Went with some friends for Sunday roast, the food was amazing, just like a home cooked roast. It was real good value for money. Service was great and the staff were friendly. Will definitely be returning.

This restaurant is situated in the same building as brookside living where we have family living so makes it very hand for lunch with a choice of snacks or sandwiches or a meal,I had probably the best steak and ale pie I’ve ever eaten and it’s homemade,my wife had scampi, also delicious,I finished my meal with homemade cookie and coffee. Would absolutely recommend this place.

Passed this place for years but thought we'd try with Covid-19, as felt that as it's located a bit out of the town centre, it would not be as busy. What a great little gem we found. Since initial visit we have been several times since, some within the same week. Great service from all staff, Chatty and helpful a special mention to Connor. There is plenty of space between the tables, all who entered where requested to use hand sanitiser by staff, who all wore masks. The staff are quick to wipe tables and chairs when they become vacant. Great home cooked food and plenty of it, the Full English 👌. A regular go too place now, a truly hidden gem. Well done to all the staff in Brookside Bistro.

Raw kofte kebab. Cut the pitta bread like a barm cake so unable to use to create a kebab. Oily and inedible. Wouldn’t feed to my dog, avoid this place.

Sad to see it’s lost some of its sparkle Really sorry to say this, but the place has definitely gone downhill since the new ownership took over. We’ve been coming here for special occasions like Easter for years, and it was always our go-to for something a bit more special. We recently returned for Mother’s Day after a few months away and had the carvery — and honestly, I was quite disappointed. It wasn’t bad — the food was still nice — but it’s lost the wow factor it used to have. It just felt like an average carvery now, rather than the exceptional experience we used to look forward to. The meats used to be top-notch, the gravy was always hot and rich, and there was an abundance of fresh veg. That sparkle has sadly faded as I didn’t get any of that form my visit and I’m sad to say Iv heard the same from others. I do wish the new owners all the best, and I really hope in time they can bring it back to the high standard it held for so long. I’ll return in a few months and leave another review — fingers crossed things pick back up. But if not, word may start to spread, and that would be such a shame for a place that used to be one of the best around.
