Amazing cake, and hot chocolate, cozy and quiet, staff lovely, would come again

I felt very good here. Most coffee shops I saw were quite superficial and anxiety-inducing before coming across this one. I really liked the cozy atmosphere and the warmth of the staff. Being my first trip alone as a woman who is learning English, I appreciated the diversity of the clients (some French). If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, work, meditate, this is the perfect place.

Ordered americano and matcha latte. Love the americano, it tastes light and suitable to my preferences. The matcha is also good but too much milk for me. Overall, worth the visit!

Really nice drinks and great vibe!

The cafe is small and cosy, with some unusual (delicious) drink options. I had a seasonal special iced rose coconut matcha, which was lovely! The food was also simple but tasty. The staff were so friendly and chatty, so we felt very welcome. Also the decor and design is really cosy with books and big armchairs. So overall I’d definitely recommend and would return there on another visit to Edinburgh!

Love the menu here - the rose latte was sooo good and the ceramics are really beautiful. Popped in for a takeaway and then returned to sit in. Both experiences great. And the early and late opening times are a god send.

A lovely little cosy cafe, with great muffins, chai and beautiful plates and cups. It is a great spot to indulge in a book since it is quite enough and they got nice chairs. Absolutely recommend it!

What a fab new place! Love it. Great decor, clean and friendly staff. You order your drinks and they bring them to you in really funky bespoke cups.

The only place I found in Edinburgh that stays open till 10 which something you don’t find easily for a cafe in Europe or the UK. The place and atmosphere are nice but the space isn’t big enough to have a quiet study or work time unless you go with headsets.

The "Books n' Cup Café" is a really nice and welcoming place in this area of ​​Edinburgh. Prices are lower than average and the breakfast offering is quite extensive, with the possibility of stopping to read a book or planning a sightseeing visit to Edinburgh. Very good cappuccino! Next time I know where to return!

I come here 1-2 times a month, and it never disappoints. Regardless of what time you arrive, the drinks are superb. Average Edinburgh prices. My favourite is their chai latte, but I also sometimes order mocha or matcha. I don't order food often, but I have tried a couple of pastries, and they're fresh and tasty. It can get very busy in the afternoon, sometimes it is full with no seats left (especially 1-2pm), but if you come in the morning (9-11am) there's a more relaxed atmosphere, perfect for reading or working on your laptop. Understandably, there's a couple of tables that have labels saying "no laptops," but if you come in the morning you can snatch a table that doesn't have a label and work away.

Given this place less than it might have received as though looking good and nice atmosphere I noted numerous people coming in and leaving immediately due to lack of seats….many tables being commandeered by people working on lap tops. These potential customers would I assume have spent money on produce and left within an hour whereas this modern scourge of “workers” quite simply buy a coffee and stay for hours - depriving coffee shop owners of profits due to filling up the seats with customers willing to spend far more money. NOT fair on average Joe and the owners As an update - I received a very decent/positive reply from the coffee shop, stating that it would be working to rectify the perceived problem with a very fair compromise….you cannot ask for fairer than that…..I look forward to visiting again !!

Absolutely love the flat white at Books N’ Cup Cafe! The coffee is yum and the staff is so so warm! It is the perfect cozy little cafe you’d like to visit when you want to spend a no yap day by yourself, reading a book and sipping on some delicious coffee!

Wasn’t expecting the coffee to be this good!!! Just the way I love it and the best part is they are open till late. Definitely not the last time visiting 💕💕

Absolutely cozy amazing cafe with early and long opening hours. Much needed in area like Stockbridge - after 5, I do want other option to pub. I love the presentation of the coffee and cake.

The staff nice, the place it’s small, maximum 15 person can be inside sitting, but the hot chocolate and sweet cakes and cheesecake are the best.

Stopped by for breakfast this morning. We had some delicious cakes and pastries that were recommended to us by the friendly staff. Not to mention, the coffee was bangin’. Will be back!

Staff were so rude and had such a can't be bothered attitude towards my husband and I. The cafe is very small, cakes weren't stocked so there was hardly any choice... ended up leaving due to the staff. I can see how this cafe could be lovely, just must have gone at a bad time.

Such a comfortable and cosy cafe with a relaxing ambience. Our croissant toasties were so yummy, loved everything from the cheese to fresh vegetables to chutney. Hot chocolate and mocha were also really good. Staff were friendly as well. Wish we were in Edinburgh longer so we could have this again. One of our best meals there!

Really good coffee, good coffee beans, seasonal flavoured coffee such as nutella cappucino & gingerbread latte, great selection of pastries, snacks and handmade toasties if you want something savoury. Vegan friendly. Nice clientele and staff as well as great and cosy interior and dog friendly 🐶 Worth going to if you want to support a good independent business rather than costa/cafe nero/starbucks. Really sweet place ❤️

What a wonderful start to the day! Delicious cappuccino and the almond croissants are so delicious! You get a real feeling of home here, so cozy. The sweet owner gave us a nice tip and discount code for the Christmas market.

Place with a lot of charm and top quality coffee prepared with a lot of love. Everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail from the napkins to the cups. It is a pleasure to spend a pleasant time here.

Absolute charmer of a coffee shop and the staff was excellent as well. Drinks were as good as we’ve had on our trip so far and the team behind the counter were incredible at dealing with the rush and were very pleasant in spite of how busy it got. Stayed for about 40 min for some writing because this place is perfect for inspiration.
