The food is amazing, especially their lamb chops... No idea what's in the coating they put on them, but damn they are good. Most dishes seem to come up a little spicier than expected, such as the Korma, which actually makes for a nice change. Thoroughly recommended 👍

Don’t let the exterior fool you! Good food (East African and Indian) and understated interior and exterior. Gluten free seekh kebab is a must for the fella. Chilli garlic mushrooms (spicy) and in a thick tasty gravy/curry. Goes well with rice and/or naan. Batata vada good size and spicy potato stuffing. Potato bajjia was ok. Dal makhani wasn’t too bad. Could be a bit creamier and cooked a bit longer in the spices for the flavours to blend into the daal. Garlic mogo does not disappoint. Great and friendly service!

First (and last) time we order from this restaurant. We made an order on 25/06/2022 at 22:20. It was disappointing the food we receive as it was, first very expensive for the quality of the food (I would say it was overprice), second, we ordered butter chicken but what we received wasn’t butter chicken as it was spicy and it wasn’t like any other we have eat from other Indian restaurants (it was worse). What I am guessing is because we made the order near to closing time they didn’t have enough butter chicken sauce and they mixed it with other left over sauce on purpose to make 2 portions. Third the poppadum it was one piece when on other Indian restaurants giving you two pieces. Again I don’t know if it was because we made the order late and they didn’t have enough or because they are giving only one piece. What I know it’s the first time we are seeing something like this. Finally my recommendation it’s negative and we won’t order again.

Had a terrible experience a few days back when I ordered food for a Diwali get together on the 5th. We ordered an Egg Biryani, Veg Kofta curry and Egg curry along with Naan. We had to throw the entire meal away apart from the Naans as it was no fit for consumption. We had to re-order food for our guests as the currries were under cooked to the point where you can taste the raw masala in gravy, almost like it was uncooked. The kofta tasted like a medicine, and the egg biryani too had raw masala in it, like the rice were simple tossed with masala and packed. I normally never write reviews like these, but I was shocked as the restaurant is well reviewed, but it seemed like someone who has never cooked before had prepared that meal, which was impossible to eat. Both the curries and the side dish given with Biryani tasted the same!! Since complaining to Uber eats never does anything, and it really did ruin our night, and no action was really taken, I had to share it here. Not sure if the restaurant had a bad night, or it was our luck, but quite possible the worst meal I have ever ordered.

We were a party of about twelve people from my partner's sports club, and went to this restaurant to celebrate the end of the season. It's a fairly busy road, but in the evening street parking is quite easy. The ambience is relaxed and friendly, and we had a cosy corner of the restaurant reserved for us. The menu is quite large, with all the popular Indian dishes as well as a few more unusual ones, for example the Gujarati starter dish patra which you never see in restaurants but then this is a Gujarati family business. We ordered a variety of veg and non veg starters and main dishes which were all well received. I didn't have any of the meat dishes as I was sitting with the vegetarians of the group, but everything I tried was excellent. All freshly prepared and not drowning in oil (as can be the case in Indian restaurants), and beautifully spiced. Portions were larger than expected, and we probably over ordered, so beware. The staff were cheerful and courteous, and were observing Covid precautions. Prices were typical for London.

Really poor quality food, and over priced too. The meat samosas were tiny filo-pastry things that you would expect to find in the frozen section of a cheap supermarket. Hardly any meat in them, and a bitter, burnt taste. The naan was thin, the paratha had no ghee in it at all - it was as dry as a bone. All meat was poor quality and over cooked. Onion bhaji was mush. The aloo gobi was poisoned with tomato and swimming in vegetable oil. There was no evidence of authentic Indian cooking, and the level of food was similar to that of supermarket ready meals. And that means ASDA, not even Waitrose. We bought the food based on the great reviews. Some people must have extremely low expectations, or very poor taste. A really disappointing meal, that was not worth half the price we paid for it. Update following response from the owner: Your response shows that you are unable and/or unwilling to comprehend a review, or to understand the true value of customer feedback. In your responses to customers' negative feedback, you never address your own shortcomings, or accept any blame. Instead, you blame the customer, or accuse them of reviewing the wrong place. It is laughable arrogance that you should attempt to pass off processed, frozen food as fresh, and then criticise any customer who complains about it! In fact, if anyone takes the time to look through your responses here, they will be able to see, quite quickly, that your customer service skills are at the same level as your cooking skills.

You walk in, and its got a pub like atmosphere and seating. It's uncomfortable as hell. You may as well sit on the floor because they give you old stools across booth like seating. It's tight, cramped and poorly laid out. You have to pay for popadoms (many locals around the area you don't have to) and they're stingey on the sauce. Food is average, lots of garlic and sometimes overly spicy. If I was you, I'd take your money elsewhere.

On Sunday 26th July I was watching the final Premier League games of the season with friends. We were planning on a meal later in the day but fancied a snack to bridge the gap. The consensus was to go for a selection of Indian hors d'oeuvres. Authentic Indian food in North London is rare; most vendors offer 'balti' which is Bangladeshi cuisine adapted for the English palate. There isn't really a Punjabi restaurant but there are a couple of 'East African Indian' kitchens here and there and their menus do offer some Punjabi dishes (some of the chefs are Punjabi). Having been to Boulevard when it was known as the Boulevard Club (before it looks like what it does now) I felt it would be a safe bet. We ordered, via the Uber Eats app: Onion Bhaji; Patra; Gota and Samosa. On ordering I did think the prices were a bit on the high side but we were having it delivered so accepted it in the hope that if the food was good, it would be money well spent. Nobody ever regrets buying quality. The Gota, (Gujarati) spicy deep fried fritters made from gram flour and fenugreek leaves, were decent. A good sized portion (five in total) which looked and tasted good. I would be happy to pay the price again given the choice. Samosa (one portion consisting of four deep-fried spicy potato and vegetable parcels wrapped in pastry) looked ok but i didn't think it was particularly good value for money. They were small in size which are consistent with the ones you get from the Indian supermarket and keep in the freezer for when someone unexpected pops in. Real samosas are much bigger (up to three times the size of one of these little tributes) and usually give a much more authentic taste of India. These were clearly the ready made ones and all four combined would still be no match for a proper made in-house one. Not good value for money and didn't really taste like a samosa. They were cooked well but I definitely would not buy them again if given the option. Onion Bhaji. Should be golden brown and a bit crispy. Five pounds will get you a weight (they are usually sold in grams or kilos) and you a fiver's worth (in Southall for example) would feed four or five people a tasty snack. This portion there were FOUR black blobs of goo. When I broke - or separated - one to see what the inside looked like and it was a stodge of uncooked besan (batter mix) and raw onion. Having cooked pakora (a variant of bhaji) at home many times, I cannot understand how you can achieve such a charred appearance whilst the inside remains uncooked. Issues with the batter mix and temperature of the oil would be my guess for starters. A simple dish cooked in nearly every Indian and Pakistani household around the world and Boulevard managed to get this about as wrong as wrong could be.Patra (or Pateer in Punjabi cooking). Colocasia leaf coated in spicy besan, rolled and cut into slices before being deep-fried. It's quite an easy dish to cook after the preparation is done; looks great too: the green leaf is a nice contrast to the golden/brown filling in the middle. Boulevard's offering was black. All black. Not just a bit black around the edges (a hint of char can be okay sometimes) but entirely burned black. There was not another colour in sight. This portion of patra was two or three shades of black. Again, if they'd manage to avoid this detail I wouldn't mind paying £5.75 for this delicacy, but it has almost left me scarred and scared to ever order again. A complete culinary disaster. Sauces. The usual format of chili and raita sauces usually accompany each dish so. Technically two sauces for each dish; in theory we should have been given EIGHT pots (four of each). Had they have given us two large pots of each: fine. It would have sufficed. What we got was THREE pots; two chili and one raita but bizarrely not one of them were full. In fact, all three were below the halfway point. A let down compounded by the disappointment that we were now looking at what was meant to be a tasty treat but had turned out to be an anticlimax. A call to the restaurant was due...My call was answered by somebody who identified himself as the duty manager, 'Nick'. Giving them the benefit of doubt insofar as we all make mistakes and this was the first order of the day for them (or even that someone somewhere somehow was playing a prank on me) I calmly expressed my disappointment. I asked Nick for a mobile number so that I could WhatsApp him images of the food (some of these images are published with this review). He received them and his immediate reaction was to state that he would be 'taking this further'. He did try and smooth things over by saying that the delivery driver 'just takes what the kitchen put in the bag' and it would never have happened in the restaurant. He then went to offer to look after me - us - the next time we ordered. I told him that based on this experience, there would not be a 'next time', ever. He understood and then went to offer 'anything off the menu on the house'. By now we were reticent about what might come but in any case, nobody was in the mood to eat anything by now. Nick asked what I would like to do. Frankly speaking, by now I was quite perplexed by his inability to rescue this from falling deeper into a hole. I suggested that on the basis that half the order was inedible (and subsequently put into the bin) I would accept half my money back. He said he would need to speak to 'the guvnor' when he comes in, again, a bizarre process in the circumstances. Eventually - the next day in fact - Nick came back and offered a *part* refund. Part by deduction of the Uber Eats commission they pay and the delivery fee to the driver. What was left was halved and offered to me as a refund. I honestly felt like laughing but as if that wasn't enough of an insult, he added, "the next time you're passing, pop in an collect it.". Wow. Just wow.We exchanged a few more words and on Boulevard were not prepared to do anything else to win my trust, falling way short of the minimum requirement to be classed as a 'reasonable offer'. My stance by now was to tell them to keep it. Now it had become a matter of how flippant they were about the matter so I decided to publish the experience, starting with their Facebook page. I wrote a shorter, condensed version of this review and Boulevard replied with 'Well, well, well. We don't usually reply to reviews but we had to with this false one". I then added the images and screenshots of the receipt and part of the conversation transcript with Nick. Boulevard quickly removed their comment. I'm happy to write good reviews about good experiences but this has turned into, by far, one of the most bizarre experiences I have ever had. Suffice to say, Boulevard will never see a penny from me, ever. A bizarre way to react to burning someone's meal. Yes, I was disappointed and of course quite embarrassed in front of my friends. We made a joke about it and after realising that we couldn't eat half of our order

Didn't taste like a freshly made food, the chicken was dry and the flavour was quite honestly bland, such a shame as this place used to be considered good.

This Restaurant used to be fabulous. Now the food is less than average. Overcooked, dry lamb. Burnt bhaji so too hard to eat. Won’t go there again.
