First time using Booba’s pleasantly surprised with the amount of food received

Arrived very late and just luke warm

They missed one item and were nice when i contacted them to let them know. Agreed to have it next time free.

Very nice portion size, fish is done just right. Chips are really good too. Guy in the store was very friendly and nice to chat to. Good price as well. Highly recommended!

Better than what we can get in Bushey. The one thing that let us down the note that stated no cucumber was ignored and we had to throw salad out.

Disappointing nice service but now I believe it was a front for the unacceptable food I was buying, the chips were overdone fish was greesy didn't enjoy it ended up discarding it and having cereal at home instead.

The chips had an odd fishy taste, while the fish itself was entirely flavourless. Given the underwhelming quality, the prices weren’t appealing, even for a takeaway. Altogether, a disappointing experience that didn’t feel worth the cost.

Food arrived hot which was great & good size fish & plenty of chips.

Delicious chips, very fresh. Friendly customer service, was given some chips to munch on whilst I waited! So sweet the guys in here

The fish was over cooked and the chips were super oily which has made our stomachs a little upset

Came here for the first time recently. The fish was superb, loved it. However, the chips were overcooked and some not edible as they were too hard. They looked as though they had been fried twice. Shame.

I found an insect in my food, and I attempted reaching out to the customer care and nothing happened. Quite sad and appalling

crisp- no fishy taste so v v fresh- lovely light inner depth of flavour. Chips light- thus clean fresh oil, crispy light outside + fluffy interior. extra condiments thanks, best in this region so far. thanks team u doing great

food was awful .worst fish an chips ever had. better heavy and soggy beneath outer crust. chips over fried and bits of chips rather than whole chips. more like re- fried left overs.

Bad not how I ever been served fish before

Chips was very dry and hard. The salad looked like it was a day old and soggy. The vegetable burger had a funny taste. I picked this take away as it had a high star rating but I'm afraid it's just not for me and I will not be buying from them again.

As always, excellent food and friendly service - been getting takeaway from here for a few years now and it never disappoints.

I was sorely disappointed with the food - whitebait and matzo breaded fish; I thought I was in for a treat, but the whitebait were limp and lifeless (no joke intended), not crisp and fresh, and the plaice was dry and bland! Even the chips were a bit lacking. It was my first time ordering from here, and the average rating is good, so perhaps tonight was an 'off-night', but I certainly won't be ordering from here again in a hurry. Overall a 2.5/3 out of 5.

Good sized fish, good sized chips and all nice and hot. Vegan burger (chosen as you don't do beefburgers or sausage in batter) really tasty and nice and hot. The pots of.salad were a nice unexpected supprise. Would have liked more chips with the burger though maybe a bigger box?) It everything hot and tasty. Thank you

Disappointed with order tasted like everything wasn’t freshly made. Felt like it was warmed up from lunch time. We ordered early evening, maybe next time we should order later.

2023: Still fantastic fish n chips shop. The same team keep the place going with great service and excellent fresh fish. The matzoh meal coating is our favourite as it (slightly) healthier. 2019: Our default local fish and chips. Always fresh, always beautifully made.

A tasty, good priced chippy. Thanks for the free pickled gherkin and onion. We go in the evenings to avoid congestion and parking restrictions. Definitely worth alternating from our normal go to.

Best fish and chips (batter or matzo meal) and great value

Food was great however we ordered one haddock and one cod but the boxes were not labelled so had no idea which fish was which. Next time I’ll ask in the restaurant notes for them to write it on the boxes when ordering next time.

Excellent fish and chips decent prices very clean.

The fish was delicious and some of the chips were good BUT there were far too many chip scraps (very small chips cooked to a crisp), therefore we may not order again. Shame really.

A proper Fish & Chip shop. Ordered plaice and chips, cooked to order, fish was a beautiful golden brown, properly filleted, chips perfect. Staff were lovely and kind. Dinner for three nights. I am rarely in the area, and haven’t visited Booba’s since before the pandemic, but I’ll certainly consider the 80-minute bus round trip again.

Very disappointed about the fish,was very greasy and a bit burned. Change the oil...

The place feels nice clean and fresh, I ordered goujons and chips the fish is good quality, chips were pretty good, could of been a little less crispy for my choice, but a very enjoyable meal.

Really good Fish n Chips, certainly not as reasonable as Neptune around the corner; but better quality.

Good portion size and haddock was delicious but chips were poor. Too crispy, think we got the end of the batch as they did not seem fresh.

This is a really high quality fish and chip restaurant. Everything is cooked fresh to order. If ordering takeaway I suggest you phone your order through. The Haddock was delicious

Lovely moist fish in matzo meal and great non greasy proper chips with a salad garnish all for a very reasonable price.

Fish is cooked while you wait, not sure if it was cod, but the main thing is that the batter is thick and wasn't totally cooked through although the fish itself was. Chips were good as was the matzo coating.

We go there quite a lot because the food is excellent and the portions are big. The service is excellemt. Highly recomend this place.

Fish was OK but the chips were soggy, brown and inedible. The owner said that it was because they were this season's potatoes and therefore still had a high water content but this is actually nomsense. They were simply poor quality potatoes.

Not our regular place but we thought we give it a go. Worst decision ever. Awful butter and underneath it...well...whatever it was, it was a) not a cod and b) half raw. Disgusting grey substance falling apart. This usually is the case if the fish was refrozen, so definitely wasn't fresh as they claim. Never again!

I LOVE Bobas. This was a Fish & Chip treat for my Son Asti. We both love Bobas Fish & Chips

Disgusting, we had vommiting and food poisoning 3 hrs after eating their horrible fish n chips which was obviously very bad quality frozen fish and dry, overcooked chips, mostly small offcuts. All we ate all day before was corn flakes and an apple each so it was them that obviously caused the vommiting. Eat elsewhere in future!!

Got a takeaway yesterday and it was perfect. Crispy non geasy fish, and nice cruncy chips.

Place itself is not very nice but great fish and chips (update: after small reconstruction it looks pretty good now and the fish is still great)
