Reviewing Hope Street Cafe. Friendly welcome from staff seems a popular spot for locals . We are not my husbands family belong Boness. Ordered a Lorne sausage(square sliced if your Scottish on proper breakfast roll my husband had black pudding roll generous two slices. We shared a pot of tea which was very good. Excellent prices. Great service our server even went and picked up sauce and napkins for us which we could have done ourselves. Not often in the area but will come back here.

My friend and I dined here yesterday. I had a baked potato with coronation chicken and my friend had mince and tatties. Both were excellent and well presented. The staff were efficient and friendly. The cafe was very busy and had to turn people away as there were no empty table.available. The only drawback is the noise but otherwise a better experience this time and will return and recommend.

We travel here once a fortnight more if we can & drive for an hour to have food in this fantastic cafe, the food is scrumptious & the staff are brilliant they are friendly & up for a laugh, we took our well behaved jack russell with us & they even made time to speak to our dog. I can’t praise the cafe, the food, & the staff enough. Jimmy Birnie.

Cafe is now called hope street cafe. We didn’t realise how noisy it was until we were seated. Would have seemed rude to have up and left. My tea was a cup of hot water with a tea bag on the saucer. We both had bacon rolls but were not offered any sauce or napkins. Realise that maybe we had to help our selves. Same with the service we sat for a while before being told to order at the counter. Not a great welcome for strangers we thought. We have visited the cafe some years ago and enjoyed it more then.

Unfortunately I’m only able to give this café 1 star when in actual fact it deserved None! I Was a little early for a job in Bo’ness so decided to have an early breakfast! I ordered a full breakfast,. No tea or coffee. Asked the, who I presumed to be the cafes owner if he had Wi-Fi… NO. ah well. Waiting patiently for my breakfast and looking forward to it as I rarely have one. It arrived. Okay, at this point it started to go south! This imbecile was no cook but he did know how to use a deep fat fryer! Absolutely everything apart from the beans and egg had been deep fried. The egg yolk was raw.. you know that slimy way and burnt on the bottom. Inedible. However, the best was yet to come. When I went to pay. £9.50!!!! and WITHOUT A TEA OR COFFEE!! What?? He asked “Did you not see what you got?” Yeh but it wasn’t worth £9.50 I mentioned that the egg was raw and everything tasted of old fat. His exceptional customer skills came to the fore at this point. “Don’t bother to come back” As if I would you fool. All that’s left to say is that this idiots inability to cook a simple breakfast was only preceded by his encyclopaedic moronic attitude. I guess it’s just down to standards and this moron is devoid.

Have been here twice for breakfast, now called Hope Street Cafe. Oh my, what an amazing place I don't even know where to start! The staff are super, very accommodating. We had a full breakfast each, toast and coffee was served first (within minutes) was the most delicious seedy bread and the butter wasn't that horrible frozen cold way. We didn't have long to wait for the full breakfast, no fuss over us changing a few bits we didn't like and on point! The links weren't mealy, the egg was beautifully runny, the bacon nice and thick, black pudding and haggis super flavoursome. The Mr says it was probably the best hash brown he's had. When the waitress seen we had finished our toast, we were furnished with more, no hassle. The atmosphere is great, a classic cafe without the stuck on greasey smell. The coffee is really nice, not too bitter. Honestly this is probably the longest review you could expect from a breakfast, but it seriously is so good!!

Whats not to like about this place, for years they have provided a great service to the local people. The new owners have also kept the same high standard of food and service. Now that the business has opened back up (for takeaway) I will be supporting them through what must have been a tough time for any local small business. Even after all they have went through they remain upbeat and ready to take on the challenge that lies ahead.

We went here a couple of nights ago for our evening meal,I ordered the surf and turf £15.99 from the specials board and my wife decided to have the haggis fritter starter £6.95 with a side portion of chip which I can only assume was £4.91 considering our food total was £27.85. We had our food in the bar area owing to the fact we have a dog. Prior to ordering our food we ordered a pint of lager and a pint half lager half lemonade £8. We were served by friendly staff can’t really complain about the food as it was tasty enough. Have been here previously but might go somewhere different in the future.

Dropped in for lunch with my american pool chum and a catch up. We looked over the menu and both opted for toasties both cheese and onion with coleslaw on the side. We were not disappointed they were loaded with cheese and the coleslaw had a lovely homemade flavour. We had cans of juice to wash down our food perfectly chilled. Overall total satisfaction and would recommend to anyone. Will definetely be back soon. 10/10.

While we waited for a train at Grahamston station, my wife went in search of coffee, She returned a short time later with a mint tea, a coffee and couple of breakfast rolls, they were hot and delicious, obviously just made with fresh ingredients. The cafe proprietor accompanied my wife as she had too much to carry comfortably. What a gem of a find. You won't be disappointed.
