Brown Eagle in City of London, Westminster

Ordered a home delivery through uber eats at 9PM on Friday, had a message to say driver was collecting at 9.40 only to have the order cancelled at 10PM. When I phoned to ask what happened they said the driver hadn't turned up even though Uber eats said the food was being collected 20 minutes before. They then said they didn't have the food! Finally the woman on the phone questioned my race, to which I asked what that had to do with anything? She then hung up on me. Do not use this restaurant unless you want to be disappointed or offended.

I popped in for dinner with my nephew and the food was very authentic and very tasty. The prices were reasonable and the service was very good, unlike other Caribbean restaurants and takeaways that i have used. The Ackee and Saltfish was just like how my grandmother used to make it in Jamaica. So thank you again for allowing me o relive that experience.

I stopped going to Brown Eagle a year ago because the quality of the food had gone down considerably. Recently, I decided to give this restaurant another chance but they failed miserably. For example, I ordered a large serving of curry goat (without rice) which cost £14. The portion was plentiful but it consisted of large bones, lumps of fat and disgusting gristle. To make matters worse, this awful mixture of bones, fat and gristle was swimming in very oily gravy. I could not eat it - I threw the whole lot in the bin. Needless to say, I WILL NOT be going to Brown Eagle again.

I do love to support small black businesses but the customer service here is ridiculous time after time. The food used to be fantastic not anymore today I ordered (via Uber Eats) fried chicken with rice and peas and asked for extra gravy this did not happen the food was cold and very very dry almost hard to swallow. I think I’ve been very loyal but now I don’t even want to order from here anymore. Customer feedback clearly means nothing. Brown Eagle if you don’t address customer concerns you are going to lose customers.

Tried to charge me £7 for a coleslaw lol told me done by weight madness rude staff aswell won’t ever go back

Firstly there was hardly anything on the menus and this was at 6pm !!! Secondly the chicken come drier than Jesus sandals with a slither of baby oil on top. This was supposed to be the sauce: the coleslaw gave me diabetes, it was soaked in so much sugar. It was sooo sweet I could of sold that at the fun fair alongside the candyfloss. And the rice, I don’t even know what to say about the rice. Not one piece of salt or scallion !so all in all I had Heinz jerk sauce, packet rice and oven chicken. All jokes aside this was the worst West Indian food i have ever tasted in my life. Side note I am Caribbean. Please don’t waste your money ! I got food positioning and I’m currently vomiting as I write this the day after.

Vile. Wrong food sent… chicken was literally disgusting. No flavour. I called the shop and was told nothing they can do report it to Uber!

Went into Brown Eagle for take away, food was delicious, some family members were trying this for the first time and were impressed. Surprisingly the small set meal was a good sized portion. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be returning.

My partner and I ordered from them today via Uber eats as we were so looking forward to eat some nice Carribean food; and they could not get our order right! When we call the restaurant no one was really bothered, and did not even care to apologise! I will never order from here again. Entire staff needs to be re trained !

The manager was very attentive and made sure I would have catering done by themselves. Came through for me very last minute & the food was absolutely delicious! A lot of food was provided for a competitive price. Would HIGHLY recommend! Thank you very much!

I had a problem and dealt with the owner who was sincerely apologetic and dealt with the matter professionally and promptly to my great satisfaction. The service ordered was take away and the lockdown was in operation, so unable to answer any of the questions below definitively. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I ordered the curry goat rice and peas, and was really annoyed that the majority was bones. When I called to complain the lady had the nerve to tell me thats how curry goat is! Firstly, being West Indian myself and having eaten curry goat my entire life, I appreciate that curry goat can be boney, but not ALL bones! She didn't really care and said I needed to contact Uber Eats, which is what I did and they refused a refund. I won't be ordering from there ever again as I'm sick and tired of wasting my hard earned money with people who don't give a damn about customers being pleased with the food or service, its happening way too often and makes no sense. West Indian food shops always get a bad rap for their inconsistency customer service wise, and jokes are regularly made about it, but im tired of it and will no longer support people who can't do the basics I.e. HAVING BASIC MANNERS for the people lining their pockets!

Just had the worst experience ever in a take away restaurant. We purchased some take away meals one of which was ackee & saltfish and when we got home had a large portion of rice, little ackee and next to invisible salt fish. We telephone the shop and the person who called herself the manager was extremely rude. We took the meal back to the shop as proof as she said to do, but when we got there it was clear from her body language and tone that she was not prepared to listen and had already made her mind up. She point blank refused to do anything about it or even give us a refund. I even showed the portion (still on my dinner plate) to customers in the shop and asked them what they thought. They agreed it was out of order and that that was not a decent portion. Another customer tried to reason with the Manager on my behalf as she still refused to listen. I decided to take photos of the meal but the manager then became more aggressive at that point and tried to grab my mobile phone. I would absolutely NOT recommend this place to anyone. We had ordered meat dishes from them before, but this will definitely be the last.

Ordered stewed chicken and rice for 3 of us, got home to find I'd payed £20 for a few bits of burnt hard chicken and a ton of rice. Not the first time we've been dissappointed with this place but went for convenience. Won't be happening again as there's lots more west indian restaurants with better food popping up in my area.

No hay urgencia y es siempre una larga cola.Somos tan regulares en este lugar y, sin embargo, a veces es muy frustrante.

Hoy entró en la tienda, pero el hombre de allí estaba más interesado en tratar de hacer bromas que en atender a los clientes que esperaban. ¡No comas de este lugar! ! Pedí de Uber come cuando me dieron la comida, fue el peor pollo que he comido. Frío, soso, sin especias y muy seco. . Parecía que el pollo tenía días. . se fue al estrecho en la papelera y créeme que no soy exigente con la comida pero que ni siquiera era comestible. . . Rango de comida no desperdicies tu dinero! !

This is my "go to" place when i need comfort food. The rice and peas are well worth a visit if you have nothing else. Carrot cake and coconut cake are lovely

Esta comida del Caribe con un área para sentarse y un área de bar también, el servicio es típico del estilo caribeño con un toque de verdadero servicio al cliente.La comida es deliciosa, increíble y deliciosa, el arroz y los guisantes son para morirse, el tamaño de la porción es generoso y definitivamente vale la pena degustar el ponche.Lo recomendaría y volveré.

Ebt no aceptaban dinero escocés, lo cual era un poco molesto, así que teníamos que comprar algo en la tienda al otro lado de la calle para llegar cambiar dinero en inglés. Tampoco en poner las bolas, pero no nos habíamos dado cuenta que hasta nos regresamos al hotel con la comida demasiado tarde para hacer nada! A pesar de esas dos pegas la comida era increíble! El mejor de la comida caribeña que hemos tenido! Me hubiese gustado tener uno en Glasgow! Absolutamente delicioso 100% volveremos. .

A pesar de la comida es bastante agradable, el personal es constantemente grosero y poco profesional cuando me atienden y me dicen que no sé por qué vuelvo como el servicio es terrible! Esa fue mi última visita. Asistieron el Domingo de la semana pasada y estaba en la cola para casi una hora con sólo 4 personas en frente y no hola, disculpa o bienvenida de cualquier tipo cuando llegué al frente.

Pobre comunicación. La operadora me dijo que esperar 1 hora para la entrega. 2 horas más tarde! ! ! El hombre entrega apareció con la mitad de la orden! El recibo mi pedido demostró claramente, así que sabía que no era mi error. Peldaño de la tienda a explicar todo y no me dan una disculpa. Un servicio mediocre.

Probé la sopa de guisantes, tenía rojo mucho sabor, era realmente agradable para comer, una porción razonable también! También probé la cabra curry, era tierna cayó el hueso sin problemas, un montón de carne y huesos casi no era un gran positivo. También probé el rabo desde allí, anteriormente no es un fan de ella, pero traté de águila marrón y era sabrosa y yo disfruté bastante. Gran variedad de zumos recién hechos! Asegúrate de probar más de una!

Great food here at a reasonable price.. the potato salad here is amazing too. You get the good old Jamaican customer service.. I'll leave that comment to your imagination ;)

Las especias aquí es bastante suave, pero la comida siempre es deliciosa. Precioso rabo estofado de carne empalagoso con comida buena y dura. Tampoco demasiado grasos. Un tirón fuerte, de sabor agradable y humo pero no me impresionó como en algunos lugares. Además, no puedo para entender una crítica mala de servicio al cliente. Son preciosas, las señoras aquí! Alegre y servicial y dispuesto con una broma o una risa. Y sus jugos son realmente buenas. 100% recomendable.

I just came in to order some food but one of the members of staff was plain rude. Not only did she ignored us but she patronised us after we'd asked for a menu (which wasn't available because of refurbishing) and then laughed at when we asked what side dishes there were. We decided to walk out after being made to feel unwelcome.

We had take out and I've never had authentic caribbean food before and it was lovely. Huge portions so more than enough for leftovers. I'll be coming back

Top food. Jerk chicken, rice and peas. Chicken curry gravy on the rice, yams. Would give this more than five star. Recommend for anyone that likes this type of food.

Love this place so much. Good jerk chicken rice and peas and rum cake is so yummy! There stew chicken and curry goat is good too!

We often go to brown eagle on the Hertford Rd as it's one of the best places for rice n ' peas, with gravy it's lovely. Jerk chicken is moist and flavoursome, coconut cake is tasty as well.
