Boboli Restaurant in Harborough

I visited last.night with my husband. ts not local to us but we'd been recommended and the drive was so worth it. We are Italy fans and have been.to many regions of Italy on.holiday. This feels authentic. The food was fresh and extremely well cooked and the menu was so inviting. We also found all of the staff to be warm, welcoming and efficient. We had a wonderful evening and will definately return, perhaps for lunch. It was SO nice to be out in a restaurant again and eating food someone else has cooked!! Very Covid safe. Thanks guys.

Lovely meal, delicious hot food spent with lovely friends however we were slightly disappointed with the service this evening did seem slow and we were incorrectly charged for a £30 bottle of wine that we didn’t have . According to our friends this has happened to them numerous times which is just not acceptable.

I kind of feel the rating needs to be somewhere in the middle of Very good and Average but very good is more accurate than average Came to have the outside dining, the service was brilliant very responsive and smiley which is always a great start, the menu read nice as-well. We had a couple of cocktails which were very nice and ordered our food, I liked the look of the duck dish but it came across on the menu as not coming with any substantial accompaniments on the plate like a carbohydrate so I ordered a small plate of the cannoli to go with. The pasta dish was hot which was nice in the cold evening. The duck dish was Average, the duck was cooked nicely but there wasn’t a lot of meat and it was just fanned out on some carrots, as a main meal it was pretty small and not substantial enough to be a large plate. Overall a okay evening food wise but it was kept alive by the great front of house service, will be back.

Thank you to Sarah Lino and their wonderful team! We have tried Sunday lunch takeouts from various places during the lockdowns and have been pleased with them but the food from Bobollis is completely outstanding and absolutely delicious. Generous portions, fresh ingredients and scrummy gravy! The puddings are also amazing! Couldn’t fault any of it. Also we ordered some of Nonnas lasagnas to freeze - the best lasagna I have ever tasted! So lovely to see smiley welcoming faces when we picked the food up too.Highly recommended!

Our favourite place to eat in normal times and today the takeaway was fabulous. Amazing food with well organised, safe, friendly service. This restaurant is a gem and we feel very lucky that it is in the village where we live. In these difficult times it is wonderful to eat such delicious Italian food. Can not wait to be able to visit and eat in but until then the takeaway will do just fine.... thanks Boboli xxx

Just when you think Boboli can’t get any better it does! Together with its sister restaurant, The Lighthouse”, these are our family’s favourite local restaurants and the only ones we will visit at the moment with the stunning menu and the scrupulous cleanliness and screens separating the tables making us feel super safe. For our latest meal our group chose delicious meat dishes including pork medallions with truffle mash and steak with Gorgonzola sauce - a change from the amazing pasta dishes and fish we often choose. We finished off with divine desserts including their signature Tiramisu. Our meals were simply delicious. Sarah, Lino and the team have worked so hard to make people feel welcome and safe and this is our go to restaurant for eat in and takeaway. We love it for just the family or for a friends night out. In these difficult times it’s vital that we support our favourite local restaurants and our support goes to Boboli and the Lighthouse. I can’t wait to get back to the Lighhouse when it reopens later this week.

An old favourite of ours, but the mark of truly great restaurant is the ability to continuously raise the bar. And they do. Time after time. I’ve been going there for ten years, but tonight’s meal was the very best I’ve ever had. Filo pastry with Gorgonzola, walnuts and celery starter. Amazing. And then the cod, chick peas and spicy sausage mains with a pesto ‘rim’. Out of this world. Well done. Keep doing it, because it’s wonderful.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch at Boboli as have eaten here many times previous. They always provide the freshest ingredients when making your dish and we weren't disappointed with our visit last weekend. The staff as usual are so very polite and attentive, its a credit to both the owners and staff alike. Particular praise from my fiancée and myself to Joe (or Joseph as he reminded me!), couldn't ask for a better welcome and with his expert knowledge of the ingredients that go into the dish. It reassured me even in these pandemic times of how great, good quality restaurants are, so many thanks again. Our meal consisted simply of lasagne and a side of garlic bread with a dessert of a trio of gelato. Now to some this might seem not much but was what we wanted and I can't begin to tell you how good is was but we were still talking about how good it was late into the evening!Cant wait to book up and return this week!

Wonderful evening at Boboli. Staff are welcoming and attentive. Menu was varied. My partners crab tagliatelle was superb. My sirloin was very good. Deserts were beautiful. Great value and a lovely place.

Had a fantastic meal here last week the spinach and pea risotto with salmon was beautiful and my pasta crab dish was also great - staff friendly and all the tables safely distanced with perspex screens where needed - thanks

Dined here with family last night. Screens in place for social distancing. Great garden area to dine out, weather permitting, and lovely decor throughout. The restaurant has an unpretentious atmosphere which is very welcoming. The service was friendly and very good. When we asked the waitress about one of the specials she was able to answer our question without going to ask in the kitchen. Nice to know they have been briefed before service and know what they are serving. My son tried the lasagne and said it was exceptional. Looked huge when it arrived but apparently was so light and tasty! I had the special, monkfish which was delicious and my grandson loved his pizza and chocolate ice cream! Being a fish lover I can’t wait for their sister fish restaurant to re open for dining. This has definitely become our new go to restaurant and we’re lucky we now live near enough! Thank you and I would highly recommend. Hope to see you again very soon.

Popped in for a light lunch.. Ove the way they do a lot of dishes as a main or starter.. I like having 2 starters.. Enough for me.. House wine is always good and beer on draft as well.. Food and service great.. Great restaurant..

Excellent lunch with friends all very well organised in line with social distancing. We really enjoyed it and felt very safe.

My wife and I had lunch at Boboli today. The food and service was first class, as they have always been in our experience. We would wholeheartedly recommend Boboli's to all!

We went last night for our anniversary dinner and it was the usual high standard.All the safe measures were in place, without feeling obtrusive or spoiling the atmosphere.Food was fantastic as usual. It was lovely to be able to go to the restaurant again, although the take away menu is becoming a Saturday tradition!

visited twice in the last week. First with friends and then with family. A great choice of high quality Italian favourites cooked really well. The seafood risotto is delicious.

What a gorgeous restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, the setting is wonderful and the staff are lovely. Without doubt my favourite restaurant and will keep going again and again. Just don’t know if I can order anything other than the lasagna - sounds boring but it is mind blowing.

This was our first visit this year and the table service, their food and friendly staff were excellent and could not be faulted. Cannot wait to return in the future.

We went as a big group of 15, probably better for couples really... the food menu is very odd, not too sure how Italian it is && where they come up with the pricing! Although the food was all spot on, I am still a bit confused by the place! Desserts were super yummy though!

Had lunch at Bobolis as we were celebrating my mums birthday. It was Sunday and they had roast beef on the menu. The service was quick & efficient. We all had the beef and the food was very good especially the beef. The portions were ample and I found it good value for money. The ambience in the restaurant is nice and we were able to park in the car park at the rear. First time we had eaten lunch there and would definitely go back.

Have to say that this is one of our favourites. Its just lovely. We must of eaten here 50 times in the last 6 or more years. However for me the food was always good but has now moved up a gear. For instance my Pork Dish was quite special perfectly cooked very tasty and well presented. Wine list is good and the service provided by the loyal and quite lovely team is very homely, efficient and reliable. Great value we are lucky to have such a restaurant to hand.

Eight of us 6 adults and 2 children went on 28th December for lunch The restaurant was very busy and going at top speed, staff were clearing tables and resetting in the blink of an eye. But they were cheerful and friendly and made us feel they had time for us even though they were going at top speed. Our drinks arrived quickly.and service was very good throughout the meal .Four adults had fish of the day which was Hake and two had Confit Duck Leg and it was all very good The two boys had pizza the toppings of which were personalized for them. Puddings were super and we came away very happy and satisfied. Even better because we have a loyalty card we had some money off. A very good outing.

We shared a beetroot starter and then had separate met courses and a bowl of nicely prepared vegetables. The calves liver was one of the nicest dishes we have ever eaten. The semifreddo and pannacotta were lovely deserts.

Went for a family Sunday lunch recently and the service was, as always, excellent. The menu choices were extensive with some traditional choices alongside other more Italian dishes. There is an extensive range of wines and other drinks as always. The food was well prepared and served in a timely manner. Those of us who live within walking distance are lucky to have this, and the sister restaurant (The Lighthouse) so close by.Well done Lino and Sarah.

Had an absolutely perfect time in this restaurant. Came early on a Saturday evening with my husband and new baby. The restaurant looks great - light, airy and spacious. The waiting staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was the star though-so tasty, quite an exciting menu (I had duck fritters!) and well-presented. It all seemed like really good value too! Really loved it and will be back soon.

We usually return time after time for their friendly staff and excellent service and food but on this occasion after we had consumed the delicious main course we had, after a wait, to usher someone over to peruse the dessert menu, then another long wait to place our order. Might we have caught them on an off day as it has not happened to us before. Also the car park at the rear of the building and the pathway to the restaurants back entrance can be a bit of a mess especially after rain. Perhaps when we visit again the parking area will have improved? Still will recommend and we'll be back soon.

A treat from some friends to go for a meal and they chose here. We were shown to our table and within 60 seconds two different staff had asked for our drinks order. We asked for a few minutes, the waitress who eventually took our order was not very friendly or helpful. In fact as the night progressed we came to the conclusion she wasn’t really interested in being there.The starters were ok, soup, beetroot and salt cod pate. The polenta chips were however unbelievably chewy and quite difficult to eat. The mains.....The pork was tasty but tough, the cod special was just warm and seemed like it had been waiting a while. It didn’t help that the plate was hardly off cold. Unfortunately It didn’t have much taste either. The linguine was okay and the bream was ok, very small but again not with much flavour.We were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu to which we said yes. The server however forgot and 25 minutes later after the people on the next table who came after us had chosen and eaten their desserts we reminded them that we wanted dessert. The menus arrived but with no apology. Two of our group wanted tiramisu but at 9 pm there was only one left. Another option was chosen and two ordered the pear and mascarpone in puff pastry........which was actually fresh cream and not mascarpone, it was a big disappointment. The chocolate tart however came with mascarpone and along with the tiramisu went down well.Overall the food was average, some okay and some not. The service was not good, we were only asked if our food was okay after the meal which is a bit late.We’ve had better meals here, especially lunchtimes and this seems to be a trend in places that we visit to eat. Lunches are on the whole much better.I’m sure our friends will go back, as for us ....maybe not atthe moment although we are due to go to the lighthouse in the next couple of weeks. Fingers crossed.

Despite living within walking distance we had never been before. We went last night & were very pleased we did.

Lovely independent restaurant, great atmosphere and delicious food! Nice menu with something for everyone - the tomato prawn bruschetta is amazing! Have visited a number of times, last went for an 80th birthday party, great for groups as well as couples! Well worth a visit!

The selection is a bit different to a standard Italian restaurant. There a few dishes featuring spelt, including the pizza. The selection of seafood is good and cooked to good standard. The service is good.

We live within 25 minutes of this restaurant yet only discovered it three months ago. Have been back every month since. It is fantastic. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We have sat inside and out and both areas are extremely attractive and comfortable. The food is fantastic. Great variety for lunches and dinners. The antipasti, pizzas and calves liver are favourites of ours. Booking recommended as always busy - in a good way.

Whether we were unlikely but as a family we visited here through recommendations and were looking forward to eating there. But we were very disappointed the restaurant was fairly quite the service was extremely slow the courses only average and there was absolutely no customer service.

This is the ideal dining experience for all the family. A warm and welcoming restaurant which has an excellent menu to suit all tastes. Whether it's a lunch or a dinner, you will enjoy everything about this restaurant and being served by friendly and caring staff.

Service was very good. However food was poor. Bread tasted like it had been made with sawdust sweepings. Testa Rossa pizza arrived, very dry pizza base, indiscriminate toppings smothered in onions. Strawberry pannacotta came with tinned strawberries, a great shame as fresh English strawberries are now well in season.

It's quite some time since I visited this restaurant but I was in the area with a friend and we stopped by for lunch.

Went here to celebrate a special wedding anniversary, having had previous meals in the Lighthouse Restaurant (which was a much better experience). As Boboli is owned by the same family we thought we would give it a go and wished we hadn't. Despite the restaurant being mainly empty. Given table in a cold dark corner of the restaurant. The food was ok, but not worth the money and we didn't feel that it was a special experience. The desserts especially were a let down, the plates were not decorated. The panna cotta with strawberry compote, was served in a glass on a plate with a paper napkin and nothing else! The compote was thin and runny and was like eating tinned strawberries and masked the flavour of the panna cotta. My daughter didn't want any of the desserts on the menu so we ended up in the Swan for coffees, where her dessert looked and tasted better than the one in Boboli and was half the price.

As always you will receive good fare here in Kibworth, but after a gap of several years, I recollect the restaurant has changed the menu quite a lot: yes you can still enjoy pizzas, olives and Italian beer but today there are far more popular non Italian offerings and less traditional Italian specials that you would expect. The sweets do have an Italian flavour but overall I felt disappointed.

Attractive pub in a pretty village now running as a restaurant although it is still possibly to come just for a drink. There Ida lovely courtyard if the weather is good enough for outdoor eating. The menu has something for everyone with specials everyday and a pizza oven.

Having lived in Kibworth harcourt for 4 years now we decided to go to the restaurant as it’s only 5 mins from home.The place has a lovely outdoor area for eating and drinking.we decided to go inside nice table for two.The restaurant is spotless the staff nice and friendly too.i had a sirloin steak which was really tasty I did feel it did need some salad with it or a large mushroom tho as it wasn’t cheap.my partner had lamb shank which she said was so nice it fell off the bone.The rhubarb tart was the best I’ve ever had so light but so tasty.

Excellent 4 meals at Boboli restaurant .

Have been wanting to try this restaurant for ages and rose above all the bad reviews to see for myself ..... most of the reviews even the good ones have a key word ....’OVERPRICED’ and OMG it certainly is for what you get ... also I find the responses from the owners very aggressive and matter of fact in other words ‘it is what it is take it or leave it’ .... just awful responses and definitely not customer friendly. I am Italian and very proud of it and the food that comes from that beautiful country .... the food that was served to us was certainly NOT good quality and authentic Italian cuisine as it claims ..... worst lasagna I have ever had !!! portion size is also an issue and having to pay extra for side dishes at those prices is an absolute insult.

We have been a few times before and have enjoyed our visits so we were expecting to have an enjoyable relaxing evening. However the service was very poor from the start. We were shown to our table, given the menus and never asked if we wanted a drink. Eventually I had to get up to attract someone’s attention! The starter was.brought but there was no pepper and salt on the table! Again difficult to attract a waiter or waitress attention! At the end we got up to pay and the man at the till took our money never said thank you or good bye and we left at 9.30 and went home! A £100 not well spent and now put off from returning.

Visiting my sister in Kibworth, we were taken to Boboli's for an evening meal. The restaurant is just lovely - set on different levels with cosy nooks and stylish decor. There was a warm atmosphere and the staff were delightful.

Came for lunch .. much enjoyed it. The Italian food was good, if a little bit pricy, for what you get. The service was quite excellent, I could not fault it in any way. Would I come again? Definitely

We live in the village so eat in bobolis or the lighthouse every couple of months. We’ve always enjoyed both but on this occasion only found bob’s to be ok. Food was ok, although the potted salmon was a bit too rich for our taste. The steak was ok but at >£20 it was really nothing special and to be honest very gristly. We found the whole menu and the wine list very expensive with starters and mains with one (albeit pricey) bottle of wine coming to over £100 for the 2 of us. For the money you’d expect to be scoring much higher than 2 stars. Having to pay for sides when your main is already over £20 will always irritates me.

Simply fabulous - no pictures of the food as too delicious was gone so quickly - warm friendly greeting awaits at this super place - loverly ambiance - great looking restaurant and equally great team on duty. Great choice on menu and all came beautifully presented and tastes equally beautiful and fresh

Driving down from Nottingham for some Christmas shopping, thought we'd try Boboli for an unplanned lunch. We were not disappointed. A table was quickly found, our order taken and we settled in for a treat. The three course daily menu is great value at £19. Each course was carefully prepared with fresh, authentic and seasonal ingredients. Service was both friendly and efficient. In short, everything was thoroughly enjoyable. We will certainly return in the new year.

Four of us had two starters between us. (plenty) Then liver perfectly cooked for two, a pizza and a lasagna. All perfectly served, with an excess of chips/mashed potatoes. Friendly attentive staff - well worth a visit and not expensive.

Our annual Christmas visit lives upto expectation as usual. A new menu change surprised us on arrival.

We wanted to go to the sister restaurant Lighthouse but as it doesnt do lunchtime we went here instead and boy we weren't disappointed. Tastefully decorated restaurant, good choice on the main menu, specials and childrens menus . The staff are obviously well trained, polite and efficient with a quiet sense of great service. The food was really tasty with pizza, speck, turkey and pasta dishes chosen between our party. Everything is cooked to order so it didnt turn up after 5 minutes which was fine. Desert choice was very good- the best tirimasu ever according to one of the party Cant fault the place especially as no hard sell for drinks and extras which was appreciated.

Our first visit to Boboli this year so a menu change was expected. Ambiance is homely and service good. I had a large glass of Bardolino which was nearly £10 a glass. It wasn't the best and had a slight aftertaste as though it had been opened for a day or two. Not a quality wine and I changed to a different medium glass which was passable, but not good value. At £9 and £7 per glass, wine should not be passable.

I went to Boboli for lunch a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful experience. My Mum is in a wheelchair and we had been allocated a table that was very easy to access. The staff were all very attentive and very friendly, nothing was a problem for them. Everyone really enjoyed their food, it was all cooked very well and all very tasty. We are so luck to have such a great restaurant so close by!

As a regular visitor to Boboli, our experience on Saturday was exceptional. Delicious food,friendly and welcoming staff, efficient service (despite being very busy), and lovely atmosphere. All in all, a very enjoyable family evening.

Went for a double birthday celebration with my family - we’ve all been to Boboli before and think the staff are friendly and the service is good. There are some nice dishes on the current menu, and while we all enjoyed our food and thought it was very good, it is the minimum standard you would expect for the price.

Not as good, as the reviews says it is, First and Last time we go there, Food took long to come, and very pricey for what it is, I have had Pizza in restaurants in Central London, that are more cheaper and value money,need i say anymore.

Visited this delightful restaurant last Friday evening and had splendid meals. The choice of menu is large and the food beautifully prepared and presented and reasonably priced. Like it's sister restaurant The Lighthouse, the young team working here are first rate and are an added bonus. Their smiles and cheerfulness light up the place. Thank you to all at Boboli's......we shall certainly return.

It had been a while since my wife and I had enjoyed a visit to Boboli's so when the unexpected invite for a birthday lunch came our way we snapped it up. Friday lunchtime and the restaurant was busy - always a good sign. As a party of four we ordered from across the menu. Nothing was too much trouble for the knowledgeable and friendly staff.Service was excellent. My starter, Risotto with mussels and leeks was outstanding. The main, Steak with macaroni cheese, really tasty. Personally, I might have served it a little more stylishly. It came as sliced pieces of steak with a separate dish of macaroni cheese and no garnish. Simple it was and simple it looked. However, It tasted great but presented perhaps with the steak layered across the macaroni and topped with a small green garnish might have made it more attractive to look at. Affogato rounded off a delightful surprise.

Very attentive staff at this upmarket Italian. Good menu with tempting options all enjoyed by our party of four friends. No complaints just found it rather pricey hence holding back on 5 stars, so more of a treat than a regular haunt but still a good night out and sure we will be back

We me up with friends for a long lazy lunch and have to say that is exactly what we had.

The whole of Monday was set to the dentist. It turned out that the case is serious about root canal treatment. (Those who had, they know that it is not pleasant at all). To improve the chumor of my fiancé I bought slippers and a new trampoline outfit, which has recently become her new hobby. Returning to the house, I also took care of good food. I mean a good restaurant took care of the food. Boboli Italian restaurant. In their performance it was a real show of gastronomic poetry. We were the only customers so all attention was focused on us. The place is known to me but I was there for the first time. Nice and cozy interior. The spaciousness of the rooms made her want to be there. We were served by a nice lady who revealed the secrets of her name to Sandra. But let's go back to eating. As befits the Italian restaurant, we were treated with bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A jug of water also landed on our table. (I'll just add that I'm in places where you have to be reminded sometimes). Antipasti at Boboli Restaurant took us on an unforgettable journey: gambaretti con fagioli and insalata do mare. In one word. FANTASTICO. Secondi piatti is the poetry of rotolo di polo and coscia d'anatra. Everything melted in your mouth. There was no end to the admiration. I drank dinner with a glass of primitivo (here I would stop for a moment because the wine changed its taste - strange). Renata tasted strawberry juice - delicious. That's how she summarized it. One thing we know for sure. We return there in the near future for insalate di mare and desserts. Desserts which we could no longer accommodate because we were full eaten. We recommend this place because it is worthy of any gastronomic expeditions.

This was chosen as the venue for a meet-up of (mainly) ex-University mates. The menu, whilst not too extensive, was inviting and relatively broad. The ambiance was pleasant. The food was lovely - especially the Lasagne, which whilst not particularly experimental is the best I have tasted. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant if accessible to you.

Thank you Boboli for another superb tasty meal! We were booked as a party of nine and all received first class service, fabulous tasting food from the menu and the special boards and the ambience was warm and welcoming. Staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, even providing a side dish that was requested that wasn't on the menu.

We have been to Boboli many times and we’re always impressed when a new menu comes out. Last night my husband and I had the suckling piglet and it was tremendous!! I don’t normally put reviews on Tripadvisor, but credit where credits due.

We came to celebrate my birthday and had a first rate meal. The mixed seafood salad was so good that when we return (definitely soon) my wife will have it as a main course. My orecchiette was excellent with really succulent prawns. We had the 2 specials for our main, sea-bass and hake which were very tasty and accompanied with a good selection of vegetables. Excellent service from all the staff so a great day.

We love this venue and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a visit. They even do starter portions of many dishes for older, younger or less hungry people and as everything is cooked fresh they can accommodate your needs.

Booked for dinner (family of 4, early table). We’ve eaten at Boboli several times before. Last visit was a bit disappointing, but until this one it was the exception.

Nice pub with a good feeling about it. Food is nothing special and very overpriced. Drinks are also a premium at £4.00 for a Diet Coke. Main courses come without sides which are then £3.50 a go. Liver mash and a side£24, Steak and chips£25.

Disappointing lunch. Felt the food was average and over-priced. The Fixed Price lunch menu main courses were supposed to come with side salads that never materialised. One pizza was lukewarm, so it was re-heated, another was inedible, so taken off the bill. The hake from the Specials board came on its own, without any vegetables at c.£16.00 - rather pricey for what it was. The caramel dessert sauce on the daily Fixed Price menu for the day was not available... On the upside: the wine list was varied and good and the wine we had was delicious and reasonably priced; the waitress was pleasant and helpful; the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and laid out, with a separate bar area and tables and chairs outside, too; the village location is lovely and peaceful; the car park is spacious.

We dined on a Sunday afternoon but the roast dinners were all gone, however the choice and variety were very good and tasty. The food was nicely cooked, the pork belly was delicious. There's something for everyone including kids. Service was very good and friendly.

We visited Boboli as a large group celebrating a family birthday. The food was superb, the service on point and the overall atmosphere and ambience including the lovely village of Kibworth Harcourt was all amazing and without fault.

Had a meal this week with a friend and, as usual, it didn't disappoint. Delicious, inventive food: I had the rabbit leg confit with olives and potatoes, friend had pasta and pesto...and the desserts were indecent! Excellent, friendly and efficient service.

We’d heard lots of good things about this place. Sadly it didn’t live up to our expectations. Great looking menu with pasta dishes being different from the standard offering. However our lasagne and conchighlie were very mediocre. I got the impression they had been prepared “conveyor belt style” and merely heated up rather than cooked to order. No more impressive than familiar Italian High St chains, perhaps even less so. Tiramisu was heavy with the coffee/Marsala flavours being weak/barely discernible. Service was fairly standard. Polite, quick but nothing more. They have been listed in the Michelin red guide. Not sure if they still are but they fall short of my expectations there too.

What a wonderful afternoon we all had, Joe and the team looked after us all beautifully. The food was delicious, fabulous wine, a thoroughly good time had by all, Mum loved it x

I was taken to Boboli for dinner by friends.

This is a really nice restaurant, the atmosphere is great, the staff are polite and helpful, and most importantly the food is excellent, except the garlic bread it’s probably the worst I’ve had, but everything else is great.

My wife and I chose this restaurant for our wedding anniversary dinner.

We keep coming back to Boboli as the food and service is just outstanding! Especially when the weather is as lovely as it's been recently, their outside dining area is perfect for a light meal and a bottle of wine!☀️🥂

We went here recently as a group of cyclists who eat out at a new venue each week post ride. The ambience here is great, the staff are always very helpful, we had a bespoke set menu (very reasonably priced) arranged for us and the outside drinking/eating area is perfect for a drink on a summer evening. That is why we keep coming back to Boboli. Thank you

Had heard some good things about this restaurant but had also read many poor/average reviews on Trip Advisor, so went with an open mind.

Initial expectations for my wife and I were good but went rapidly downhill once, having ordered the same meals, we received our starters. A Dairylea triangle sized portion of cheese, 2 wafer-thin slices of a unmemorable ham with a piece of lettuce and half a cherry tomato left us both wishing we had had some bread to start. Nobody came to check on us before our plates were collected. The 'mains' came and consisted of pasta-filled shells in a sauce of approx 4 golf balls worth in total. Now we thought we should order a side dish but we couldn't because, again, we were ignored until our empty plates were collected by the manager. When we now complained to him he gave a perfunctory 'sorry' and left. A while later the waitress brought us a dessert menu (not going to happen) and apologised in a fashion obviously instructed to by the manager. When asked later if we would like any desserts we said no, we were not happy and just wanted the bill. The bill was brought and it seemed we had actually had starter-portions by mistake for our main as this was what we had been charged. We now went inside to confront the manager but he had only charged us for starter-portions rather than mains because we were unhappy. He had not bothered to speak to us to explain what he had done. The food is certainly not good enough to compensate for the portion sizes and the management is terrible. Never again. We were still so hungry we had to order a takeaway pizza that cost half as much and was twice as tasty. From elsewhere obviously.

We've eaten at Boboli many times, though not for a few years. We decided on a whim to go back. As before the restaurant was very nice, the welcome from all but one of the staff was warm, friendly and welcoming. The menu was a combination of Italian classics and some more sophisticated dishes.

Have always loved Boboli but yesterday’s lunch from the new menu was absolutely delicious. Stunning food in the usual friendly but classy setting

Really enjoyed a light lunch menu today with my wonderful wife who recommended this place.

Had a fantastic weekday lunch. Great food and fast, efficient, friendly service. We chose to have pasta dishes from the wide ranging menu. Love it when places offer the choice of offering dishes as either a starter or main. Good choice of tasty desserts which we couldn't resist. Excellent all round.

We arranged this meal to celebrate a relative's 70th birthday. It is delightful to come across a family-run restaurant of this calibre in a small Leicestershire village.

The food cannot be faulted. The service on the other hand, was not great.

We just popped in for a glass of wine to drink in the sunshine, but decided to have a bite to eat. Delicious, I had the crab and chilli pasta dish which was perfect and my husband had a pizza which looked and he said was extremely tasty. We both really enjoyed it.

Fancy finding a restaurant that offers your four favourite Italian puddings - tiramisu, affogato, pannacotta and sgroppino! Before the pud I had fegato alla Milanese with new potatoes and my wife had hake on a pea purée - both outstandingly good. I then had to choose a pudding so I opted for the said sgroppino, which I had first been introduced to by a Venetian working in Mallorca. Francesco da Mosto has a recipe in his Francesco’s Kitchen book, but my favourite has to be the Mallorcan version with a shot of grenadine at the bottom of the glass and a strawberry speared on a skewer across the top! Keep up the good work, Boboli!

Another great night at bobolis. Staff are some of the best in Leicester. Have been coming for years. Love this place and food never disappoints.

I don't usually take the time to review places but I thought this restaurant deserved it. Both the service and food were excellent. Never been here before and would definitely go again! I love that it's a relaxing and friendly atmosphere with good value for money and authentic tasting Italian food. Really looking forward to going back.

Visited this restaurant many times and it never fails to please. Great food and very friendly helpful and most importantly, knowledgeable waiting staff who are always ready with recommendations on food choices.
