Walked in, bar half empty on a Sunday afternoon. Waitress at the door said no table For four people for food. Yet bar half empty tables free Won’t try there again!

Cracking place to spend a Saturday with your pals, great food, games, TVs for the sports and pretty quick service… oh and multiple spots for pics with your pals, cheers team!

Take your own TISSUES/HAND WIPES!, The whole "Tab" service is pathetic!. Top up/pay as you go. Forced to settle when you are not even finished! Awful service in the darts area. You have to beg for tissues. Get 4 tissues between 8 people and have to beg for more!. A colleague had to go multiple times to beg!. So did many others. We not bring any customers to this place, it was embarrassing!. Slow drinks service, seems management have chats/discussions with employees after every serving. *Avoid, we went elsewhere for drinks after darts! Avoid for work/corporate events. Place not easy to transact! Take your money elsewhere!

Had our work Xmas party here - was lots of fun. Great venue, massive space to dance and chat. The food was good as well, but they served it right near the dance floor so was very awkward to queue etc. The disco ball is immense

Don't trust the offers. We were in for the Ireland England match in the 6 nations. The game kicked off at 1645 so we had booked a table at 1600 to take advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktails offer advertised on screens and the menu running until 5 pm. However, we were denied this despite it being publicised all over the place. We enjoy the venue but clearly the offers published can't be trusted. We spoke with staff but with no action. Apparently they decide with no notice to customers when to or when to not give offers to customers. Very disappointing behaviour.

I love love how HUGE the screens are. If youre a sports fan I highly recommand.. Its too bad.. this place has great vibes but many times empty. In manchester it was always full. They need to hire PR imo..

Went in to watch the football, the stream had glitched and said "please go back and try again", after asking staff they refused to attempt to try again. We were the only 2 people in there watching the football, and instead of trying again they just switched the stream to a match nobody was there to watch. I've been in this position many times in many pubs where the stream glitches, and no matter how long it takes the stream does reload, whether watching from home or the pub. The refusal to attempt something you know for a fact works, and to miss half the match through this refusal is just something I can't process. An attempt to restart the match would of been okay, but the refusal to even try is what I don't understand.

They weren’t willing to restart the football stream after we were watching it till the halftime, because there was a stream error. It usually gets back on once the stream restarts and the screen said that too but they just refused to do it. We even requested but they just refused. We even got drinks from there which was madly overpriced. Do not recommend. Poor poor customer service, extremely disappointing.

Waited 30 mins for a table which was pre booked. Waited another 60 mins for a drink on table service. Then told we have 15 minutes to finish our drink as the table was booked for next people. Out of 2 hours, we had 15 mins to finish a drink and leave. Rude staff didn’t help the situation. Please avoid this place. I’m still sat here til this day. Some one come and save me. SOS

Disappointed the first 2 draught beer i ordered and none on tap . So had to settle for a 3rd choice and was expensive at £6.40 a pint . But the establishment was very clean . But bar staff spent to much time making cocktails they should have at least i member of staff just to serve beer . And also some of the seating was very cramped . Update visited the box again the first pint i had a glass of blue monkey i had after 2 sips had to ask at the bar to change it for a different beer it tasted off/sour so i changed for a pint of session which seemed fine but once again the quality of the beer was not of normal standard ! . Do they think beer drinkers in Nottingham have all got bad taste buds . What's going off at this lovely pub with it's ales . 🤔

We recently visited The Box in Nottingham with three generations of our family, and we had an absolutely fantastic time! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and service were second to none. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, felt welcome and well cared for. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a family gathering. The food was exceptional, with a great selection that suited all tastes and dietary needs. We truly felt valued as guests, and the attention to detail made our experience even more memorable. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a place to enjoy great food and impeccable service, I couldn’t recommend The Box more highly! A perfect family outing!

A steady 3 stars as we had no food, the bar service was quick as it wasn't busy and the atmosphere was drowned out of the place by the incredible noise of the footy match they had showing over the 30 odd tvs... Beautiful building though. Top marks on the way it looks.

We hired the Karaoke room. So much fun. Definitely recommend, reasonable price and great for a social night out. Definitely recommend

Visited the box this afternoon,with my 6 year old grandson, to watch a match. Even though they were pretty busy with most tables reserved the helpful staff found us a table we could use. They even sorted us a slot to have a go at shuffleboard. Every member of staff was cheerful and friendly. To have a sports bar in the city centre with that atmosphere which felt safe for all is a massive plus. Ok it was an afternoon and I'm sure it will have a different vibe when the boxing is on but I'll be going again.

Cock...tails were amazing. Elliot serving, ordered 3 espresso martinis. Told us it's 2 for 1. Ended up getting 6. Great service, double handing the shakers, some flair skills, accurate pouring. All a man could ask for.

Lovely food, service and environment

Had a work Christmas day here. I enjoyed my pizza and chips some staff had problems with the lamp kebab was being cold and this happened to a few that had to have them warmed up. Had plenty of drinks vouchers. It got louder as the night went on and some loud idiots (men) came in but that can happen anywhere

Great food. The place was fantastic until they put the football on at an ear splitting volume (after we'd ordered). I can understand people are there to watch sports but it was on unnecessarily loud and my partner and I couldn't talk to each other normally afterwards.

Blond Barman completely ignored people waiting at the bar to serve people who only just turned up. Very poor service, and very ignorant

There are a lot of large screens for watching football (unfortunately without sound) but you can watch several games at the same time, eat ok, two karaoke rooms on the upper floor are very fun,

I would like to say that I have had a fantastic experience here courtesy of the manager and staff working at the BOX Nottingham. I had a situation where they kindly helped me out with a gift card, and I can only speak the praise of Anna who put things right. I will be coming back here again.

Update. Just waited 15 min in a half empty venue for a drink as bar staff ignored us constantly. Poor

Nicely turned out modern bar. Excellent selection of sports shown continually. Live band 3 nights a week. Serving mainly top end Lagers on tap at top end prices.

Used a karaoke room and darts for a hen. There was also a live band on in the main bar and dance floor area

We recently used BOX to host a team event and it was great. The staff were attentive, we had use of the private rooms upstairs but were still able to play the games downstairs. We all really enjoyed it.

Decent place to watch a bit of footy with a pint. Can get a bit crowded at times (whether that's good or bad depends on your perspective) and there was a long wait for food and drinks but maybe that was just because it was saturday evening. Been here twice and loved the selection of beers that they had both times.

£13.10 for a double vodka, are we in London??? Absolute rip off, don’t waste your money. Bouncers always pleasant though

We have been trying to organise a friends surprise birthday evening with Box for the past few weeks. After a week of no reply we have suddenly been told that the time slot we were arranging to hire out has been given up. Yes, we hadn’t paid a deposit yet but we were waiting for some questions to be answered first. Extremely unprofessional communication and left us with not much time to organise anything else.

Great atmosphere and really friendly staff

If you want to watch any sport other than football, just straight up find somewhere else. You will have your feed changed when any PL game comes on, regardless of the amount of people watching it with you. A little bit of table reservation management would probably fix this, just put groups into an area to watch together? We had 5-6 full tables wanting to watch F1 - not exactly a fringe sport - and all of them stated in their reservations what they came to watch. It gets really exhausting asking staff to change certain screens back. Not exactly an isolated incident either, after 4 different visits with 4 different sports, football will always win. Just gonna find somewhere else. Food and drink is great, but that will always be secondary to the actual reason we want to be there. Shame because we'd genuinely thought we'd all found somewhere we could hang out.

The last few times we've booked to watch a particular sport event, Box are unable to actually show it, or turn it off midway. Booked a table for 8 people to watch the F1, website said it was being shown, and we stated in the booking that we were coming to watch the F1. There were numerous other groups also booked to watch it. A few minutes after it started the staff told us all screens would be turned to the football. Eventually after multiple people complained, they kept on two screens without sound. I really don't know why they bother to take sports bookings that they can't keep, no one is booking to come and watch part of a race/game! The venue is big enough that it seems so easy to group sports bookings together rather than only showing one thing.

Showed up at 4:45pm. Took us until 5pm to receive service and the bar refused to offer two-for 1 cocktails. The server literally put her hands up in the air and shrugged at us when I complained before serving someone else. Never going here again and will advise all our friends as much.

Stumbled across this yesterday when walking to a different pub and by god it caught our eye. Clean, tidy, sharp and certainly eye catching. Even though we didn't watch a sporting event there's a tv at every angle with a jumbotron style tv in the middle what looked brilliant. We didn't eat but there was a wide choice of beer on offer and a great atmosphere. Also for a change the staff looked like they liked there job. Can't wait to go back

Went for the bottomless lunch with some girlfriends. Really friendly staff that tried their best to host our bottomless drinks, whilst also busy with other customers. Couldn’t do enough for us but because it was so busy (fair enough Saturday pm) , sometimes had to wait for our glasses to be topped up. I didn’t quite get why they didn’t just leave a full bottle on the table every so often, as we were a group of 7. However, the bottomless drinks were amazing. Everyone gets fizz as standard and then you can choose a cocktail on top of that. We were trollied by the end of it. Food was ok, tasty and decent portions. The salt and pepper chips were lovely! The atmosphere was great and the place itself, including the loos were very clean. Definitely recommend and we will be back. Great value for money.

Always a great experience at the box, Jamie and the team are so accommodating and always ready to go the extra mile even when it’s busy. Darts is great fun and always good for a group. So nice to have something like this on the Nottingham scene.

Having been to other Box venues across the uk I assumed this would be on the same level. JAMIE the manager was so unhelpful, sarcy and hardwork. Came with a group of 25 and spent over £800. He was just hardwork from the word go. Considering we were paying customers on a Monday afternoon he just had a chip on his shoulder. I am astonished to discover he is the manager has zero people skills. Avoid especially if hes working. This also shows the discrimination of the company as they don't even have the decency to reply to any of our comments yet every single comment has had a response.

After being to many of the box venues across the country, I found this venue at Nottingham below par with everything mainly customer service. I found Jamie the manager attitude towards my party of 19 people extremely rude, unprofessional, unequipped and lacked basic customer care, considering we spent £800 on a quiet Monday afternoon any person with some sort of business sense would see this a good bit of of revenue for that day. Jamie however chose not to look at it like that but rather a inconvenience and made us feel as if we're being awkward and needy which was quite the opposite we understood it was a large party we understood there would be a wait, but tell us that you will get served when you do, and serving others before us, after we had been in there for over hour at this point is just wrong and when we asked why we were met with Jamie's answer of you will be "served when we're ready" and your more than welcome to go elsewhere" Considering this was a celebration and we had alot of family together after such a long time and based on recent riot events which has heightened a level of discrimination across the country I feel Jamie made us feel unwelcome with the same prejudice and discrimination we had experienced over recent weeks and that is very sad, On a final note I hope that you read this review and implement some changes mainly how you handle larger groups a little common courtesy goes massive way also some basic training in how to handle situations would be very hand for you guys

Disappointing Experience During a Special Celebration I recently attended a friend's wedding celebration, and I am utterly disheartened to report that our experience was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was shockingly poor, which completely overshadowed our special occasion. To begin with, the attitude of the management, particularly the male manager on duty, was dismissive and unaccommodating. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also gave us the distinct impression of being discriminatory. It seemed as though he had a preference for serving other guests over our group, which not only felt unfair but also tainted our experience with a sense of being unwelcome. Moreover, the restrictions placed on our orders were baffling. We were a sizable group and decided to indulge in some cocktails to celebrate the occasion. However, we were informed in no uncertain terms that we could only choose from a specific selection of cocktails due to the size of our group. Any deviation from this limited menu would result in an extended wait time, beyond the already lengthy delay we were experiencing. This was incredibly frustrating and felt unnecessarily restrictive, especially considering the amount we were spending. To put it into perspective, our group spent around £800, which one would assume might warrant a more flexible and accommodating service. The overall experience was marred by the lackluster service and the unwelcoming attitude of the staff, particularly the management. It was a disappointing experience, to say the least, and it unfortunately became a talking point of the day for all the wrong reasons. I regret to say that I cannot recommend based on this experience, and I would urge potential patrons to consider other venues where the service matches the significance.

Avoid this place, certainly when Jamie the manager is working! Right from the beginning he was very unwelcoming, unprofessional, sarcastic and cant do attitude. Although we were a group of 20+ he was emailed in advance with notice so has no excuse. Also there was not a customer in sight when we arrived so he should have been welcoming us with open arms to spend best part of £800. What was meant to be a live and kicking atmosphere was ruined and definitely would not return here. As for Jamie, I wouldn't even have him manage my sky box subscription let alone the BOX. I think its worth booking a slot into the private room for some training on that 85” TV. Make sure you pre book though!

Sarcastic, rude, arrogant manager JAMIE. As a big group of friends in Nottingham for the first time as well THE BOX celebrating an auspicious occasion, Never have we ever have I ever been made to feel so degraded and belittled. JAMIE from the outset was extremely dismissive and unwelcoming. We had pre arranged with another member of staff the private karoke room due to the party size being 20+. On arrival it was made clear JAMIE really wasnt in the mood to accomodate us judging from his sarcy tone and huffing/puffing every 5 seconds. Our friends had been waiting in the queue for a while whilst he look passed and served everyone else before us. When confronted, he said “you’ll get serves when you get served” couldnt have been more unprofessional if he tried. Considering we spent £800 it had ruined our celebration and we certainly wont be returning.

Went to celebrate my friends wedding and the service from start to finish was horrendous. The male manager I would say was racist. Seem to prefer to serve others before us. Told us we could only have specific cocktails due to the size of our group and told if we are to order anything different we would be waiting a lot longer than we already was. Really bad service considering we spent £800.

My second visit to this amazing place was not disappointing. They seem to have placed the customer at the heart of their thinking in just about every angle. The live music was well chosen with a very talented band who played the audience like a fiddle probing for what would work and then going for it. When things go right without a hitch then it speaks volumes about the chain of command. Everything from the drinks range the decor and ambience and super cleanliness of the rest rooms is something to be proud of and celebrate. The staff were engaging and enthusiastic and left little to chance and that does not happen by accident If there was one word of warning it would be this; the higher the standard you set then the higher standard you have to maintain and that is where you have to leave no room for complacency. As a retired hotel manager I know acutely this dynamic. For now well done.

Easy to pre-order food online before you go. Good service as they know who ordered what, so it makes it easier. The chicken starter/side was really nice, as was the vegetarian goats cheese pizza. The lamb in the lamb & chicken kebab was very dry. Not a venue I chose to go to, and I didn't think it was suitable for a family meal with children...but if you're looking for a sports bar that serves food, then this would be ideal.

Not had food yet but the negative review are silly. This bar is a great addition to the drink scene and even for a coffee, have loads of drinks on offer if your drink of choice isn’t here then try not to dislike the venue. The bar is not bad. It’s a good bar in overall.

Superb bar, we went on a Thursday night and there was Bandaoke - Karaoke with a band! Very entertaining. The beer was cold, the staff were super-friendly.

I had a disappointing experience at Box Nottingham on Friday night. My friends and I ordered drinks and stepped outside for a smoke. When we looked back, the door was closed, and no one informed us to take our drinks or warned us about the closure. We weren't allowed to take our drinks outside, resulting in a significant waste of money since they were almost full. It's frustrating that there’s no way to contact management online to address this issue. A little communication from the staff would have made a big difference.

I can't comment on food as I didn't have any. I went to a karaoke party and it was very good. The facilities and bathrooms are really good.

Really cute place we found on a whim! Cocktails were fantastic, Pina Colada is to die for, really yummy and had an offer of 241, so even better. Staff were lovely. Never thought a sports bar would be such a vibe but they have plenty to offer more than that such as games, live music, dancing on benches and even a photo booth upstairs. And one of the coolest and cleanest toilets I’ve ever been to 😅☺️

Box is a fantastic addition to Nottingham's bar scene! It's a huge but welcoming venue with loads of seating areas and large TV's, ideal for watching football and various other sports with your mates. The food is excellent, especially when taking advantage of the £8 lunch menu but if you're really hungry then it's definitely worth trying The Guv'nor burger! There is a fair range of draught beers including alcohol free options with some interesting and locally brewed craft ales. There's also spirits aplenty with some excellent whisky's. The staff are very friendly and work incredibly hard to ensure everything runs smoothly. Josh is particularly knowledgeable about the range of drinks available, and is happy to spend time talking you through everything and making some great recommendations! Josh is passionate about his job, enjoys interacting with customers and is incredibly friendly 👍
