Brickworx Bar & Brasserie in North Lanarkshire

Been a few times now. Unfortunately the food continually just misses the mark. Had the Sunday roast twice, on both occasions the meat was hot, but different elements of the veg were cold i.e mashed potato or roast potatoes. I feel this place focuses on the presentation of the food, the pictures look great, but lacks in the basics of home cooked food i.e the flavour. For example the Macaroni cheese was very herby and dry on top, completely different from what you’d expect a “cosy pub lunch mac & cheese” to be. I find that Brickworx hasn’t found its identity, one minute you’re eating dinner then the music starts and can be really loud. The whole vibe, especially at the weekends seems more suited to a cocktail bar / night life place, focusing on the drinks and only providing nibbles as food rather than trying to do meals. That being said, the staff are always very friendly and accommodating. They will always try and fit you in, even when phoning last minute. They are very accommodating to prams and have always moved tables to ensure we have enough space. I would return for drinks with friends, but will be looking else where as a dinner option.

Came along for a family meal, was very cold outside and inside could have been warmer . Decent menu choices and food was good, well cooked and hot so that helped.

The chefs were not the best very smelly and unclean and also very drunk poss after their shift Aldo quite cheeky do felt uncomfortable

Came for the quiz night, and was served by the lovely John, who gave us cracking suggestions on drinks and food! My husband had the pork loin and it was exceptional! The macaroni was to die for and the long island ice tea was the best I've had in years!!!

Excellent meal and so well presented. Family of 7 and baby in a high chair. Adults all ordered starters and a main. Everyone raved about the food they chose and how it was presented. Staff friendly and helpful and our waiter was so friendly Everyone agreed they would definately be back .Great music and atmosphere too.

Really disappointed in this place as was looking forward to trying it. We have now been three times and everytime it’s just the same poor experience. From cold food to sloppy presentation to serving staff that literally throw your plate down and walk away without as much as any questions around condiments required. Three visits, three times I’ve then had to wait to catch someone’s eye to ask for something while my plate of food is sitting. I just think there’s so much more they could do better . Maybe a little training n food presentation and waiting service would be good and it might help customers return. We won’t be back unfortunately as there are a monopoly of good restaurants nearby charging the same prices who provide the great food and service every customer expects.

Visited for the Sunday Menu and on arrival greeted by friendly staff and didn't wait long for the table. Unfortunately, the table allocated wasn't clean, it was sticky and we had to ask for it to be cleaned which the staff member said was probably from the night before as these tables are usually for drinks, not food? We ordered the Sunday roast of Gammon and Roast beef, the special Yorkshire pudding wrap and fish and chips. There was live music in the background too. The reviews of the food were mixed. It's decent pub grub, I'd certainly visit again but others thought perhaps the food offered is attempting to look a bit fancier than it is as they said the fish and chips were average and had better. The chips served were certainly overdone. The Sunday Roast, is served with six side dishes in little pots, this could easily feed two people! We also had ordered the side of pigs and blankets and stuffing though it was too much for 1 person. We saw on our visit a few unfinished meals due to the portion size and we were glad we didn't have starters and we didn't have room for desserts! The sides of gravy, green veg, roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese were all lovely, the carrots and turnips though were mushy and mashed potato, was bland. You get 4 slices of roast meat and a large Yorkshire pudding (though this was a more soggy than crispy). Overall it was nice enough, the Sunday roast is a lot of eating so go hungry!

I personally think there are 2 chief as you get a beautiful meal then a bad one had a great experience then a bad one so that's not good news mushrooms for starter were beautiful and fresh second time they were frozen and still frozen when they were served to me

I’ve been here previously for drinks and it was fine but went for breakfast with my partner and toddler and the service was dreadful. The manager on shift was incredibly rude, turning people at the door despite there being lots of empty tables, stood at the door for a quite a while for our table, after a while we walked to choose one and was shouted at by said manager, she treated us like such an inconvenience. Did not feel welcome at all so left, we hadn’t ordered yet as it took so long for someone to come over to us. Such a shame as the food looks lovely but I wont be back

Was our first time there ,staff was excellent. The food was great and quick service .also was nice and warm in the place .definitely be back

First time visit to Brickworx as a family of 5 for breakfast. Surroundings and staff were lovely. Place was cold every time someone came in the door. I had to keep my scarf on and wrap my jacket around my granddaughters legs. Coffees were nice. Eggs Benedict served on normal square slices of cheap white bread which were soggy. Should be served with toasted muffin or sourdough toast. The Bao Bun was voted the best out them all but still average. I ordered pancakes with Nutella and strawberries for my granddaughter. What we got was a cheap chocolate yoghurt sauce and strawberry sauce instead of Nutella and fresh strawberries as advertised. Overall nothing special so won’t be back. Maybe it was just an off day. I had a gift voucher given to me for Xmas and gave the £11 that was left on it to a young couple who were also having breakfast.

As a newbie to eating gluten free I’ve been scared to eat out….until I found Brickworx. I have eaten here once per week over the past month and have never had any reactions or flare ups with my gluten intolerance. Pizza, pasta, gf Sunday roast with my own gf gravy and Yorkshire puddings, literally nothing is too much hassle for the chefs here. The staff are so understanding and always check with the chef all options available to me. The food is fresh, good portions and responsibly priced. Great atmosphere, lovely staff who stop to have a chat with you and check in everything is ok with your food etc. The cocktails look amazing but unfortunately I’m always driving! So happy to have found somewhere I can eat without feeling I’m a hassle!

I had the 2 course steak deal, which is on the Fri, I had the garlic prawns in the tomato based sauce on ciabatta, prawns and sauce were delicious, the only down side was the ciabbatta was soggy, not crispy, then I had the fillet steak amazing, sauce was amazing, I had the side of onion rings, lovely, but it was a bit weird having salad at the side, which I would have left out, 😕 wine which was free with the deal, best wine I have ever tasted tbh, great deal thanks, then I asked for my bill, it took them maybe 15 mins to get the card machine, to pay for it, I was worried I missed my taxi outside, as I phoned as I got my bill..I loved the singer Bob fergusson, he was really entertaining, but overall I really enjoyed my night thanks will be back

This place has style and the food though basic is done well. We need more places like this. Tables that are not crammed in , food that is cooked well without stupid pretentious bleep added to impress trendy folk with no taste buds. This is well seasoned, nicely presented food. Will you be blown away by something new.... no. Will you leave full , happy and think the bill is more than fair.... oh yes. I hope to be back soon. Thank you

After a finger walk through google maps noticed the wee place, read the reviews, liked the menu so decided to go for a spot of lunch. We weren’t disappointed. 2 course set menu, 2 drinks, bill of less than £32. What’s not to like? Crispy Brie, salt & chilli chicken keraage, fish & chips and chilli. All delicious with no complaints. And also a free comedy act where they tried to get the fan heating to work 😜 And such a friendly welcome. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon.

An absolute gem of a place in our wee village! Food is amazing, staff are friendly with excellent service. The decor is stunning, and so it’s a comfortable on trend place to go. It’s definitely worth a trip to try out the food and atmosphere. The weekend entertainment is also excellent. Lunch is relaxed and also delicious, so there not a bad time to go!

First visit and certainly will not be my last. My husband got the Sunday Roast WOW and I got the Steak Pie Delish. Staff were welcoming and friendly. See you soon 😊

Great food and excellent staff. My fiancé and I went on a dinner date to Brickworx in early November. The staff were very attentive and were able to make recommendations and advise on deals which were available that night. We both opted for the steak Friday deal, starting with garlic king prawns and tomato and basil bruschetta and steaks for mains. The food was delicious and steaks were cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely meal and great atmosphere.

Food was top quality shared some great food with friends. Staff were super friendly, helpful and attentive. Entertainment was top class a great local night out

We visited last night for the curry night. Oh my goodness! It was delish. Proper fresh cooked currys. It was better than an indian restaurant. The atmosphere was brilliant and the service was perfect. We were welcomed by the manager with a smile and warm welcome. She explained the new curry night menu and made sure we were happy all night. You need to try here for curry night. We will certainly be back especially at that price.

Lunch here for the first time with my daughters. Wasn’t disappointed. Service was excellent and friendly. Food was excellent and tremendous value for money. Would highly recommend.👍💕💕

First visit to the Brickworx Bar& Brasserie since opening a couple of months ago lunch menu fantastic and good value had mozzarella sticks for starter black pudding tower for mains had chicken balmoral and arribiatta with added chicken unfortunately to full for dessert excellent portion sizes friendly staff and compliments to the chef highly recommended and will definitely be back soon
