chips to be waiting an hour for them, I wouldn't of minded but there were only 3 other tables there at the time, And a table that came in after we had ordered our got there meals before us which I thought was wrong as they had full meals! I asked a lady how long it was going to be and she said it was getting plates up which was a lie as we were still waiting another 15 mins for it! When we got the food the chips were dripping in oil and soggy and the salad was drowned in a puddle of dressing which made it unedable! Will not be visiting here again!

Called in here for food and a drink as we were staying in a hotel nearby. The staff were rude and the food was truly awful. I had to go looking for someone to serve us as the lady behind the bar was talking to a local and had no intention of serving us. Seemed like they refried chips from earlier in the day and the meal was inedible and ridiculously greasy. Was an uncomfortable atmosphere there and I would definitely not recommend this if your a tourist. Made us feel unwelcome.

Me and my friends were out for food here. We waited quite a long time to receive our meals. When they came the meals were disappointing. I was hungry so decided to eat my food. In the middle of my meal I found a hair in my food! I returned the food and decided I did not want anything else. The man who dealt with my complaint was very helpful but I would seriously think of what kind of waitresses to hire. As we left I saw the waitress having to put her hair up in the mirror.

My family and I were very impressed with the lovely food we had at the Bull hotel today. My little girl chose the kids Ham, Egg and Chips and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious thick cut ham. She ate every single piece of it - huge hit! I had the Taverner's Chicken (which was a version of Hunter's chicken). The best I have ever had, the chicken was good, the bacon was gorgeous and the cheese was perfect. It was accompanied by really tasty home cooked chips and a salad. My partner had a chicken and spinach curry with half rice, half chips and a poppadom and I got a taste of it, and it was also gorgeous. The staff were efficient and curteous and the price was good. I will definitely return as I loved the dining room with the roaring fire, and although the decor was a bit dated, it added to the historical feel of the place. I was glad that we chose Llangefni as a destination for our day out. After our meal we went on the boardwalk walk in the Dingle area of the town. A thoroughly enjoyable day out.

Apart from The Bull Hotel, Llangefni has only 3 other places visitors can sit down to a meal - and one of these is a fish & chips café! The Bull was our first choice, offering a varied and reasonably priced menu. The décor in the restaurant has seen better days - but the staff are friendly and efficient. If you are dining out in Llangefni, this should be your first port of call.

10 of us went for a meal. We waited an hr for the first 2 meals, 10 more minutes for next 3. Then a 15 minute wait for another 2 and then 20 minutes for the rest. No one finished their meal as most was inedible. Some people left before they ate. Half the chips were dark brown and the rest were soggy and undercooked. This was far the worst meal I have ever been served, accompanied by the worst customer service. On complaining the manager was not in the least bit concerned. The first time we have ever refused to pay the full bill as 80% of food went back on the plates. There are many good places to eat on Anglesey but this is definitely not one of them

Here on holiday again. Returned to this pub for an evening meal and a lunch. Much more extensive menu, well cooked, usual Anglesey pub prices. Quick efficient service. Only con, on both occasions (different days) the ordinary draught bitter (£2.95 per pint) had run out. Alternatives were priced at £3.55/£3.60. Being offered Creamflow is not a proper alternative for Real Ale! This is a managed pub and the Brewery owners must surely want to sell their best selling beer.

Found this place when lost between either side of the island. Staff were really accommodating and friendly. Food was good although we'd missed the carvery. The restaurant area was nicely spacious, ideal with kids. High chair was clean and the kids menu was varied.Parking was easy enough on the main street.

Decided to have a meal with friends after attending an early evening meeting in the hotel. The dining area was welcoming. The four of us chose entirely different meals from the varied menu and we were all satisfied with our choice. I had lasagne, which was very tasty filling and definitely 'home made'. The service was speedy, friendly and polite. Definitely recommended for an informal meal.

Only one disabled room is available. We had to cancel our stay at what seems to be a good hotel due to others insisting on the only disabled courtyard room regardless of disability. Being disabled, we could not accept the first floor room allocated. Not the hotel's fault.

My daughter & I had lunch at the Bull today, tempted by the menu. It was quite full & inviting in a nice old room. That's where the joy ends, I ordered red onion & gruyere tart on dressed leaves. The tart was ok had a bit of a soggy bottom - microwave?? but the leaves were old, turning black at the edges, limp & naked except for a couple of blobs of oil. They were not dressed, the chef obviously does not know what a vinaigrette is, so for his advancement I have put in a link for him. You cannot serve salads without some sort of dressing/vinaigrette: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2321/classic-vinaigretteThe whole experience was alleviated by a charming waitress. Although she should have offered to take that portion of the cost off the bill, and it is for this reason I have rated it poor value

As we walked in we noticed the lack of staff presence. The party in front of us actually got fed up waiting and walked out. When we eventually found someone and our meals came, a lady came in and was trying to sell raffle tickets ! She even sat down at someone's table!! Staff said they didn't notice her! The toilets smelt bad and needed cleaning and anyone over a size 16 would have trouble getting round the door of the cubicle. Good job the meal was nice and good value for money!

I've been coming to The Bull for a traditional meal with the family for about 4 years now and for the first time in years I've appauled with the customer service received during our time. We arrive for our resevation at 7:00 pm and as we enter the pub owner/landlord/manager called Emrys insisted, not implied, that I take my bobble hat off. Since being with my family and not wanting to cause a scene I took it off straight away. As we order food, under the assumption that Emrys knew who I was because I am a member of a Welsh musical festoval that's annually held at the pub fortyard and been coming to the pub for years for the odd pint with friends. So as I order my drink, which was a pint of cider, he immediately asks for proof of age. Being understandable because I do have a young face I give him my provisional drivers license. Now I don't know the correct way to test fake identification but I assume, due to the fact I've never seen his method used in ANY other pub where bending and flicking the corners of the I.D actually works. But nonetheless I allowed him to try and break my ine of two forms of I.D that would cost an excess of £49 if broken. As we prepared to leave the restauraunt and I put my coat on and my bobble hat just being immediately insisted, again, to put my hat off. His lack of politness is unbelievably disgusting. The fact he talk to me like he knows who I was to then asking for proof of age and not asking if I could take off my hat but he was demanding that I took it off without saying please or thank you.Indon't want to sound rude but age must've hit him because he's forgotten how to use his manners. He must've thought that coming from Llangefni and being a local I wouldn't complain but I'm sorry to say but he needs to redevelop/develop his mannerism towards customers who are paying to keep his pub going. Disappointment is the main word that comes to my mind, and I hope that Emrys learns to be kinder to people who's paying his wages.

Went with my family, husband and two young children. Youngest child had pasta but when it came it was actually tagliatelle, wouldn't have ordered it if knew that as this can be very messy & time consuming for a 4 year old but saying that he ate & enjoyed it. The other child had 'Hot & spicy chicken wings with a BBQ sauce' - nothing hot & spicy about these just plain chicken wings with some BBQ sauce at the side - not what was on the menu - he didn't enjoy them at all. Having said that our meals were fine - but that it is fine - will not being going back. The bar man had no interest at all.

Just come home after a meal in the Bull. They should be ashamed of themselves. The 3 waiters/waitresses were so lazy to be unbelievable. Whenever we went to the bar the three of them were in the back ground, playing around, chatting and laughing taking no notice of the people waiting at the bar. The male bar tender was especially rude as he pretended not to understand what we were asking for in welsh i.e 1 large white wine,(all the correct hand motions, one finger held up and two hands held up wide apart to show- large) His attitude was abysmal, he couldn't care less about the customers, the meals, the service. He was very rude and actually said he didn't like/he was fed up of the welsh language being forced upon him! He is working in Llangefni and he can't understand One in welsh!! That is funny. The manageress was absent as usual. The meal was ok, nothing more. Bistro? Thats funny,it is a bar meal, over priced, had worse but had LOTS better.Never again.

Ordered two pints of beer, wrong brew delivered. No apology. Restaurant not busy. Ordered from menus, 20 mins later approx. (we feel freshly cooked food you have to wait but what we had ordered was very simple.) asked how long it would.take Told in a few minutes. This was repeated no reason given. 50 mins later husband makes a fuss and speaks to Manageress. No apology told large party in bar. Queried why we were not told of delay. To be fair beer was good, ditto food and they did not charge for drinks but really very inefficient. A shame has prices were reasonable. Talked to others on Caravan Club site and some had similar experiences. Maybe better to go at lunchtime rather than at 7pm.

Last time we had fish & chips from here they were very nice but unfortunately tonight's were awful! The fish wasn't too bad but the cone of chips was diabolical, they looked like reheated leftovers & a very small portion indeed. Not good enough considering the price, I was very disappointed!

Usually food is acceptable today 10 November 2023 I ordered fish and chips and peas chips were good peas acceptable fish was horrible and under cooked batter ok 🎏 fish was hard especially middle part Caffe staff had no interest at all spoken to duty Manager Tom who told me that the store and Caffe are different identity and could not be bothered to do anything for customer satisfaction Very disappointed that Tesco has no appreciation for regular customer to be cared for. Will not eat there never again and I urge people to keep away and dine at Morrisons or Standing Stones nearby where you will get properly cooked food and your custom appreciated.
