Brü Coffee and Gelato Cardiff in Cardiff

I love Bru. It is in a great location and has very nice seating, both inside and out. Had a lovely toastie here, as well as some lovely earl grey tea.

Cosy and relaxed place, friendly staff, the drinks were hot, nice, and not diluted like other coffee shops, pancakes tasted like standard and normal ones you get from Asda. Overall recommended.

Rude cashier, repeated my order 3 times for her to get it right. I asked to eat in, but she boxed my order.

Lovely coffee, desserts and ice creams here and they are open late. Me and Ashley have been coming here for many years and the staff are very lovely and friendly, very quick service and reasonably priced :)

Tasty coffee, a well oiled machine of service, prepare yourself for a sugar crash if you get the desserts but it's worth it!

Halal, open late, wide selection of food and drink and well-equipped. Great for students.

Late night rush of customers, suuuuper fast service by shaz and Beth genuinely happy with the customer service, quality of beverages, and atmosphere overall. Always come here to chill and work on the laptop never had a problem polite staff and amazing beverages 👌🏾

Absolutely love this place. Spend most of my time working out of their coffee shop as the atmosphere is great, the staff are chatty and super friendly and as I’ve very recently discovered it’s not just that their coffee is world class, the gelato blew my mind. Hands down the best gelato in town.

Went in and ordered a cookie dough and cheescake to eat in at 10:10pm. Shop closes at 11pm. Leaving at 10:35pm and went to order a bubblegum milkshake to take away. The male worker started giving me a sob story how busy there were and they had to put away the milkshake machine Lols. Then after kicking up a fuss the lady came and offered an Oreo and Vanilla milkshake because those ice cream tubs were still out and not put away. Proper lazy amatuer tactics by the workers to finish early. Why starting putting the ice cream that early and the milkshake blender is just a container. Owner should address this and tell staff not to shut menus items too early. Wont be going again and warning others on Facebook and Instagram

I arrived at the store at 10.10pm waiting to be served. At the till they said everything has been turned off apart from the cakes even though the closing time is at 11pm. I was looking forward to this new menu but was disappointed. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but the owner should be aware of this as I don't think he is aware of the staff switching off the machines so early.

Cheesecake covered with chocolate syrup that forms a mold is a heavenly choice! Tuna melt toasties were really good. Velvet cheesecake was amazing. Very friendly and professional staff.

Not enough staff and overpriced.

Came here around 11pm since I fancied a coffee after a show at Utilita or whatever the arena is called this week, and it was great all around. Aside from the fact that it's amazing to have a café that's open so late, the coffee was really good, the staff were lovely, and the dessert was delicious. I'd love to come again during the day to try their food menu.

My favorite spot for coffee, also both the food and desserts never fail to delight. It's a fantastic place for studying or meeting friends as well. And the staff are very friendly. I only wish it stayed open until midnight every day.

Always reliable, decently priced and friendly staff

My experience at Bru was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Despite arriving at 7:30 pm, expecting to enjoy a coffee and work until the advertised closing time of 11 pm, I was told at the counter that they decided to close early at 9 pm due to a supposed lack of customers. This decision seemed arbitrary, especially considering the café was around 60 percent full. To add to my dissatisfaction, I noticed that Bru consistently serves coffee in paper cups rather than mugs. This choice, in my opinion, is highly inconvenient and detracts from the overall coffee shop experience. As the clock neared 9 pm, the barista's attitude made me feel unwelcome and rushed, reaching a peak when I went to get a glass of water at 8:57 pm. The same barista informed me they were closing soon, and reluctantly provided the water only after I explicitly asked for it. This behavior, combined with the early closure, made me question their professionalism and whether they truly value their customers. Bru is known for attracting those who enjoy working late into the evening, but this experience left me with the impression that the staff may not appreciate their jobs or their customers. If I had been aware of the early closure and the consistent use of paper cups, I would have chosen a different coffee shop. I strongly urge Bru to reconsider their operational decisions and to prioritize customer satisfaction and convenience.

Ordered 2 cookie doughs: Oreo crush and Biscoff Bomb. The presentation of the two desserts were amazing! However, the taste was not so amazing. Unfortunately the cookie dough was paper thin and was covered in sauce. It was if the cookie dough was completely non existent by the overload of sauce. As a result, the dessert was too sweet to consume and it left me with dry mouth. The ice-cream that came with it was average. The atmosphere was very cosy and full of life.

Ordered from Bru Gelato a while back it was actually decent and lovely unfortunately we’ve not had the same experience this time - ordered two waffle pops on arrival food was stone cold as it came to us way over delivery time, both were undercooked and doughy very disappointing, me and my mum still have stomach cramps from the undercooked batter mix also the strawberries were not fresh they tasted sour and unpleasant could still tell no matter how much they were covered with Nutella

Ask for latte they give me warm milk with hint of coffee ask them to replace it the guy then put the steamer pipe into same cup which I refused to take then he make another one same horrible ever latte with few drops of coffee it was waste of money so not recommended

Cute little place with amazing hot chocolates. We also had some brownies but they didn't rock our world. Service was brilliant and a really lovely chilled atmosphere. Will be back for certain

Always pop in for a coffee after concerts at Utilita Arena. Tastes great, price is good and the staff are still smiling even tho it's 11pm.

My 1st time trying Brü and I'm glad I did. The staff was friendly and accommodating, carried my heavy tray upstairs for me, the coffee was delicious and they have pour in cream a must for this American missing half and half. The restaurant has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating which includes booths and a sofa upstairs. I will definitely be back for coffee and to try the gelato

Ella & Annie were so lovely, friendly. It’s nice to see young ladies with such good customer service skills a credit to the company Sorbet & ice cream was really good

Wonderful small chain coffee shop

The electric red buzzers used in the ordering service is an ideal device to use. I ❤️ the Italian style pickled jam 🥯 and the 🇧🇷 signature lemonade very good. I tasted mojito in the drink, but then I know for a fact that in Brazilian cuisine, they tend to use chimichurri things. Overall I as well as my older friend felt warmly welcomed in by the good vibe, so Muito Obrigado Brü Crew 😃😊😀😄

Overall not great, only 1 person behind counter so service very slow, outside seating area wasn't clean with dirty tables & ashtrays over-flowing. We only had drinks & coffee wasn't anything special so would think twice about visiting again.

Outside seats very beautiful but still smoking make me horrible not fair,when I come about 3pm sandwiches empty and outside lots of dirty plates or trays no clean tables not fir why not outdoor need bins throw away foods like recycling

A very diverse array of items you can order and if you become a regular and use the bru application you can easily have a free treat whenever you pass by. Really enjoy all their sweets like Nutella cookie dough and their ice creams.

Loved the hot chocolate. I ordered Belgian hot chocolate and it was so creamy,smooth and perfectly sweet. The cafe has very warm and cosy vibes and I believe is a good place to hangout and amazing coffee

Great little find which appeared to be the only place open on Easter Sunday. Great coffee, lovely loose leaf tea, nice bagel and a good Welsh cake. Never heard of this chain before but I’ll make sure we will be back.

Desserts are delicious and recommended. Nice place with good space but there is no accessibility for buggies to reach the second floor when it’s crowded.

Usually don't have any problems with Brü but for some strange reason my cappuccino arrived with no milk in it (which essentially made it an Americano...).

Bru's got a very peaceful ambience where you can work or even study. The food tastes good well.

I had a flat white with carrot cake. Coffee was good but cake was not fresh at all although shop is located in the city center and normally should have a lot of customers. Tables not really clean and it was super hot inside. You can get better coffee and cake nearby for the same price.

Great food as usual, and all halal

I love Brü, but when i went to get a shake, they forgot the ingredients I asked for, they put it in a plastic cup even though I said I would sit in and they told me they are closing soon, but they close at 23:00, so there was still 3 hours. If it would be one hour I would understand if at least they told me. I don't know how they made that shake that night, but it was horrible. I couldn't taste anything! My friend that arrived later also couldn't taste anything, he got a different one, and told them to put it in a glass, and he still hot it in a cup. That was on Wednesday, 21st December.

Excellent coffees and naked good. Very nice staff. Was close to our hotel at the Park Inn, so we were here often during our stay in Cardiff.

One of these days I know that bru will take away all my money but do I care? Absolutely not! I don't spend more than 7 pounds when I go to bru and that's really good, because the food there is so filling. The portions are amazing and it's completely worth it.

Great service, we had two scoops ice cream (pistachio and Kinder Bueno) and strawtella cookie dough. They were both very tasty but at the same time a bit heavy, we couldn't finish them! So maybe it's good to share just one dish between two people.

They always have delicious halal food. Opted for the waffle-small but very filling! Not many places in Cardiff actually make waffles well, so I’m very pleased by the well made batter.

Have ordered from here a few times with no problems! Food and drinks are always great, the Spanish Rose Latte in particular deserves a mention - it's delicious!

Very nice little cafe, lots of seating and plenty of menu options. Only one bathroom on the ground floor though, which is definitely a little inconvenient.
