I don't understand why people would opt to come here when The Pantry and Elsecar Park Cafe are both a stone's throw away. Atmosphere is dead, long queues on most occasions and quite a limited variety on offer in terms of food. If you don't like cream tea or sandwiches then you might go hungry

Can honestly say the best jacket potato I have tasted in a while. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the lattes were amazing. Forge coffee from Sheffield, so keeping it local. The staff was polite, and I had the pleasure of meeting the manager/owner who was a nice bloke to talk to. 100% recommended.

Called in for coffee. Ordered 3 different types. (They got the order wrong - twice). Machinery looked impressive. However what was served went like this - from bean, to cup, to one sip, to bin. The product is vile. The worst coffee we’ve ever tasted - if they gave it away for free we’d refuse it. Was it us ? No, others that we’re in the queue with us were doing exactly the same - binning their once sipped coffees. Not a good situation for a business to be in as people just won’t return. The equipment looked very professional but obviously something is wrong - maybe the beans or a scenario of all the gear & no idea. Hate leaving bad reviews but we’ve had better cheap spray dried coffee than what was provided !

Very bad and poor service. I was here for the first time this afternoon, and in their defense I can only say that they were very busy, being a sunny Sunday morning. Very expensive considering the poor quality of service and food/drink they offer. Spent more than £16 for three “latte” and two brownies. The latte was disgusting, basically just milk. There was no price list, which made everything even more annoying and suspicious. Last time.

There is no price list up and payment by cash. I know they have been hit by lockdown but so have the customers who are trying to support them. This is a pleasant cafe with reasonable food. We visited today on the 30th October. I find it very unusual, in this day and age, that they only accept cash. Fortunately, I was carrying enough cash on me - otherwise we would have left and gone elsewhere. It would appear that they do have a credit card machine, but the excuse was that it didn't work, for some vague, unspecified reason. It would be helpful if the cash-only policy was made more clear before you get to the stage where you have to pay. I'm struggling to think of another modern business that operates without card facilities.

Poor old cripple, gasping for a cuppa at quarter to four. "We're shut," came the cry. Sure it said four on the door. What is it with these lazy, bone idle, tea shop people? Has it never crossed their minds that there are cash toting customers out there, who might actually want a drink after that time, particularly as the centre doesn't close until five. Visited here for first (and last) time today. We were the only ones in - Hmm wonder why? Ordered off the menu - scrambled eggs - only to be told "we have no eggs". Really? Surely eggs are a staple of all cafés so to run out at 11am is inexcusable. Have they never heard of nipping to the shop as a stopgap? So we settled for toasted teacake. Now I thought no one could cock up a toasted teacake. How wrong I was. The 2 pieces of "teacake" and I'll call it that for wont of a better word, were like no teacake I have ever had. Both pieces were exactly the same, no top and bottom - both bottoms which were less than 1/2" thick and hard. And it looked like the eggs weren't the only thing they were short of because there were 2 tiny stamp size pieces of rock hard butter which didn't even cover one of the pieces. True, I could have asked for more but if you can't get simple basic things like scrambled eggs or a toasted teacake right first time, Then you don't deserve a second chance. All in all a poor show. Save yourself a journey and don't bother.

During a recent visit to the heritage centre we had a great lunch here after finding that the other tea room at the heritage centre no longer served what we wanted. We have been to brambles before but just for a cuppa and a cake so decided to try lunch. We found it was very good value and very friendly and we were able to get just what we needed. I would suggest an improvement in the cake cabinet wouldn’t go amiss as it would have been nice to see more home made style cakes and less mass produced cakes on offer as a lot of people including me cannot tolerate the additives, colourings etc that are in this type of confectionery and are safer with home made cakes. We will be going gain.

Called into this little cafe to get a coffee to warm up after a cold bike ride down the TPT. Not having any change I asked if they accepted card which the women behind the counter grumpily said they do. I then ordered a coffee to go, which her assistant started to prepare, I then went to pay and the women said you have to spend over a fiver, which she didn’t state earlier. I stated that I only wanted the drink so she told her assistant to stop and no bother finishing the drink. If I wasn’t so cold I would have told her to leave it, but instead my partner scraped the cash together out of the bottom of her cycle bag and I returned to pay, which the women just sighed at.Worst thing of all the coffee was very poor and cost £2.85, gutted as I was going to get one back at Coltonwood McDonalds which would have been better and cheaper.
