Brew Dog Tap in Aberdeenshire

Wouldn’t recommend at all. The toilets were dirty with no toilet roll or soap. The food was cold especially the fries. The service was terrible we had to take our dirty plates up to the bar. To get additional drinks also we have to attend the bar and walk up to members of staff. The brewdog bars in Aberdeen are far better. This isn’t the first time we’ve had a bad experience as this is the second in a month.

Dont often write a review, so here goes! 2 stars only due to very tasty wings...now onto the negatives...... booked a table for 7 till 9 'unlimited wings!' Service so slow you no one takes your order for half an hour.... you now tuck into your first plate of 10 wings.. .lovely.....what now follows is a 15 minute wait of trying to get a servers attention to order more wings.....second plate of 5 eventually arrives........great, tasty wings......15 minutes follow to get attention of server to be told " oh the kitchen closes at 20:30. In a nutshell think of it as unlimited wings in an hour, or make it even easier £1 a wing. The cheek of being offered desert after being told the kitchen was closed almost left the table speechless.......... we wandered down to ellon to give our custom to another business.

Below average food and non existent customer service. Our first and definitely last visit. Were initially seated at a table with high stools which were not suitable for children in our party. Only alternative seating was a small round table in the library. Not ideal, but made do. No indication of whether it's table service, order at bar, order on app. Eventually figured out the app. Ordered food and it wasn't long before servers started putting trays on our table. Didn't have time to even tell them that we didn't think it was our food and the servers were gone. Had to try and find another staff member to tell them the food on our table wasn't what we ordered. They took over 10 minutes to come and check the food and ask to see our order on the app and to find the food was meant for another table who had been waiting over 1hr. Food came and looked great but was a let down. Burger was dry, burger bun was dry and felt stale. Payed over £60 for 2 mains, a kids meal, a cider and a soft drink. Expected great things from our visit and were left massively disappointed .

Exceeded our expectations - holidaying in the area. Warm welcome from staff - kids with us were not a problem - very chilled vibe. Food was t-a-s-t-y - we all said it was the best meal we’d had in ages! Left having spent a fortune but memories made! Thanks

I’m local, I’ve supported this venue since the start, sometimes with larger groups, sometimes just with family. I’ve always been happy with the quality of the food and overall experience when I’ve visited. Today I can’t say the same. Brunch. Table booked in advance. Place was busy as they were hosting a cycle event, the restaurant area wasn’t at capacity but there seemed to only be one server working in there. Slow taking our order, hot drinks arrived a full 50 mins prior to our food order which was a ridiculously long wait for what was a small and simple order. 2 full breakfasts - the bacon was so hard it couldn’t be eaten with a fork and knife, the rest of the food was warm, not hot. Now more than an hour from placing our order we are asked if we’d like more drinks. 25 minutes later we received them. Staff seem oblivious - really really poor service and food quality really seems to have plummeted.

We had a table booked to celebrate a birthday and when we arrived our server Cat made us feel welcome and took time to wish me Happy Birthday and ask if I'd enjoyed my day. I have to say the enthusiasm and service from Cat was amazing, nothing was too much trouble and her knowledge of the menu was really helpful. The restaurant was busy but Cat kept us informed of waiting times for our food (which wasn't long) There was 6 of us and every meal was fantastic, very tasty. Other member of staff were really helpful too, they were non stop the whole time we were there. Brilliant food and staff were amazing

Visited at lunchtime, friendly welcome , shown to table , we had pre booked as 7 people and 3 dogs. It was quiet but still a pleasure atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. Even got two dogs bowls brought over. Food was very tasty and didn't have to wait to long. Good value for money.It's a great quirky place to visit. Museum and tours where closed on the day we went . Nice to able to buy a carry out of different beers that they do. Play Park outside , around the corner. Only small thing is no door near play park into tap room. Definitely worth a visit.

Went for "wings Wednesday " plentiful & tasty. Managed 15 & 20 wings( apparently the record is 45!!) Kat our server, was friendly, attentive & enthusiastic. Definately be back

Met up with some old friends and was met with very poor customer service. Has unfortunately gone down hill from past experiences.

We arrived in the area a night early for a rare couples night out. Table was booked for 6pm and eventually they got round to taking our order. We explained that we wanted to order starters then mains later once we decided how hungry we were. An hour and 45 minutes later we had long finished our starters and drinks and someone finally came and checked on us. We asked for our bill and left. Place wasn't busy there were empty tables and we didn't have the QR code that some tables had. As a venue that's all about the experience, beer and food they are very lacking on the experience/service side. Starters were okay but starting to get cold. We had our drinks removed from the order but that doesn't make up for the ruined evening.

I regularly eat at brewdog Ellon and have been twice in the last couple of months. Food and drink standards have been consistent but seem to be waiting longer and longer for food and drink to be delivered to table . 75 mins on first occasion (they were busy) and 45 mins on second occasion ( even waited that long for drinks). The waiters are very pleasant and they didn’t seem rushed off their feet but the bar staff and kitchen staff seems to be working with a massive backlog. Bar staff were constantly dealing with people who were walking up to bar to get drinks and as a consequence those who had given order online/ to waiting staff were pushed back to bottom of queue. I live locally and want to support local business but brewdog need refresh their operating model. Not sure I’ll be back

Disappointed with the food, possibly reheated. Unable to pay with cash. Scratch cards with bill for free beers, expire tomorrow & only redeemable with food.

Very disappointing. Last visit I ordered the Korean Bacon sandwich. All meals arrived apart from it and waiter then informed me it wasn't available so order shouldn't have been accepted. They quickly made me a pizza and didn't charge. OK, happy ish. Today checked then ordered it again. It came, was fine, no sign of shredded omelette as described though. Both my parents ordered Anerican breakfast. Lukewarm, Clearly had been sitting. No one came during meal to check how food was. Given kids menu at start. Asked about pizza as not stated. Told it was meant to be double sided but yeah pizza available. Ordered pizza, waitress asked " do you want fries? They come as standard". Bill came. Charged for fries. So not standard, on menu we didn't see. Paid bill and went to leave. Then informed they don't take cash. No signs or statement when booking. Luckily mum had a card. Given a couple of scratch cards and fortune cookies. Kids scratch cards on drive home and it was 2 free beers. Noted valid until 19th June... Decided to go back and redeem them. Waiter "you need to purchase food." We did, you gave us them after we paid! Told sorry, only option is come back tomorrow to eat and redeem..... Just overall, very poor on a special occasion.

I've been to my local Brew Dog quite a few times and love the food. This my first time at Ellon. My son ordered the pizza and the one that turned up looked nice but the base was soft. We spoke to the staff and without hesitation, they said they would get a fresh one and did we want to keep that one; which we didn't. The next one was spot on. Restaurants get things wrong, but how they react is how I judge somewhere. So 10/10 and I loved my loaded chips.

Warm and friendly welcome, said they were busy but really food was not that long arriving . We had a variety of burgers. Good choices for vegans too. Excellent choice of beers.

I love Brewdog for the food, atmosphere and innovative thinking. We took our friends here as they hadn't been before. Table we were shown by girl at door to just wasn't suitable as it was right beside games tables etc so very noisy as it was so busy. When we asked if we could be moved it was a no sorry and an I don't really care attitude and off she walked. When waiter arrived I asked again if we could be moved. Let me go check - back he came and located us a quieter booth - lovely friendly guy who couldn't do enough for us. THIS makes the difference to Brewdog so James & Co please note - staff all need to be at this guys standard!! His attentive care was second to none. We left him a big tip to ensure he knew how much he was appreciated!!

The food was overpriced and rubbish. Who ever put the menu together must have thought Ellon was some hole in the deep south of America. Service was lack lustre and all-round atmosphere in the joint was of: 'rip of place'. Avoid, avoid - even a roadside tea stall would be better.

Really wanted to visit whilst touring the NE of Scotland and don’t regret it. Nice big table for the 6 of us. Staff were very attentive and helped us try out some new gin and find some merch we liked. Beers were as expected great and the food was in good time and fresh. A mix of burgers, pizzas and sharers. Overflow parking was pretty handy and the shuffle board ‘free’ and the photo booth ‘£1’ were a nice touch. Great night.

Four of us ate here on Tuesday to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food was very pub like which is to be expected of a brewery. Quite expensive for what it is but a haven for beer drinkers. Restaurant is on two levels with a games area and a place where you can watch what goes on in the factory. Very young and enthusiastic staff and an an amazing choice of drinks. Not the place for a romantic evening but a visit that you will not forget in a hurry. Not been anywhere else quite like it.

Maybe we were unfortunate but when we went the customer experience was poor and the table service dire. It wasn’t even that full. The chicken is very tasty but the menu has not changed in at least a year and needs a revamp.

Visited on Sunday for brunch having just missed ordering the previous day at another location. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the brunch was amazing. I had the full English and the wife had chicken and waffles. Unfortunately this was one of the rare occasions where remaining sober was the only option however the non alcoholic range done us both fine. Will definietly be back.

Really good service and Experience whilst on holiday. We went as a family of 5 and they had us booked into a high seating table. When they realised the children were young they quickly accommodated us in a booth. You can either order via a waitress, at the bar or on an app. We opted for all three to try them out. The app didn’t have all the beers on tap so I ordered the ones I wanted from the bar. We ordered our mains from the waitress and I forgot to order dips. The app showed them a lot easier than the menu so I ordered these from here. The food arrived promptly, they children had two pizzas and a Mac and cheese, my wife wanted a double side portion of Mac and cheese and I have a chicken burger with an extra beef burger for good measure. The food was amazing and no complaints from anyone. They only thing which needs to be stated is the burger doesn’t come with chips. I ordered a side of chips and sweet Patrao fries from the app which came quickly. We then had a pudding and shared two portions of deep fried orio cookies which were very rich and filling. All in all a fantastic experience and as we are on holiday I have booked to return next week.

Average lunch out. We were sitting outside and forgotten about most of the meal. Drinks came after food and food was only lukewarm. Very nice Irish girl serving us but seemed whole place was short staffed as servers far and few between.

Perfect service and hospitality from start to finish. Food was Epic, drinks even better. I messed up our booking and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us on one of the busiest days! Couldn’t complain about anything and had the best service I can recall of any bar/restaurant I’ve visited in the last year! Huge shout out to Erin, our host!! Excellent lunch at the new Brewdog DogTap in Ellon. The venue itself is stunning - excellent modernist design on a grand scale. The team were brilliant - enthusiastic, friendly and fun. The food too was very good - a large menu . Recommend the jet black stout sauce with the juicy chicken!

I ate late lunch here yesterday about 4pm. It is a very dog-friendly place which was the main reason we came here. The food was delicious. We went for chicken bites with fries. The service was first class. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and they were very good with hygiene measures. The food did take a long time to arrive after placing our order through the app (roughly 30-40 minutes) but the staff kindly gave us a complimentary drink to compensate for the inconvenience which was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this place to others for food, and I will hopefully be back again soon.

My wife and I met up with friends for a 7pm booking. We had previously done the same thing and had a great evening but last night was very different.Once seated, we waited for 20mins before we realised nobody was coming to take a drinks order and went to the bar ourselves. After that, we had to grab a staff member to take our order - literally.We were promptly told that the food would take 45 mins but it was busy so that was understandable.Again, we had to go the bar ourselves before our food arrived - which was excellent. However, our empty plates sat on our table for 30mins before we cleared them ourselves to an adjacent table.We asked for the check at 9.40pm to no avail. In fact, the only time that the staff were prompt and attentive was when we got up and walked out the front door at 10.30pm, at which point the staff came chasing after us so we could pay!! I paid the bill - total spend over £150 - but left no tip. This was not the experience we had previously- and I don’t usually review - but it was very poor service and I wonder how many first time guests will never return

Have had burgers here before which have been ok.Decided to try Hero pizza this time.Big mistake!Lukewarm with a scraping of tomato sauce, approx 2 small sliced mushrooms, around 8 pine nuts and some courgette ribbons and that was it!Certainly not appetising nor worth the £10.50 price!

Wonderful food and a great selection of beers. Dog friendly! Great ambiance for lunch or an evening meal.

Choose to do the tour last minute and it was fantastic! Gary’s sense of humour, knowledge and passion for that company is fantastic to see. We left wanting to work for brew dog! Please never get rid of the Star Wars tune, brilliant!

The food here was just awful and inedible. I wrongly assumed the buttermilk chicken would be chicken breast, no, it was all sorts of inedible gristle deep fried rock hard.£2 extra for a tiny portion of cold fries.Avocado was brown and rotten. No salad.White wine was served warm.Two if us were recommended non-alcoholic beer, it was undrinkable, like coloured fizzy water. Reordered diet cokes, got some imported from Germany coke.Pizza had a burnt taste, seemed to come from the pepperoni.Staff were totally disinterested and we had to pay for everything we didn’t eat of drink.Biggest waste of nearly £100 ever.....Will never visit another Brewdog ever

Ordered brunch burger and absolutely loved it. It was very crowded in the bar but as we had brewery tour in like 45 minutes our order was made a priority and it arrived in less then 20 min.

Went over on a Monday with friends. Immediately had a nice young lady take our drink orders. My wife fancied a sour beer and friends wife rose’ wine. Waitress took over samples. Food took about 30 mins but no problem with that. Burgers and pizza excellent. What more do you want. I have been here when busy but service is always friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. If you want a quick bite and “normal” beers....... go to the new inn.

Late on in our journey north we needed sustenance! We found the Brew Dog tap. We were warmly welcomed by friendly staff and although the kitchens were about to close, they were happy to get us fed. Yummy burgers, Mac n Cheese, Vegie stuff and sides later, washed down with a few beers we were on our way. Great place and now on our itinerary for next years road trip.

Visited this place for the first time and it will be the last. Friendly staff to begin with, placed our order and waited 45 minutes. When it arrived wasn’t hot, so must have been sitting for a while, did mention this to the waitress who said sorry and walked away. Not good customer service at all. Very disappointed.

Nice venue serving all the Brew Dog range - however sadly on the day we went the beer lines were being replaced and work had overrun so no draft beer which is a shame in a brewery tap! Staff very apologetic and provided a range of cans.Food very good, plenty of it and good value.Service pretty slow considering no bar work to be done, and was charged the pint rather than can price though quickly corrected.Would go again but phone to ensure beer is being served!

Great staff, great beer, great food. It got a bit busy later on the Saturday but that’s to be expected. Would def go again.

Something for everyone here. Great atmosphere. Fantastic selection of alcohol to suit all tastes. Good selection of vegan food. Helpful, attentive staff. Warm setting to suit family dining. Well worth a visit. Wish you chose Perth, Australia for your Aussie venture though.

Visited here a few days ago and was disappointed at how unfriendly the staff were. We waited an hour for our food (2 burgers and 2 pizzas) we complained to the staff as the table next to us received their food before us despite us being in and ordering way before them. Staff member seemed unconcerned and said she would check with the kitchen, no apology or explanation offered. When the food did eventually come, it was good, but again staff offered no apology for the very long wait, food just put down in front of us, no friendly comments such as ‘enjoy your meal’ also nobody checked that everything was ok with our food whilst we ate it. Food was good, but the very long wait and rude staff did not make for a good atmosphere, which is disappointing as regularly enjoy going to the Brew Dog bars in Aberdeen and never had any issues there!

Lots of ales to try, knowledgeable, friendly staff and good food. What more could you want. Oh, and dogs are welcome and have their own beer.

Saturday night visit for pizza and a couple of pints. Had to prebook a table to make sure of a seat. Place was very busy and we were told we would have to wait 45 minutes for food.

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to wings Wednesday all day. All you can eat wings was definitely a challenge we were excited to try. We had to wait 40 minutes for our first plate. The lovely waiter who was serving us chased the kitchen up a few times and put our order in for our next plate before we had finished because the service was so slow. After waiting 30 minutes for our second plate (that we didn’t get!!) we got up and walked to the till and asked to pay for our drinks so we could leave. The waiter completely understood our frustration and apologised. He admitted that they were having a bit of a shocker in the kitchen and gave our drinks for free as an apology! Very disappointed which is a shame as to be fair the wings we did get were delicious but it definitely wasn’t all you can eat! Don’t think we’ll be back for another wings Wednesday!!

Food is always good (Wings and burgers a delight) but like our last couple visits this one was frustrating as we came in to a pre-booked table to be told there would be a wait of an hour or more which is not idea with 2 kids. This was a Sunday night. Not overly busy and when the food is burgers and pizza have to wonder why it takes so long since it’s a simple and limited menu.

Not being a great fan of the the Brew Dog product, I was pleasantly surprised by the sampler my son and I tried. Nice snacks, too, but very expensive.

Ate here after our brewery tour, burgers and fries and of course beer :) Loved it and would definitely return again. Love the fact they allow dogs in too!

This pub is part of the Brew Dog Brewery site. A really nice place to visit and sample the beers. Easily accessible by bike (perfect for having a beer or two). The food is excellent and the Brewdog Beers are awesome. The building is nicely furnished and the ambiance very nice. Highly recommended.
