The carvery is not the price it says.and not a proper carvery but the beef was lovely. Bit expensive for what it is.but plenty of room in restaurant not to crowded.

Myself and my wife went here for lunch. We do often go here because the atmosphere is brilliant. The food is brilliant and the staff outstanding. Our plates were full from the carvery. Plenty of meat and extras, with everything gluten free (apart from the Yorkshire's). Having cauliflower cheese that is suitable for those who are intolerant to gluten is amazing. The beef was tender and cooked to perfection Everywhere is spotless and talking to those in the pub, some drive over 50 miles just to come to the pub on a Sunday for food.

We phoned in advance asking to stay in our campervan. Put us in the paddock. Outside toilet is open 24/7. We came to the beer festival with live music. We ate in the dining room and the food was lovely. It is a very accommodating pub, loved it.

The staff were very pleasant and the pub had a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the size of the food portions did not reflect the prices. I had the open sandwich of bacon and brie which was very nice, but there was hardly any of it. The pot which contained crisps was less than half a small bag.

Fabulous carvery meal with family on a Sunday afternoon. Great choice of meats, roast beef, roast loin of pork and roast turkey. Plenty of vegetables to choose from. Staff were helpful and efficient. Probably the best carvery I’ve ever tasted. Amazing value at£14.95.

Popped in for a light bite and a pint while visiting the aviation museum. Its changed since my last visit and has been renovated to a very high standard and is modern but cozy. The staff were very welcoming and the selection of beers was superb. All very well kept too. We only had some chips but the menu looks excellent and we're looking forward to a return visit. It was a Wednesday lunchtime but the Buck deserves to be busier than it was. Hopefully, the added bonus of the excellent aviation museum next door will benefit both.

Went there on recommendation of a colleague. He had a ribeye which he thought excellent but expensive and service//atmosphere lacking. However booked Christmas Eve for my wife and I. The son and brood wished to take me up on the invite so changed booking. Have to say they didn’t ask me to mess about paying a deposit for increase £5/a head, fine no problem. I was told a Christmas variation in their regular Sunday offerings. On arrival they were expecting 2 not 6! Some kerfuffle then ok. Asked if we were having 1 or 2 courses, response was can we see who knows? Tickets thrust at us for one course then asked what about the children kids or adults size meals? The kids said they didn’t know they are only 11. So got food which we all said without reservation that they all thought food was very good. However they all thought service and knowing what they had, drinks wise, and lots of hassle getting us to order deserts it was off putting. Anyway not what we expected and service really is an issue but actual food lovely. Sorry have to say how it is. Work to do we think for price point, again food lovely just the rest.

I’d been to the excellent aviation museum next door and popped in for a quick pint. It was a Sunday lunchtime and The Buck was really busy. I think they struggled at the bar a bit because there was a fair wait and only one guy serving. However, I was very pleased to get a cracking gluten free IPA. Looking at the lunch plates around me, the portions were very generous and the prices were excellent. All I had was a pint and a packet of peanuts, but that same order cost me exactly £4 more the next day when I ate at the Sole Bay Inn in Southwold the following day. Full marks The Buck and I shall be back to have a full meal.

A shadow of what it used to be. Once the greatest Sunday lunch for many miles around. Now it has decor, service and food that all fall short. It's ruined its charm and USP of a charming country Inn with a modern minimal decor. Service is soulless. Food is okay, with beef being the only thing reminicent of the pub's better days. Disappointed and sad to return to after years of regular dining here.

An amazing hidden Gem that sits beside the Flixton Air Museum. We went to the Museum for a family day out, 5 adults (one in a wheelchair) and a toddler. We weren't sure what we would find on the menu and was slightly apprehensive as we had 2 with dairy allergies. What a wonderful experience all round. The staff are welcoming and very accommodating to your needs. We were seated quickly and a highchair was carried straight over so the toddler could get settled. The menu had plenty of choices for everyone's tastes and plenty of choices for vegetarian and vegan customers. The portion sizes were on the large side. The haddock and chips was spectacular in both size and taste. Paella was superb with plenty of king prawns and chorizo pieces. Scotch egg and sausage rolls on the ploughman's was amazing and you could tell it was all homemade. I had the open hummus sandwich with beetroot which again you could tell was all homemade and one of the best I have eaten. I also had a side of chips - one of the best pub chips I've had and I'm not really one to rave about chips!! Toilets were clean and had supplies for ladies and baby changing were available. I would recommend to anyone visiting the area! We will definitely be returning to this lovely country pub.

We needed a place where good food is served that would accommodate 50 people or more in a private room with space for a small band - for a wake, you never know how many people will come. Linda at the Buck was unfazed -" if there's not enough food, we'll get some more out". We had particularly stated 'No sandwiches', and we were served with a buffet of salads, cold cuts, continental sausages, ham, pork pies, sausage rolls, cheese board, bread rolls, hot shepherd's pie, fat chips and thin chips, quiches, something for everyone, and plenty of it. A little later, out came the desserts: lemon meringue pie, chocolate mousse, apple pie, fresh fruit salad, fruit jelly, trifle..... The bar was accessible to us, and the staff kept a tally, translated into a very reasonable bar bill - wine was billed by the bottle, rather than the glass. The venue included outdoor seating in an enclosed, but large courtyard, prettily lit as the afternoon turned to evening, masses of indoor seating at tables, good cutlery, space for a live group, space for a photo exhibition - we were allowed to blu-tack photos to the walls. The children got together and amused themselves safely outdoors, then organised themselves to eat at a long table near the buffet. We can't recommend the Buck highly enough.

Called for midday lunch meal on Saturday 28 th September. had a steak & pie with vegetables etc; awful meal and very tacky place . . for those who say it's lovely food - allI can say is they are not used to good food . . . friends also tried the Carvery and said they would never go again. I know it's all down to personal choice but really one should just try places themselves and keep a record. The service was awful - on arriving was left standing in the bar area - one male member walked past behind the bar to go out to back kitchen and did not speak. ( Only 3 customers at bar drinking ) so getting fed up after about 10 minutes we walked into restaurant and just stood there - eventually this woman came out and said she was making a coffee ........ she sent us back in bar to read the board . . . and back we went into restaurant ( only us there ) We eat out about 3 times a week so I know what places are like and this was awful - sorry, forgot to mention we were forever being bombarded by 3 flies.

I had roast pork, which was succulent, tasty and provided in a generous portion. However, the selection of vegetables were unfortunately all overcooked and had lost much of their freshness and flavour. The Yorkshire puddings were not enjoyable, they had a very tough texture/consistency. The gravy was fairly bland, and didn't provide the flavour boost that was sorely needed.

Visited today after going into the aviation museum, got a rude look as we walked in (assuming it was because we had children with us) asked if table for 8 was available was told yes and then we got left standing at the bar, asked another member of staff if we can have a table for 8 was told again yes then got left! We then asked if we could sit down to be told no not until we have ordered our food and got our drinks, we asked for menus was told “it’s on the board” the board had all cooked meals yet people at the bar were eating sandwiches which were not listed therefore we came to the conclusion we were just not good enough for menus and were not good enough to be in their pub!! There was Lots of whispering behind the bar, making us feel most unwelcome! Once we had almost finished our drinks a member of staff asked us what we wanted to eat by which point we got up and walked out!! Beer not all that and cokes and lemonades poured from the bottle so tasted flat!! Will never be visiting again!!!

This is the worst Pub I have visited in a long time. Booked for 13 this included 6 children and we asked for vegetarian food for some of the party too when we booked told this was not a problem. First we were put on two tables which is not what we requested. Were not shown to table just given a number. The owner was rude when we asked a question and was very unhelpful. He asked how many children and muttered something under his breath not happy!. We made our way to carvery and asked for veggie option nobody knew what it was .. someone went to find out what it was. We were told broccoli and cheese bake had to wait 25mins for it was told it wasn't in booking book that we wanted vegetarian. When it came up it was hard broccoli in a watery sauce with a few sliced hard potatoes in! Nobody asked if we were ok or needed anything it was do it yourself. We went to get veg with it from carvery the yorkshire pudding wasn't vegetarian, greens were mashed to a pulp ..potatoes so hard couldn't get knife though them! No vegetarian gravy. The food was warm not hot. Never felt so unwelcome didn't cater for families the children were ignored. When we went to pay I asked how much the vegetation option was I was told the same as meat carvery. despite being just one of the vegetables off the carvery in a watery sauce .. how can they justify that meal as same value I don't know. I paid the meal but will never set foot in that place again. Toilets were dirty and over all place tired and in need of a clean. If you have children or Vegetarian I wouldn't bother.

"We don't really have any high chairs because we're not family friendly and don't encourage children, but I suppose you can bring your little one along, we have a chair strap" actual response on phone from staff at a local pub. It was Mother's day and my daughter dared to be added to our group with her 10 month son and this was the responce she got. It wasn't even an extra adult as one of our party had dropped out. We recommended the Buck to her and now feel so angry that she was treated this way. On the day it was evident to me that the satff were overwhelmed by numbers and panicked that they wouldn't cope. But what a thing to say ! Please move your car was another request when she quite frankly was not blocking a space The meal was OK - gravy was lovely but we still felt rushed and unwelcome. NEVER EVER going there again.

Must include a visit to this excellent pub. The landlord is charming, the fare is very good, and not expensive.

Am never sure why the Buck gets mixed reviews. I have never had a bad meal there yet. Food is always hot, plentiful and reasonably priced. Sunday carvery is famous in the area and often well-booked up.You get served well whether you go as a couple or take a larger group.

Went for lunch. Both had ham egg and chips, asked for 2 slices of bread, received 4. The fried egg was lovely, the ham wasn't nor the frozen fat chips. We asked for two slices of bread and butter and received four! Unfortunately the bread was so awful, dry and thick. There was actually a sign over the bar, selling it!! Another thing is, we asked for a table for two and thought the other tables had been reserved but, no, the chap but us bang next door to another couple, leaving the rest of the room empty. No idea, no atmosphere, not particularly friendly service and we won’t be revisiting.

Mostly what I describe as "Boil in the bag or microwave meals. Average price for these maybe expensive steak might have been cooked fresh.Service leaves much to be desired, lack of attention to customers.

We were visiting the museum next door and decided to have a spot of lunch and we were very happy we did. The food was exceptional value, my cheese burger was only £7 and came with a large pile of chips and the largest onion rings I have seen, it was piping hot and very tasty. The staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome, if we are ever passing or even within detour distance we will certainly be eating there again.

I have been to the Buck on a few occasions over the past 2 years, and each time have been very warmly welcomed. 3 of the visits have been to private functions, which have been held in the large function room towards the rear of the building. The roast meals were excellent.Thursday night is Steak night. These take a lot of beating, and are a great value for the money. I cannot recommend these enough.Big bonus is the large car park, as well if desired, is a visit to the Aircraft Museum behind the pub.

We were part of a party of seven that had booked in for lunch today and had a marvellous time. The pub stocks a good selection of local real ales on tap and the food is first class. Our orders were taken in the bar and this gave our party time to enjoy a relaxing drink before being called through to our table. Once seated our meals were served up and soon being enjoyed. Seven empty plates proved to be good testament to the delicious fare served up. Deserts were ordered and these too were soon consumed and everyone remarked how delicious they were. The Flixton Buck is well worth searching out and has the added attraction of being next to an aviation museum. The pub has character, a large car park and most importantly caring and professional staff.

Lovely food, lovely wine, charming friendly service, especially when our waitress said "really enjoyed serving you' Right, now a slight whinge - NOT aimed at the Crown alone but at ALL restaurants that add service to the bill, even discretionary. Why are they adding service on the VAT???? Happy to pay service on the net of VAT amount but NOT service on the Tax as well.

Had to wait 3/4 of hour for a breakfast. No mugs available. Staff clearing trays away handing dirty crockery and table numbers then going to food counter to touch people's plates without cleaning hands first.food left on serving counter for ages before being brought out, people then sending it back because it was then cold as ours was,not as good as it used to be

Ok a 2 hour wait is totally unacceptable! On ordering I was told that delivery would be an hour, so ok great know, they’re busy, but happy they had told me this. After hour and half called and told , oh yeah your order is here on table, will be there in 5 minutes……….after the initial call, 2 hours later our order arrived, I think a free dessert would have been a great gesture. Our food was delicious though, roast dinner and a burger were tasty but this 2 hour wait needs addressing!

6 of us dropped in for a drink after the cinema at 22.05 today . Totally deserted except for one customer at the bar. Waited over 5 minutes before the customer offered to find the bar staff. Empty glasses on bar and tables so obviously work to do but no staff. Young lady eventually appeared and promptly said we've finished serving. No apology. I am amazed bars can afford to turn away 6 customers let alone without an apology. Also strange on 2nd July to read Christmas menus displayed around the walls. No idea if these are very early for this year or left up from last year? I've worked in hospitality much of my life and the golden rule is 'never turn away a paying customer' Unfortunately a no stars review wasn't an option. Very disappointing.
