Always enjoy, a meal in Mayhek, all the staff are amazing. Food always good, chops were a bit dry this time, hence only 4 stars. Never had a bad meal, here. Paul

First and last time to this place chicken boona was disgusting it had a rancid after taste like it was reheated rice was the same it arrived luke warm and was not fresh tasting awful food and my friends Vindaloo was no better after a long wait the food was arwful and the waiter saying Shapla gets cheap meat was so unprofessional and classless and tacky he had no shame! Sorry but there are much better curry places to eat at and sadly this is not one

Got scammed by this lot on the 7th July 2024 agreed to cancel on the telephone yet I still got billed on Just Eat website

They say they are open from 5, but they aren't. I spent 2 hours walking down here, to face a shut door. Well done. Update from a few months later: I'm here again, it's 5:10 and they are closed. A note to the owner: if you don't open at 5pm, don't say you do. It's obvious, and simple isn't it?

Would not recommend!!! Absolutely terrible service 👎 accepted my order only to cancel an hour later. Never ordering here again.

Such a worst experience,chicken is not cooked well.they used rotten tomatoes in the curry and I got lamb instead of chicken when I ordered other curry.When I had it resulted in diarrhoea.Too expensive as well.not at all worth for money ..poor hygiene methods in cooking results in stomach upset..not at all fresh food..not at all recommended..such a bad experience..will not recommend to anyone.First of all,this is not an Indian restaurant,it is a Bangladeshi restaurant..they are just making money with the name of Indian ...most of the dishes are not proper ones...terrible experience..

We were visiting from Cambridgeshire We ordered a take away based on meals family had eaten before all I can say is we won’t do that again the food was really disappointing, my husband ordered king prawn korma it was like a soup and the prawns were not king , my biryani was quite bland and not very hot (temperature) and the rest of the meal was not great , was such a shame my elderly aunt had eaten there many times and said food always was good but at least now we know a won’t repeat that experience again

Bustling with humans noshing, aromas aromaring and meat sizzling, we wondered if we’d get a table. There was still a table for a teddy bear and his crazy human mummy! Warm ambient lighting with colourful mosaic lightshades, try to bring peace to the loudness of the busy restaurant. Service was reasonably fast despite the business. Mummy was happy to have a large napkin that properly covered her lap. A portion of silky Paneer Malai Kofta, lightly spiced Mushroom Fried Rice and a soft Peshwari Naam was shared with Mummy Debra. I would have preferred to have taken our time but it was a little loud for Mummy Debra’s sensitive hearing. We loved that the empty plate arrived nicely heated. However, we were not so impressed by the plastic perforated plate that the naan arrived on. Not only was it plastic but it was a touch grubby on the edges. Thankfully not where the naan touched. The vanity unit in the lavatory was very wet but I guess they cannot check it after every visit by a customer. There is a step up to the door way and no ramp.

These guys are the best Indian my wife and I have been to. Best Indian food around,efficient and fairly priced. They had misread our order this evening however they where back to us within 20 minutes , let us keep what they had mistakenly given us and couldn't of been more apologetic. Customer service second to none. We have found our new Indian, thanks guys.

Been ordering from here for years now, at least 10 orders per year we make with these guys as we love small businesses and the curry there is truly excellent. I have to say after every order we make the portions seem to get smaller_ spent £40 tonight and only got 2 poppadoms. Really disappointed as we usually get minimum 2 each. It’s regretful to say but we may start using Shapla down the road. I give them that the curry is decorous and I have no fault in the food but portion wise we do not get value for money. Buyers be warn, this is an honest review xx

We usually get takeaway but decided to dine in on a Sunday evening to take advantage of their A la carte menu. For £11.95 per person it was a wonderful experience and we got a huge choice of delicious dishess. The service was impeccable and very friendly. I will definitely be back with my family to eat in and recommend to all my friends. Thank you Mayhek team, you are doing a wonderful job 💜

Tried nearly every Indian takeaway in Barnet and Mayhek is by far the best! Consistently delicious every time with huge portions which are excellent value for money. We always collect but the staff are so friendly whenever we go in. We have moved from the area recently but came back to visit family this weekend and asked if we could get Mayhek and it didn't disappoint

Without a doubt the best Indian in London (and I've lived all over). Everything is always absolutely delicious (tandoori prawns out of this world) and everyone who works there is so welcoming and friendly. Absolutely must try!

I booked a family meal and it was a large group. I couldn't fault the food or service, I enjoyed a chicken Korma and for such a large party of people the service was great.

Ordered a takeaway via Uber Eats as there was a discount. Menu on Uber Eats gave wrong description of a starter. Chicken Balti was more like onion balti, Nan breads were tough and chewy, Curry Leaf in St Albans Road is 100 times better.

Was on time and exactly what I wanted! Highly recommend! Look forward to are next take away.

Mayhek is my favourite Indian restaurant. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal; especially the poppadoms and special fried rice. All the staff are friendly and always efficient and polite. I always recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a good Indian meal; can’t wait to return!

If you want to order and pay for meal that is not complete … this is the curry house for you!! Twice I’ve ordered from them and twice they delivered with items missing. Which they charged for on both occasions. They did admit to it the 1st time but not the second. They even argued and denied it on the second occasion. So was our Valentines meal ruined. Never again.

The best curry in Barnet by far!

We ordered online with a 20 minute collection being stated. We arrived just within this time, to be told the order had only been received in their system 5 minutes previously. We then waited 45 minutes in the restaurant for our food. There was only 1 table occupied the whole time. The staff were not at all apologetic, and simply said that they were busy. To make matters worse, once we had our food, it was not great. During the wait, my lamb must have turned to mutton, as it clearly needed hours more cooking. Never again.

Apparently 20 minute for collection means 45 min plus once you arrive.

Chicken was overcooked to point of being inedible! My first and last order.

Was closed even though it was supposed to be open. Ended up going elsewhere. You’d think they’d want the business and not give it to their competitors instead.

We have used another Indian restaurant in Barnet for years but couldn’t get through today so thought we’d try Mayhek and we were pleasantly surprised it was fresher then our normal place and so tasty. We done a collection and it was ready in a good time from ordering. Food wasn’t at all greasy which was lovely. We will be eating here again.

As far as Indian food goes their home delivery quality was about 3/10. Very disappointing. Chicken was rubbery and the curry sauce extremely salty. The bhindi bhaji was very greasy.

Delicious curry! Always order from here and never fail to disappoint. Garlic chilli chicken highly recommend! Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Barnet.

We ordered a takeaway online at 6.45 pm - the website estimated 45 minutes for delivery and the acknowledgement email stated that it would be delivered by 7.29 pm. When it hadn't arrived at 8.10 pm I rang the restaurant and was assured that it was on the way with the driver and would be with us in 5 minutes. Just before 8.30 it still hadn't arrived so I called again. While I was on the phone it arrived. The man I was speaking to me apologised for the poor service and offered me 30% off my next order. As I'll never be ordering from them again that isn't much use. The food was just about ok but the chicken was overcooked and rather dry. We have ordered from Mayhek many times and the service, and the food have gradually been getting worse.

Dreadful service, delivery took over 1hour and 30 minutes, it was incorrect in that items were missing. Rectified 40 mins later so 2 hours and 10 minutes later had the meal that was ordered. The only thing that tasted okay was the rice. To say disappointed is an understatement. Never again

The food was delicious. My friends thought the non-veg was cooked differently and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The starter portions were small so order accordingly.

Attended based on reviews, decoration was dated and tatty. Once popadoms and drinks were ordered, were advised "card machine not working cash only" and directed to a cash machine opposite the restaurant! Chicken was exceptionally dry, onion bahji clearly not fresh and vegetable side dishes equally poor. I would not recommend.

The food is generally good although it takes ages to get served because they prioritize the takeaways. Problem is when you come to pay, you ask for the bill and casually tell you they can only accept cash, because their card machine has broken down. No prior warning, no notices outside warning this. Not acceptable these days, especially in the covid era when people don't want to be handle cash.

Today was the first time I've been to this restaurant and ordered an extensive takeaway. I have to say I'm very impressed by the food as I'm a bit of a curry head., I'd certainly give it 4.7 out of 5, so well done and hopefully I'll frequent your restraint again

Not sure what to say about this Indian but it was below average. We will be giving it a miss in future. The damask was too hot but lacked flavour and temperature of the food wasn’t enough, the bread wasn’t even warm

Friendly staff, good service food was good. However the place needs to be redone the chairs are old and rundown It need a touch to make it a special dinner night out.

My father and I decided to meet for an Indian mid week and given our local had closer down we were weary of dining at an untested restaurant. On arrival we were met by a very friendly face, Kaz who could not do enough for us and was in fact tremendous for the entire duration. He even recommended my dad (who is a fussy eater) to try a new dish and low and behold, he loved it! Food was some of the best Indian cuisine I have had and we will be visiting again soon.

Welcoming; good service, nice menu, prices medium and a good place for a sit down, catch up and a great curry.

Very good food. Only criticism is that they forgot to bring out a side dish which we had to eat at the end separate to our meal. No biggie and simple human error. It's a quiet restaurant during the week and nice place to enjoy a conversation over a meal. You dont get bugged by a waiter every few seconds but they are very responsive the moment you turn to look for someone or put your hand up.

For dining in I would rate it 4 stars! Nice little restaurant with friendly staff and good food :-) For take-away however, I wouldn’t rate it as much. The speed is great but the portions seem smaller and I’m still left feeling hungry even after paying for food :-(

Fancied something spicy on a cold evening, so it was time for a curry. Very friendly staff, there was a birthday party as well that evening, so a bit noisier than what we were expecting, but it was fine. Starter dish was really nice, the prawn was the star followed by the salmon and chicken, the lamb was nice but shadowed by the others. My main was a chicken biryani and it was a disappointment, it was oily and it did not have the flavour profile of a traditional pot cooked biryani where the meat is cooked with the rice. The dish was lacking in flavour, seasoning and there were no hints of garlic, ginger, cinnamon - I was disappointed, especially after the nice starter. The vegetable curry that came with it was nice. The other chicken curry was good, nice amount of spice and the pilau rice great, peshwari naan was excellent. Will definitely visit again, but will give the biryani a miss next time and order something else.

A very good Indian restaurant, inside is really decorated and the atmosphere is really good and relaxing. The food is really good and tasty, the portion are perfect and the price is really affordable. The staff is really helpful and professional. The staff are very friendly at Mayhek. I have visited for a number of years and have never been disappointed. The lamb and chicken dishes are fresh marinated meat. No complaints.

We had a really delightful meal here last night with our friends.The service was excellent, also with good recommendations to make our choice on what to eat.When the food arrived it was amazing ,very fresh and tasty. The stuff are so lovely.We all really enjoyed our meal.I highly recommend it .We look forward to going back.

Such a good take out! Finally a flavourful Indian takeaway that's great tasting but also reasonably priced. Perfect portion sizes combined with flavourful balanced spices. The sauces are smooth and delicious and the naan was incredible. Looking forward to my next takeaway night so I can try some more wonderful dishes. I also asked them not to ring the doorbell (neighbour has a baby and the bell is super loud) and they were very respectful and called me upon arrival just like I had asked. Will definitely make this a regular for takeaway night! also the salads that come in some of the appetisers boxes (like onion bhajis and tandoori chicken) is a really nice touch!

The food was outstanding, slow cooked Lamb shank was a delight. Warm welcome, cosy interior and fantastic food. Parking is tricky but worth the effort.

We have been visiting this restaurant on a weekly basis for a couple of years. We also use for work functions as well as family take away’s. The service is impeccable, full of warmth and genuine passion for the food their serve. I highly recommend! The lamb chop starter, they are amazing! The humour, fun and dedication of the front of house team is impressive as well as a committed kitchen full of impressive skill. Tonight it was packed, but it remained a 1st class service. Visited for the first time and the set meal of £10 pulled us through the door.The restaurant is tastely decorated and the service was excellent.In a busy restaurant we quickly ordered a beer each and our starters (choose any from the top half of the menu).These arrived and then we were invited to order our main course, choice of rice / naan bread and side dish.The staff were exceptionally efficient and friendly and the food was delicious.We will definitely return.

Samosas were Blande and uninspiring, onion bhaji not crispy, avoid butterfly prawns! The rice was nice for the mains but that is where it ended. Previously used to be very good but since change in management standards have slipped

I ate here on the first night after moving into Barnet with my family and have also had a few take-aways since. As I'm just about to book again for the weekend it reminded me to do a review! The food was absolutely exceptional and great service too! We were recommended the pork chops and we were not disappointed. I've eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants and this is definitely the best I've been in. Also, the take-away is just as good and you get a big discount for picking it up!

The food was disappointing certainly not the best Indian food I have had in the area. There wasn’t anything wrong with it as such just not that tasty although I had asked for extra chilli. Also the dish I chose on the ‘chef’s recommendations ‘ was no longer available although they said they could make me something similar. My friend sent his lamb shank back as it was very tough. It tasted like it had been heated up in the microwave. To be fair it was replaced with a different dish without quibble.

Excellent food, with several items offered that are not on the menu, so worth asking if it's not shown. The spelling on the wine list always make me laugh, though!

Visited three times since discovering this Barnet restaurant. The food has always been very good. There's a comprehensive menu and the food is very well cooked. Portions are good and the food is always served piping hot. The service is prompt and friendly. Will definitely make this one of our favourites to revisit.
