This place is brill for takeaway or sit in. Lovely friendly atmosphere with attentive staff. Menu is great and freshly prepared though cake selection always different to other coffee establishments. Worth a visit then walk out front door and you are a stroll from sea front

Stopped here to have lunch but missed the cut off. Donaghadee is a mix of family run cafes and badly run restaurants. Thankfully Bridewell fits into the cafe category. The staff are young, knowledgeable and enthusiastic serving fine locally roasted coffee and delicious richly baked cakes. I’ll have lunch another day (order before 3pm). They always warmly welcome pets. Cool place to have a coffee - always on my list of places to chill.

Probably the best breakfast we’ve had. Creatively beautiful little spot that oozes love and care in all they do. Everything is just that little bit special right down to the flat whites. We’ll done Johnny and team - you’ve become a firm favourite.

We stopped off in Donaghadee looking for a takeaway coffee. We discovered Bridewell Cafe. The mochas tasted great and the babkas and morning buns were out of this world. The staff were polite and helpful I would like everyone to ignore this as I’ll be annoyed if no pastries left for out next visit. Hadn’t planned on revisiting Donaghadee but I will.

Bridewell is superior to all other coffee shops on the golden coast (Ards peninsula). They make the best coffee and undoubtedly make Haptik look like a joke. Nowhere else on this planet will you get such a delightful cup of white flatness to dive into. The only problem is that when you drink it the coffee begins to disappear. The food is bomb. The kitchen team rock. How do they make the Mexican beans? Rumour has it they have Mexican blood, that's how good they are. Don't even get me started on the Carmelitas... Again, Haptik looks like a joke! And who's "eats"... Phhhft! The baristas (namely the guy with the floresant shirt and moustache) match the coffee. Simply divine. It's a 10 from me. In fact, it's an 11. What. A. Spot. Take my money.

Popped in here on a Sunday lunchtime (one of the few places locally that was open) but was instantly distracted when I realised they were serving brunch/breakfast till 3pm. I ordered the pancakes/hotcakes and they were huge, really fluffy and delicious with bacon, honeycomb butter and maple syrup. The coffee is one of the best I've had as well. The decor etc inside is modern and the staff were really friendly. Definitely hope to be back!

Have been a couple of times for coffee. The staff are always friendly, but today we waited 15 mins for the first coffee and an additional 5 mins for the second. The tray bakes are limited, if you don't like brownies..your screwed and the only offer of fizzy drinks was citrus. Because there's very little soft furnishings,it can feel like sitting in a noisy canteen. I would recommend getting a larger coffee machine, so you can produce more than 1 coffee at a time.

We’ve been twice now. First week the coffee and tray bakes were excellent. Second week we ventured to lunch- the coffee again was excellent, but the lunches a little bit of a let down. My soup had been in a microwave so long that it was still bubbling when delivered to the table. It took 10 minutes to cool down to a temperature that I could eat. I like my food hot, but this was too much. The flavour was also dreadful. It was carrot soup that had so much salt and spice it was inedible. One soup disaster won’t put me off coming back, the coffee as I say is excellent.

Coffee is good, especially flat white. food just ok although peanut butter squares are really good. don’t go near closing time at 4.00! Just pop over the road to their sister coffee shop. It is superbly run by the girls in there, and spotlessly clean.

Lovely small café/restaurant set in a historic building in the town - wide range of more unusual food combinations - good way to try out new flavours. Big range of coffee and teas available - they also from time to time do evening events which are always well attended and very good.

The alternative takes on breakfast available in The Bridewell make it both unique and a 'must do'! The merguez sausages and harissa beans are incredibly tasty, and the savoury hotcakes are a favourite, it can be a real test to decide what to have.

This was our second visit for Sunday brunch; limited but good choice of food. Reasonable prices and full range of coffees and teas. Fairly popular but sharing tables means you can still get a seat. Can be a bit echoey and could do with some fabrics to dampen sound. Will certainly be back....

Love the coffee and food here but was shocked to find a fly crawling over traybakes as they were not covered. On telling this to staff was told they were aware of the occasional fly but it was only in summer that it was a problem . On saying the food should be covered they said they were not sure about best way to do this . I suggested net covers but felt that they were not that concerned.Let's hope they sort it.

Donaghadee is lucky enough to be spoiled for choice in its choice of restaurants. One in particular springs to mind for breakfast, brunch or lunch, The Bridewell. It has minimalist interior which still has a cosy feel to it, and your eye cannot help but be drawn to the coffee machine which resembles the grille of a 1960s american motor car.

I have been to Bridewell a couple of times now. The decor is modern and the staff are really friendly. The menu is always changing which keeps it interesting and they are always introducing new and alternative food ideas to the menu, making bridewell differentiate from other places in Northern Ireland. They also accommodate for food allergies really well- with lots of yummy traybakes- some gluten free, some dairy free and also vegan options available. The supper clubs here are also meant to be exquisite so I can't wait to attend one. The sourdough they produce is so fresh...the only thing Bridewell needs is gluten free bread and their menu would be flawless.

We went to another one of their coffee tastings. What a fab idea it lets you try different types of coffee made by different methods. It really shows how coffee should be made and enjoyed. Everyone involved with it were friendly and helpful explaining what was happening and what to,expect. Keep the tastings coming

This is my favourite coffee shop in Donaghadee. Friendly and sociable place. The service is impeccable. I should know. I go once or twice a week every week and have done so for months. Free Wi-fi – which is rare in this town especially in a coffee shop. I know of only one other doing that. Without fail the service is excellent. Compared to the restaurants in the area the service is a thousand times better. The place is a start-up business run by some young people all doing their best to provide a very good experience. It has a grand dining area with a tall ceiling. It may have been an old bank before. It is bright and airy room which means there is no thick food or drink smells which can make asthmatics and non-asthmatics, alike, choke. The tables are like desks which reminds me of a library reading room. Maybe it should be renamed the “Reading Room Coffee Lounge”. There is ample room to read a broad sheet paper opened out on the large tables! The location and elevation means you can see down on people walking past in the High Street. Always a bonus if you like people spotting. I have only two criticisms: they only serve the one size cup! And the chairs need replaced with sofas and soft chairs. They can be picked up second hand from charity shops. So no excuses there. Throw a rug over the old sofas – job done! A haven of peace in what is a hostile world out there.
