B&Q Newton Abbot in Teignbridge

Popped in for a couple of items early evening was quite, found what I needed no queue at the self service till.easy and quick.

Had everything I required, and staff very helpful as usual

Had everything I needed , only draw back was had to self scan

I just needed decking and fence paint. Both were readily available and had no queues at the self-service checkout.

Went there today to buy some fence paint, but I couldn't see what I wanted, a very helpful member of staff called Danny saw I was having trouble and came and helped me, he found the paint I wanted and was very pleasant. Thanks to Danny 👍

The staff here would rather to talk to colleagues while you stuggle to find/ask about products amongst them hogging the isles. This is 3rd seperate time recently I have experienced this. Seems now it is self serve they have little to do but chat to each other?

Is the staff very friendly and helpful at this place? The only problem is the parking due to people driving around the one way system wrong way not money spaces due to the size of shop

Not much stuff available here. Not much in kitchen area. No furniture. No outdoor furniture. Basic trade place with a few extras. Very disappointing. No bedding covers. One fleecy blanket I saw. Shame.

I made the unfortunate mistake of visiting this store today, after not being able to find the size of timber I required, and whilst pondering some capped screws I needed, I noticed a store worker had his Eagle eye on me. I started to feel awkward and quickly chose my screws and changed ailse. But so did your employee. Only now he had company. I was trying to find some new work boots, and I heard him say to a colleague to " watch this one "again. I quickly chose some boots , paid and left. I have never been made to feel so embarrassed and uneasy in a shop before, and I can assure you I will never return. To make assumptions about someone because they are in older clothing due to doing DIY is obsurd and obviously the only reason I can possibly think of.

Nice little shop easy to get in and out of and have most things related to DIY that you could need and you can always get a burger or chips out side from burger van if your hungry as well

A well organised and stocked B&Q

Had a big problem this morning as was meant to have a cistern fitted by HomeServe and due to a mess up with their customer services no system arrived just the plumber and argument ensued which boiled down to if I get the cistern they will fit it. Rang B&Q spoke to a lovely man called Mike who was on the gardening department and he went and checked that I could get the type of cistern I needed and the specific fitment that I needed and he put it aside for me until I could get there and buy it . He then loaded it onto my car so I then rang HomeServe again only to find I've got to wait another day for it to come and be fitted However cannot fault the service from B&Q they were brilliant thank you very much

Just don't like this store - can never find anything - number of plants should have been taken away.

Use this store often, friendly staff.

We will be giving this store a miss as the only person who really tried to help use was the cashier and she was new..staff definitely don't want to know..it's in warehouse and we can't get to it.....

Helpful staff but unable to supply replacement kitchen parts, due to change of kitchen unit ranges.

Usually find most things I need click and collect is good too as you can order the product instead of going all the way there to find you need to travel to another b&q

Only one till open and seven or eight people queuing with lots of Timbers / paints/ etc in their trolleys. That same person has to come from behind the till with her scanner. and rummage around until she finds the barcode. Very poorly organised and bad in house management when they are not aware of the queues

Valspar four coats to get covered will be using trade paint from now on shocking 😲

The staff that are there are very helpful, there is a small amount of choice for electrical switches and sockets. Plants are very well looked after. Good paint selection. Easy to park. There is a small coffee place outside, nice coffee and food. Worth a visit.

Great DIY Store, Purchased Some Outdoor Paint for our wooden Benches & Table & our wooden seats. Purchased a beautiful lemon & Blue that they made up for us expensive but well worth every penny

Went to take paint back Friday morning ,manager said couldn't refund as I didn't have correct card,find it strange that Dunelm only 2hrs did refund and your other store without my proper card.

Apparently saving money and have switched some lights off in the store, had to use my torch on my phone to look at the door section as in darkness.

Well laid out, very tidy and easy to find items. If not, the staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to locate items.

Huge store, many staff about but only one open till, therefore there was a que which was completely unnecessary as the store was not busy at all

Prices were high, staff were a bit pants and we couldn't easily find what we needed. My mate bought out of exasperation because we'd found what we wanted cheaper at a store local to us but ended up driving 9 miles to b and q because their website said prices were lower. she just didn't want to go back to the other place. I don't understand why the staff are so uppity. They work in b and q fgs. (I work in retail myself, we'd never treat our customers like that).

Not as much stock as a few years ago. Click and Collect used this time. I found it a very easy process and will use it again.

It all looked a little tired and a diy store that hardly sells any wall lights? Very strange, won't rush back

Got the lot. Loads of stock of all the bits you need Staff are all approachable and happy. Sadly, when I was there, an old timer was kicking off because they didn't have enough drain pipe holders. (Very sad to see the older generation causing agro again) The lady dealing with the old moaner remained polite and was very professional. The guy got his huge pipe out to his Hyundai i10 to find it wouldn't fit in his tiny car 🤣.. kama. Good old store. Showing signs of age in the door way, could do with a revamp soon.

Great customer service from Vince,initially when we couldn't find a product. Then Andrew L helped, was friendly, chatty and made the all but boring shopping experience pleasant.

Lovely shop with helpful staff, far easier to find things I than some of the larger stores but still stock a good range of what you would need.

I'll give it 5 stars when the carpark is finished and have more than 1 staff to serve....but are very helpful if need.....I order now to collect so much easier.

We wanted a parasol but according to staff who tried on there computers there wasn't one left but my wife tried on our computer at home afterwards we got one rather strange

Car park is awful, not a lot of staff on hand, very dark inside.

Nothing special prices abit high for some things

*Updated May 2022*, all seems back to normal now apart from the entrance aisle that is segregated for customers heading for the tills, hand sanitiser and the click and collect collection point are located as you enter the store, no one was wearing face coverings and car park was busy,. I would say stockholding was excellent when I visited. Service is always good here, don't forget your B&Q card. Visited in late June 2020 when the store had been open about 3 weeks after lockdown, Social distancing controls were very well controlled, I was able to buy my required purchases, even the garden centre was open for browsing, customer numbers were limited which made it a safe and pleasant shopping experience.

Busy.... thankfully more tills were opened as the queue built up.

How do I describe B&Q, they are all laid out the same and have just about everything that the DIY person is likely to need. This branch is no exception, and is very handily situated close to the Tesco main store, making it possible to combine a visit here with the food shop. Leave the wife in Tescos and get along to B&Q but remember to get back in time to be there when she has finished!

Always more stock than the Torquay branch, a good b and q.

Everything is clearly laid out and the prices are good. Cheerful staff and I will go again.
