Beautiful place to stay. Genuinely uplifting; from all the lovely touches inside (homemade marmalade, log fire, good showers and feather duvets), and the majestic views and places to explore outside (smardale viaduct, ewe fell, cautley spout)

Estábamos encantados con Brownber Hall y disfrutamos cada minuto de nuestra celebración familiar. Magnífico entorno, hermoso edificio, ambiente excepcionalmente limpio y relajante; completamente libre de estrés. La conexión Wi-Fi fue excelente, especialmente considerando que todos tenían dispositivos. Recibimos una deliciosa cesta a la llegada llena de pan casero, pasteles, etc., que estaba delicioso. Los propietarios, Peter y Amanda estaban disponibles si era necesario. Las instrucciones para innumerables dispositivos estaban claramente etiquetadas e incluían cafetera, lavavajillas, lavadora y máquina de hacer hielo. Se nota que les encanta lo que hacen. We stopped at this restaurant when driving from Birmingham to Glasgow a few years ago, really tasty food and very friendly owner. Not very often to find tasty and genuine Greek food in the UK for my Greek standards but this place deserves 5 stars.

54 CastleGateOne of the best meals I have ever had, all of the food was rich and cooked to perfection. Despite it being a 3 course meal I left comfortably full rather than bursting at the seams. The atmosphere was lovely with good service and a comfortable feeling inside the place. I had the cheese souffle to start, the fillet steak for my main with peppercorn sauce and the dark chocolate creme brulee for dessert. Without a doubt some of the nicest food I have ever eaten, the meals were not cheap but very much worth the price. Visited on a Thursday evening, a last minute reservation was made but it is always best to phone ahead to confirm that they are still open as Wednesday and Thursday then are not particularly busy and may close early.
