Brechin Golf Club in Angus

The view from the dining room was lovely and the staff were super friendly and welcoming, unfortunately, the food was not great. The lasagne tasted like a poor-quality frozen ready meal and the mac 'n' cheese was not very nice. The chips were good, though. Unfortunately, for several days afterwards I had an upset stomach. Apparently, due to staff shortages, their menu was reduced and maybe they didn't have the qualified staff who usually prepare the food. Maybe we were just unfortunate and did not sample their food at its best.

My friends and I ordered a large portion of chicken goujons and chips for lunch but we were Very disappointed as when it arrived there was a only handful of chips and 2 chicken goujons . I felt like I had been given a childs portion but charged full price . Disappointed 😞

Fantastic venue for our annual Lads golf outing. Stephen in the pro shop couldn't do any more to make us welcome. Staff in the clubhouse were very friendly and attentive. Food was great! Thanks Keith

Lunch deal of two courses for £9.95 what more can one say, we had to try it out!! Great Covid safety measures in place, very friendly staff and great food!! My wife had broccoli soup and breast of chicken in a peppercorn sauce. I had prawn cocktail and chicken curry. Good selection on offer, food piping hot we will be back. Thank you

Lovely lunch here today, excellent food at very reasonable prices, comfortable surroundings, CV19 precautions followed to the letter felt very safe, professional and friendly staff, well worth a visit.

We decided to take a friend and his wife to the Hickory Restaurant for his birthday lunch. As we had been before, we knew that we would get a good meal. We had previously phoned and booked a table, as we were advised to do so. As soon as we entered and gave our name, we were shown to our table overlooking the golf course and the mountains beyond. We were given the menu and were also advised of that day's specials. We were given ample time to make our choices. Our friends were very impressed by the choices for starters, main courses and desserts. Two of us decided on starters - one was a Prawn Cocktail and the other was Carrot & Coriander Soup. For the main course two chose the Chicken Korma curry with rice, and two chose the special, which was Potato Wedges with Bacon, Cheese, with a small side salad and sour cream. All were served on piping hot plates and were delicious. For dessert, two of us decided to have Raspberry Cheesecake with Ice Cream. Very tasty! The meal was finished off with coffees. It's well worth turning off the dual carriageway at the Brechin/Edzell turn-off to visit the Hickory Restaurant. Staff are very helpful and polite, which makes you want to return.

The fish and chips were as good as I have had. The batter is first class. Lovely evening, lovely meal and lovely views.

Great quality, tasty, home-made bar food at very reasonable prices. The service was friendly and efficient and the views over the golf course and Angus hills were beautiful. This restaurant is only 1 minute from the A90 (exit North of Brechin) so ideal for a journey break. It is also on a country lane through the golf course so you can stretch your legs if your on a long journey. Although it is in the Golf Club House, it is open to the public with no extra charges.

My wife loves the generous ham salads, lentil soup is really good, so is the steak pie and the menu has light bites and plenty more. Good choice at the bar, too. Prices are competitive, very reasonable for the food quality. We played golf first - it's not an easy course, but not really too long. Also offers gym facilities to members and has a golf simulator bay and 9-hole footgolf as well.

Played Brechin today in a Texas scramble ! An excellent little track with some nice views of the local countryside. Will definitely be back for another round soon

Lovely surroundings and great staff, food excellent, very clean, excellent parking & disabled friendly, cannot recommend highly enough, great for families.

Friend bout us here for lunch. To be fair I wasn’t sure about it as the website only seems to show half the menu! Was pleasantly surprised when I saw the full menu - not huge bit this not a bad thing as smaller choice of food cooked well is preferable to a lot of choice most of which is precooked or frozen! Curry, served with chips and rice was excellent, fresh vegetables, tasty sauce, well cooked rice and OK chips. Baked potatoes came with plenty of filling and a nice salad on the side. Had never thought about eating at a golf course as they were perceived as members only. More and more clubhouses seem to be welcoming non members for meals - you don’t even have to play golf. Lovely view across the course from the restaurant which is large but not cramped in any way. Can’t promise I’ll ever play golf but will be back there to eat.

A lovely pro shop with a great welcome. We played in a mixed open and were paired with a super couple from Montrose. We hadn't played the course before but soon found it was just what we liked. Great condition and the greens were very good but tricky. Afterwards we had a small meal and drinks and the food was excellent. We would return.

Although the restaurant had been recommended we had a much better meal at the Northern Hotel. The folks at the golf club restaurant could take some cues from the staff at the hotel. Was also charged more for items which were listed on board for a lower price but did not realize until after we left. The food was nothing special.

Food is great and the staff are excellent. Good variety of choices.I'm partial to, well just about anything. I just wish I'd remember to ask them not to put cucumber in my salad stuff. But that is not their fault.

Visiting family in Brechin, we went as a party of 7 for supper at the Golf Club. Quiet restaurant with views over a beautiful golf course. Superb, tasty food at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. I would definitely recommend.

Hickory Restaurant serves great food with views over the golf course and hills. Try a round of Footgolf while you're there.

Me invitó a el Restaurante brechin hickory en el club de golf con un grupo de voluntarios de la juventud donde compañeros de club disfrutamos de una fantástica comida en un entorno encantador. La comida era muy fresca y buena, pero desde luego no estrella michelin - más de un bar de primera categoría en grandes cantidades apoyado por un personal amable y servicial! Vale la pena una visita.

He estado en el club de golf Brechin muchas veces. El restaurante parece estar mejor y mejor. Bajo la nueva chefs Graeme y Lewis, ha alcanzado un nuevo nivel. Yo probé el pollo Highlander que estaba para morirse. En general, excelente comida en un gran ambiente con vistas fabulosas.

As on my door step decided to give a try. Went for lunch and menu was ample with snacks and main meals to choose from. Portion size was plenty with a specials board to choose from as well.

visited the Hickory Restaurant for the 1st time with my husband and a group of friends. had an amazing meal at very reasonable prices. staff were efficient and polite. Chefs did an amazing job. will definitely be visiting again

Fabulous evening in Brechin Golf Club, Jersey Tones out of this world, reasonably priced food an drink, great atmosphere, these tribute nights at Brechin are a must.

Tomamos un almuerzo encantador y un par de cafés en el club de golf, y a juzgar por los otros patrocinadores, no solo los golfistas que utiliza este establecimiento encantador, la comida era de sopa Cullen Gomera, una comida en sí a los crujientes abadejo en una pasta suaves y bonitos.

They serve reasonable lunches but not very exciting cuisine. Fine for golfers who want a quick meal and plain fare!

Tras asistir a una función privada en este lugar un año antes, no dudamos en elegir a celebrar una fiesta de jubilación para uno de nuestros miembros de la familia en 2015 abril. Los más de 70 huéspedes eran atendidos por un buffet. La comida era deliciosa y el personal trabajó muy duro para asegurarse de que la noche fue un éxito. No dudaríamos en elegir este mismo lugar para celebraciones similares en el futuro, y estamos encantados de recomendar a otros.

Always great food served in this establishment, staff are polite and efficient, excellent value for money, great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Occasional musical theme nights are a must Well worth a visit.
