Good Nigerian food with generous portions. The veg with assorted meat was on point as was the ofada (Ayamase) stew. The service takes a long while though with a bit of confusion over the order. But nonetheless, the food finally came and was quite good.

A collegue of mine, told me about this nigerian restaurant in kilburn. it's quite far from where we live (Knightsbridge) but lots of busses go there from Hyde Park Corner. It wasn't easy to find in the first place. the found the address but, at noon on a Saturday, the gate was down and there was nobody inside. after a while we managed to get the owner on the phone and...of course he was inside. he opened up and there we were. as soon as we walked in the music started and we taken to nigeria straight away. biggest problem was being understood by the waiter. i'm italian, my wife is from benin, he was nigerian: a mess. we managed to order and the food was very good. had a very hot soup, they do spice things here, and my jollof rice was delicious. last problem: only cash payments. not good.

We loved our lunch at Carrots and Daikon yesterday. I had the garlic tofu Banh mi and my husband had the tofu lunch box. The baguette forming my Banh mi was the perfect combination of crunch with a soft centre and the tofu was nicely garlicky. What really made our day were the ice creams! The chrysanthemum and mango ice cream was such a fantastic combination and the matcha and pistachio was delicious too. We then bought one of each of the other flavours and I must admit that the combinations are creative genius! Who would’ve thought that mint choc chip would go with coffee and raspberry and jasmine tea with its floral notes would hit the spot?! I thought that the coconut and lemongrass was super refreshing too. Thank you to the friendly folk at C & D.

Nice pub, excellent range of beers, but can be quite pricey - bottles of fancy beer go as high as £50! Can get pretty busy but if you go upstairs then weirdly there will likely be nobody there and you can get a table to yourself and some peace and quiet if that’s what you’re after.
