Britannia Hotel in Birmingham

Excellent location. Just behind Grand Central and the New Street Station. Check out time is a bit too early @10:00 am though.

Room was way too warm. The a/c only blows hot air.

Not the prettiest hotel from the outside, but once inside the door it's a basic hotel which is going through some refurbishments. Rooms a good size, kettle, tea and coffee sachets. Would happily stay again for a night or two if back in Birmingham.

Great location in the heart of Birmingham with good value prices

Had to book last minute as we missed our connecting travel. Was useful for somewhere to bunk down for the night but wouldn't necessarily return again unless stranded again. Had booked and confirmed a double, ended up with 2 beds just pushed together and was still made up as singles. Felt the price was quite steep for an internal room with no windows but as we were stranded didn't have much choice. Comfy beds but AWFUL pillows, was better off without. Had already been back to reception once to ask for a top sheet as the room was overheated and was too hot to sleep with a duvet, by time I realised the quality of pillows I was just done past caring as I had already felt a bit of an inconvenience rocking up last minute and then asking for an extra sheet and some more milks for the room which they had allegedly ran out of... Value wasn't terrible if it had been the double we'd asked for and had a window. Was very disorientating and felt a bit claustrophobic, size of room ample but just felt that way without a window.

Ended up spending the night here due to a train cancellation - extremely reasonable price and surprisingly high quality room. Would recommend

Taxi couldn't stop me in front. So incase you are travelling with lots of load like me, you might want to reconsider. But the hotel is amazing in terms of service, room etc

Stood waiting to check-in for an hour and a half. I've stayed at other Britannia hotels before, but for some reason, this one seems to struggle with check-in. Room was clean and we had a big king size bed, but no window in the room and it was stuffy and hot, no TV remote or remote for the air-con.
