Delicious vegan brownie! Will be coming back ❤️

Visited last weekend and we stumbled across this lovely little bakery. The bakes in the window caught our eye! Lots to choose from at very reasonable prices too. Staff were lovely. Definitely recommend visiting for some yummy cakes/brownies/blondies! We had the custard cream blondie and it was amazing 🤩

Visiting the area for a week’s holiday during half term I stumbled across Browns’ Kitchen Bakery and what a find it was, I have a serious sweet tooth and the cookie pies/slices/slabs were amazing, great selection, my favourites were the cookie pie slices, both the galaxy caramel and the malteasers were especially good. I ended up visiting the bakery 3 times across the week, my waist line is suffering but the sweet tooth was happy, highly recommend. Also need to mention how welcoming the staff were, so friendly and were always thankful to receive the business.

Found this amazing bakery by chance and couldn't resist buying some of their delicious cakes. We can recommend the Nutella and mini egg blockie and the Dorset Apple Cake. Worth a visit.

Incredible brownies & brookies. Sticky, gooey & delicious. Really big selection of flavour options. Indoor seating available, cosy, enough space for 15-ish people. Friendly staff, nice decor, clean, really well priced.

Amazing cakes a reasonable prices! Could be my 2nd favourite cake shop after Gays Creamary in Dawlish

I was drawn in by the cakes in the window and the smell of coffee. We shared a dense brownie with chunks of chocolate caramel. My machiatto (however that's spelled) was generous, which I appreciate as it stays hot longer, and flavoursome. We'll return

My parents ordered the most amazing birthday 'slab' - half raspberry & white chocolate, half rolo - for my son's 2nd birthday. It travelled from Devon to Sussex and still looked incredible and tasted unbelievably delicious! Highly recommend this bakery and a slab rather than a traditional cake was just perfect!

My first visit was 3 days ago when I popped in and bought a slice of Mars Bar Brownie, wow! It was amazing!!! I am now addicted to.this place! Fantastic cakes at a very reasonable price.

SENSATIONAL. Brown's supplied a number of cookies, blondies and a fresh cream cake for our recent wedding and everything was absolutely delicious. Everyone commented on how yummy it all was!

I popped into Browns Kitchen for a spot of breakfast this morning after dropping my passengers off for the Folk Festival and I can honestly say, what a fantastic experience I had! Clean, tidy and very welcoming. The atmosphere inside was great. The staff were really friendly and very kind, service with a genuine smile as well which made the visit even better. The food was beautiful. Cooked to perfection and served on a hot plate too. The presentation was outstanding and I certainly was not disappointed. I highly recommend this establishment to all. Browns Kitchen is no more,as from December it will be under new ownership and called " Milson's Point ". Existing staff will be retained so the food should be of the same standard, but with a change of menu.

Fabulous breakfast, one of the best in Sidmouth. Friendly staff, good menu and lovely atmosphere. Prices are really good too. Well worth a visit.

I popped into Browns cafe after going to an event at the Sidmouth literary festival. It felt welcoming and light with tasteful decor. My friend and I sat in the little courtyard garden at the back. The service was attentive in just the right amount, with a good selection of good quality food and drink.I definitely recommend it.

Great staff, clean environment, the food is superb and reasonably priced. Have been every day this week! A real credit to the town.

Yet another fantastic meal eaten here at lunchtime today. I took one of my Age concern clients who loved it. Fantastic service, atmosphere and very importantly outstanding food and presentation yet again. You won't be disappointed.

Good menu and nice bubble and squeak.

Visited here for a late lunch and we were very happy with everything. The service was excellent from the friendly ladies and the food was hot and tasty, as was the coffee. The toilets were extremely clean and we would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone. The gorgeous young man who cleared the table was an added bonus !

Browns Kitchen is still my No 1, you can do no better. I travel from Chard for my Bacon Sarni, and believe you me it's worth the travel time. Food selection is brilliant, and the staff are the tops.

The food and service was great.

Last day of our Devon break, so we stopped here for Brunch on the way home. Husband had French Toast with Bacon and maple syrup, I had French Toast with Greek yoghurt and fruit. Children had French Toast with Nutella and Banana. Had to wait about 20 minutes for drinks, however food was out shortly after and they were busy. Definitely recommend here for Brunch. They also do full fry ups.Flat white was amazing too!!

We were in Sidmouth for Folk Week. We need to eat quite early so we can queue for the evening events & Brown's accommodates this (very popular so really need to book). Very friendly staff, eager to please.

Food was nice when it arrived although the peas that came with the children’s meals were dry. We were left for a long time without drinks and never asked again if we would like to order more. We were also left to clear our own spillage. Nice decor though - could have been a better experience

Had a great lunch here on a day I wasn't feeling great. My husband had a delicious sandwich while I rested up with tea and toast. Appreciated the great service and no-rush atmosphere!

Fantastic found this by chance whilst visiting sidmouth for a weekend away with my husband and was blown away by the friendly staff excellent food and an excellent chef. Who incidentally we spoke to and thanked for such a wonderful meal. Food was so good that we decided to have lunch there yet again the next day and was equally impressed with a lunch menu. As a vegetarian I can recommend the Stilton mushrooms for a starter and a delicious halloumi burger and the vegan breakfast the next day was really tasty. The place has a lovely ambience with a very friendly vibe highly recommended if you get the chance

All l can say is WOW, what a meal!! One of the best dinners l've ever had, exceptionally friendly staff and a very welcoming atmosphere with lovely surroundings. My Wife and l had a lovely dinner here on Saturday evening,(3 8 2019) and would love to go back when/if we go to Sidmouth again. Thanks very much! John Tucker.

We had breakfast twice at Browns Kitchen on a recent visit. The food was lovely and the service couldn't have been better.

Long way to come but well worth it.

Lovely cafe in Sidmouth Town centre. Friendly and helpful staff, really good knowledge of allergens too. We'll be back. X

My husband was on a strict diet and asked if a ham salad could be made for him, the owner said she could do that, when the meal came the salad consisted of a bowl of leaves with long stalks, a small potion of ham and a slice of avocado, no cucumber, tomato, onion, or real lettuce, when my husband complained the owner said she only had cooked tomatoes? and didn’t have any of the other ingredients, this should have been made clear when we ordered.. No refund was offered.. Worse salad ever, will never set foot in there again and we were regular customers.

Yummy! A good choice of gluten free and service with a smile, what more can you ask for?

My husband and I discovered this cafe by chance whilst walking around Sidmouth. A lovely atmosphere and very pleasant inside seating. Decorated to a high standard. Table service, staff were very prompt and friendly. Coffee was great too.

As part of our first visit to Sidmouth, friends took us to Browns for breakfast. Its a lovely interior, warm and friendly as are the staff. The food is excellent (as is the coffee) and very good value. As my wife is a vegetarian she had some good choices ... it's a vegan friendly restaurant to eat in, and the vegetarian food is excellent (not many restaurants can really claim that). We couldn't fault it.

Absolutely the best hot chocolate i have ever had!

Brilliant local cafe, food is delicious and constantly of high quality. The cakes and cream teas are sublime and the friendly owners and staff always make it an enjoyable place to visit. Parking is available in a public car park around the back and they also have a small cosy garden for the Summer months.

Our family visited for breakfast yesterday. Delicious French toast with bacon and maple syrup, avocado toast with crispy bacon, tea cake, coffee and tea. Really tasty food topped off by staff who are glad you are there and couldn't be more helpful.

Such fantastic food, it has now been my weekly regular . Extensive menu, along with daily specials. Also cater for smaller appetites which is great. Lovely conservatory or courtyard garden if you don't want to sit in the main building. Sweet potato and pepper fritters a must!. Fish pie fantastic, staff so helpful, nothing too much trouble. Definitely worth a visit or three!!

We had lunch here after a long walk as well as searching for a vegan-friendly place to eat. The staff are friendly and helpful - they showed us an open space outside at the rear of the restaurant.

Whether for breakfast, lunch or tea, Browns Kitchen is the place for me, The menu supplied is second to none, That's why Browns Kitchen is my No1, From Chard to Sidmouth for my Bacon sarni, A few of these could feed an Army. The staff are brilliant and cannot do enough for you.

Have visited Browns Kitchen before for lunch several times, and it’s my daughter’s favourite place for milkshakes! I recently visited again with a group of friends. The food was excellent, and the staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming.

On our recent visit to Sidmouth, my husband & I decided to try Brown’s Kitchen for our lunch. We obviously caught the cafe at a bad time, but it took over half an hour for anyone to even acknowledge we were there & an hour & a half before we had been fed.

Perfect cafe for veggie / vegan options. Very welcoming and a happy family feel. Would definitely visit again

We really love Brown's, as a local we often pop in once a week for brunch, lunch or one of their gorgeous cream teas! All the food is freshly cooked and they offer an extensive menu including some tasty specials. It has a great atmosphere and friendly staff, a family run cafe with so many yummy homemade cakes, scones and puddings. They also have a small outdoor space, its dog friendly and very clean, even the menus are kept clean! Attention to detail is important to the owners and the food is consistently good, so that's why we love to return and its always worth booking as it gets very busy at lunch and weekends. Thanks Louise, Liv and your lovely team for always taking care of us!

Went in for breakfast and simply great.So nice to get such lovely quality food cooked beautifully.The whole place seems to ooz quality with attention to detail. Presentation of staff, food and interior design all very good. Impressive,cheers.

Bacon and eggs both undercooked. Other dish was brought out wrong twice. Some staff friendly, other staff acted as if they didn't work there (waved to get their attention and all they did was wave back lol).

Great full English, great service

Tucked away on a side street (vs the seafront) we stumbled a great place for breakfast. We were waiting for noon when everyone starts serving lunch but the menu drew us in. I had the small full English breakfast. Fluffy scrambled egg with both sausage and bacon and potatoes. Delicious! My husband had the poached egg, mushrooms, smoked salmon and grilled Halloumi. Also reported as delicious. We look forward to returning next time we’re visiting the area. L

Good honest food at reasonable prices

We visited here and had a very nice cream tea, but as we sat there, we realised how dirty it was. The first side plate we were given had some leftover egg on it, which was replaced quickly. The area where the toilets were, stank of dogs. I appreciate that you welcome dogs in the rear of the shop, but please mop the floor & try to make it smell fresh. Then I glanced up at the roof window & it was completely covered in cobwebs! The floor had a lot of dry mud on it, so had to put my bag on the seat. I will not be eating here again, sorry.

Wholesome food at reasonable prices, good efficient staff.

A nice place for a daytime coffee or a meal. They do cater for special diets. You can also book for an evening meal at the weekend.

In the pouring rain we fancied a coffee and a cake and saw Brown's kitchen. What a great little ace it was, friendly service, great coffee and my wife advises the best flapjack she has ever had. Well done Brown's we will be back.

Stopped for lunch and a drink. Staff were very nice and helpful. Food was great, and it was nice to be asked about vegan options when ordering a vegetarian dish.

The best food! Stilton and mushrooms on toast is unbelievably delicious and was such a surprise. Every one of us loved our lunch. Everything had a tiny twist to it. Also great options for those with allergies. Lovely staff too. I'd come all the way back from London for that Stilton and mushrooms again. Yum!

Had breakfast at Brown's this morning. Great food and really good quality tea and coffee. However, the lady who served us was so manic she made us both feel uncomfortable.

Had a full English for 3 of us, all very nice and staff friendly. Was very busy but did everything to accommodate us. Would def return.

The staff are friendly and the food is OK but we were a little disappointed that the cottage pie was a bit on the bland side and also that "all the trimmings" did not include the pigs in blankets. The drinks were nice.

Felt very uncomfortable here and coffee was horrible when I got home realised they had over charged but didn't feel I could go back

My wife and I travel from Chard to Sidmouth with the main purpose of going to Browns Kitchen. We only have a light breakfast i.e Toast and a Bacon Sandwich, it is worth coming the distance just for the bacon Sandwich ( to die for ). It is now so popular in that it becomes quite full at times but the staff will do there utmost to accommodate you. They have a fantastic menu which is cooked and presented to a very high standard, and the staff are great and very helpful. At peak times it sometimes pays you to phone in and reserve your table for a specific time. If on holiday or local make Browns Kitchen your No1.

I was lucky enough to win two free breakfasts and took the whole family along for brunch. The food is excellent, great quality ingredients. Varied menu - something for everyone and staff happy to adapt anything on the menu as required. Highly recommended!

We are locals and come here as often as we can for breakfast because it is just absolutely hands down the best in Sidmouth! We are never disappointed and feel so lucky to have this fab restaurant in our village :) the new owners are doing an ACE job!!!!
