Boulevard in Croydon

Food was solid and plenty of it, too! Service was fine, as well. We got a drink on the house at the end, which was great - very European. The tables were weirdly thin, not a lot of space to put a bag, etc. Also, the chairs were not super comfy. The toilet art was a bit pervy, as well, which I found odd. Otherwise, though, a nice meal!

Boulevard is a fantastic local restaurant that is a part of the DNA of our South Croydon 'Village'. The owner is kind and generous, and his front and back of house colleagues are super warm and friendly. The food is FANTASTIC, and all this at great prices. Leave the chain restaurants and coffee shops behind and support your local businesses. You won't regret it 👍🏼

Calamari starters was chewy. Sunday roast beef was also chewy. Veg was undercooked. The pate was nice though. Probably overpriced for what you get.

I must have been in a different restaurant from those who have left the last few reviews. The food was mediocre. The slow cooked lamb wasnt slow cooked as it was chewy . So were the prawns in the prawn cocktail . The service was alright but that's probably because there were only a handful of people in the place. They must be saving on the heating bill's as the place was cold. Sorry to say it, but this place has had its day.

One of the best restaurants I have been so far: friendly and attentive staff, relaxing atmosphere with great mellow song choice, but most of all Delicious home made food which proves to find difficult these days. We had lamb shanks where meat was so soft and falling off the bone yum yum! Thank you Boulevard

Visited for the first time today15 October, reviews were good and I took an aunt for Sunday lunch for her birthday. Restaurant/Cafe? was a real disappointment, not only plastic tablecloths but plastic flowers too! The food was dreadful, roast pork was fatty and tasted dreadful, parsnips cooked but not browned, usual cheap veg, carrots and broccoli both inedible, we had to ask for roast potatoes which needed further cooking. The Yorkshire pudding was okay. The meal came with gravy covering the meat, probably to disguise the cheap cut of pork. Dessert was no better, tiramisu was dry and seemed stale. I told the waitress about the food, she was indifferent and muttered that she would tell the chef. Was hoping that this would be a good find but definitely not going back!

What a fantastic find. This place is so good I felt compelled to write a review for the first time ever. For a foodie like myself this place is heaven, I normally find at least something I am less keen on but here literally everything is perfect. If you are reading this review to decide on whether to visit this restaurant take my word for it you will not be disappointed. Enjoy.

Amazing all round. Food was a great price and very good quality. All of the staff and manager were extreamely friendly and funny. Huge range of drinks and cocktails. To top it off they had an amazing 60's singer on the same evening.

Great value for money at Boulevard. No frills just very good food and service.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly knowlegeable staff. I frequently sit to relax with a glass of wine. Generally good presentation of food and nice flavours. Pasta dish very flavourless and needs to be revised but other dishes much nicer. With a rethink about the pasta and sourcing higher quality meat the restaurant could be 5 stars.

Friendly staff, along with excellent food. Not pricey as well at this neighbourhood which is great. Had the Soup, Halloumi and Bolonaise - quite a relaxing dinner.

The food in this place is only bettered by the service. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Couldn't recommend Boulevards any more.. We are lucky it's one of our local restaurants.

A French/Mediterranean restaurant in Croydon. The atmosphere was calm, and not too many people - which I personally prefer to a crowded, busy restaurant. I ordered a fish main course which was lovely, and a vegetable side - the portions were good enough that I struggled to finish, and found myself taking eating breaks so I could finish....I don't like to leave any good food on a plate. Overall, not a bad experience, but I found my meal to be on the slightly expensive side - as it was in Croydon after all - not West London! I might go there again if I am passing Croydon.

I can highly recommend this amazing restaurant. My partner and I went for dinner here last night as we have done a few times in the past, this restaurant is a hidden gem, the staff are always very friendly. The food is amazing, every time we go I try a different dish, the Brie fritters, prawns and halloumi are fantastic starters, the steak is our usual go to because it’s always cooked to perfection, they are more than happy to swap anything you want such as chips to mash or salad to veg, for the food you’re eating other restaurants and pubs will be charging more than this place and nowhere near the same quality. You never feel rushed between courses, the staff ask when you would like your main once you have finished your starter unlike other restaurants that try and hurry you along, the atmosphere is also lovely, we went quite early around 6pm and left around 8pm.

Love this place. Menu has a fantastic selection of cuisines, the staff are friendly and the prices are low. If you are considering this restaurant you really will not regret the decision to go.

Second time to Boulevard in 2 months, and very impressed again. Food quality is very good, service excellent and decent value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch which turned into a whole day affair. Spent a good 6 hrs in this beautiful and cosy restaurant, with a relaxed and comforting vibe. Had a devine prawn cocktail, pasta milanese and sirloin steak which was all very tasty and cooked to perfection. The cheeky tiramisu was pretty good too. A really good selection of menu items and specials and a great drinks menu! A special thank you to Clive and his wonderful colleagues for taking such good care of us and for spoiling us. A definate gem in Croydon and a must visit for all!

Went for the Abba night. The sound was so loud half our party left after 15 minutes. Sat outside the restaurant. Wouldn't go again for a tribute night

Went there for Parkinsons Purley Group - Xmas Meal. We've had it here, the previous year. So surrounding is familiar. Meal was of good portions. About 50 of us there. Sometimes - a bit awkward - when coming out of inner seats - to use toilets. A bar is also there. Friendly staff. We'll organised. Thanks.

Recommended but you may be a bit late for the Christmas special now. Once again the only zero alcohol beer available was Heineken which is the base camp of the alcohol free Everest.

Very poor service,waited ages for menu and same for service.We actually had to go to bar for our drinks.Sadly 1 order arrived which was wrong so we mentioned it to the waiter ,he became very rude towards the whole table so we paid up and left.

This place could do with a Gordon Ramsey make over! Quite dated, restaurant. Seems very popular with local people who are used to the dishes, but food whilst ok, is tired looking, mass produced, some of it processed, food. Had the lamb roast which was nice enough, but the plate was smothered in gravy, so everything,including vegetables was swimming in gravy, which was quite salty. Had calamari to start and this looked awful on the plate with some limp salad that I wouldn't even try, it was clearly old. The calamari tasted ok, the presentation just left a lot to be desired. Staff were efficient, but not very friendly, they did their job! Toilets are on the same level so accessible. They do themed nights throughout the year.

-The food was bland -the steak was chewy and burnt -the chocolate fudge cake was tough, and the ice cream tasted past it's expiration date -the main server's fingernails were dirty -one of the servers didn't seem to speak English and constantly had to fetch another person -there was food smeared on the wall -the tablecloths were fabric and had bits of food rubbed into it -the main server seemed to have a nasty attitude and a hostile air -the drinks, despite being full of ice cubes, were lukewarm and there were things floating in them -the main server (with the dirty fingernails) was touching the straw with his bare hands and put them in our drinks rather than giving them to us -the restaurant was full of flies -the chairs were uncomfortable (get ready for an itchy bottom) -the decor was nice, particularly the stained glass window and the random door.

The boulevard is a lovely restaurant the staff are amazing very helpful the food is amazing highly recommend going there

This is our regular lunch venue, always great food, excellent value for money & their creme brulé is out of this world !

It was ok. Very hot in there and serving guy was sweating and I saw him scoop ice out with his hands. When he saw me watching he stopped. Food wise portions were fantastic. Valve for money.

Seafood linguini, the only flavour was tomato, we searched for the seafood and found an average of 3 tiny shrimp on each plate. Not impressed and would not recommend to anybody. The steak was ok but nothing special, One out 4 satisfied. 3 out of 4 very disappointed.

We have been here multiple times. Always have a good time. The food is lovely, good portion sizes and a great price. The pace of service was a little slower this time, but they were busy... I would highly recommend visiting here!

I wasn't expecting much from this restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised. The inside of the restaurant was really cosy and had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and happy to help throughout the evening. The food I did order (flat mushrooms and roasted halloumi with cous cous) was really nice, but as a vegetarian, I was a bit disappointed with the range of options there were on the menu. However the service was really great, and the restaurant truly had a great feel. The desserts (cheesecake, crumble, ice cream and chocolate fudge cake) were delicious. Overall a great meal, just wish there were more veggie/vegan options!

Wonderful to support this long standing South Croydon restaurant. We visited in a large group of 20 people and food and service was immaculate given how many of us there was. We all ate at the same time and staff were very on top of drinks order and any needs we had. Great value for money with their set meals.

The food was actually okay... But customer service let it down, I ordered the trout with garlic mushrooms for my main, which was full of bones. I had two bites and after almost choking on a bone, I told the waitress I didn't realise it would be so bony and I wasn't enjoying it. She said there's nothing they can do that's how its prepared. Good customer service would see that the meal was changed to something else but that was not the case here. So bit disappointing, the food was alright but definitely won't be back as there are much better places to spend your money for the quality and service.

Such a long time since I have been here even though I live locally. I made sure that I booked for Sunday lunch. Did not disappoint as was just as good as I remembered. There is an extensive menu and we had the roast dinner which was lovely and I had the baked salmon from the specials board. The service was very good and we were served quickly. We had desserts but ate those before I had remembered to take photos. They appear to have quite a lot of tribute acts on including Tom Jones etc. ABBA and Freddie Mercury and Elvis. So nice to see families out together again ❤ and lots of 60th birthday balloons for a big group celebrating 🍾... I also see they have a cheap steak night on a Monday....

Evening meal with a party of 3, all ordered differently. Food was prompt, portions were excellent, service very pleasant especially during a busy evening. Had the rainbow trout. One of the best fish dishes I've had in years.

Had a great night watching a Queen / Freddie Mercury tribute act at the Boulevard. He was a real entertainer and had a great rapport with the audience. Enjoyed a lovely three course meal of breaded camembert, ribeye steak finished with a gorgeous creme brulé.The staff were excellent, despite how busy it was, and a fun time was had by all. Would definitely recommend one of their tribute nights and we'll certainly be back!

The food and company was excellent! The courses came fairly quickly after each other, whereas in the past, there was a wait between courses. We missed the chatting but we really missed the dancing! I know it's Covid, but I love dancing at the Boulevard. The staff were lovely, we were remembered and that 'welcome back' was lovely!

Best garlic prawns ever! Frozen roast potatoes for my Sunday Roast hmmmm........ Menu is a bit tired after you have visited multiple times. Complimentary drink at the end of the meal was a nice touch.

It's great in the summer to eat outside. Wine is pretty good. The menu is extensive, but not all the food is to my taste. Been a few times, there's some good things, some not so good.

The staff is very attentive, food is always tasty. We always have a great time at Boulevard. Thank you for always being amazing.
