Took 13 mins to receive the drinks we ordered and we waiting 34 mins just for our starter (soup of the day) never received I canceled my order paid for our drinks and went elsewhere I remembered this place was great and it's really just gone to the dogs and the owner doesn't seem to care. Complained to the staff they just shrugged there shoulders very very disappointed!

We stopped at Boyles while on the hop on bus tour. I reccomend the fish and chips and the steak. We also had a good Guinness.

Great looking Sunday lunch menu plenty of choice. Starter Bang bang chk v tasty with lite salad. We both got steak ribeye for myself and sirloin for hubby. It was nice to have the choice of what cut meats we preferred was pleasant to see.. Both steaks cooked to our liking accompanied with large side and veg. Hard to beat gorgeous.. We got greedy ordered the ferro rocha cheesecake again big portion (ain't complaining) but glad we shared one. Only regret that I didn't take any pics. Value for money here at very reasonable prices. Hats off to the chef

Had Sunday carvery. Very disappointing. Meat dry, food lukewarm and def not to standard of other carveries in area. Cheesecake had synthetic taste. Strange choice of desserts, all very heavy eg fudge cake, brownie, s toffee pudding, apple crumble. This carvery lets down what is normally a nice place for lunch. Def will never have carvery again. Chef seemed to begrudge giving enough veg etc where other places you can have plenty of the veg, gravy etc which after all is the cheaper bit to supply. Maybe he was holding on to it to use at the pensioners cheap dinner the next day!

When visiting friends in Crumlin we visited this wonderful hotel for late lunch. We have been before for Sunday carvery but this time chose the bar. We were a party of 6 including a vegan. As an ex Maitre d' I notice lots of plusses. There were lots of smart young attentive staff who were constantly on the move removing empty glasses etc. The older men supervisors made conversation and got the vegan meal spot on though I don't think it was on the menu! and served in a filo? Basket. I had the seared pork fillet with pickled cabbage and lyonnaise potatoes. My friend had scampi (When I was a waiter 50 year's ago a portion was 8 pieces) he had at least 16 that I counted. My wife loved the roast beef. AND the plates were hot, always a good sign. I would thoroughly recommend this excellent establishment. A very high standard of training, well done.

Delicious food!!!! Compliments to the chef. The staff was super nice. The gravy is to die for and the ribs fell off the bone beautifully.

From start to finish, myself and my parents experience at Boyles was peppered with mistakes. Upon entering our order was taken after a family that had came in after us, both their drinks and food was ordered before our drinks order were even noted. Myself and my parents opted for fish and chips, a meal difficult to mess up. At £12 I was expecting a solid plate of food but what followed was utterly embarassing. While waiting 35 mins for our food, we were then brough fish goujons which had been assured to us by our waitress that it was a whole fish and had been cut up into small pieces. A lousy excuse that insulted everyone’s intelligence at the table. I was given three goujons, which put together did not make a whole fish. We decided not mention the issue and tried the food. Upon first bite it was evident the fish was frozen, bland and tasteless with a mushy/paste like texture. Couple that with hardened chips that had not been cooked enough. Despite the fact there were only two tables ordering food this evening, god knows what the kitchen staff were doing during those 35 mins that they had the audacity to serve undercooked chips. Credit to our waitress, a lovely lady in her later years, seemed oblivious to the poor standard of food- despite the fact she assured us the fish was cut up in to make the goujons. A blatant lie. But out of respect, she dealt with the issue in a polite manner and myself and family were impressed with her service. We were refunded our food and left the restaurant. What seemed most bizarre was the fact that no manager had approached us to apologise. A bar manager with a till key was roaming around the pub but did not once confront us and apologise. Despite the awful food, this left the worst taste in the mouth. Key points to Boyles: - don’t charge high end prices for low quality food, - do not insult your customers intelligence - employ proper management who can deal with issues in an appropriate mannner- don’t leave it to floor staff. Won’t be back.

Called in for lunch today with my old mum, wife and in-laws. Very impressed, 3 courses, including tea or coffee after wards, and all for only £10.00. !! The portions were more than generous too, no cutting the corners there. Chips were hot and crispy, curry was superb, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, so stuffed I couldn't manage a dessert ! Am going to have to go back and try a few other things off the menu. There aren't many places left where you can feed 5 people, and get 6 drinks for a total of 55 quid. (. a couple of the party didn't have the starter or dessert, so 2 courses were less than a tenner,).

So after all the reassurance that you would be ready for us to stay on the 30th May, you definitely weren’t. and not only that, but you failed to inform us of the change of accommodation. If my friend hadn’t popped in to check everything was ok the day before, we would never have known. The hotel we stayed in was 20 minuets away. I had to cancel my appointment for getting my makeup I was getting done, you assured us that you wound get someone to come to the hotel to do my makeup, which didn’t happen. And on top of all of that, there was No mirror in the bedroom to dry my hair or apply my makeup, but no plug in the bathroom go do it there, it was awful. I ended up doing my makeup in the toilet in the bar after we were dropped off in the morning. Very disappointing, for a wedding we’ve been looking forward to for years. Poor show Boyles!!!

Went to Boyle's to finish off the long weekend. Started with an order of two gin and tonics, but it came down wrong so had to get corrected. Ordered bang bang chicken to start, and it was really good. I ordered lasagne based on seeing a generous helping of it going down to the table beside me. When mine came out, it looked like something of the kids menu, so I sent it back, only to have it returned to me with the excuse that it was the last piece of lasagne, and the bill would be adjusted. Meanwhile my wife's chicken stack had also arrived. One thin piece of battered chicken - not sure how that constitutes a stack - that was served cold. It was also returned and replaced with the haddock, which was better but still a little greasy. At this stage my wife was eating on her own as I had finished the kid's portion of lasagne. Staff were very apologetic, particularly Lorraine, and the bill was adjusted, but it's just not good enough Boyles.

The place looks lovely and I was looking forward to somewhere new to eat out.what a disappointment. Had to ask twice for our drinks to come .starter ravioli was passable lacked seasoning bang bang chicken was OK . There edible ended the chicken burger was so dry I couldn't eat it the rib eye steak was supposed to be medium that didn't happen but it didn't matter anyway it was like shoe leather and was left to 57 pound for the worst meal I have ever had

I really wanted to like this place...but the food is bad. Poor quality ingredients poorly cooked. The roast lamb looked suspiciously like the roast beef but it would have been impossible to know as neither tasted of anything. That was the best bit. I didn't chance the strange, green burnt part wedge part roast potato thing, but my husband assured me it was as bad as it looked. The chips were shamefully bad and not fit to be served. It's such a shame as Crumlin could really do with a nice place for a Sunday lunch, but Boyle's isn't it.

Boyles in Crumlin reopened under new management recently and was looking forward to giving it a go. The last time it reopened, it started off well and then slowly declined. We went in for a treat on a Sunday afternoon. The place was too busy, the staff were overworked - only 2 people - 1 manning the bar. There was food on the floor which was probably a good place to leave it as what was on our plates wasn't great and very pricey for what we had! The music was so loud we were deafened. The bar and restaurant are one in the same and the bar was pretty crowded with people who may well have been drinking there for a while so it was noisy and boisterous and not a good place to bring kids (especially as language from drinkers was inappropriate). Maybe it's better during the week but I'm not prepared to give it a chance when there's other, better places to eat. The other bars and restaurants in the surrounding area have 'upped their game' recently so they'll be getting our cash. Oh and I say cash because Boyles can't take cards, so after your mediocre food, you have to run up the street in the cold to get cash out from the bank?? Sorry Boyles, not nearly good enough :(

Went in here as staying by local airport, it looked more like a pub than a restaurant, The waiter staff was very engaging, so we decided to stay and give it a try...so glad we did. Fantastic food, I had a lovely roast pork dinner presented like fine dining! My company had Steak and salad which he loved! Chicken wing started (recommend) and the Cheesecake was devine! Will definitely go back when in Northern Ireland

Popped in on a whim, good food, great waitress on (bar staff are usually pretty good too), clean, decent atmosphere, prices grand for what you get. If this bar had still had a pool room I'd be back more often.

Popped in here on the way to the airport, we were in quite a hurry to catch our plane and just wanted a quick bit of lunch. We told the lady behind the bar that we didnt have much time and the service was fantastic. We both had the fish and chips cooked fresh, lovely home made chips and a beautiful light batter on the cod. Will defiantly return as a frequent flyer for a pre flight lunch or dinner as it is located very close to airport.

Arrived at 1320 on 29 July. Asked whether it was table service or not and I was given a menu and told that my order would be taken by the waitress. I sat down and waited until 1335 but nobody bothered to take my order. The table I sat at was dirty from a previous customer and the table opposite was also dirty with plates left on it while I was there. I gave up and left and went to eat in Antrim town instead. Either this restaurant needs to hire better staff or more staff as it was filthy and nobody could be bothered to take a customer's order.

Really friendly staff and great food. First time visiting and will definitely come again. Had the sausage sandwich, cake and coffee, thought it was good value and tasty. Only slight complaint was the sausages weren’t reheated enough (cold in the centre), but still delicious.

When we first arrived we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who showed us to our table without delay. Having looked at the menu and chosen our meal, as if by magic another member of staff appeared and took our order. The food arrived promptly and we all enjoyed what we had chosen. In summary, the restaurant is a very pleasant place to eat, but I would like a little more custard with the apple pie.
