Bridge Inn in Weymouth and Portland

Our experience was shocking ...Arrived with our family just before 2pm. My husband checked that food was still being served and that we could be accommodated (5 people, including toddler, a baby and a dog). We all managed to disembark and with pushchair and dog on lead, entered the premises. Waited for a few minutes to see the barman who promptly informed us that service was now finished! It was 2.02pm! He repeated it without any apology or explanation other than referring to an earlier conversation with my husband advising him that we'd have a half hour wait (which we all agreed on). Honestly, we thought he was joking to begin with until he said "as I said service is finished". Couldn't believe what had occurred and had to leave to try and find elsewhere to eat. Turning away business these days is something that I find incredible especially as we were polite and had already checked when we parked. Won't be back!!

Lovely couple of evenings spent here while staying across the road at the haven site. The food is absolutely beautiful we had a table of 10 and every meal çame out at the same time and beautifully hot.

Looks great for the 5 mins I was there until we were told the kitchen Is closed from 2 pm. You might want to add that small detail to your site.

Lovely country pub with great selection of beers and ciders, quality food. It's a shame the wood fired pizza oven was out of order.

Only called in for an aperitif, it has loads of ambience and a good menu.

Used the BI for 3 days this week, in the evening. Absolutely brilliant. Nothing to fault. Service quick and efficient. Food excellent. Will be returning next year when on holiday.

My family and friends ate here whilst on holiday, really good food, good prices and clean and friendly setting.

Friendly staff, and the food is amazing, big portions and not overpriced 👏, ate here nearly every day of our holiday, and I can highly recommend My favourite dish was the Steak & Ale pie, the Apple cRUMble is delicious (if you have room after your main) The sunday roasts are really nice too, again good portion size (i had a medium) and reasonably priced 👌

Booked here short notice for party of 12 people, no problem all food came out together and was all perfect and hot . Highly recommended, thanks for a pleasant evening.

Sunday roast is qualty and served with pride

Dog friendly and a pleasant atmosphere and a beautiful sunday roast. Just the way to spend a pleasurable sunday. Very reasonable price.

Visited for Sunday lunch with elderly relatives. If you go for the roast, there are three plate size options. "Small" satisfied the nonogenarians and "Medium" was perfect for the hungry chap I am. I dread to think how big the "Large" is! Reasonably priced, OK food with quick service

Holibobs end of June. Found this lovely pub just outside our haven park. Steak n ale pie to die for highly recommend the cauliflower cheese.fare priced proper pub food .we ate here two nights and if stayed longer would have eaten here again.friendly staff well stocked bar. Whilst visiting family in Weymouth we always visit this pub for an evening meal. They have a dedicated dog friendly area where you can eat or just have a drink. Staff are very friendly and the pub itself is clean. The food was fantastic and is always piping hot when we've received it. There is also a restaurant at which no dogs are allowed which is great because it gives people a peace of mind that no the whole place allows dogs.

Food was lovely, nice old fashioned pub but the food was certainly modern. Staff were very welcoming and took the time to chat. The music was an added bonus too. I would certainly recommend and intend to go back later on in the year when I return to Weymouth.

Food was amazing and the staff so friendly! Enjoyed drinks in the garden too. Will definitely return next time we’re in the area.

The meal was superb, little touches took the meal to another level. Outstanding, good piping hot, attentive staff gentle background music Menu competitively priced, with specials board. Delightful country pub with large beer garden and children's play area. Will certainly return.

One of my favourite pubs. Great atmosphere, food is always amazing, great selection of drinks. Dart board, outdoor area, pizza oven which the pizzas are just so nice. They do ribs no on set days. And bank holidays they always have something going on for families and friends ie music or events. Dog friendly too.

Always manage to get a table in the bar area with our pooch. Good food and lovely atmosphere

It's the chilled vibe that causes me to drop in whenever I'm I'm the area. It's a shame I don't live nearer. It's a proper pub doing all the things a lot of other places can only dream of. My advice would be to not drive by but to pop in and see what a mean. I can imagine that it gets very busy in the summer. Visit now, it's lovely. Sea Fury and decent Malbec. What more could you ask for.

Food was absolutely awesome. We had the roast and was absolutely amazing. Roast potatoes were fantastic. Service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended.

We keep returning for the sunday roast, meat, carrots, peas, swede, parsnip, stuffing, potatoes and gravy, food always lovely, hot and very filling. Worth visiting

Called in for dinner, looks so lovely from outside, not so inside very dated. 2 ham egg and chips...packet ham not gammon slices. I had lasagne....awful cheap tasting, didn't eat it, hubby did out of embarrassment. Prime spot and such a waste...come on guys your pub could be so much better.

A very nice pub. My partner and I didn't eat at the Bridge Inn but we did visit twice for drinks during our recent holiday. The service was excellent and friendly. The pub and outside areas are very clean. The Bridge Inn is nicely tucked out the way, you can easily forget that there is a very busy Weymouth road not too far. Very spacious pub, with a great menu. Awesome.

Asked for 2 coffees.. the older chap rolled his eyes at me and got me 2 coffees, they were only filled half way up the cup so i asked for a top up of milk and he said no in a very rude and abrupt way, such a shame because the girls behind the pizza bar abd the young chap behind the bar are lovely , the older guy puts you off going up to order, he let's everyone down , we also spent £13 on 2 cokes and 2 fruit shoots ( not real fruit shoots either ) .

Went hoping to grab a Sunday roast. Unfortunately they'd run out of beef but that's the chances you take going mid afternoon. Had the pork and definitely wasn't disappointed. Everything beautifully cooked and the gravy was amazing

Very good nice clientele and really pleasant customers there really pleasant please try it yourself do not take my word for it Sunday roast on a Sunday 10/10 even cauliflower cheese lisana chip salad brilliant as I say do not take my word for it try it try it for yourself.

Traditional pub serving excellent Sunday roasts. I had the beef and my wife had the pork, both meals were delicious and the portion sizes generous. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will hopefully go back again before we leave the area.

Came to this pub twice while holidaying in Weymouth. The first night we came for drinks and sat bar side. Great environment and great staff who are attentive to any needs and make you feel welcomed into the pub. The second night we came for food and sat in the restaurant part of the pub where the staff were also very attentive, also a range of specials which are in addition to their menu. I went with the lasagne which was delicious!! Wish we had more time to come back and try the Pizza!! Overall great experience!

Every year we go it top quality food and the workers in there Excellent to there customers 100% recommend this place to each and everyone who reads the. You won't be disappointed.

The waitresses were amazing, really helpful and interacted with the kids. Good selection of food and it was really tasty. It came quickly and everything was served with a smile. Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again next time we are in Weymouth.

Lovely pub. Excellent food and hospitality. Added bonus that it is both dog and child friendly, so we were able to eat our meal inside. Would advise booking a table. Food was reasonably priced, and the menu was varied. The only downside was that parking can be difficult as you have to go down a lane to get to the pub.

Lush food, lovely staff and great atmosphere

A wonderful rustic family pub with excellent food and service. There is outside seating and a decent sized play area for the kids. Free parking at the front also. A hidden gem if you know where to look.

Very good pub food and service Drinks were expensive though £6.10 for a 175ml dry white wine! Made my eyes water for some considerable time!

Took the kids for a meal at short notice, food was really good and you can tell that it's more effort and home cooked than your local chain pub. Very good value and the kids meals were such a good size!

Obviously a pub for the haven crowd. Rip off on every level food microwaved and fried. Decor looks like a 90s legion and is priced high for the dog food they serve

The food is always piping hot when they bring it to the table which is what I like and ALL your order brought at the same time, no waiting on someone's meal to come.

Excellent experience ruined by silly things. Disabled access was good, initial service by a young lady who took orders was marvelous, however upon ordering two meals requested had run out. We then had two orders arrive incorrect and after asking them to correct one of the meals was basically scraped onto a new plate, feel like kitchen staff let down an otherwise very pleasant meal.

Always come to the Bridge Inn for Sunday Roast, when we stay in Weymouth. Lovely Sunday dinner.

My son took us here, I had a burger, my wife scampi and our grandson chicken nuggets all came out a few minutes after order drinks, my wife is diabetic and could do her insulin jab. My son had the ribs I'm not a fan but the looked and smelt fantastic, my daughter in law had a pizza. All the food was great. Thanks. We'll certainly be back when we're in Weymouth again.

The warm welcome was not forthcoming,and when I took my lipstick rimmed glass back to the surly barman he , just tipped my drink into another glass and pushed it back at me , no apology , wish we’d realised the spice ship was a stones throw up the hill , chalk and cheese

Excellent customer service, the food was extremely good and very good value for money. There is a vast range of drinks available and a varied menu. Definitely recommend and will be going again. This was my third visit to the Bridge Inn, and yet again, I was not disappointed , nor were my colleagues who joined me on this occasion.

A great selection of beers didn’t get chance to sample the food this time, but I’ve been using this pub for over 40 years.
