Ordered the same dish I ordered the last time but the portion was half the size.

We enjoyed a delicious meal in comfortable surroundings. Pumpkin curry was perfect. It's always a pleasure to find a restaurant where you don't have to raise your voice to be heard by your partner. We'll be back.

Since finding this place almost two years now, I can't imagine eating at any other Thai restaurant, I have NEVER had anything other than great food and great service here! I have lived around the world, and this is one of my favorite places ❤️

It's a " PRIMO " LOCATION !!! I liked their Food as well. Good " Lunch Specials " !!!! I was in there last Sunday just to get some Thai Tea to go, and it seemed ' Deserted ' !!! I know a lot is on " Delivery Apps " these days. However let's try to " Support Our Local Small Businesses " ..... In Sha Allah. They are all 'Struggling to Survive ' post Covid - 19 ......

Definitely the place to visit when you are very hungry because their portion sizes are big. Really love the decor at the restaurant because it makes one want to dine-in peacefully. Their teas are amazing and I was blown away by the blends they offered. It was definitely my first time, having tea that’s blue in color. The food was well-made, with good seasoning. I had ordered the sautéed mix vegetables with fried tofu and I loved how well-prepared the vegetables were. Definitely a place that I will visit next time I’m in Berkeley

We went here on a Saturday night and arrived about 8 p.m. We were told they were closing soon (!!) so we should order quickly. We quickly made our selections, then waited . . . and waited to place our order, finally getting up and tracking down the server to place the order. The food didn't come very quickly but we started right in once it did. Within 15 minutes they put our check down, never asking how things were or if we wanted anything else. Then they started putting chairs on the tables around us and doing similar things to convey quite clearly that we weren't welcome, even though it was about 8:45 on a Saturday and we hadn't had our food that long. Never going back here!

Best bang for the buck is the lunch combo. Ordered the cashew chicken & tom yum soup. Food is flavorful, fresh & no skimping on the ingredients. The menu is quite extensive & service was attentive. Was a bit skeptical about the green tea since the description had watermelon & rose in it, but surprisingly, it was the right flavor combo without any specific one overpowering it; multiple refills were enjoyed.

Walking into the restaurant at 8:20, we were reminded of the 9:00 PM closing and if this was OK. Per the ensuing dining experience, we were rushed through every aspect of the meal including of course, the tab. In retrospect takeout would have been a more pleasurable option. The waitresses seemed more intent on vacating the premises by 9:15. Regrettably, an all too common an experience post-pandemic, with early closing, impatient staff-that are effectively discouraging business after 8:00 PM. All with notably higher prices-not all attributable to ingredients inflation.

another strong local contender for Thai restaurant. food took a little while to get to me but it was good, they make delicious chicken larb, with so many other Thai restaurants in the area it's hard to tell what sets this one apart.

Great food, some of the options may be a bit pricey but they do not skimp out on portions. I ordered the Kao Soi Gai and it was amazing. Chicken was perfectly cooked and noodles were tasty, not the mention the great curry which was slow cooked to perfection. Everyone else at the table was very happy and we had a good time. We had the sweet sticky rice dessert for dessert and it blew me away. Great place to check out if you don't mind spending 2 or 3 more dollars.

This is a really great, solid Thai restauarant. Relaxed atmosphere, the staff is super friendly, and delicious food. The lava fish was amazing. I mean..one of the best dishes I've had in months. The pad thai was good, the satay was good ..but that lava fish..mmmm. We'll be back.

Found Bua Luang Thai on UberEats on a whim, and I’m glad I did! The crabmeat fried rice so tasty, probably my favourite dish from here. I also enjoyed the Tom Kha Soup and Chicken Satay. My new go-to whenever I’m back in the area. Can’t wait to try their other dishes in the future ~

This isn't your typical take-out restaurant. Bua Luang is a quaint little Thai Restaurant on the Albany side of Solano Ave. We always enjoy coming here to have some pad thai and other dishes. Their flavors are very rich and not overly salty. Mango sticky rice dessert was beautiful plated and yummy! Parking is not a breeze but it's about the same with other businesses on Solano ave.

It wasn‘t bad. Definitely not super amazing either. Servers seemed overwhelmed. They should have had a least one more server for the demand there was tonight. The Green Thai Curry Chicken was OK, but had too many large pieces of veggies in in in lieu of chicken. The Pad Woon Sen was a bit dry and not as spiced as I know it from other Thai restaurants. It also had very few pieces of chicken in it. The Spring rolls were good. With everything, ingredients were of doubtful quality and only the tofu was labeled „organic“. Don‘t order that golden IPA beer. That was very bad.

Ordered BBQ beef (7/5/2022) Tuff meat like rubber, bad meat. Very disappointed with this place. This was my 3rd try. Never will go back and do not recommend. Expensive and poor quality. tastes

Got take out twice here. The portion size was fine but too expensive for food that’s just decent. The eggplant tofu had a piece of chicken in it, even though we specified it should be tofu and fully vegetarian, and the pad kee mao tofu didn’t actually have any tofu, despite us specifying we’d like tofu. The food itself wasn’t bad and when I asked for spicy, they delivered a decent level of spice. But their inattention to detail was very disappointing, especially when we specifically ordered tofu and they got it wrong twice! They also overcharged me for pad se ewe that was listed on the menu as one price and charged a higher price on the bill.

Excellent Pad Thai and eggplant!

This place has been a staple for the last couple of years when we want to treat ourselves. Just really high-quality, fresh food that is consistently delicious, including the BEST pad see ew I’ve ever had.

Bua Luang was my favorite restaurant on Solano Avenue but recently I had bad experience. For my take out order I ordered Cashew nut with tofu. I got a piece of chicken along with tofu pieces in my vegan dish. Don’t know how someone can mix piece of chicken in a vegan dish. Also, I specifically mentioned about entree item not the lunch combo but they gave me lunch combo and charged for main entree.

Everyone got what they wanted...great menu and everyone is always happy.

Very disappointed. May be a victim of the Covid era, but we ordered 4 dishes — one was out when I went to pick it up, all four others were poor in quantity and quality. The Corn Fritter was sold out, so we replaced it with what turned out to be a flavorless chicken satay. The $18 Pa-nang salmon consisted of 4 potato chip sized pieces of salmon in 1/4 cup! of bland curry (yes, we measured it). We ordered spring rolls that appeared to be frozen CostCo rolls, and the meal was topped off by the Kao Soi Gai, which was...just not good. There is a lot of good thai food in Berkeley and Albany — don't waste your money here.

Had a very good experience here with my wife. The food comes quick and the customer service is just good. Prices are convenient.

Tried to place a take out order but was hung up on and then my number was blocked. They answered the phone and put me on hold which was fine but they did just set the phone down so I heard everything going on. Then they pick the phone up after about 5 minutes and ask to take my order and for my number, I gave my number and then was told to hold on while she took a person who just walked in order. A few minutes later she picks the phone back up and asks for my number. I gave it to her three times and she said she couldn't hear me. Sounded like she was in the middle if the kitchen, pure chaos, so no doubt she couldn't her me. I started to give my number a fourth time and she hung up and now I can't seem to even leave a message. She kept calling me sir and I said please don't call me sir and she said sorry sir. Good luck with this rude place.

I go to this nice place quite a bit! This is the best place to to have a good dinner. I go there at least once a month. The cooking is excellent, the staff members are professional and the rates are affordable. I like eating in this restaurant to have a rich supper.

We've visited here before but not for some time as other friends had reported rude staff and small, luke warm portions. Undeterred I booked a table for friends (by phone as the website online booking tool is still not monitored), specifying very clearly that one friend had a disability. I was assured he would be treated with respect and looked after. Nothing could have been further from the truth! Firstly one of our other friends who was en route, rang the restaurant to confirm the table time to be told no record of the booking existed. My friend with the disability did get the table I had reserved but he said the service was terrible topped off by some very rude comments made by the manager to his wife about his disability at the end of the meal. I would not recommend ANYONE to go to this place! Standards are clearly rock bottom. We instead went to the Art Kitchen thai restaurant in Warwick last night. Superb food, excellent service, food obviously freshly cooked. We will use the Art kitchen or Thai kitchen in Kenilworth in future, never ever Bua Luang again. Suggest you do the same!

This is what I call Amazing Pumpkin Curry with coconut rice!!!

Had a late birthday celebration here with a good friend. First, the drinks. We were torn over which one to choose, but the waiter could not help so he asked what I presume was one of the owners who knew his wine. He recommended going for the wine in a lower price bracket between the two we'd earmarked which we both found was decent and the wine was a good pairing with the food. Then the food: I was pleased that they have Papaya salad on the menu, so I already knew what I wanted as a starter. My friend opted for Tom Yum soup (I think) and it was quite spicy. The papaya salad caused confusion: First, the waiter said it was not on, then it was, but he had to double check with the kitchen once more and eventually, I got the thumbs up. It was delicious. The mains were a red curry and a stir fry with prawns, both very good. We were having a lovely catch up but the atmosphere was slightly overshadowed by a screaming baby. The parents and friends did bugger all about calming it down and carried on making scream more. My friend who was facing them from our table said they were laughing. Well, we did not find it very funny as we could not hear each other over the screams. The place is small and quite intimate so no room to escape. After we'd tasted the wine, the chap who recommended it came over to check if it was okay to which we agreed. He then got a bit too friendly and kept grabbing my friend by her shoulders. I'm not being funny but if we wanted a cuddle we would have gone to our husbands. Inappropriate behaviour in my book. Nice that he liked my mate but a touch awkward. After all, she only asked about the wine, not to get her shoulders groped, stirred and shaken. The portions were not huge so we had room for dessert. Sadly, 3 dishes on there were not available and one got taken off the menu completely, which again, was not filling me with confidence. Still, we had a lovely evening overall and food good, but not stunningly so. As for value, I think a little high for what you get. A bit of a shame and only little things but not insignificant. Might even put me off from going again, not sure.

We visited this place with our dear friend on a Sunday dinnertime. Place was quiet, atmosphere was excellent and the staff fantastic. Very polite, funny and made our visit. Both my wife and myself ordered the ribs for starter and were second to none. Presentation and flavour were amazing. Meat fell off the bone and so tender.For the mains I had the Battered Fish (Pla Pad Kuan Chai), my wife and our friend ordered the chef's special 'Ka Gat Prik Thai Dam' (braised lamb shank with black pepper and five-spice sauce). I also had egg fried rice, rice had chips and our friend had the Steamed Thai Jasmine rice. The food was beautifully presented by the friendly staff and the flavours were amazing. This is one hell of a find and will definitely come again.I was the greedy one but did share the dessert which again was cracking - Deep-fried ice cream, beautiful.Do highly recommend this place, if you want personal service, visit Sunday lunchtime. It was faultless. Staff were please when we highly complimented the food and asked what we thought.Thank you for making an amazing visit and experience.

Solid Thai restaurant with good service.

First visit to this Thai, and the food didn’t disappoint. Great flavours, enjoyed Pad Kraprow and Coconut rice. Service was a little slow, but the food was lovely.

Restaurant was beautifully decorated. Food and service were of a very high standard. We ordered a king prawn green curry, beef massaman curry, chicken pad kaprow and Penang duck curry. All were served together and well presented. Portions sizes were reasonable (apart from rice which was small and expensive really). Will definitely return and recommend to others.

Good service, - a lovely tasty combo starter and my duck main course was great, staff very attentive, quite a small restaurant so probably best to book although we got in ok.

Bland food Nice spot with big windows and plenty of space. Very pleasant service. Food was underwhelming. Bland and on the dry side. My Pranam needed more sauce and the spinach should have been sauteed.

A quick meal in here on a business trip but the Tod Mun Pla and crispy duck in tamarind sauce did not disappoint. Beautiful interior which complemented the food

Been here a few times, not the biggest of restaurants but the food is really good. Been here with family and friends (some big foodies) and all come away happy. Host is a good laugh as well

We’ve eaten here five times now, the last time on New Years Eve. We absolutely love it here. The food is amazing and the service excellent. It always feels like such a treat. By far the best Thai we’ve eaten - really pleased to have found it!

We had the pleasure of dining here for lunch. Unfortunately, they are so popular they were too busy for dinner the night before but we just had to try it. This restaurant was highly recommended and rightly so. It’s reasonably priced and the quality of food is amazing. The owners are so nice and the wine list is fantastic with some unexpected gems. We had a fantastic time and will be back!

Happened to be in Kenilworth for the day and all Indian Restuarants were shut at lunchtime so I came here. Outside looks a little tacky but inside I was warmly welcomed.

A most wonderful meal on Valentine’s Day. Have family in Thailand so visit often, The food here is as good as I’ve eaten anywhere in Thailand. Authentic flavours very flavoursome and excellent hospitality. Will definitely return and will recommend to friends many thanks.

10 of us dined her for a family birthday celebration.we had use of their private room upstairs.they decorated the room for us,had champagne on ice and accommodated all our needs.first of all the food was absolutely fantastic,every single person enjoyed their food but most importantly the service was superb,so attentive and looked after us all night.thank you for making the evening so special

Cute little spot with fresh Thai food and fun presentation. Parking can take a few extra minutes but there's usually not more than a 5 minute walk. Romantic lighting and nice decor. Located on a busy pedestrian street among other businesses, nice for walking around after a meal.

I think it was only because it was the middle of January that we managed to get into Bua Luang at short notice on Saturday. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the food was beautifully presented and very tasty.

I am from Asia.. I like Thai food.. I have been to Thai restaurants in London.. I can say with Bua Luang is no where comparable to them and is one of the finest Thai restaurants in UK.. Must visit.. Highly recommended..

I come to Kenilworth 3 times a year for work. The highlight of each trip is eating here. Thai food is one of my favourite's and I have eaten in many of these establishments. However, the quality of the food here surpasses the best Thai places in London. All the food is fresh, the flavour's are out of this world and the portions are just perfect. The price is also very reasonable and there is a great wine and beer list.The staff are simply wonderful and you leave this restaurant feeling like you've just been in Thailand itself. I love this place and the staff, so much so, I ate here 2 nights running. Cannot recommend it enough! :)

Booked this place for the family even though my husband is not very keen on Thai. However as soon as we arrived the service was faultless and the food was fantastic with my husband wanting to go back! One of the best Thai we have had thank you .

It was a birthday treat for my brother who is not known for his wide tastes in food. However, the menu was extensive and each dish well described so he had plenty of choice that appealed to his rather conservative nature. The atmosphere was delightful and service superb. We shared our starter of crispy tempura prawns with a chilli dip - perfect! Our main courses of lamb shank and my duck were an oriental treat in the way they were spiced, cooked and presented. Two glasses of great wine completed the experience. The sweet menu has many tempting offerings, the deep fried icecream was a triumph!

I'm no expert...but the jungle curry was fresh and spicy...the prawns in there shells were huge and the sea bass was fat and fresh. A superb bottle of pinot noir to wash down the mains and simple beansprout and aubergine sides. Really good meal with polite and friendly service....food was served within 20 minutes of order. Enjoy!

Had a fabulous chicken jungle curry. My friends had the red Thai curry and the mixed seafood with chilli. We shared a pad Thai.

My hubby and I absolutely love this Thai restaurant! We’ve been there twice already (plus at the Kenilworth food festival) and we both found the food delicious! The owners are so lovely and polite! We simply can’t wait to go back :) Out of all the Thai restaurants we’ve been to in the area this is definitely our favourite! Thanks!

Visited the restaurant a few weeks ago with friends (who have also reviewed) who suggested we visit after they had tried food from the restaurant at a recent event.

Friendly welcome, shown to a table but it was close to the a/c and uncomfortably cool. However immediately upon asking was offered another table. This was typical of the good service, not too overbearing but attentive. The Tom Yung Goong soup was excellent, one of the best I have had. The Som Tam salad was a little less spicy than I would have wished for and I prefer ground peanuts to whole but these are small issues. The massaman curry was great and my wife, who is not a great fan of Thai restaurant food thought the duck breast fantastic. Would have been good for house priced wine option and this would bring us back more often but overall an enjoyable meal and will come back again.

After trying some food from Bua Luang during the Kenilworth food festival I went with some friends to have a proper meal. The service last night was very good and the Thai people serving were very friendly and attentive. The starter platter (A) was well presented consisting of satay chicken, fish cakes, ribs and spring roll. Everyone enjoyed their mains. The duck red curry at £14.95 I was expecting good things and wasn’t disappointed. Well cooked duck and a beautiful thick red sauce. Lamb shanks also very tender and well cooked. Desserts were fantastic. Highlight being a Thai coconut rice pudding with mango and a cheesecake. My reviews are fair and there are negatives that this restaurant can use to improve. The sticky rice and the drinks. The rice cost £3.50 and it’s the smallest portion I’ve ever seen in my life. Nowhere near enough for an adult and half the size of other Thai restaurants locally. It comes in a plastic bag inside a tiny pot. Fortunately I ordered some pad Thai so had something more substantial to go with the curry’s. This place needs to get some Thai beer on tap. Only selling small bottles of beer. During the food festival were £3. In the restaurant priced much higher for the same small bottle of beer. Overall had a nice meal in a friendly setting. You get what you pay for at about £40-45 a head to feel full up.

Wife and I went in on Saturday evening had pre booked as told really busy on Saturdays this was correct went in at 7pm busy but not overly so few spare tables but were obviously booked for later. Started with tempura prawns for me which were excellent with chilli sauce wife had satay chicken which she said was also very good mains I had sweet and sour sauce totally delicious wife had Krakow with prawns said the chilli was rather too hot for her but she ate it all finished with banana fritters and ice cream. It was a really enjoyable evening one thing though think you must book.
