Brades Tavern Family Pub with authentic food in Sandwell

Update no sure what's happened here but my family of 4 visited Nov 23 and 3 out of the 4 meals had whopping great black hairs in them totally unacceptable I've notice other reviews also stating hairs in the food with a reply of "all our chefs where hair nets" well clearly their is a hygiene problem so unfortunately after many years and recommendations to friends and family I can no longer recommend this pub and will have to find an alternative very sad !! Top food very clean would recommend update March 22 still the same management and quality good as ever

We went as a family and the whole experience went very well because the staff did a great job.Its changed ownership quite a bit....and at present Jan24..... I think this lot are worthwhile supporting. The service and food were good. It can be a quiet pub.

Hair in food fight with us very bad👎 no eat food

First time here for me. I'm very impressed from the delicious, melt in the mouth, well portioned, reasonably priced food to the friendly, approachable staff with a nice atmosphere in the bar and very clean. We will definitely be back! We have found our new go to Indian (sit in or takeaway!)

Visited here a few times and foods been fine, visited and with my family. Ordered a mix grill, we took a bite of the chicken tikka and it’s was off. Complained to the bar manager who changed the grill but second batch was the same so we left it. he could quiet clearly see the second grill had barely been touched. No offer of a refund. Will not be returning. Shame

Food was delicious and staff was very professional. Must recommend this place for parties and events .

Had a good night out with family food very nice able to cover various requirements service slightly slow but maybe because the amount ordering at the same time will go again 👌

Ordered large mix grill, chips and x2 fish pakora. Brilliant service when I arrived to collect my food. No cutlery was available to eat my takeout on my hour long journey home. Ate when I got home, the chicken was green (dyed green don’t know why). The mix grill went in the bin due to not being nice (meat burnt, overcooked, not much flavours, not very appealing to look at). The fish was edible until I found a hair cooked into the batter (pictures attached) causing my stomach contents to come back up. Safe to say that went into the bin too. £38 wasted. Friendly bar staff though.

Went here on Sunday afternoon fish pakora was amazing and very fresh staff nothing too much trouble for you and very friendly will be returning very soon came again today9 .6.23 fish pakora great as ever leaving you wanting more thanks guys

We have used the Brades for the last few years until new managment took over and run it into the ground so we stopped using it then we saw that it had been taken over again so decided to give it a try 18/10/22 new layout looks great feels lots more spacious. New owner, the gentleman was very welcoming, food was back to being fresh and very good. Fantastic service throughout our meal, nothings to much trouble. Wish you all the best in your new adventure we will start using again now. Update from our visit 4th June 2023 food still the best around. Fantastic service, the staff are just great.

Went there tonight thinking havnt been for a while and wished I hadn’t…..rubbish food rubbish service and as a weekly try somewhere else kinda person this is the last place I would go again……such a shame as it used to be so good

I wrote my first review of the pub around 4 years ago - I have visited it often and can say that despite the change of management, it still retains the taste and ambience that it did back then. Good honest food, served by a team that is passionate about what they do. Rana is an Indian advocate and manages the operations at the front of house - the back of house team has Pradeep on the tandoor and with his other colleagues they turn out some of the best home cooking that I have eaten away from home. They deserve to be fantastically busy as I would rate them 9 out of 10 - simply because there is always room for improvement. Wish them all the best of luck and I will definitely be eating there again and again. Fresh food, full of flavour, cooked with passion and served with love and tenderness - a delightful little gem - tastefully done - neat and clean - great regulars - would I come back? You bet - 😀. Wish them every success 👍definitely worth travelling for -spread awareness and popularity of this place.

Probably one of the best mixed grills I’ve had. Food was top, the fish on the grill was amazing. This place is fairly big with upstairs access for a function room, nice selection of seating outside in the summer. Friendly staff, will definitely be returning. Thank you!

hired the room upstairs for my leaving party. lovely service and food at the time, however when we were due to leave a couple of our guests waited in the doorway for a taxi and the staff shouted f****ing get out. The guests were female and the staff were all men and felt very intimidated, hence only the one star. I dont care how nice the food is, wont be stepping foot in there again, which is a great shame as had a good night up until this point. Tried to call to make a complaint, however the manager passed the phone to his barmaid, who was unable to help.

We hired the function room of this pub/restaurant for our sons 5th birthday. The room was absolutely beautiful, so clean and fresh you can tell the whole place has recently had a refurb. The owner was wonderful, he was so helpful and accommodating even though we asked for loads of things they don't usually do he did them all for us. They let me visit an earlier day so I could set up the room and they rearranged the tables etc for our magician! They even put extra staff on so we had our own barmaid for the bar in our room. The food was delicious and bought out on time and they even made more for us as we ate it all! Id asked to owner to make sure the food was halal for our friends and not only did he make sure that it was ordered in for us a photo was taken of the packaging to show my friends. I highly recommend the function room at The Brades Tavern, absolutely nothing I could fault.

This is a local pub for me that I hadn't been in before, it was worth the five star rating. The food was delicious, the staff are just really nice and very helpful. The decor is nice and has a large beer terrace/garden. Will definitely become my regular now.

New owner in 2023. He's turning this pub into a brilliant Desi destination. Beer is better, food is better. Better than the local rivals. Well worth a visit. The previous owner is out of the picture.

Came with a friend on a Saturday afternoon for a drink and to sample a small Indian Grill. Very easy to get to, a couple of minutes from Jcn 2, M5. Lovely refurbished pub, extremely clean, pristine toilets. Staff friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The Mixed Grills were fresh and tasty, and the Carling Lager good value. Will definitely return to sample the Curries.

Took forever to have food arrive. Ordered just wings and took over an hour. Checked in with them. They told me 5mins and 20mins later still sat here with no wings……

Amazing service and enjoyed food with my family. Cost is also so affordable like to visit to eat non veg.

Very clean and the service and food very good. We had masala chips a must 2 have 👌🏼 Saag paneer (Desi style) chicken tikka. Everything was presented beautifully (forgot 2 take a pic) would defo come again.

Order arrived late with the wrong beer, 2 bags of chips that only had 5 chips each in them and the wraps were the saltiest thing on earth… avoid disappointment go elsewhere!!

Complacency creeping in here, been using it a lot over recent years but tonight was the last time. Cold plates, stale popadoms, drinks are too expensive, service is poor. Insisting on £2.50 for a disputed rice order despite spending in access of £50 on every visit,

It was the worst curry I have ever had won't be going back my friend Curry had off of it missing what would I write this play 1 out of 10¹

Can't review the food because it never arrived. Waited for more than 3 hours... finally they told me the driver delivered it to the wrong address. They told me they will call me back but they never did. When I asked for a refund the guy on the phone told me I should learn to speak proper English. Instead telling me to learn English they should learn how to treat customers! I had to ask for my bank to get the refund. It's a shame I can't give 0stars.

Ordered a boneless mixed grill, really overcooked and dry. Paid £3 for delivery even though I live round the corner. Won’t be ordering again.

Great food at a great price. Only down side was, beyond it being crowded, I was offered a free birthday shot, then told after it had been drunk that it was being added to my bill because I'd chosen an "expensive" one. (Not deliberately - we weren't told about any exclusions, and they waited till we'd drunk it to say). Other than that it was a nice night.

To be honest I was a bit worried when I walked in on a sat night and it was quite empty, but the food was exceptional. The menu is a bit on the large side, but if all the food is as good as what we ate, then that is a good thing!! Nicely done out inside, a choice of Indian Lager, and the beer garden is stunning. We will be back for sure.

Great food reasonably priced and friendly service. Eat in, take out, just eat and uber eats, you can dine via your preferences.

Just had sheek kebabs, chicken madras and keema naan, normally order through just eat but seeing as they've gone jab happy I went in to collect, absolutely beautiful food and the carling was decent as well. To the owner of The Brades come off just eat you don't need them with quality food like that

Second time ive had take out.. Mix grill on the bone,1 plain nan!. £13:50. Ok wings & chops freshly cooked bt rest was dry as yday,thought nann was a jappati.. Not worth the £ for size of portion!!!..

I did a mix grill take away on 27th sep, the next day I woke up vomiting and feeling unwell, went to the doctors and they said I had food poisoning, terrible experience of this place. First time ordering from here aswell

Food is second to non a tad pricey but by all means worth every penny 👌 staff are superb and keep a superb pint been here regularly for 3 years now

The food was extremely tasty and the atmosphere was quite nice. It was very busy at the time but when food arrived it was delicious and hot . The price is a little above average but the taste makes up for it .

Very delicious and sumptuous food. The starter was absolutely amazing mix grill, garlic prawns and chilli paneer were of master chef level. The staff went extra mile to fulfil our special request. I highly recommend Brades Tavern if you like proper Indians food.

I called in advance to check social distancing, and was reassured it was all in place and they did not disappoint. I took my parents (60+) and we were seated at a safe distance. The menus were printed large and hung up on the walls to avoid handling them. The staff were polite and couldn’t do enough for us. The food! The food was delivered to the table quickly and was amazing! We shared the mixed platter to start and really really enjoyed it. They asked if we wanted a moment before our main - we didn’t. The main arrive hot and fresh and was exactly to our taste. I had the chicken chettinad - for spice lovers it’s perfect. We will definitely be going back!

After lockdown it was a pleasure to visit here. So well run, all the safety measures in place. The food was beautiful, the service quick and the prices competitive. Not much imagination in the beer choices but still well kept and well priced. Will definately go back!!

Food is always amazing when we eat from here and the staff are always so friendly. Food is always delicious and well presented. We usually eat in but we decided to try the take out last week. The food came really quick and tasted just as good and hot as if we were sitting in. We enjoyed it so much last week we have decided to order again tonight. Always amazing food, and amazing service.

Food was very nice. Came out quick. Friendly place to take family or friends too. Had a banquet hall on the other side with plenty of parking. They had a function on at the time but I'm sure the hall is just as good as the food and the pub

Excellent food excellent service highly recommend for a sociable evening

Food was hot and really nice. My only complaint was the waitress when delivering the food to the table leaned over people while they were eating to place food on the table to people on the opposite side. She should have walked around the other side and stood next to me. Thought that was very rude. Inside was nice and we'll lit and looked clean.
