Great food and coffee. Lovely staff. Very accomadating. Also in the middle of a beautiful village setting. Highly recommend visiting.

First time some of us had been to this restaurant/cafe which a friend has recommended ... Well we can certainly see why ... The friendly staff and customers ... The beautiful and bountiful meals (we all had different items and everything on every plate was excellent) ... And the lovely, clean and tranquil setting ... Would recommend anyone to visit and try it and I definitely know we will be back in the near future too

We like this place as a.stop off on longer cross country trips. We have always found parking but it might be tough on summer and the bistro is always welcoming. Modern art decor, traditional food ( we had delicious soups) and very dog friendly. Nice walks along the river just 2 mins away.

We were a group of six and went here based on the number of positive Tripdavisor reviews. However, we were hugely disappointed. I ordered gammon which was overcooked and served with the most unadventurous salad imaginable (some iceberg lettuce, a couple of pieces of tomato and a bit of cucumber). One member of our group ordered scampi, chips and peas which had to be returned due to the peas being stone cold and the scampi being overcooked. However, it seemed that the whole meal must have been put in the microwave because the scampi was even more overcooked and rock hard when it was served again! Service was indifferent at best and, to cap it all, we were overcharged but, thankfully, noticed the discrepancy before we left. There'll be no repeat visit here!

We went in for lunch and were not disappointed. My wife had the Tuna JP and I had dirty fries with crispy bacon and cheese topping. There was also a brilliant sound track of 80’s music to accompany the delicious food. Thank you for your hospitality

A great cafe in the centre of Appleby. We visited twice ve during our short stay, returning not just for the basic but delicious food but for the friendly staff and locals chat.

The people were friendly, the food was fresh and flavoursome. Portions were huge, great value for money. The soup was exceptionally good!

Visited this lovely place today with my partner to celebrate the life of my partners gran who sadly passed a year ago today. Her nan loved going out for toasted teacakes and extra butter and this little cafè fitted the bill perfectly. I cannot recommend this place enough and 5 stars is not half of what they deserve my partner and I was greeted by a lady called Evone who's customer care is outstanding. Such a warm and welcoming place who go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable so please go and try for yourself you won't be disappointed. Absolutely love this cafe. Been here several times for breakfast, lunch and the BEST Sunday Roast you’ll find in Appleby. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Mainly set up.for food, they had finished service by the time we arrived, but our coffee and cake was delicious. Very dog friendly with a nice riverside walk for the dog just around the corner. Lovely old town, the cafe is about 20m off the town square where there is parking. Might be busy in height of summer.

Very disappointing. We left the A66 hoping to find a pleasant cafe in Appleby and thought this might be it. But it was characterised by apathy. Indifferent sandwiches and drinks served without care for quality or presentation. Our latte and (flat) Diet Coke are photographed exactly as they were served.

Steak pie and homemade chips is a must. Chilli con carne also nice. Our 2nd visit I had a jacket potato with tuna & red onion. Side salad. Absolutely delicious. Well worth a visit and dog friendly.

This is a lovely cafe. Great selection of food and cakes. Service was quick and efficient and although we only had cake and a cuppa the food at the other tables looked great .

My partner and I always call in at Bojangles if we're in the area. Always a good choice of nicely cooked and presented food, along with reasonable prices. The steak pie is gorgeous! Always a nice relaxed atmosphere too.

Good place for a coffee (or a meal) after walking around the river in Appleby, really good choice of cakes and great service. They do simple snacks and full meals at good prices and offer a customer service that made you feel genuinely welcome.

En nuestra primera visita a Appleby visitamos Bojangles, para un almuerzo de 'sopa y sándwich'. Seleccionamos este lugar en base a las recientes y excelentes publicaciones de Trip Advisor. Encontramos que la decoración y el diseño son agradables. El miembro del personal que se ocupó de nosotros fue amable y eficiente. A diferencia de muchos establecimientos similares, había una opción de dos sopas, seleccionamos puerro y papa. La sopa estaba muy buena. Lo disfruté especialmente ya que el mío era agradable y cálido, sin embargo, la porción de mi esposa era, en el mejor de los casos, "tibia". ¡Una circunstancia que me costó entender! Nuestra selección de sándwiches de pollo y tocino, en pan integral, era muy 'sabrosa'. Sin embargo, había ensalada de col dentro de los sándwiches y también una gran porción como 'lado' en el plato, que se 'dejó' ya que no era realmente necesario. Pedimos Lattes 'descafeinado' pero nos dijeron que no servían 'descafeinado'. 'No' gran cosa ', pero la primera vez que me encontré con esto en un establecimiento de comida por algún tiempo. Otra situación que encontré inusual fue que luché por encontrar a los 'Caballeros', ya que no era una señalización apropiada en las paredes o en ninguna puerta. Finalmente tuve que recurrir a preguntarle a la señora que tomó nuestro pedido, ¡y descubrí que el 'retrete' estaba detrás de una de las puertas sin marcar!

Esta fue la primera vez que visité Appleby con mi esposa y vi el área principal de la ciudad sobre el puente. A los dos nos gustaba algo ligero y agradable para comer y beber, pero desafortunadamente hay muchos cafés. ¿Cúal? ? Sin embargo, nos recomendaron algunas personas para visitar "Bojangles" y esto lo hicimos.

Fabulous welcoming and inclusive service, my family are all vegan and we found Yvonne and Ruby to be more than accommodating to our dietary needs and whipped up some delicious meals which were enjoyed by us all they were also reasonably priced. Ruby even made me an excellent vegan Victoria sponge cake (see picture) upon request. Bojangles truly made our holiday in Appleby awesome. Vegan friendly restaurant. I would highly recommend a visit an essential part of any holiday to Appleby-in-Westmorland! Really lovely people!

We popped in after a very wet walk around Appleby, we were warmly welcomed into a very nice cafe, we found some comfy seats and had hot drinks, it was obvious that the cafe was a hub for locals but we included in the chat and were reluctant to leave after our brews.

We attended a friends 50th last Saturday night, the owner and staff had transformed the restaurant for the nights celebrations, what a fantastic job they had done. The food was delicious and very tasty. Wow what a night, thank you so much.

Called in for lunch on a Monday on our way to a short break in the area. We have eaten here before and chose to eat here again as they welcomed our small dog and couldn’t remember anything negative about our last visit. It was fairly busy (always a good sign) when we were there and clearly appeared to hit the spot for locals. The place has a cozy comfortable feel about it and appeared clean. Seated , we were handed menus to peruse deciding on two sandwich and two teas. Food orders taken we did not have to wait long before it was delivered to the table of excellent quantity and the home made chips that accompanied our sandwiches were excellent.

Had lunch here on our first day in Appleby and were sorely disappointed. Chips, although home-made were under-cooked. Chicken fillet was probably a Birds Eye one bought from the Co-op around the corner, along with the burger. Would not recommend, we won't be returning.

We arrived with my parents at Appleby aboard the Flying Scotsman from York and had pre-booked a table at Bojangles Bistro to save any messing around in the short time we had in the town. The walk from the station down to town was steep, especially for my 89 year old Dad and, although we arrived at the Bistro much earlier than booked, we were welcomed and were seated immediately. The food and drinks were excellent and the service was very friendly, cheerful and polite. We asked if there were any taxis in town to return Mum and Dad up the hill to the station and, after she had enquired, the owner Yvonne advised us that the one taxi driver was on holiday that week. However, Yvonne was insistent that she would drive them up herself, when we were ready. We all really appreciate this help, as Dad would not have made it back easily on foot and it added to an already special day. Thanks and very best regards, Yvonne. The next time any of us are in the area, we'll definitely be back!

We arrived at Appleby Station from York on the Flying Scotsman and walked into town for the first time. We stopped two locals dog walking and asked were to go they both said try Bojangles. We arrived and both had Sunday dinner with wine and local Ale. The service was excellent and they helped on the return journey by charging both mobile devices.The price was very reasonable and the quality very good, so if you are ever taking a flying visit in Appleby or staying longer Bojangles is well worth a visit.
