Popped in to meet my aunt and we stayed for lunch. This was my first time in Dundee and my aunt asked us to meet in the restaurant. We arrived just before breakfast was finishing and then decided to hang around for lunch. The breakfasts I saw people having looked great with plenty of food per person. We ordered our lunch and I chose the burger which was tasty and full of flavour. My wife had a ham hough sandwich which was very large and she enjoyed it. The slight negatives from our experience were, I asked for more milk for tea and that didn't appear and I had to ask someone again for that. The same thing happened when I asked the same staff member for another Americano coffee and he went off but the coffee never appeared. The noise levels in there are also quite high which is probably due to the design of the restaurant with sounds reverberating. If, like me, sounds aren't an issue, you would enjoy your meals at this restaurant. The food was tasty and plentiful and you can see across the Tay

Lovely location, with plenty outdoor seating, warm welcome unless you’re a cyclist. Told can’t bring or park bikes at the front side of the restuarant. They are not allowed bikes or dogs in the river view frontage, ok to sit at the takeaway seating around the back next to the dual carriageway…. Why? In fairness we’re offered to leave bikes at the rear and sit inside the restuarant. What a missed opportunity and short sited given many cyclists pass this spot. Picked up a takeaway and left cant believe they’ve missed out on our business. Think a review off this policy worthwhile.

Then when we finally got our food it was disgusting , a dry roll no marg a minuscule hot dog no onions was never asked thought it came as standard was never offered sauce , then the chips had to wait 15 minutes and they were totally disgusting tasted like the day before reheats or cooked in dirty oil , the lot went in the bin , we won’t be back and I would encourage everyone else to do the same.

Nice views but after being told the place is dog friendly we were moved from the front of the garden with the nice view to the back by the road because dogs aren’t allowed in the nice bit. No signs anywhere saying no dogs. Food that we had from the takeaway bit is what you’d expect from a nothing special roadside stall. Tasteless greasy frozen chips, decaf cappuccino tasted like hot water, normal cappuccino was slightly better but not by much. Woman who served us was very pleasant and it’s nice to be by the river (even if people with dogs aren’t allowed to see it lol) The prices are fairly cheap so that has to be taken into account with the poor quality. If you’re a coffee lover then don’t buy one here because it will make you sad. If you’re just after a sandwich and a cold drink and you don’t have a dog then it’s probably a really nice place to visit.

Have been a regular here over the years, but the last three times, the service has been terrible (we hoped we had been unlucky the first twice). The place appears to have too few staff for the numbers coming in (certainly over lunch). Staff appear to be stressed, which comes across in the way they interact with customers. We sat for half an hour before someone took our order, and 2 staff members told us it was someone else's role. When our order came, we reminded the server that one of the party wanted a cup of tea with their lunch. Despite another reminder to a member of staff, the tea didn't come. The food and the view are no longer enough to make me want to go back.

I was in for brunch yesterday with my friend who was parshily blind. When my friend asked the waitresses where the toilet was the waitresses pointed to a wall and said just through there, when I pointed out my friend was blind she carried on pointing to the wall saying in there. After we placed our order the same waitress served up out food, and she left a hot pot of tea on the corner of the table beside my friend which could have easily caused a very bad accident. After we finished what we had order I had to go looking for the waitress to ask for 2 coffees, which she brought to us and only left all the dirty dishes on the table. I eventually had to ask for the table to be cleared as I did not want my friend to knock and thing over. We will not be back to your establishment any time soon

Remarkably poor food, ambiance, service…. Evening Christmas menu. Firstly the food: a flat shop bought pastry case with tiny frozen prawns followed by tiny portions of cold turkey on mediocre veg (cold plate) and Tesco own brand stick toffee pub with a micro scoop of ice cream. Next ambiance: cold, bare (no table decoration/crackers, clinical lighting, empty and cold). Service: slow and disinterested - no wonder they are empty! Pricing: the on line menu shows you are overpaying (you can’t get to the £28/£35 they charge for 2/3 courses….) with no extras at all! No coffee and mince pies/ crackers/ bread even. Honestly though it wasn’t the price it was the letdown food - rest of menu: my husband had chewy steak, the fish is coley (!!). We were there on the last Friday before Christmas and it was empty - one other table!speaks volumes. Avoid

Lovely looking restaurant with good views, lots of outdoor seating of the weather is appropriate. One staff member seemed wasn’t wearing her mask properly, how can you not know it’s not covering your nose, I do not know... surely a manager should her keeping staff in check....the restaurant and toilets look to be kept very clean. We ordered our drinks and food, and various waitresses wanted to take the menu away from the table, but we insisted on keeping it as it we knew we were wanting to later order a dessert... I can’t say we weren’t suspicious that they were trying to hurry us along so they could get away from work (we know we were on the last sitting at 5pm).I ordered a steak burger with beef chilli and cheddar cheese, when it came it wasn’t what I ordered, I know as soon as I saw it, and I said that’s not chilli...The waitress tried to tell me that it was in fact chilli. I said that looks like onions to me... no no it’s chilli, it’s got chilli on it. I said it’s not what I thought I was getting, and referred back to the menu... I wanted the beef chilli and cheese... this looks like onion jam and cheese..... oh I don’t think we have that she replied! I was like right...Do you not want this? I no, it’s not what I ordered... ok I will take it back to the kitchen and will see what they can do...My husband didn’t want to start his meal without me. The waitress came back and apologised and blamed it in miscommunication! Which really added insult to injury! Not sure how beef chilli and cheese can be miscommunicated to be onion jam and cheese on my behalf.... my burger came back after 5 minutes, I said to my husband there’s no way they have redone the burger, however it looked more like what I had expected (slightly stingy on the beef chilli I must add) I started to eat the burger and realised there was no cheese on it... I got the waitress attention again, and explained there was now no cheese... she said oh has he forgotten to put the cheese on it... Getting frustrated with the situation, I asked if they could just kindly bring the cheese out for me, and would just put it on myself.... which she did and apologised... after our early dinner we ordered desserts, I ordered sweet brioche with rhubarb sorbet and creme anglais... my dessert arrived looking like a piece of toast with small scoop of sorbet on top of it, and a small dollop of poached rhubarb... there was no creme anglais... I nearly gave up and didn’t say anything, but it was dry and rhubarb tart, it was missing the sweet element, so I spoke to the waitress again and explained... after 5 minutes she returned with a small cold dish of creme anglais... Staff don’t seem understand what they are serving to customers, nor do they understand how to handle things when things are wrong! Burger gate was ridiculous! It should have been returned to the kitchen without fuss, and scraping the onion jam of the brioche bun shows a chef/kitchen staff with no pride in their work.We had a 5pm sitting and it really felt like everyone couldn’t really be bothered. When the bill arrived, it detailed onion jam and cheese on the receipt, assuming the waitress inputted the burger toppings wrongly on their Epos system from the off, and this is why the kitchen didn’t get it right... My husbands burger was fine, followed by a cheese platter, he enjoyed the cheeses. We decided the award winning chef was probably nowhere to be seen when we visited. Would we return? Probably not, good quality food when it’s right, but service was not good...

My husband and I have made two recent visits for a takeaway lunch whilst out for a walk. The tramwiches are large and excellent quality as well as being great value. I had a filled roll which was also larger than expecetd and tasted very fresh (and again great value) I believe from next week when Scotland's cafes are allowed to re open again, they will have tables and seats outside - on a good day and with the views of the river and across to Fife, I suspect it will be even busier than ususal so get there early !

You can get fish gougons if a whole fish is too much. Pot of tea, bread and choice of sides included in fish meal. Lovely light batter and great chips!

Food wasn’t the greatest but yet again not the worst nice panini but soggy chips, friendly staff but they seem to care more about cracking jokes than serving customers younger girl eventually came down after laughing with everyone. hopefully will be back just need improvement on decorating and seating and some heating.
