Bruach in Dundee City

Always a good place to come, whatever you're in for. The staff have made me feel welcome at any time of day/eve.

Not overwhelmed by the food, service or atmosphere - wine and water glasses were very dirty - though were replaced without any issue. Food was ok, fondant potatoes burnt on top and cold underneath, madeira chicken cooked well, sauce and vegetables average. Halloumi side was however delicious. Service not overly attentive.

Quite a long wait for lunch, but food was hot and worth the wait as very tasty. Allowed dogs. Toilets acceptable but no locks on the doors.

Got there for cocktails at 5.30pm. Spent £100 and was told.our table was for someone else at 7pm and had to vacate the table. Other tables were available at 5.30pm so why did they put us on a table to then tell us to leave. We were told to leave so we went to a pub close by and spent about £400 and had a fantastic night elsewhere. Staff need to smile.more and be more polite at the bruach

Good food, friendly staff and a lovely local atmosphere - we have been coming for many years and this is always our go to bar.

What a fantastic night. The atmosphere and the staff were very efficient and on the ball. Can’t comment on the food because we were too late, our own fault. I will definitely be back again .

Have always found this bar to be so friendly and accommodating. And we got in touch ‘very’ last minute for a table of 10 on 2nd Jan and again, they didn’t disappoint. Lovely staff, lovely food and brilliant service. Thank you again!

Came here for a 5 pm tea before going to a pals for the bell. lovely meal great staff , two cocktails, glass of wine , two mains 4 starters. £94 pounds , gave them £100, keep the change food was great service was awesome, thank you Meg, Joe and Chloe. Will be back here again

We had a great reception and service for brunch. We were 7 with 2 dogs and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was excellent.

We Had a great meal here for lunch on the weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a good variety of cocktails. The food was great, though it was a bit annoying that only two turkey options were left on the menu. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Loved the food the staff were so friendly....not rushed out after meal so we just sat chatted and had coffee etc...a pleasant lunch was had by the famous five.....oh has the best sticky toffee pudding ever....

Excellent service, staff need more training on drinks menu but very pleasant. The food was great in flavour, gravies too thin, and some veg under cooked for me. Overall, great food, service, atmosphere, and value for money, okay. Would recommend and would go back.

Fantastic service and awesome food, Emma , Chloe and barman Ross looked after us + a handsome man Joe. Seated early , well fed and great cocktails, Bruach has easily passed Forgans in upmarket dining in Broughty ferry . This has now become our new favourite place. Will be back again.

Lovely service, the waitress always made sure our glasses were full and everything was OK with our food. I had turkey Christmas dinner even though it's November but it was absolutely delicious. My 2 friends also enjoyed their carbonara and Korean fried cauliflower. We had 3 cocktails each, delicious and not too pricey.

Excellent meal throughout from a small plate starter to the pulled pork taco. Nice quality bottle of prosecco as well. Only 4 stars for atmosphere, as it was a little quiet (it was midweek to be fair, it is usually quite busy).

Maybe should ask parents not to let children walk around with no trousers on the dogs were better behaved.

Really enjoyed a good glass of wine here and the following morning delish brunch and coffee served promptly and with good grace.

The service was slow. We waited 30 minutes before our drink order was taken, at the same time as our food order. We were given a bottle of water when we arrived. The food was amazing.

Went here for the first time last night and we loved it. Food was amazing, loved how there were some good vegetarian options. Service was good too and loved the music. We plan to go back again soon and bring friends. Will most likely book as it started to get busier than I imagined a Tuesday night would be.

The bloody Mary was the best I've ever had. I was asked how spicy I wanted it and I opted for level 7 .... I should have went for a 5 ! It was spicy and delicious. French toast with bacon and maple syrup was amazing. Great atmosphere and dog friendly . Loved it .

This was a pre theatre visit. Welcome was good, we sampled a pre dinner drink in the bar seating area ahead of our booked meal. Our choices came in good time, were hot and well cooked. The food was good and average for the area.

Latest visit, we were at the special tapas and wine pairing night. Service was spot on with waiters well versed in the history and contents of each dish and similarly for each wine. Great friendly atmosphere. A really good night out, but then we always enjoy our visits to the Bruach, lunch or dinner etc.

Very nice usually anyway but this was a special Tapas & wine evening with a guest chef and coordinating wine & food. Every course was explained and so was the accompanying wine. Excellent food, excellent service, lovely atmosphere. We look forward to their next adventure.

We have a very late lunch.The food were good enough, we just have simple pub lunch, sandwich, salad and hot veg soup. The waiters arr friendly. They are simple but good.

Found this restaurant while visiting the area, we had the family dog with us and were made to feel welcome when we asked if they allowed dogs It was a sunday so we all opted for the sunday roast, It was first class the beef was tender and the veg was cooked to perfection and plentiful. So if you find yourself in broughty ferry then look this place up.

Met friends that I hadn't seen in a very long time, and the staff were great when we were taking so long to order because we were talking so much. The food was delicious, and big portions. Would definitely recommend.

Disappointing service and standards for a family dinner. Normally wouldn't even bother about an honest mistake during a meal, but the number of times something was poor and the attitude of the floor manager made me feel compelled to leave a review. Ordered 2 vegan macaroni and cheese and 1 normal one - when the server brought them up they did not know which was vegan, and actually found out after checking that 2 of them were not vegan. Poor, particularly when it is something like dietary requirements and preferences to get wrong. So everyone had their food served while one person was waiting ages for a new dish to be brought out. Drinks were brought up with 1 glass of sauvignon blanc and 1 glass of chardonnay - asked the server which was which since they look the same and they did not know. I ordered a sirloin steak and had it served to me with no steak knife brought up - again not a showstopper but with the number of mistakes over the course of the meal highlighted how bad this place was at getting the basics right. We spoke to the floor manager and brought up these things and their response was dismissive, and showed they do not care at all, without so much as an apology. Given that the food was fine but nothing special, I don't see a reason why I would come back here for a meal.

Our extended family of 4 adults and 4 children (11 to 7 year olds) ate here one weekday night. We booked a table over the phone which was straightforward. We managed to park outside the restaurant and received a warm welcome on arrival. The restaurant has two floors with a balcony overlooking the bar seating area at the entrance. Really great decor, stylish and inviting. Kitchen and waiting service was excellent throughout especially on a busy weekday evening. We were one of two large tables and all tables were booked up so make sure you call ahead or use their website booking system. Menu is varied with specials available as well. Adults enjoyed: mussels & haggis bon-bons small plate - both really tasty; fish and chips which had an amazing batter; baked salmon fillet which came with some lovely sides; deli burger which was a monster and hit the spot! The two older kids enjoyed their burger and the mac n cheese. The younger kids ate from an excellent kid's menu and had homecooked chicken and fish goujons. We saved space for dessert as the hazelnut chocolate cheesecake was as delicious as it sounds! The sticky toffee pudding is massive and the kids all enjoyed their ice creams. Overall, great food, service and value for money. One of the best places you'll eat in the Ferry. Enjoy!

Never ever seat customers at a dirty table, when you have clean ones next to. Better ask the customer to wait, if you don't want to use the clean ones. The food was good and we got enough. But not everything seems to be on the plate. My tea wasn't warm. Maybe because there were too many customers and too little staff.

Great selection of cocktails, good atmosphere, and this time, we opted for the light bites sharer as we weren't overly hungry.

Friendly service, really great food range, the brunch menu was extensive but Inclusive. The food itself was incredible and great value for money. It's a busy cafe however so need to book and stick to your time slot.

Visiting from the US. Our Air BNB recommended this place and Bruach was amazing! All the food was incredible and they had the BEST chips I’ve ever had! The Haggis small plate was also very good. Chloe and Jake waited on us and were also very nice and extremely accommodating to my dietary restrictions! Thank you guys again for a great experience!

We dined at a time when people were celebrating. So it was very loud.

Food is very good, menus have changed so not a wide choice when I was last here. Service was awful 😖. Staff standing chatting at bar area and we were ignored after we finished our main meals. Had to ask for dessert menus and then ask for the bill as no one came to ask if everything was OK with our meals. When we left manager was talking about us to some staff. He didn't come and speak to us after we complained about the service. Not good enough Bruach ? Won't be back 😡

Lively spot for a casual dinner. Good food and good atmosphere. We went on a Friday evening and it was busy, but service was excellent and food arrived promptly. I can recommend the pulled pork tacos. Would definitely go again.

Ate here for a simple dinner out, on a Tuesday, the food was excellent. We ordered the pork belly which was cooked perfectly and melt in the mouth, the fish and chips had an excellent batter with tasteful fish and the hand cut chips were perfectly fried. The prawn starter was very slightly overdone but still very tasty! The portions were very slightly on the small side but not an issue. The only set back would be, quite possibly due to it being a Tuesday, the service was slightly slow, we had to wait a good 8-10 mins for them to take away the plates on the table. This was the deciding factor for whether we wanted to have dessert as we then also had to wait another 5-10 mins to have the card machine brought over, even with other 6-7 groups in the restaurant. Overall: Food: 4.5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5

Walked in off the main street for a lunch, we got a friendly welcome and a table straight away. Friendly & efficient service throughout and very tasty food at a fair price. My chicken salad had plenty of meat and interesting veggies. Menu has lots of food to choose from, plenty of vegetarian, vegan & GF options. Comfortable seating, clean toilets (up a flight of stairs). Their bar is VERY well stocked and they do some very nice sounding cocktails!

Fantastic dog friendly pub and restaurant in broughty ferry. We stopped in for lunch and were quickly served (although it was fairly quiet). We were also offered a water bowl for our dog. I had haggis and black pudding loaded fries which were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced at £8.50. The portion was perhaps a little small for me, but given it was a lunch menu the portion was probably reasonable.

We love coming to Bruach. Staff are lovely. We always sit in the same street. Cocktails and food are great. We did brunch instead of the usual lunch yesterday which was excellent.

I've chosen the Bruach Bar for many different occasions - post dinner coffee (excellent coffee), a first date, dinner with friends, cocktails with the girls - and they have never let me down. Food is delicious, staff are charming and service just so. Thank you!

Don't ask for a Rueben sandwich as they have no idea what it is, when I showed the waiter the proper ingredients and their quantities he said it was wrong. What I received was 1 (one) slice of some kind of meat and 1 (one) cheese slice with a creamy dressing, it was not a Rueben. That's a Rueben sandwich in the image.

The place had such a nice and relaxing atmosphere! 7 of us were booked in for Cocktail making and it was just superb. Jake was really knowledgeable and patient. Would certainly recommend! We were booked in for food straight after and again the food did not disappoint. Will definitely be back!!

Always a nice welcome from helpful staff. It could do with a bit of warming up as it can be a bit chilly. Food has always been up to par, so no complaints thus far, and it welcomes dogs.

Popped in for late lunch. Wasn't sure what to expect as we just tried it on passing. But would definitely recommend. The steak was cooked perfectly and the mussels were lovely.

Quick stop for a spot of dinner after a busy day. Fish & chips was lovely fresh and hot. Meg was very polite and made sure the service was efficient but not over bearing. Jamie gave us a very friendly farewell and made sure our experience was as expected. Been a few times to Bruach and will definitely be back again.

Bruach hosted my baby shower upstairs in the private restaurant upstairs, the food was great which they catered for and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating! Communication with the manager Daniel was great also and answered all my questions I had. Would absolutely recommend this venue to friends and family!

We have been to the Bruach Bar many times over the years. We heard that it was under new owners and on the recommendation of family we hired a room upstairs for a family lunch to celebrate my mother's 84th Birthday. Well, we were not disappointed, they allowed us to decorate the table and personalise the meal with our own Birthday Cake, which was very accommodating of them. We arrived there and were treated like royalty with the waiting staff attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and we did have a varied choice of dishes, all of them being very tasty. We had the room for two hours and then the staff arranged a big comfy table and chairs downstairs to relax and have our drinks and Birthday Cake. It was a glorious afternoon, and we would not only like to 'thank' the staff for all of their kind efforts, but to also recommend the Bruach Bar & Restaurant to others, we don't think that you will be disappointed.

Visited several times during our long weekend to Broughty Ferry for brunch and also dinner plus drinks. Food excellent, service excellent and dog friendly too which really suited us for all our visits. The Korean cauliflower starter dish was stunning. Nice Bloody Mary, Mimosa. Also cocktails are great. All staff are very attentive and we really enjoy it there. The pancakes for breakfast were fabulous too.

In Dundee for lunch for 2 and decided the evening before to book a meal rather than chance a walk-in on Easter Sunday. A good choice as it happened. The place was busy with various groups and the atmosphere was great. Despite being busy we didn’t have to wait particularly long for our meals (Bruach Burger and Balmoral Chicken). The food was good and the serving staff were nice. Would recommend The Bruach at Broughty Ferry to anyone visiting the area.

Jamie and & Anej looked after us the whole night. Cocktails were fantastic. The reccomendations from Anej on tequila paid off. Fantastic Codigo Anejo tequila thoroughly reccomend. We will be back.

Eight people Had Dinner in this wonderful place. Food was very tasty. Every element of the cooking was perfect. And the service was great. With a fabulous atmosphere. We are lucky to have this on our doorstep to entertain friends. Who paid for our meal. The price is also very good.
