Shockingly bad, average pizza and bad waiters especially the hosts

We thought it was a sit down location, but the staff were very helpful accommodating us. Take away was not an option for us at the time so we ate at the window. Crispy crust, salivating tomato sauce and the topping were filling.

Absolutely fantastic thin crust pizza. The people who rate this lower don’t know thin crust. It could use a bit more cheese but that is compensated for with the nice crust. No flop or wetness. Slice stays upright when you hold it. I give it 5 stars. The staff were also great

Below average and overpriced. Almost nothing on pizza for £15. Stay away from this place.

Overly expensive, overly complicated yet mediocre pizza. The by-product of a Michelin chef trying to cater to the masses. You'll get better pizza at Civerinos or literally anywhere else in town.

Absolutely shocking pizza. Wet, tasteless and expensive. Toppped off with having to listen to the most banal chat between chavvy staff. Will never return.

Pizza is quite decent, nice, light and very tomatoey. Freshly made in store as far as I can tell, unlike some takeaway chain pizza. Staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Primarily a takeaway so not too much seating space, but some seats along the windows.

If you expect the classic Napoli's pizza, you are in the wrong place.. If you want something new and different,it is the place for you.. ham and pineapple probably the best..

I got a Margherita pizza. It was ok, not the best ever. The mac ‘n cheese are quite good.

Average, average, average. Dough was the highpoint. Tomato sauce, swimming in it and no herbs. Not enough cheese or topping, like really short on it. Topping was averagely tasty but not special and not worth the price. Cheese was Ok, again nothing special. And chop the basil. Who wants a whole leaf to chow down on.

Really quite good! I got the puttanesca pizza, kid got the pepperoni. Good size pies, good toppings; they didn't skimp out on the toppings like some places. Good dough also. ONLY COMPLAINT: Their gluten free crust is bad; a place like this can do better (Franco Manca has better gluten free crust). It's laid back but you should still probably get there early to avoid the rush.

Very disappointing. Greasy crusts (why?), floury weird cheese, Mother in law said, 'It doesn't really taste like pizza.' Threw the leftovers away because no one wanted them the next day. Staff were lovely. Please come back Anima

Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to give it a try, and I'm glad we did! We got two simple pizze: margherita and 'nduja. Both were great, and not overly oily or cheesy. The tomato sauce was rich and liberally applied! :D

The worst pizza i've had in a long time. I ordered the Fennel & Sausage pizza. I requested no broccoli on it and it arrived covered in what looked like kale and absolutely no fennel. The dough was greasy, the pizza tasteless and the sausage tasted cheap. Most of it went in the bin. We also had the misfortune of sampling the Puttanesca a Margarita which were equally dismal. I've had better pizza at children's birthday parties....

The food was average. Taste wise, nothing out of the ordinary for a pizza. The different styles was interesting, but a bit pricey, £14 for a Hawaii pizza... Great service from the counter staff.

Très bonne pizza, la pâte est fine et légère, la sauce tomate bien assaisonnée et goûteuse. La viande est bien assaisonnée et même la pizza classique est l une des meilleures tomate fromage que j’ai goûté

Stumbled across this lovely restaurant by accident after the owner of Clarks Bar next door directed us here for food (he also owns Brioche). Food was lovely, side order of fries is huge! Good service and nice chat with the owner.

We have a pizza most weekends and like to think we know our pizza! The staff were so friendly, happy to discuss options on menu (menu isn’t extensive but great options) and service was quick. The pizza bases are the best we have had in edinburgh and we loved the fries. We had our 4 year old with us and they put a different seasoning on them!

I would eat here again but a bit disappointed. The Pizza's are decent for the price but you wouldn't be missing much by going to a good chippy at half the price instead. The sugo they use isn't that good and the overall taste of the Pizza is a bit... American. I was hoping for more flavour which this Pizza just did not have. If you want good Italian pizza, Salerno and Café Maradonna are places in Edinburgh for a high-quality meal. Around the same price but in a totally different league.

Ham and pineapple just tasted like cheese with too much salt. Street slaw was too dry and spicey. Not really worth £17. Staff were friendly and service was quick.

So much oil in the pizza the US almost invaded. Hairs found in one of the pizzas. Complete trash and quite embarrassed that we paid for this. As far away from pizza as you can be whilst still calling it pizza. The oil slick it left on our table can be seen from space. We had to dispose of it using a specialist waste removal company to prevent further damage to the environment around us. Luckily we could burn the remaining oil to help keep the flat warm. I don’t know what was a bigger lie, Gordon Ramsay playing for Rangers or calling this a pizza.

Thin pizza base cooked in an overly greased pan. Not even stone-fired. Was so greasy I think the chippy next door may be healthier. Jolly's, La Favorita, many places in town are way better. Won't be back.

Only came across this place by chance en route somewhere else. Both my wife and were delighted with our food. I had a pulled pork brioche roll with crispy onions and an egg, it really was lovely and my wife said her mushroom brioche bun was super tasty. It was a strange atmosphere, completely dead, no other customers that we would see. Given it was Friday 12 o'clock we were both a bit surprised.

It was a bit of a walk from the centre, but I knew it would do me good and I wanted to see a film that was showing in the basement, as part of the Edinburgh Fringe festival. I stayed to have a bite to eat afterwards. My sour dough bread with egg and avocado was delicious. A lovely, relaxed environment and very friendly, efficient service.

We visited for brunch on a Sunday morning and it was great - yummy food ( the fries deserve special mention but everything was lovely ) and a nice table by an open window overlooking the garden. Extremely friendly and helpful waitress too .

I sometimes grab pastries from here as i live around the corner, and i decided to take a friend for brunch one morning. The food was outstanding, and very reasonably priced. The owner was passive aggressively dressing down a member of staff as we entered, then when we left I pulled my wallet out and the person behind the counter told me it was credit card only "That's fine" i said, the owner, looming to our left, said something to the effect of "Well, it doesn't matter if it is fine with you, we only take credit cards" He then pulled the member of staff out from behind the counter and was telling them off in front of us as we left. My friend asked if i knew this man, as the interaction we'd had was more similar to something that you'd have with someone in your social circle who hates you. Since then it is impossible to avoid seeing him telling his staff off if you pass regularly. I witnessed someone tell him that he needs to treat his staff better and he exploded with rage at them, telling them they were banned. Though i have found that simply avoiding eye contact with him means you won't have a problem. So in conclusion, the food is great and if you can ignore the slightly tense atmosphere, or interacting in absolutely any way with the owner, you'll have a nice experience. I feel like he might reply to this, but honestly even a short visit there yourself and you'll probably witness him in action.

Afternoon Tea was superb! My first time in Scotland and first time and The Spence and I was blown away! Beautiful decor, amazing tea and even better service from Jess and Sasha who made the experience a 10/10 🥰 I loved it so much I’m lost for words which may be unhelpful but honestly you just have to go. Treat your day with a visit and be as happy as I am right now! So glad I had the extras too to take my Afternoon Tea to the next level.
