Bridge Farm Coffee House & Cafe in St. Helens

We were working in the area on a Sunday, and found, this was one of only a few cafes open. The breakfast was delicious, staff were nice.

Visited at the weekend for the first time extremely friendly staff food was a delight. Setting very charming plenty of parking and facilities very clean what more could you ask for would not hesitate to visit again and Indeed I certainly will make it one of my go to places.

Went for breakfast. Made to feel extremely unwelcome.. no smile or greeting. Told they had a big party coming in..but we could have a table. Food was ok. Limited parking. Try being friendly… a smile goes a long way!

Why have I not been there before, it's only 20 minutes away. My Mum, Sister and myself had a lovely meal there Tuesday 09th July 2024. The full all day breakfast was amazing, the poached egg was perfect 👌 there was a good range of veggie options for my Sister as well, she had a huge slice of quiche. The building is obviously a restored farm building which is stunning. I've booked on the site with my Wife later on in July.

Visited this morning. Was the first to enter. For some reason we were last to be seen and have our order taken. My partner asked one of the staff if we can order, she was rudely told that the waitress will come now. We still waited while we seen all of the other customers being served first. We went back to the counter and asked, can we order please. The staff replied "I told you she is coming" My partner then asked if she can have a take away cup, the staff member seemed like she didn't want to serve us. We feel that this very unwelcoming towards as we only wanted to order and then everyone else was being served before us when we were first to enter the venue. We always go to bridge farm as it's one of our favourite venues to visit, but for some reason the attitude of the staff members was disgusting and not a very nice experience, really affected our feelings to come back. Seeing as we are loyal customers, who regularly buys from here, Christmas Trees and plants as well. Please look at how your staff members treat the general public as this was very unwelcoming.

Driven past hundreds of times never realised the cafe was there, will not be driving past to often from now on. What a great place and good food !!

Cannot praise this site enough. A beautiful location, beautifully kept , with a fab cafe with yummy food and even plants for sale. What lovely people the owners are. Caring and very down to earth. Already booking my return. Thank you for a wonderful stay 😊

Had breakfast at this place and it was lovely

Beautiful little place, the food, service, quality and the ambience is absolutely perfect. Beautiful big picture window, where you can sit and get the winter sun. Indoor and outdoor seating available, beautiful stripped back stone structure, Also, there are chickens walking wild outside around the little garden shop that is adjoining, which will happily fascinate any children you take along. Go you won't be disappointed.

Lovely café, great food and drinks, friendly service and dog friendly too. We ordered breakfast sandwiches, coffee and hot chocolate, all of which were excellent. We will definitely return.

Whilst staying at the lodge we had 2 amazing breakfasts from this lovely cafe. They also catered safely for our coeliac daughter and took extra precautions and my daughter did it was the nicest GF bread she's had in forever. Thanks so much for your yummy food and help.

Lovely little place that in the summer can accommodate more people with spaces opened up with good weather. Food as far ive seen on the many times I've been has been good, i do have a weakness for the cake-away from here. Its a shame its not massive because its a lovely place to relax and have a natter, a favourite of bicycle enthusiasts on a long ride looking for a coffee fix

Called for lunch while we were out for a bike ride. Service was slow but that's because it was very busy. Food good except ploughman's didn't come with crusty roll as advertised on the menu, sliced bread just isn't the same. Also no pork pie which is one of main ingredients of a ploughman's. Even so would call again.

Now that's a breakfast everything cooked to my personal taste. Beautiful.

Booked here as a table of 6 for a special occasion. When we arrived, we were informed that there would be a potential 20-25 minute wait. Okay, that wasn't too bad. After approximately half an hour, one of our party asked a passing staff member about the wait, who we found quite abrupt and rude. Her answer was 'I don't know, we are very busy, you're just going to have to be patient with us'. Bit snappy, but I guess she was stressed so we let it slip. After 50 mins, enough was enough. I went back to the till and asked why we were told a 20-25 minute wait when it was now 50 minutes. The girl behind the counter was very polite, and went to ask the kitchen. She returned and said there would be at least another 30 minute wait on top of the 50 minutes we had already waited. Absolutely diabolical! We booked here especially as they had outside seating and were dog friendly. We had also been in the past and it was always great. Maybe in future, they should be a bit more honest about the wait times then we might not have just got up and left.

Never seen a cafe so full of flys very unhygienic and off putting they said had a fly sapper but clearly not no measure taken ....very of putting as food was nice could of had citronella candles or oil and there many other uses ...flys landing on tables by the minute shows there not using anything and been to many other farm cafes that don't have that problem

Really wondered if I should write a review or not, as I think it’s important to support local businesses but after the second experience of poor service I think it’s good to be honest. Most recent trip resulted in us waiting half an hour with no sign of any staff to offer a menu, let alone take an order. Our table still had dirty cups from the previous customers. Partner finally got fed up of waiting and went to ask a member of staff to take a drinks order. Waited a further 20 mins only for two cold coffees and three kids juices to arrive. Had to ask for one of the coffees to be remade, cue another long wait. In the end I just went to pay and told them not to bother. I think it’s worth saying that at this point the place wasn’t overly busy and remember, we literally just wanted some coffees and cold drinks. The two young members of staff we saw seemed reluctant to take anyone on/offer service and showed no sense of urgency. There were no apologies for waits or checking customers were ok. The absolute joke of being asked if I wished to leave a tip when paying up…

Nice farm cafe, excellent cooked breakfast. My wife and I didn't want the black pudding. I asked whether it could be swapped for something else. I was told that they don't swap over the weekend,because they're too busy,but do swap during the week! There were only 4 people in at the time. Besides that,the food was Great!!

Had a lovely large black coffee and a crispy on the outside and soft on the inside chocolate brownie for £3.25. Available to all pensioners up to 11.00am Tuesday to Thursday. Delightfully served. Definitely recommended to all my doggy owner friends and non doggy owner friends in Rainford.

Great place. Dog friendly, even tho we don't have one. Great service. Nice and clean. Staff so polite. Efficient most of time. As it can get busy. Food is good and locally sourced. Great taste. Nice place if passing or for regular up or down the Rd. Toilets pretty big and can cater for wheel chairs. Campers, bikers, cyclist, walkers , it's a must.

We had a lovely afternoon tea for my cousin’s birthday. Food was gorgeous and plenty of it. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. All dietary requirements met without any fuss. Thanks to all the staff 😀

Second time visiting on a Sunday today and left after 30 minutes sitting down and not being given menu's or asked for our order. Definitely either not enough staff or not attentive enough for a busy weekend.

Want to step back in time where you and your camper are treated with warmth and civility Want a site that has within 10th yards a great pub plus the branch line station to Liverpool and Manchester a site whereinformality is the rule of the day. There's lots going on with hens ,ponies,plants, and excellent cafe No animals infringe into the camping area Turn the corner and suddenly you are in the middle of green fields . After a brief time you realise this is how camping use to be . No six metre spaces, no allocated pitches. It's all very slow and natural.There is a brilliant old fashioned cafe on site where the food is excellent. The toilets and showers are spotlessly clean , with bags of hot water at no charge .should you want to buy ,fresh eggs or a wide range of plants, there are a set of poly tunnels producing flowers and bushes of every description. Jeanette and John are very willing to help and very switched on .You can even bring your dog. This was our third visit to the farm and it gets better every visit . Well done somebody who puts customers first. If you want peace ,quiet and relaxation away from it all this is the site for you

Excellent quick polite service with hot bacon sausage egg on toast cooked to your liking perfect as competitively priced

We booked for a group of ladies for a midweek lunch and requested table indoors but despite having an email confirmation our booking was apparently not listed in the book. Our indoor table was by the toilets. We were brought our drinks (tepid tap water) and a small glass of ice cubes between us all, and our lunches (baked spuds, sandwiches, salads) quite quickly but that was the last we saw of the waitress. The salads were a bit basic, needed more lettuce and less dicing. Don't know if they did delicious home made cakes or desserts because we were not offered any. We cleared the table ourselves. We found it rather off-hand, there only seemed to be 2 girls on duty and maybe they were a bit short of experience. Sadly I won't be rushing back to find out.

Called in for a morning breakfast. Food delicious served with the bonus of Heinz tomato sauce . Pleasant staff. Will call in again.

Have been here camping on a number of occasions. Lovely campsite with great facilities. Café does some lovely food. Fresh eggs on sale too. Highly recommend it.

Visited here at weekend with friends after a previous visit which we enjoyed, Unfortunately this visit was very disappointing, My friends ordered Avocado and poached egg, Very disappointed overdone egg sliced avocado on dull dry toast, The last time we visited was on artisan style bread lovely presented, Mashed avocado with runny egg, Mine and my partners was also just normal dull bread, For the cost of £32 was very overpriced for what we received, Unfortunately nowadays this is a treat at the weekend and presentation and quality products are a must to keep your customers coming back, Sorry we won't be returning here, Such a shame as we travelled from Formby to visit because our 1st experience was so good,

I visited this place with my partner and our small dog for a tea/coffee and a cake. Everything was delicious! I’ll highly recommend it. The staff were very friendly and it’s amazing that we can visit the place with our best four legs friends ! There are sitting area outdoor and indoor.

Nice tiny cafe. Small menu, reasonably priced. The eggs benedict was lovely. Unfortunately they only had 1 muffin so one had to be on toast. Not a big deal. However when you order a scone with jam and cream only to be told they've no jam it is a bit odd. I mean who hasn't got a spare jar of jam in the cupboard when you run a cafe?! We'd go again, hopefully just after the delivery wagon had been. Bx

Booked in advance for 5 cyclists and the Service and Food was excellent. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, it's also right next to the Rainford Linear Line if you want to burn some calories after you have eaten. Update 10/02/22 Stopped off while out cycling with a friend, as usual the food and service was very good. Well worth stopping off at if your passing.

Good food at a reasonable price. Friendly and comfortable atmosphere in a small but well decorated cafe, also has exterior seating in self contained pods, overall would recommend a visit.

Came here with my Husband for Breakfast.we both really enjoyed it. He had a small breakfast and I had Poached egg with Avacado on toast.The only prob we had is that we both are tall and our legs wouldn't fit under the table. So we both were a bit uncomfortable whilst having breakfast.Otherwise a great breakfast...

I enjoyed a my very first time visit to the Bridge Farm Cafe on News Lane, Rainford, Merseyside.. I will definitely be going back on a regular basis from now on to check out the garden plants that are as it truly is an hidden gem I found the ambience very friendly and inviting inside the cafe, of which was spotlessly clean and tidy, and outside was quite spacious and well laid out too with a decent amount of space for car parking at the rear of the farm/cafe. When myself and a friend was served by (Grace) one of the staff members, she had a lovely, warm friendly genuine smile on her face and looked after us so well and served very quickly too.. I found the menu was quite varied and reasonably priced considering the lovely rural location.. As previously mentioned, I'm definitely going back to Bridge Farm Cafe and also to check out the garden plants and also to look at the campsite too.

Another one of Rainford's hidden gems. A lovely tranquil retreat for campers or caravans. Horses, cafe & all sorts of plants available to buy. Dog friendly. Great for walkers too! Plenty of parking available. The owners son was really helpful, polite & friendly.

Nice cafe with seats both inside and out. If sitting out beware of the chickens running around. Good quality food and I had a very tasty breakfast sandwich of bacon, sausage and egg. I particularly liked the sausage My daughter and partner also enjoyed their lunch.

We have been coming here for a couple of years now, and we love the place. The café is perfect for a relaxed breakfast or lunch, and the campsite has great facilities. Above all, the people are always so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Been here loads of times to the cafe mostly and campsite twice. Lovely food and smashing staff. Never had a a bad meal here, the lasagne and breakfasts are my favourites. The campsite has great facilities well maintained in a peaceful country area. The owners even lent us some camp chairs after I broke mine! Definitely recommend a visit both for food and a camp.

Stopped here for drinks whilst out cycling with my son. Sat at an outdoor table, took our helmets off etc place wasn’t busy, but got moved about three times, apparently tables were reserved or booked but no signage. Staff walked past but didn’t say anything,...
