Blueberry Cafe in Isle of Wight

A big portion of homemade cakes, good view (although cloudy when we were here), great selection of food and friendly service.

The cafe was full but we decided to wait for a table as everything looked delicious and the staff were so friendly. The local sausages were recommended so my partner had a Full English Breakfast. I had the Vegetarian Breakfast which was made happily altered to be GF. All the cakes looked amazing too but we honestly couldn’t eat another thing as the portions were very generous. Thank you!

Outstanding little gem that is a must stop. Really reasonable, lovely staff, and the most incredible cakes. We had to have 4 in the end! Could not recommend it enough.

What a brilliant place! I had read reviews of it and hoped we’d find it on our walk from Luccombe along the beach from Shanklin to the far end of Sandown and back via the cliff path but hadn’t realised it is actually on the cliff path - what an incredible location with fantastic views! Though I think you can also access it by road and a short walk… We arrived shortly before they closed but the service was still great - very friendly. And the food!! We shared a cream cheese tea - huge cheese scones, lots of cream cheese and delicious pickle accompanied by the best mug of tea I’ve had for ages - and with a lovely mint chocolate. All this while sitting in the sunshine admiring what must be one of the best views on the island. Thank you for giving us the much needed energy boost to complete our walk (walk highly recommended too). 😊

We came in for tea & cake, I have been following these on Facebook for quite a while & was looking forward to trying it, oh my the cakes, the only problem I could find is deciding which to have, my husband chose a cream tea & I had the fluffernutter cake (peanut butter & marshmallow) my husband’s scones were warmed. We had a pot of tea each & a pot of hot water each. This place is a real gem I will definitely be returning. If your going during school holidays or summer I would recommend you book as it was very busy today on a Sunday at the end of September.

After seeing the cakes on Twitter, we had to visit. Gorgeous views, fabulous cakes and wonderful staff. The lemon and lime cake was delicious! Would definitely recommend and wll go again. 5 star 🌟

Fantastic little cafe sat on the cliff path,came here for breakfast,although extremely busy we were found a table and the breakfast was lovely using quality ingredients,very dog friendly and the staff were very efficient and friendly a special mention for the young man doing front of house duty,who was extremely polite and professional during a very busy morning thanks yet again.

We have been to blueberry's several times this year what lovely meals cakes and such nice service so friendly we are looking forward to next April to visit you again ps our jack Russell dog likes it's well

We do our best to try a wide variety of restaurants and cafes when we're on holiday. But once we tried Blueberry, we just kept coming back! The cakes and scones are heavenly, the view is perfect, and the staff is friendly. They even let you pre-book cake slices. We ordered four, which the staff had waiting for us. We ate them on the ferry home, and they were all amazing.

Great friendly welcome, generous portions of ice cream. Great value for money and lovely view across the ocean. Prompt service.

Lovely place, lovely people and great food. I've only lived on the for 32 years and this the first time I've been there. It won't be the last. Nice hot plates with the food on. My rules are, Hot food should be served on hot plates 🍽

I had passed this coffee 'shack' everyday on my early morning coastal walks but it wasn't until we were leaving that I finally persuaded his nibs to stop here. We will be back next time we are in IoW! Delicious raspberry & white chocolate sponge for me - the breakfasts though looked & smelled delicious. Yes, there is a fantastic view but to be honest the quality of the cake & I suspect the rest of the food sets this place apart from many coffee shops. The number of reserved tables demonstrates, how popular this place is & well deserved.

Ordered our Breakfast and was told that we would have a bit of a wait as they were extremely busy. Whilst we waited we were kept informed as other new customers were, of the wait time. When the Breakfast came out it was extremely well presented and piping hot and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and caring.

Best stop for cake and coffee, also serving light lunch with good selection including a specials board. Always look forward to the cakes here, with selection changing each day. Recommend booking to guarantee a table, some tables indoor or undercover with others outside with great seaview. Look forward to our next visit.

I love this place, the owners are always there alongside their staff. Very welcoming. On a lovely day you can sit outside and enjoy the sea view. Weather not so good then you can sit inside a cosy area.

Fantastic welcome, very friendly. Great choice of selection of cakes . Coffee and cake was bloody lovely. Sat outside under cover, nice touch to gave blankets to keep warm.

Stopped off on our search for cake on a bike ride today. Blueberry’s didn’t disappoint. Friendly, attentive service and delicious cake. Absolutely well worth a stop off, plus the breakfasts looked amazing and lots of happy customers 😃

I just wanted to say how amazing is this place !! Not only they have delicious food and so many choices for breakfast or lunch , homemade cakes and great location with a view on Shanklin beach ! but the people who run it are sooo lovely !! On my last day of holidays I drove there especially to get a slice of gluten free cake for my husband back in London but when I got there the caffe was already closed, the owner saw me through the window and open the caffe for me just to sell me this one piece of cake !! This is called outstanding service !! I highly recommend this place !!! :)

I’ve been coming here for years with my family and it still stands as my top place to visit when on the island. The food is amazing and the staff are friendly faces who provide excellent service. If you’re thinking of booking a table, do it. On top of that, the views are absolutely stunning. I can’t fault this place.

Visited with my partner and dog on Easter Monday! What an amazing establishment from when we sat down we were warmly welcomed, shown the menu and told were we needed to order from. When ordering I was greeted by one of the owners he was so welcoming, which for me was lovely as you don’t get a lot of customer service like that anymore. We were sat outside, and in true British weather it started raining within 5 minutes we were under an umbrella as the guys were like a well oiled machine getting them all out to keep us all dry. The food is very yummy. I would recommend trying a breakfast, but either get there early or make sure you book a table as they are a popular spot. As a treat for later we purchased some of their homemade cake for takeaway. My god in heaven the pineapple upside down cake was phenomenal! I will definitely be returning very soon. Thank you so much guys :)

Outstanding place. From the moment you walk in with a warm greeting, to when the food arrives the whole experience is outstanding. Many claim to do a full English breakfast both on the IOW and throughout the country, but rarely will you find one of genuine quality. We look forward to going back to the IOW purely to visit this place once again. If visiting the IOW... make sure you visit.

We stopped here for breakfast on our last morning on the IOW. We were lucky to get a table as many of them were reserved (strongly recommend booking in advance!). 2 of us had breakfasts, and 1 had a breakfast daily special, and we all agreed it was not only the best meal we'd had on the island, but the best breakfast we've ever had, full stop. It was absolutely delicious, and we wish we'd discovered it sooner in our trip, as we would have stopped in every morning!

A lovely place to sit and take the air with fabulous service. Excellent and imaginative food and particularly liked the cheese scones with cream cheese and onion relish. I true savoury cream tea!

I'd heard great reviews of its homemade cakes and it did not disappoint :) Although we went for the cake, we couldn't resist the breakfasts first - my husband had a large cooked breakfast which he declared one of the best he'd ever had, tasty, great quality food, perfectly cooked and brilliant value for money! - and I had the avocado on bloomer toast which was exquisite. The friendliest of places and justifiably very popular - we recommend booking a table and reserving your favourite cake to avoid disappointment :) Thank you for a lovely visit, we'll be back ....

The best breakfast we’ve had since we moved to the Island three years ago! The sausages were huge and top quality. All the food was cooked to perfection.

Great views, friendly staff, lovely setting and a great selection of cakes. Also have a good breakfast and lunch menu. Not much indoor seating (lots of outdoor) so recommend booking if it's winter/poor weather. Highly recommend!

Delicious breakfast and very reasonable. Visited on a cold wet day and were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. I personally don't like beans but were immediately offered hash browns instead. Food 10/10 friendly service to lift your spirits the best i have experienced...

Superb cliff-top location, on coast path, with spectacular sea views. Plenty of parasols for shade. Very dog-friendly: our pooch loved his ice cream. Just had drinks: good coffee and cold drinks. Staff amazing, very customer-focused. Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Blueberrys highly enough!The staff are professional, friendly and cannot do enough for you to make your visit a great one.I have visited Blusberrys lots of times being lucky enough to live in Shanklin. So I have tasted their breakfasts ( amazing, hot and so much ), lunches ( great selection) and of course their cakes!!Where do I start? They are unusual, varieties you will not get anywhere else! Green tea & orange, Vanilla.... no this is not just a cake with a drop of vanilla added.. try it! Strawberry shortcake, Lemon Chiffon omg so light and full of flavour.If you are visiting Shanklin, make sure you visit Blueberrys on the Cliff Path.

This place is family run and so friendly! The staff are all lovely and the food was great too. would love to come back here next time for the cakes as they change them daily and are always fresh and look great! the scenes are amazing also overlooking the cliff down onto the sea.

From day 1 my wife and I were made to feel like family. This cannot be unique as we meet the same crowd every time we visit (sometimes 3 times a week). The food is delicious, well prepared and they certainly do not stint on portions. You will however be driven to distraction by the choice of cake - all beautiful and delicious!! Come rain or shine they will treat you as honoured guests. We love this place!!

Found Blueberrys through Trip Advisor and decided to give it a go for breakfast on a Saturday around 11am. You’ll never find this unless you are a local or a Trip Advisor researcher. Located along the cliff at Shanklin there’s a rather handy pay and display right next to the cafe. Seating is all outside during distancing with around 10 or so tables out on the grass. They are uncovered so this is really is only an option if it’s dry. It was windy whilst we visited but a lovely view. After being seated and looking through the menu we decided on the full English for 4. Took around 15-20 to arrive as they were quite busy. Drinks came within just a few minutes so plenty of time to enjoy the view and watch everyone go past walking their dogs. Food looked great when it arrived with the usual fried eggs, two sausages, two bacon, hash browns, fried tomatoes and mushrooms. We were also asked what sauces we wanted when ordering and got four pots of ketchup when the food arrived. No fiddling about with stupid sachets. Great bacon. Nice thick smoked stuff and not the usual supermarket thin rubbish. Sausages great quality and super meaty. Eggs cooked perfectly, hash browns lovely, mushrooms and tomatoes tasty. Tea was great, toast bang on and coffee filtered. All in all a great experience, so much so visited again a day or two after and had a similar, quality experience. The young staff running around did a great job and the boss at the counter was friendly. If the weather is good, pay a visit. We didn’t try any cakes but they looked good too. A good find and a place to remember next time we visit the island.

I can see that this cafe is highly regarded and I'm sure it deserves its reputation and happy customers. We were walking the esplanade below and saw a board advertising the cafe and a separate chalk board indicating they offered take out. So we climbed the many, many steps only to find it closed! Walking back towards Shanklin we came across another chalk board with incorrect opening times advertised. Please get your staff to remove these boards when you are closed!

We visited here today for the first time after a find via Facebook, I am so pleased we found it! It’s very dog friendly with lots of tasty homemade cakes and great drinks! The view of Culver down is fabulous too. It’s right next to the Winchester House long stay car park which has plenty of parking.

The service is always great, with decent food and drink at reasonable prices. Fantastic view as well.

We were recommended Blueberry's for their vegetarian cooked breakfasts and were not disappointed. That together with their incredible homemade cakes made our day and we now intend to make it a regular event. I would add that whilst sat at a table it was so lovely to see the dog walkers being able to let their pets have a drink from the water bowls provided. In addition the waiting staff were extremely well mannered and very efficient, allowing for excellent customer relations, which is reflected by Clare and Liam the owners who are an absolute joy to talk and deal with.Well done to all at Blueberry's and Thank you

We visited Sunday lunchtime, easy to place an order, staff so pleasant as always, nothing is too much trouble. Drinks given immediately, we didn’t have to wait long for our lunch. Such a beautiful location, I would recommend Blueberrys cafe to anyone who wants great service and a smile.

I always find the gentleman owner very pleasant but yesterday myself and a friend were having banter with the owner when a woman popped her head out from the kitchen and was very rude. I was very shocked when she said don’t come again before going back into the kitchen to prepare our lunch . We were all taken aback including her husband .I did wanted to make a scene and took our order but I did not eat mine. Working in customer services and owning my own cake business I was very shocked by her attitude. I also don’t think they take enough precautions during Covid , there was people gathering outside and no masks from staff .

If cake is your thing, this place is heaven. We had read the reviews and had been following Blueberrys on facebook and so despite the terrible weather we just had to visit. So glad we did, lovely people and amazing quality cakes. The owners responded to our questions with a deliciously detailed walk through of the range of cakes on offer yesterday and it was really hard to choose but we were so impressed with the flavours and light scrumptious sponges. Thank you!

We visited on a Saturday morning after booking a table on Facebook. In the event there were some free tables anyway but it just meant we were sure. There is only outside seating available at the moment but the view over Sandown bay is very nice and the area was well set out and kept clean and well wiped down by some excellent young staff. We had three different brunch options and all were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble when we asked for slight variations. It is very well and cheerfully run and the staff are polite and friendly and unfussy. The sausages and bacon were of good quantity and our 90 year old mother ended up too full to eat their fantastic cakes ......which is a first!Recommended.

Lovely staff with a great sense of humour. The cakes are to die for (unless you have heart problems) At the top of the cliff, so if you're coming from the beach an ideal way of working up an appetite. We walked via the road but were happy to sit down and sample the delights.

We booked a table here 3 times for our long weekend. Blueberrys are adhering to all new covid rules. Food was excellent once again always freshly cooked to order. Really recommend the chicken selects off the specials board baked potatoes are really good value too. Cakes were really good too we were gutted that the new knickerbocker glory had sold out before we arrived but hopefully we will get to try it when we back on the island in October if it is on the menu

Had breakfast here for the past 5 days whilst on holiday. Fantastic breakfast, lovely people and a great view. Also enjoyed a cream tea and a couple of slices of the delicious cakes on offer during our week. Would definitely recommend.

I am lucky enough to live on the island, and Bluberrys is my favourite place to meet up with friends. Today I was treated to delicious apple and blackberry cake and also a Bluberrys gift voucher ( as if I need an excuse to come back !!) as a belated birthday gift ; Claire , Liam and their staff are always cheerful, friendly and nothing too much trouble ,& go above and beyond in adhering to current Covid guidelines- & I’ve been particularly impressed with their cleaning regime .Well done guys...& look forward to meeting friends again on at Blueberrys on Friday !!☀️

As other reviews have said- great coffee, a delicious meringue roulade and amazing views. They’re very well organised with efficient and friendly staff.

We visited the Blueberry Café in Shanklin on our first afternoon on the island. We had seen this advertised in the ‘Wighlink’ magazine and thought it looked a convenient place to stop having just arrived on the island. We chose to pre book a table for two here and this was just as well as it was fairly busy midweek afternoon.The café has outside seating and well-spaced tables on a grassy area of the cliffs overlooking Sandown Bay and is conveniently located next to the Winchester Lodge (pay & display) car park though this was also very busy. On our arrival we were shown to our seat and left a menu assuming that we would be served at the table. However after a wait it became apparent that we had to order from the café itself. Payment was by contactless cardWe ordered two cream teas though only one was available so my wife opted for a tuna & mayo panini instead. It was nice sitting in the late August sunshine outside watching the world go by and the café appeared to be very popular with all tables taken during the duration of our stay. Limited toilet facilities were available here for customers. We would certainly consider a return visit on our next trip to the island.

We were staying in a house two minutes walk from the cafe so we had breakfast and a couple of lunches here as well as ordering a birthday cake. All were really nice and served in a friendly atmosphere with helpful staff. The views of the sea are lovely and it is a useful stopping point on the coastal path around Shanklin. It is very popular so worth booking for breakfast - there are some benches nearby where you can wait for your takeaway.

Went there for a quick brekky.Very clean,tables wiped regularly,hand gel available too.My brekky was cooked to perfection,my son had full English,which was very tasty.Cappuccino was good too,I am very fussy about my coffee,but here at Blueberries,was of good quality.Amazing views on a sunny day ,you could easily sit there for an hour or so.Will be coming back,and would highly recommend.

We had time to spare before checking in at our hotel and saw the sign for this little cafe, so decided to stop for a coffee. Easy parking and set on the cliff top, the view is amazing. Food coming out looked so good we decided to eat too. Fabulous bacon baps. Have to say the homemade cakes looked divine and were very popular. Service good and very clean. Covid measures were excellent too.

Fantastically friendly and helpful staff when we arrived dripping wet in the rain. Best cafe we found on the Isle of Wight! The cakes were awesome!!! Really unusual and delicious.

It's our last day of our holiday and had some time to kill between checkout and our ferry. My sis in-law had been before and recommended it for breakfast. They luckily managed to squeeze us in when I phoned in the morning, even managed to sit us together as we were a party of 8. Would have been happy separated but appreciated us being together.Very friendly on arrival and the gentleman serving/owner remembered us from calling to book.Beautiful breakfasts, great portions and amazing quality. Even with it raining a bit; the view and incredible food was a great finish to our holiday. We will return next time we are here and would recommend it to all! Even took some cake away as they looked amazing!

Our first post lock down meal. A small glitch in ordering was dealt with in a very generous fashion. Food was up the usual high standard. We are all getting used to the new protocols, not easy for diner or establishment alike, Having said that I think the staff are making a really heartfelt attempt to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My wife and I often visit this cafe, which is situated on the Coastal Path between Sandown and Shanklin, and has stunning views. The food is freshly cooked , the cakes are home baked. The proprietors, Liam and Claire, are very friendly and will go out of their way to ensure that you have an enjoyable time whilst visiting them. During this Covid time, they also take steps to ensure your safety.The breakfasts are delicious and there's always a sausage or other treats available for our dogs. In addition they also provide dog meals and Doggie ice cream.If ever you're on the isle of Wight, this place is worth visiting, even if you have to go a little out of your way.

Took visitors to Blueberry cafe for breakfast before they left for home. Liam Claire and staff are fantastic working under very hot conditions and with all the Covid 19 rules in place they are doing a wonderful job. Our breakfast order was complicated and a total of 8 poached eggs all came out perfect well done Claire. Booking essential during busy periods but DO NOT be rude to the staff they are working hard to accommodate everyone’s requirements. Take your time and enjoy the view and CHILL! Breakfast was amazing and the price is also amazing. Breakfast for 5 people including drinks was £34.00. Cannot say any more. Well done Blueberry.

I was really looking forward to going to Blueberrys cafe as I have followed them on Facebook and they post pictures of the cakes they have made for the following day. So I have been looking at their delicious cakes for 2 weeks before my visit this morning. They did not disappoint , we had slices of chocolate brownie cake, Eton mess cake and raspberry ripple cake. They were all delicious and of generous portions. Staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. What a find for cake with a beautiful view. Worth a visit if you are in shanklin...

Well it felt like a bit of normality to come and sit outside with a cuppa. Claire and Liam are doing a fantastic job with the social distancing and extra cleaning measures. I cannot fault the effort they have put in and unlike some places it does not feel intrusive. Thank you as always. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Who knew at the start of the year we'd be including Covid measures in our reviews?Anyway, all Covid distancing and sensible measures in place without feeling too intrusive. ✅Booked in advance, lovely sea view table ready for us. Great selection of breakfast items and most of us ordered either cooked breakfast or breakfast baps but daughter wanted panini, no problems, they would happily do that for her.Really warm welcome by the owners when ordering. I'm ceoliac and felt assured that they understood my needs. Fabulous quality food, amazing location and coffee to go back forAltogether an excellent experience.

This cafe is such an amazing find. It overlooks the sea with views to die for. The choice of homemade cakes is awesome and delicious. The couple that run it are so welcoming and they are operating good measures to avoid the spread of COVID. We love it and will return many times.

Just a chance encounter, in a great cliff top position. Wife loved the special and food drink excellent also good value. This is well worth the trek up the hill from Shaklin. A lovely reasonably priced snack with a warmly welcoming host. Some customers could not read the clear notices about social distancing, but staff worked well to ensure everyone was safe.

Loved this place, amazing food and cake! Cracking view! And super friendly service. Was impressed with how seriously they take the covid-19 regulations and the emasures put in place...all tables 2 m apart outside measured from the chairs, not the tables. If you sit in details taken. Hand sanitiser compulsory. Seen them sanitise not only tables but chairs too after customers leave. Waitresses wear shield.Situated on the coastal path, amazing place to stop off to refuel and take in the views.

Usually stay at nearby Miclaran. Blueberrys bacon baps are legendary as are there cakes. When this lockdown ends go see them.

You get a wonderful welcome at Blueberries both from Liam and Claire but also from the other customers - it is such a friendly place. The food is excellent the cakes are outstanding. We visit the island from Wolverhampton regularly and always look forward to calling in.

We have visited this local cafe a few times. We went on Sunday morning for breakfast it was great Friendly service fresh hot food cooked to order. Amazing home made cakes and fabulous views Can not fault this place will return.

We popped in for breakfast whilst house-hunting in the area and were met with a really warm welcome from the owner who gave us some great insights into the different areas on the island. The breakfast sausage baps were delicious and we will be definitely be returning to try the homemade cakes!

Enjoying a walk along lake cliff gardens. We decided to stop at blueberrys to warm up having never been before. Tucked out of th way is a great spot to unwind and relax. Stunning view over shanklin and Sandown. We had cakes and coffees. As expected the cakes are amazing and not expensive. Cannot fault this place they tend to every need.. Will return for sure.

First time visiting, although very popular and busy our food and drinks came quick, surprised how cheap and lovely the food was. Man behind the till was lovely. They have a little tip jar on the counter, well worth popping your spare change in there. Will defo recommend and revisit ASAP.

Cakes just like your mum used to make , warm and friendly owners and staff. Great views to look out at . Sit in or out so all year round pleasure

We took our dog for a walk popped in for a coffee and a bacon butty the cakes looked really yummy, we’ll have cake next time, a very dog friendly cafe, they even have blankets on the back of the chairs in case it’s cold we would definitely recommend this little gem.
